Fantastic experience. We had a selection of starters. A couple of Sicilian beers and a lovely white wine with the food. Aragosta. Will definitely be going back food, atmosphere, service great. Relaxed, authentic feel.

Outstanding food with great service every single time. Without doubt the best place to eat in Gosforth.

Faultless experience lunching here with the girls. The place is lovely, spotlessly clean (one of the lunch ladies is highly germ phobic and cafe corsaro passed her ruthless high standards, which is a rare occurrence when we dine out) the staff are so helpful and generally lovely and most importantly the food is exceptional. We all ordered different dishes and all were perfection. Coffee is top notch and might even be my new favourite coffee place in Gosforth. Highly highly recommend.

Excellent food and service - never disappoints!

The seafood selection here is excellent and clearly all very fresh. We went for lunch and ordered a few starters, the sardines were wonderful and calamari very crispy yet light. There was a squid ink seafood pasta special which was delicious, liked that they had shelled everything! Also had seabass and tuna mains.

Went for lunch one day and had proper Italian peach tea. Most of the products are from Italy and Italian brands. The interior is very unique with Italian brands ect on the walls. It is small and cosy. The coffee is really nice and they have a great range of Italian cakes, biscuits and pastry. Would definitely go for a coffee again.

I have been to cafe corsaro a few times for lunch; however, tonight was the first time I visited for dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic with incredible seafood and amazing Italian wines and cuisine. The service was also incredible and the waiter was happy to offer opinions and alternatives to any dish or drinks we were considering. I will certainly be visiting again.

Amazing place. Beautiful food and friendly staff. My partner and son said it was the best pizza they’ve ever had! Book ahead as it’s a small place and always busy.

We have passed this Cafe many times but never been able to get in, as it nly has about 18 covers. Until yesterday when we where passing i saw a empty table, we went in and YES it was free. The menu is very extensive for such a small place, what hits you is the staff are actually Italian. As it was early afternoon, and we where hungry we decided to fill up. So we went for the Italians meat to share with homemade bread which is perfect and for mains, Pizza Diavola, and Seabass cooked in a lemon sauce, and to finish we squeezed a Tirmisu and a Lemon Tart. The service is excellent the staff are so freindly and food quality and presentation is amazing. My pizza was the best i have eaten for a long time and the base was just right and cooked to perfection, my wifes Seabass was so tasty and very flavorsome. We enjoyed our meal and we will certainly be back , as lunch was so good and for what we paid is certinally value for money.

We went in the evening for a meal, people who go during the day rave about the coffee and cakes Booking in the evening is essential - during the day you can walk in.

I was referred here by Ken who told me about the friendly staff and delicious food. That is exactly right. I can't wait to work my way through all the pasta options, and then maybe I will finish with the seafood platter. Recommend: Nduja pasta. WOW

A wonderful little gem in Gosforth High Street. High quality, good value Italian food, cooked very well (al dente pasta) with friendly service. The pasta with langoustines was delicious and extremely well priced.

Always very busy so wasn't expecting the service to be so quick but was 10/10. Usually just go for coffee and a canolli but today decided to try the food. Me and the Mr got the fried chicken and chips (not attempting the Italian I'll butcher it) and it was amazing. Perfect is a better description! The fries were seasoned amazingly and the chicken was beautifully cooked. Think our weekly coffee is going to have to become weekly lunch! Can't wait to try the pasta!

Gem of a place - fantastic food.

My meal was undercooked and was very tasteless, the texture was too rough and chewy, the staff were friendly enough but the food was a let down and abit too expensive for what I got and it wasn't worth it, I don't think I'll be coming back here.

Had a lovely Caprese Salad it looked far too good to eat . The Chef here is an artist as well as a maker of fantastic food . Great coffee and service from Claudio too . Grazie

Absolutely the best Italian cafe I've ever been to in the Northeast with delicious reasonable food & drink wether it's a snack or a three course meal you will not be disappointed.

5 stars lunch We had calamari to share as a starter (fresh calamari, not frozen), ravioli and linguine with porcini mushrooms. Good portions and very tasteful: I would say one of the best Italian places in Newcastle. As a dessert, we had tiramisù: the best you can find in town. Friendly and fast service. Highly recommended: I can’t wait to go back and try something else (pizzas looked gorgeous)

We had a lovely lunch in here few weeks ago. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a talented chef made our time at Cafe Corsaro perfect. A real Italian hidden gem in Newcastle.

Café Corsaro is the place to go for a welcoming staff and a rewarding culinary experience. Cappuccino is at its best and I recommend the provolone cheese and ham ciabatta. Unforgettable!

Lovely small authentic Italian cafe in the centre of Gosforth. Nice choice of reasonably priced pasta, pizza and sandwich choices with a few sweet treats too. Licensed. Had a mix of lentil soup, tuna and tomato toastie, piccante panini, apple tart and a coconut and pistachio pastry. Plus drinks. Nice people running it too.

