Very experienced staff, know exactly what they're doing. The atmosphere, music and the scents all added to a very relaxing hour of my day that was very much enjoyed. Definitely going back again.

Highly recommend, service is outstanding. Ladies are so kind and friendly they make you feel so welcome. Always feel so relaxed after. I recommend at least 1 hour massage or more. Favourite place to come for selfcare. Laura x

BEWARE Nerve Pain Sufferers. I was bought a voucher for my birthday (non refundable or transferrable). This is not my usual massage place but thought I would try it since I had the voucher. I went and filled out a health card saying DO NOT TOUCH MY LEFT LEG due to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) which has allodynia present meaning a feather can feel like a knife due to my nerves malfunctioning after trauma to the area. I was lead to a cold room with a embroidered patterned covered bed with disosable thin sheets, no warm towels as per their pictures. The therapist's hands were cold and her nails were scratching me as she attempted to massage me - not very relaxing so I notified her, she went to leave the room to amend this issue somehow but when doing so PRESSED ON MY BAD LEG which flared up my pain immediately, She clearly didn't read my card and did not ask what CRPS was which I thought odd as most doctors don't know what it is. My pain levels have gone from tolerable upon arriving, walking with crutches to unbareable and unable to weight bare, even unbareable whilst in bed now. IT HAS TAKEN MONTHS OF BED REST TO GET MY PAIN LEVELS DOWN AND SHE HAS UNDONE IT ALL IN THE SPACE OF 10 MINUTES!! Therapist need to pay attention to the info given on pretreatment paperwork and ask if they need more clarification on conditions because a flare up can cause suicide as the nickname for CRPS is "The Suicide Disease" because the pain in flare up has been proven by medical research to be worse than amputation without anaesthetic, cancer and unprepared childbirth. I was not in a bad mood on arrival, I was polite on the phone to say i'd be late (I didn't realise they had moved and have a brain injury so don't think to check before hand), I am just always exhausted and have low energy from constant high pain levels but this was assumed as me being in a bad mood. I also did not shout at any staff members, I told the staff member that I wished to get dressed and leave and had to repeat myself 3 or 4 times whilst cold and half naked crying on the bed while she just stood there repeating that she was sorry, I realise this may have been an accident but repeating sorry and just standing there instead of listening to what I am asking was not helpful. Nothing would have helped besides going home and I explained this through my own sobbing due to extreme pain but she still didn't leave the room and with so much pain I couldn't think clearly. If she offered to pass my clothes I would have appreciated that and thanked her. Also, why give any staff suffering with mental health issues a complex client who also has multiple issues? That's just a recipe for disaster. I would be happy to return on a calm day, with a calm and friendly, polite as ever manner to educate on nerve pain, but I wouldn't return for a treatment.

Requested a soft relaxing massage on Monday 12th of June, after walking in off street. All went well until driving home next day, finished up with pain in my around my shoulder blade, and tingling on my arm and thumb! The lady put me in recovery position, put padding between my legs. Put my arm around back of my neck, this fault painful at the time. I’m a person in my 70’s so not very supple! So suggest they don’t assume everyone is the same fitness! Since returning home I’ve been for Thai deep massage, lady had to work the tight muscle to loosen this was so painful. Had a second treatment yesterday now feeling much better, all I can say is I didn’t have a problem before visiting this establishment.

Amazing! Been a number of times over the years but not recently. Have early onset osteoarthritis in my hip and was practically crippled with pain after a charity walk on Saturday. Booked an appointment while I was walking thinking I’d just have half a Thai and half a lovely relaxing aromatherapy massage for a change. Pa had other ideas!! I could barely lift my legs when I went in, felt two inches taller and could walk much more easily when I left. The massage itself wasn’t exactly relaxing, at times it hurt like hell but my pain was literally massaged away. Next appointment booked and will defo be going back more regularly as part of my pain management.

Been for a back and shoulders massage. Only 30mins but was excellent. Nice, friendly staff and excellent massage. A lovely cup of tea at the end aswell

Second time I've been here, first time for my husband. Dont know where to start, we both have shoulder/back problems spent a lot of money on sports massages that haven't helped that much but these ladies definitely know their stuff, they are brilliant. We both had the most relaxing time, my husband had a really intense massage and the therapist talked him through his muscle problems. I highly recommend this spa, you ladies are great at what you do, thankyou.

