The best restaurants serving Thai food in North East

Visited earlier today with a friend & we both enjoyed the buffet immensely, delicious freshly cooked food with a varied choice of dishes, staff here are very attentive & nothing is a problem for them, clearly they care for their customers & are very professional, we will definitely be back & will recommend to friends 😊

We read reviews before going to Alnwick and restaurant sounded fab .. sadly Restaurant doing take away at present.so didnt sit in ..however it was honestly OUTSTANDING. NEVER tasted thai food so fresh it was my 50th and quite honestly it made my day....we got a takeaway and it was a meal we will never forget .This is a message to ANYONE who lives in or near Alnwick. If you want fresh... exceptional authentic tasting thai food packed with flavour and like to spend ure meals going..nom..nom..nom....out loud...this is the place for YOU.

Authentic beautiful home cooker Thai food, fab service in a small very clean café I would highly recommend it and we will defiantly be back

Having walked past this during the day, I’ll be honest it didn’t really look appealing. We have had takeaway from Leomngrass before but won’t be going back there. The food we had from Minthra was some of the best Thai we have ever had. I was late to pick up (my fault) but when we got home the food was still hot and still in beautiful condition. Very tasty, lots of it and a very happy family. Will definitely be going back. And to make things even better it was a lot cheaper than most the other Thai restaurants around. Well done and thank you

Great food and lovely staff!!! Very good value

It was a lovely time with my family for my Dad's birthday. He's one of their oldest customers and the owner was very happy to see him again. The food was lovely for all 6 of us.

Would highly recommend. I got the pineapple fried rice as I used to get this alot when I was in Thailand and it did not disappoint. Really reasonably priced meals and drinks, well under what the bill would have been at Zen or The Rabbit Hole. Food was so good, can't wait to come back and try the Phad Thai.

The restaurant is really nicely decorated and has a lovely exterior and interior. The staff greeted us on entry, we had a reservation so were seated immediately. Service was quick and the servers were lovely. The food was lovely and well seasoned, I had vegetable tempora, with the chicken with cashews. I would recommend this place, very lovely.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE!? I'd like to start by saying this place used to be a 5 star establishment. It used to be spacious upstairs and the decor was lovely and the service was great. Since the move downstairs it's just not the same. Decor is cramped and uninspired. But the service tonight was awful. No guidance to the young staff on service. Who by the way were all very polite and well spoken when they did come to us, so this isn't a rant at them personally they just seem a bit inexperienced and in need of managing. From arrival it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive (2 small bottles and 2 empty glasses), they actually came after our shared starter. Then another 30 minutes for the mains. They've also stopped doing the complimentary prawn crackers and dip. The room was slightly cold too. Not great. Also nobody checked on us during meal or asked if we needed more drinks. (We did). I'm gutted to write this as the manager is lovely and the staff seem friendly but we won't come back which is a shame cos old orangegrass was fantastic. I wouldn't say avoid as the food is still lovely and tasty when it eventually arrives but don't hold your breath for service. Maybe it will be better for others next time. But the cramped downstairs and lack of atmosphere too is enough for me to write this review.

Absolutely Delicious food the green chicken curry was spicy but soo good🍲😋 The staff were lovely and were really polite! The atmosphere of the restaurant was great made me feel warm and the change from windy cold to still warm was brilliant! I visited after the Whitby Krampus Run X and it was FREEZING out side but when I entered I was made really warm! Five stars all around

Food arrived very late very cold very greasy put straight in bin. No offer of refund and shop could not care less. Avoid

We had green curry and pad Thai. The food was excellent, well presented and delicious and the service was friendly and helpful.

Excellent courteous & considerate service. Wonderful fresh, flavoursome, authentic food. (Covid rules adhered to too!)