My favourite restaurant/ cafe on Gosforth High Street. The owners are charming and friendly and everything on the menu is on point. Pizza, fresh pasta dishes, gorgeous coffee, wine etc. Lots of wonderful Italian product. Small business but perfectly formed!

was looking forward to trying here but I was really disappointed. portions of pasta are really small for £6.95. pasta is not fresh just re heated up. it did not fill me up and wasn't nice food.

Love going here. I don't go often as not really nearby. But had to pop in and say ciao to my friends 😊 after such a long break. Friendly, delightful foods for lunch, lovely to just sit and have coffe, listen to Italian music or even watch it on TV. What more can you want. 🎶📺☕🍮🥧 😊

It is very hard to find a cafe experience which really has everything. This place has the decoration, the atmosphere, the quality authentic food, great price, excellent customer service and great purchases. The food is very authentic Italian food for very good prices. I had the spicy sausage potato gnocchi and caprese salad, flavour, presentation and taste was delicious. I also had the pistachio cheesecake. I was greeted with a very warm welcome by a lovely gentleman from Sardinia and Rosa the owner was also very friendly. They are clearly a staple in the community. Honestly the decor is wonderful, the music is very nice, you can purchase some authentic Italian snacks/oils/wine to take home. They are also doing takeaway during lockdown. This is my new favourite cafe in Newcastle. It could easily fit well in central London where I am from and be miles better than many places there. They just have it all. Rare find and really happy to have come across it. Don't hesitate to pop in. Thank you

Fantastic food coffee and staff

Already one of my favourite places in Newcastle. Have been a couple of times and the food and coffee are delicious. The staff give me a chance to practice my Italian too!

Coffee is excellent and the decor inside is nice and authentic. however it's very small so wouldn't be ideal if you were looking for somewhere to sit and work with a laptop etc. a few staff members have been unfriendly on occasions but overall very pleasant.

Small but perfectly formed authentic Italian cafe. Lovely friendly staff. Great food. Enjoyed 2 soft drinks, pizza, toastie, two coffees and two cakes for under £25. Amaretto Cake is to die for . Will definitely be back! Thank you.

Visited today after a recommendation from an Italian friend. Well recommended. The coffee was excellent, great value and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great selection of cannoli and cakes. Will definitely return. There are plenty of other coffee shops in the vicinity but this is the best.

I am a complete coffee snob and Cafe Corsaro is undeniably the best cup of coffee ANYWHERE that I know of. It is totally authentic and like sitting in my very own little bit of Italy. The coffee is perfect, as it should be, not at all bitter and knocks the competition for six. The food is fantastic and Rosa, Davide and Diletta could not be more lovely and welcoming. I often find myself sitting in the cafe as the only person, staff and customers included who is not speaking Italian, which should tell you everything about it's authenticity. It is now my one and only home-from-home. I will go nowhere else and I cannot recommend it highly enough. JUST PLEASE, DON'T SIT IN MY SEAT.

What a great find! As soon as we waked in, there was a warm welcome. We went in for a coffee, which was great but then ended up having the most amazing minestrone soup, mushroom risotto and a toastie,all for less than we'd normally pay for a couple of coffees and a slice of cake. I wish we had taken a photo but we were to busy enjoying the food, having said that the taste could never be appreciated in a picture,

Rude and unhelpful staff, we waited for a bigger table to accommodate 3 people and when it become available the owner still insisted we occuoayvonly little table next to the entrance door just to fit as na any as possible inside.

I swear I could find out this place is a front for the Mafia, and I wouldn't care it's that good. They could be fitting a snitch for some cement shoes in the back and I'd just be gorging myself on their pistachio cake. Come here and feel like part of The Family.

Good atmosphere but little for a gluten free eater

Absolutely delightful 'typical Italian' cafe. We had lunch there today and everything was just perfect. The food, the coffee, the ice cream and most importantly the really welcoming people. Also I was able to buy a packet Fregula Tostata - a favourite pasta and hard to source in Newcastle. There is blue badge parking very close by in Woodbine Road or obviously, if parked appropriately, on the double yellow lines in Woodbine Road. We love you Cafe Corsaro.

Forget other coffee shops on Gosforth High Street. This is the place to go. Excellent coffee with a lovely selection of treats to go with it. Also nice lunch options and even some Italian deli items to purchase. Has become a regular stop whilst on the high street.

It was an unplanned and hurried lunch - I was running late - the staff were welcoming and efficient. I was served quickly and with warmth. The choice of Home cooked pastas looked delicious. The penne bolognese hit the spot and was super tasty. The coffee delicious. All at a reasonable price. The cafe decor reminded me of happy holidays in Italy. It is super clean and neat and pleasing on the eye. Can’t wait to try some of the tasty looking paninis and Italian desert next time.
