2 years ago, we ordered a pizza takeaway from Flint at Chillingham Road - and absolutely loved it. I don’t know if it’s because we were starving - but it was extremely delicious. I promised that we would have to dine inside one day. That day was last week. They don’t accept reservations (which shows how popular they are), so we walked in early, found ourselves seats directly viewing where the action (pizza-making) would be. Within minutes of being inside, the whole restaurant quickly filled up with patrons. Their menu is not extensive, which is what I like! Specially curated to showcase their very best - and there are no options to ‘craft’ your own pizza kinda thing. ‘Take it or leave it. This is what we’re proud of.’ That kinda vibe. We ordered only one pizza - the Crown Prince Squash, Spinach, Fior Di Latte, Confit Garlic & Pepitas. It was superb - the dough was airy and crisp, there was a little burnt char which I loved, the condiments on the pizza were matched nicely, and of course, the showmanship in front of us gave it away. My only regret was that we had to rush off, and didn’t get to try their very own made ice creams. We shall return 💯

Unreal little spot. The staff were fantastic and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. The music was spot on. Wine selection unreal too. Little pricey, but everything is now. Cosy lush little place. Loved.

As good as pizza gets tbh I've eaten pizza in a lot of places including classic pizza destinations like Rome and New York but struggling to think of anywhere that matches this, the dough is insane as is the fermented hot sauce. Burrata starter is essential

Our local pizzeria that never fails to disappoint! The pizza here is made and cooked in an open kitchen with a menu that has a regular set of choices but what keeps us going back are the new additions and specials that seem to come in every so often, delicious! A small place that always fills with diners from opening, they have recently expanded their seating capacity to accommodate for its popularity. Worth waiting for.

My partner and I have been going to flint around once a month since we’ve discovered it! The best pizza in Newcastle. Staff are amazing and the pizza is even better. They have pizza specials that are dependent on what’s in season, and they are unreal!

We got takeaway from this place on a Friday night as I arrived by train from London visiting my friend for the weekend who lives just 10 mins away. My friend has tried this place many times and mentioned how high-quality their pizzas are so naturally I had high expectations. We ordered online for collection service the day prior and went with the Sopressata which was salami and hit honey with cheese and tomato sauce base. We had to wait 10 mins when we got to the restaurant to pick up order as they were making them right on the spot and it's so nice to see them making it in front of you and how they bake in the oven. The restaurant itself was a small one with limited seats but the vibes seemed really lovely. The pizza itself was absolutely delicious, I love the thick crust which is my absolute personal preference. Toppings were great, loved the hot honey to up the flavour profile and it's so moreish. Staff members at the restaurant were all friendly and nice, would definitely like to go back and have it in the restaurant next time!

Visited on a Friday night with a friend who lives nearby. Such a lovely, little place with a really relaxed vibe. We waited about 20mins for a table which didn’t bother us as we had a cocktail and chatted. Loved being able to watch the pizza making action. We both had a large glass of Tule Bianco wine which was perfect with our pizzas. Garlic and Rosemary aioli was delicious! Will definitely visit again.

We came to Flint the week it opened and return every time we return to the North East. The vibe, food and drinks are superb. Service is always top drawer and you’re made to feel welcome and comfy. The pizza is exceptional, absolutely no question and you can watch the chef prepare and cook it in front of you. If you’re eating in pizzas are out of the oven and on your plate and in front you within a minute. On this visit we had a Marinara (loving the anchovies) and a Pizza smothered in Portobello Mushrooms. Alongside these we had Aioli , Fermented Chilli and Salsa Verde Dips for our crusts. We also had a portion of Olives and excellent Charcuterie with Home-Made Pickles. We drank wine, they had an interesting Malvasia Orange on their list. Worth every mile of the 450 to drive from West Dorset.

Spent 2 years finding the right pizza place in Italy and found it was actually in my home town of Newcastle. Be proud and Well done Flint. Ben and his staff have been a fantastic host.

Never place to sit, ordered pizza take away, waited 50 minutes and it was wrong, good pizza but not wort.

1000% the best pizza in Newcastle (my girlfriend would say the world and as we're regulars, maybe in another 15-20 visits I can agree). The staff are friendly and personable and watching the chefs do their thing right Infront of you makes the pizza an event. Exceptional. My go-to is the Marinara with anchovies; hers is the classic Margherita with buffalo mozzarella, all served up with the sides of salsa verde and aioli. Thank me later.

This is an excellent spot for Napoli style pizza. The kale caesar and the burrata starters were also delicious. I really enjoy coming here after a long day at work for a treat. I appreciate the simple menu and accessibility of the restaurant.

I visited tonight with my son. The place is small but very nice, you will feel welcome. The pizza is absolutely amazing, one of the best pizzas we have ever tasted. As Italians we find it hard to discover places that have good pizzas, this is one of them! Very impressed with the food and the people are very friendly and very welcoming.

A ridiculously long wait for a really great pizza. We waited for almost two hours from the moment we got in the queue to the food actually arriving, on a Wednesday night. AMAZING! If u live around Byker this is the place u should go to . I had pizza with salami picante and fior si latte mozzarela and hot honey and I have say it was fingers licking good. Only reason a give 4 star is that dought was soft and I like crunchy edges but it's my personal preference.

We eat here twice a year and are always knocked out by the quality of the pizza, the excellent wine and warm friendly vibe. There’s some interesting small plates too if your feeling hungry and we saw the fridge being stocked with homemade Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. Alas all we had space for was some Olives and Smoked Almonds without aperitif before the main event. My pizza was dressed with Nduja and Olives and I asked the Chef Patron Ben to put some Anchovies on too. My wife had a pizza with Soppressata Salami. We added some dips of Aioli with Rosemary and a Fermented Hot Sauce to dip our crusts in. Service was excellent with good food knowledge and advice. The pizzas themselves are freshly made in front of you and are worth the asking price. They are Italian style as opposed to American style (Domino’s etc). There’s no booking so you take your chance as to getting in. The downfall for me was asking for a bottle of white wine from the selection of 3 or 4 to be told there was only one available. To compound that it was an average bottom of the shelves £6 wine which they charged £23 for. Considering this is an out of town venue I found that poor. I would maybe visit again just for the pizza, or if they actually stocked the wines on the drinks list at a more realistic price, otherwise it’s “scream for pizza” for me which is a similar standard.

The best ingredients made into the best pizza in the coolest venue. Quite fabulous, you can sit and watch the chef cook the pizza in front of you. The pizza are innovative and delicious; we ordered two specials one with Mussels and Fennel Sausage the other with Cavolo Nero, Hen of the Woods Mushrooms and Blue Cheese. Both lovely but there’s the usual toppings too. We drank Steep Cucumber & Lime Soda which we’d not tried before but were refreshing and highly recommended.

My favourite is #5 mushroom and if it's on the menu, you must get the Crispy Chilli Aoili for the crusts - it's insanely good.

Amazing staff and quality pizzas. We can't praise the service or the food enough even while operating on a cold, rainy, miserable tier 3 lockdown Thursday night. We were served straight away and nothing was too much trouble. The staff spent time going through the menu and offering advice on our choices. It means a lot when you are treated with that personal, good old fashioned customer service even when you are not seated inside as the typical restaurant goer. Amazing and innovative sprout pizza, a first for us, was just amazing while the sausage and fennel pizza is always a winner. We can't wait to be sat at your bar again guys but turning our takeaway into a special occasion to be remembered is priceless. We recommend Flint for the best pizza taste and experience you'll find, even in the rain!