I booked a couple's massage with my friend for last Saturday and it was fantastic, they managed to see us at fairly short notice and the atmosphere of the place was just perfect! We left after our massage feeling completely relaxed and renewed, and the ladies were all fantastic. Thanks so much and both of us will be back soon!

We haven’t visited the restaurant in quite a while for obvious reasons but we decided on Friday to visit and we were not disappointed.We had the most warm friendly welcome and can I just take the time to thank Nicki and Shana for making our evening - we haven’t laughed so much in a while, thank you.Now the food - well what words can I use to describe an absolutely gorgeous experience - the food was just quite spectacular.My husband and I chose the mixed starter which had an amazing choice then for a main meal we had drunken noodles with duck and ginger - wow wow wow.The portions are so generous and just simply wonderful.Thank you thank you and we promise to visit again real soon.

Staying pretty close to Dalton we decided to pop down to Thai Orchid for our first meal since lockdown and we weren’t disappointed, I had the king prawn blankets for a starter they were delicious and the sweet chilli sauce they came with packed a fruity spicy punch, we had the Chicken with chilli & garlic as a main and shared the sticky rice & salt n chilli chips, we couldn’t fault anything, it was superb, if you’re in the area do call in

We decided to get a takeout from the Thai Orchid as we’d heard amazing reviews. We ordered the vegetarian Red Curry, the sharing platter for 2 people, salt and chilli chips and curry sauce which was all delicious. We are more inclined to order Chinese takeaways but the Thai was much lighter on the stomach and had more flavour than the other takeaways we’d had in the past. Lovely attentive and friendly staff who served us on the phone and in person. Covid restrictions in place within the restaurant and easy collection times. Great price for the quantity and quality of the food. Will be here again!

Genuine Thai massage with friendly staff and beautiful and clean premises.

We visited while on a family holiday and we're glad we did. We shared starter platters and every item was polished off greedily. The spring rolls were amongst the best we've tasted. Mains were well cooked with plenty of fish sauce for that genuine taste in the special beef dish. One son requested sweet and sour and that was excellent, none of that overly sweet gloop that is common elsewhere. The roast duck dish and the red curry were also delicious. The only thing that would have improved the experience at the moment is hand sanitiser available at every table becuase we all wanted some after handling the menus. Fortunately I had some with me so the problem was solved for us.

Visited here for a meal last week. The starter (mixed sharing platter) was really tasty but the main course wasn't great. The beef was really chewy and I left a lot of it. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant wasn't busy but they were very busy with takeaways.Cleanliness is poor. We had pre booked a table and it was dirty. Not good considering everywhere should be cleaned more thoroughly due to covid. There were lots of cobwebs in the dining room and the toilets weren't very clean either. It's an ok place to eat of you're in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

The staff were lovely and so was the food but it was a little overpriced. Hence the four stars instead of five.

This is top class Thai food by any standard. my wife is Thai so we have been to umpteen Thai restaurants all over UK and this is one of the best meals we have had.

The food looked great but unfortunately on arrival the acrid smell of cooking fat, discernible even fro the car park, caused such discomfort and coughing we had to leave after a few minutes

Been meaning to try the Thai Orchid in Dalton for years, but hadn't got round to it on account of the 35 minute journey from home. Well i think I'm likely to become a regular now.Popped in last night after walking the dogs, what a delightful little place. Super friendly staff, came out to meet the dogs and returned soon after with some treats for them that went down VERY well....as did my meal.I had dim sum, thom kha soup, beef penang and sticky rice....all for £16!Food was authentic and delicous, a real treat. Now i can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu, i guess I'm going to try and find some more regular local walks to do with the doggies, just so i can end with some delicious Thai food

Thai Dalton is just a 5 min drive from my house so we’ve been getting take aways the past couple of weeks! The portions are a good size and the foods been very fresh and tasty! We ordered the new salt, chili and garlic chicken, was delish.. roll on next weekend for another weekly take away!Staff are very friendly and helpful on arrival. They are doing well throughout the pandemic keeping everyone safe.

Very disappointing again tonight, there seems to a be developing trend of missing items from the takeaway order as again we had items missing from the order. Dalton is in the middle of nowhere so it’s a 40 minute round trip to go back and get an order rectified.

We ordered a few things and things were wrong and some of them didn’t turn up very disappointing been here in the past but this has been the most disappointing would not recommend will not be back

After living in many big cities and eating a various thai restaurants Dalton Thai is a little bit like entering into the past, the interior decor being traditional but some what dated. Food wise we find it to be variable, if your use to big city’s don’t expect 5/5. But for a local Thai is ok and beats most Chinese and restaurants in the local area. The staff are always pleasant and service generally quick.

