So, so good. When there are so many great places for coffee in Newcastle, you don’t often go out of your way to a particular cafe or coffee house, but Newtons is one of those places. It’s the sort of place that as a travelling youngster you’d hope your dogeared Lonely Planet would take you to. The coffee is fantastic, the vegan chocolate torte is delicious, and while if you wrote that about some London bistro it would sound proper pretentious, Newtons is so down to earth. I can struggle with social interactions, but the owner is so welcoming, and even if you’re lucky enough to be the only customer in there, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Go there for snacks and a brew!

Nice breakfast here. The place is intended for to go, because it is very small, no toilet, but there are a few seats inside. Outside in the sun too. Nice coffee and sandwiches. The wrap is tasty, but very greasy.

Excellent coffee. Tasty snacks. Hidden coffee spot that is worth a visit. Usually quiet with outdoor and indoor seating!

Really lovely coffee, and the sandwiches were really tasty, and the staff were easily able to cater for lactose intolerance. The only downside I can see is that they don't have a toilet, but it's a small eatery mostly for to go coffee anyway so it's not really a downside for me.

Bloke behind the counter was very welcoming, coffee was gorgeous too. Prices aren't bad so no excuse not to support a small business :)

THE best place to go for a lovely lunch. Proper lovely bloke, great chats, great vibes. The coffee is unreal, and the sandwiches are delicious. Gotta pick yourself up a little sweet treat while youre at it!

Excellent flat white coffee and tortilla toasted with mozzarella, coppa and pesto. Very tasty and close to Holiday Inn Jesmond

Best coffee ive had in newcastle, proper lovely little shop and the food is always banging. The owner is a lovely man as well, come here at least a couple times a week now because its so good! Would definitely recommend.

Came last week and had an amazing coffee and pastry. Using Pink Lane coffee and pastries direct from Italy, this was delicious and really friendly service.

Have to say one of the nicest toasty sandwiches I’ve had made with soft rosemary bread, prosciutto, salami, tomato and cheese. Delicious. Coffee is good too with a rounded flavour. Nice decor, atmosphere and friendly to boot. Thoroughly recommend.

Always have such a lovely experience at Newtons! The quality of the ingredients and coffee is superb and the coffee house is spotless. Josh is lovely and welcoming and him and Danielle make the best cakes! All the food is super tasty and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. I always look forward to returning. My new favourite coffee house and food spot in Newcastle! Not to mention the lush Italian sodas :)

Really nice little coffee shop. Pretty decor inside. The guy running it is really lovely. He imports his hams from Italy and has lovely cakes which his wife makes. Had an insanely good foccacia nduja and mozarella sandwich and honestly one of the best croissants I've ever had. Would really reccomend, good prices and lovely food!

The sandwiches are top tier especially the Nduja one and their rocky roads are unreal! Josh the owner is so knowledgeable and friendly. Defo somewhere you should check out!

Popped in today for a toastie & coffee and it was one of the best I’ve had. The window seats are perfect for people watching to pass the time.

Popped into the cafe today and what a beautiful establishment. Josh who owns the cafe is most welcoming & the fact him & his wife make everything is incredible we had a mortadella sandwich & njuda toastie and they were mouth watering & the coffee was delicious.

Absolutely gorgeous spot! Had the best mortadella sandwich of my life with a great strong coffee. Josh and Danielle have created a really special place here, will be back

Came here on Saturday. Great service and plenty of fresh/home made food to choose from. I went for a pumpkin spice iced coffee and my little pup had a pupichino! Won’t be a stranger!

Really delicious sandwiches and toasties and fantastic coffee. A perfect lunch spot or to just drop in a grab a coffee to go. The owner is just the loviest and makes you feel so welcome. Will be going back for the coffee, staying for the chat. Next time I'll have to try the cake!

Lovely little local coffee-and-baked-goods place with excellent java and food. Had a ham-and-cheese croissant that put others to shame, and that’s saying something when you’re in the UK.

Just discovered this cafe and absolutely loved it! Coffee is great, food is amazing, they actually have tasty sandwiches which I thought was something impossible to find in Newcastle! Didn’t even get to take a photo because they were that good! Josh, the owner is a great guy and he made our visit memorable. Will definitely be coming back.

Out of this world sarnies, I had a creation with Mortadella, Prosciutto Cotto, Pecorino and some kind of mustard mayo. Blew my little mind. 100% will be going back.

Fab new coffee house! Was recommended by a friend and went on Saturday with the family and it ticked all the boxes. We could park right outside, delicious coffee, hot chocolates, babycinos, pastries and best of all finally found somewhere where the veggie sandwich options are as good as the meat ones! Best sandwich I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be back.

The best sandwiches I’ve had in Newcastle! So good I’m still dreaming about it days later. Also love that they’re dog friendly so I can pop in while on my walks. Super convenient! Also brought my mother in law here and she said it was one of the nicest coffees she’s had.