Good massage but needs updating

Been for a number of massages here. Always come out feeling fresh and lifted after a deep tissue Thai massage. Green tea is a lovely touch.

Eaten here many times over the years, both at their Sunday buffet, and as regular takeaway customers. Family of 5. Ordered tonight, and were again prepared to drive from Dumfries for collection. Break between staters and main and when we go to eat our main courses, the price of which included two curries with rice, there is no rice at all with the order! Rice was included in the price of the curry. Ordered one boiled rice and one fried rice. How do you eat a curry with no rice? Ruined our meal and, at £60 cost, it was not insignificant. Did phone them just to be told they were sorry and were busy and couldn’t do anything tonight but may give us something free next time? Girl who answered the phone was excellent at her job and incredibly polite and apologetic, but the owners clearly don’t care! Simply not good enough I’m afraid!

I stumbled across the Thai orchid tonight with my partner had a came restraunt was busy food was good and staff where amazing I had never had anything like it couldnt fault it will be visiting again and definatley recommend to others

Went on Sunday 10 Nov 2019 for the Thai Buffet. Arrived 5.40pm, ten minutes after the buffet started. Firstly we were sat at a table with a dirty table cloth (bearing in mind they had just opened). Then went straight up to get our starter. Got some spare ribs, chicken pieces, few chips and some prawn toast. Sat down to discover that all the food was luke warm almost cold. My wife had to go and ask a waitress for hers to be put in the microwave! Her meal was brought back (no apology). Then we discovered that the salt was empty! For desert the profiteroles were already out as usual but there was no cream out (last 3 visits it is already out ready). Had to ask for the cream to be brought out. On paying (£28) we were asked how the meal was. Told him all the issues and he mentioned something about the burners not working correctly. No apology, no offer of a discount (not even the drinks knocked off the bill). Have been here 3 or 4 times recently and it’s got worse and worse. Will not be returning. Better off heading into Dumfries for the Hong Kong Star (first class service and piping hot food).

Love this place. Only negative is that they refused to do me a 2 hours massage. Said. 1.5 is the max a person should do. What. Why.?? Apart from this, lovely cosy place.

This has got to be the finest Thai restauant that I have eaten in. Its decor is a delight to see. The food that is something worth going out of your way to eat.The service is very high quality and the staff are very knowledgeable.We really enjoy the starters and the spare ribs I have never seen or tasted such brillantly prepared starter. The main dish was a delight of Pranw Green Curry with coconut Rice. and the banana Fritters with ice cream and fresh cream just as I am writing my mouth is watering. Hopefully it will not be too long before I revisit.

Hi. Can you let know me how much is thai massage?

Recently visited a Thai restaurant to pick up takeaway. Got home and there was 2cm of fat over the chicken. I called the restaurant up and was told I could get a refund. It has now been two days and I haven’t received a call. More attention to detail and what is served to guests need to be made. I will NOT be returning back here as the meals are hit and miss. A big shame as our first dine in experience was lovely.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years. The coconut rice is absolutely beautiful and I love the Thai orchid duck... Or did. Last nights order had a gravy type taste and an unreal amount of garlic making it inedible (and this is from someone who loves garlic). The duck meat was so tender but I just couldn’t eat it. I don’t know if you can see the white bits through the whole thing, I even tried sieving it out.

Come here frequently for a takeaway, we usually phone ahead and collect but phone was engaged on this occasion. Appreciate they are busy as its saturday night however the chap behind the bar doesn't seem to be doing anything!!! There are 2 waitresses that we can see who are rushed off their feet. However when "local people" came in they were attended to immediately by the chap behind the bar. We had waited 20 minutes or more how come he couldn't take our order? He didn't even seem to be able to answer the phone!!!It has dulled our experience which is a shame as the food is excellent.

We live fairly close by in Lochmaben and had not noticed this place in Dalton before.

We went as a family of 4 for the Sunday night buffet which had been recommended and it did not disappoint! Delicious starters and main courses and excellent service from Scott who was very polite and helpful! Would highly recommend.

After wandering through Ireland and Scotland, we were craving some good Asian food. We were not disappointed! The food was authentically Thai with flavors popping. The owner (Anh) came out to talk to us at the end and was a highlight of the evening. She was friendly and sweet and even tucked in some homemade banana bread into our to-go bag. You could tell this was a place loved by locals and we felt lucky to find it. Highly recommend!

Have visited this restaurant three times in the last month.

As recommended by a local we tried this place, it’s not the most obvious from the outside and the entrance is round the back however the inside was welcoming, staff friendly and ultimately the food was quick and tasty. Would recommend the chilli chicken - although it is quite hot.

This place is so good that we plan to go back for a week end on holiday again just so we can dine here. We discovered this quite by chance on our 2nd last night of staying at a self catering establishment. Only 6 miles away from the holiday house and boy was this a find - more like a small country pub/inn in a tiny little village but as some of the visitors have said -the smells emanating from the restaurant were terrific and the place was spotlessly clean and spacious enough to allow good dining privacy. The staff are delightful and were so sweet with our teenage and younger daughter. The desserts were delicious and super generous in too. Presentation perfection for starters and mains and nothing at all to fault this place. Oh to have a restaurant like this nearby where we live.

If you can get a table this is a fabulous dining experience. Mostly locals, it's a great place to meet and eat. Also do carry outs

i expceted this place to be really good after reading the reviews but i was dissapointed big time i came in with a traped nerve in my back i wanted a nice relaxing massarge i didnt want to be sat on or trud on i have learning difficultus and i felt like they ignored me threy have made my back 10x worce im taking the strongest painkillers i can find the staff seems like there was a language barryer should of just got into a fight not worth the money or time dont wast your time

The Thai Orchid has been recommended to us by a friend and on arrival I was a little sceptical as it looks just like a typical country pub.

Fantastic meal for six adults every thing spot on only thing you could fault some parts of main course late on arrival but could not fault quality

Sunday night is buffet night, an excellent buffet, with just a few choices, but usually busy, so food is nice and hot.

This was our first visit for ages and we were not disappointed. When we arrived the car park was full (which is a good sign). Inside the restaurant was equally packed with most diners apparently taking advantage of the £12.50 buffet available on Sunday evenings. Half price for children.

went there to treat my husband to a meal for his birthday. food was ok but service was terrible , booked for 7.30 sat down then, nobody came for over twenty minutes to ask if we would like a drink, then after another ten minutes order taken, got our starter at 8.15, had to ask how long our main course would be ,by then it was 8.45. so it finally came at 8.50. no condiments on the table .also ordered another round of drinks at 8.30 still not there when our main course arrived. decided not to order a sweet as our taxi was nearly due, we had already changed the time for that.they are more concerned of taking care of takeaways than anybody having a meal in the restaurant who pay a lot more to eat there, wont be back

Fantastic Thai massage. Had some pain in my hip. The massage was painful at first (to be expected) but left my hip in a much better state. The whole hour of head to toe work was relaxing and thorough. Would definitely recommend and definitely return for another.

I regularly visit here for their Sunday evening buffet with a friend. The food is always good and usually piping hot. My only negative comment would be that the selection although very good is always the same. That’s fine if you don’t visit very often but for regulars a variation once in a while would be great. Booking is essential for Sunday evenings as it’s always busy.

Despite having to drive 20 minutes from home, the Thai Orchid in Dalton is my one and only Oriental Restaurant. The food is without a doubt, prepared with care, it tastes fresh and is the perfect combination of flavours typical of the best Thai food. The service is always warm and welcoming. We simply don't go anywhere else, this is our treat and we always thoroughly enjoy it. Give it a go, I can heartily recommend the Tom Kha Sou, duck and pancakes, the spiced mussels and the pork rice.

We came for the buffet which was pleasant. Satay was amazing. Wasnt a huge amount to choose from however and a fussy eater would maybe struggle, but we enjoyed ours very much. It's extremely popular so booking is essential. Good value for money.

Very poor customer service. Booked an appointment for my partner and I, only to drive the 30 minutes to arrive and be told the appointment has been put into the wrong day and there was no one to carry out the massages. Very poor customer service and will not be coming back.

Just been for a meal tonight with my wife and in-laws for the buffet, food was very nice and piping hot. I did expect a little more choice but there was about 4 or 5 starters/appertisers and the same main courses with rice and chips aswell. A massive plate of proffiteroles to help yourself and ice cream on request for dessert.

An excellent selection of dishes available on the early evening menu which was available on a Saturday evening. Two courses for £12.50 - great value. Everything was well presented and arrived piping hot.
