Milbourne Arms in North Tyneside

Myself and my girlfriend enjoyed a pleasant meal and drinks at this fantastic pub restaurant. I booked a table and was very happy to get the window table and as it was cold we were happy to get the heat from the radiator. I had the steak and my girlfriend had the burger and they were both excellent. The young girl who served us was excellent good chat great at her job we both thought what a lovely young lady . Good atmosphere and was gradually getting busy as we were leaving. Looking forward to returning to this lovely local pub thanks to all much appreciated.

Came for a quick bite for lunch, service was friendly, food was quick and very yummy. I had the leek and potato soup which was very nice and filling! My friend had the pulled pork and cheese on chips and also enjoyed thoroughly! Thanks very much!

Visiting friend and their 3 year old had our Sunday dinner here today. Fantastic friendly service, exceptional tasty roast beef! Fast and efficient service from Nina and Amelia. And we were even tempted to one of the tasty deserts on offer! Very welcoming and child friendly little legs especially enjoyed her ice cream with rainbows! Tasty food in a lovely environment at a great price. Highly recommended and will be back!

Finally we visited this place. Having passed it a hundred times and the car park being full, we decided to land out of the blue for a mid week lunch. I think we were the only diners with three other customers in the bar. Mince and dumplings for me and naked burger for the other half. Prompt service and large portions. Friendly lady serving from behind the bar and full marks. Nice pint too. Real Ale.

Great all round atmosphere.Exceptional food and quality not to mention the portions.Dessert fabulous. Toilet facilities well above average.Price reasonable . What more could you ask for?

Having read good reviews we decided to drop by for a meal after a walk along the coast.It definitely lived up to the billing, very smart surroundings and plenty to choose from on the menu. We had starters, mains and desserts, all were tasty, good portions and very good value.The friendly waitress rounded off a lovely visit.

Took my children for dinner at the Milbourne Arms was amazing food brilliant atmosphere amazing staff and management who take the time to have a chat and make u feel so welcome.Decor is absolutely brilliant the new management have really turned this place around with a brilliant new sports bar. Arrived about 3.30 on a sunny Saturday Bank holiday weekend and had some lovely drinks and food. We were served by friendly attentive staff who were not overbearing. Sadly loads of children arrived about 6.30pm so we left.

This was a first visit and it certainly won't be the last! A very clean, comfortable pub, suitable for those wanting a meal, a snack, or just a drink. Service was efficient and friendly. The menu had an excellent selection and was reasonably priced. Everything was delicious and piping hot. I will be back!

We ate at The Milbourne whilst staying locally. We had a great evening. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the entertainment (on Thursday night) was brilliant. the owner/ chef went to great lengths to ensure we enjoyed our meal and i would highly recommend The Milbourne!

My wife and i had not been to the Milbourne since it was taken over and renovated . We were really impressed by the new decor and the additional areas added on .Service was great from entering and the lunch was excellent .I would highly recommend a visit .We will definitely be back .

Went to this lovely village pub for food. Had the Aberdeen burgers with gluten free buns and chips. Which were delicious! Lovely friendly staff and good atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Went for ‘fish Wednesday’ and it was amazing. Had the scallops to start, OMG they were gorgeous, would highly recommend this lovely village pub. The food and staff are wonderful as always.

We visited this pub for food after moving in to the village. It has original features which added to our experience. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Roast dinners were very tasty, piping hot and they didn't hold back on the meat. Our teenage son had burger and chips (he has a big appetite) but he couldn't finish it . My husband had vindaloo and said even the rice was flavoursome. Chips are chips right??? Wrong...these are the best and we'd return just for them alone! Food is an excellent price for the portion sizes and drinks are too. Compliments to chef for the delicious food and compliments to the rest of the staff for an experience we'll definitely repeat. At last a pub that has everything.

We went for a birthday lunch for the first time since it has changed hands and we were really impressed with the internal makeover. We sat at the table in the window and ordered two curries and the angus beefburger. The curries were lovely, rice especially tasty, huge portion sizes so we felt a bit guilty leaving some on the plate. Definitely worth the price. Our daughter had the burger which she enjoyed, just the cheese wasn't to her liking but that's personal taste, there was nothing wrong with it. We will definitely be back soon. Lovely friendly lady looked after us. Oh, and the red velvet cheescake was lush.

Today we had a wonderful Sunday lunch for Father’s Day. There was 9 of us over two tables and new baby with an age range of 0- 90 and we were superbly attended to by Sophie who had to deal with a large groupIncluding my deaf 85 year old father who thinks he’s hilarious!! She was quick, pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent. We had both traditional roasts and also curries. Puddings gorgeous. Tasty, good portions and high quality, well thought out menu. Very reasonably priced. We shall return soon and thoroughly recommend.

I have just moved to the area and found this beautiful pub on my doorstep.The pub itself is beautiful. Food delicious and a good drink.The staff in this pub are amazing quick service always a welcoming smile and happy to stand and chat and ask how your days been. The atmosphere in this pub is one big happy family. They welcome children and dogs perfect family pub.The new landlords are absolutely lovely very welcoming.Special shout out to millie the loveliest waitress we have ever met.So guys definitely visit this beautiful pub you won't be disappointed.

The Milbourne Arms has had a refurbishment and no expense has been spared. The standard is fantastic with lovely local references throughout. The staff are friendly with great speedy service and nothing is too much bother. Will be a regular here for sure!

called in for food and a drink, new manager/tenant, bar has had a makeover and a new dining area installed (the courtyard) looks nice however manager was present and completely ignored the groups of people there, he sat and played with his phone, service was fine, staff were friendly and helpful, no atmosphere at all, this was a friendly pub, previous tenants made sure you were welcomed and asked if your meal etc was OK. Drinks a tad on the expensive side compared to previous. I would suggest that if you want the locals in there you brush up on your communication skills.food was OK no problem in that area, really disappointed

Hi, called today while passing on the bikes, sat at a table outside and consistently ignored by three members of staff for fifteen minutes even though we tried to attract their attention.Quite surprised to be honest as they were not rushed with customers, will not be rushing back. My experience is that this level of poor service comes from the boss, a fish rots from the head.Good luck for the future.

Had a takeaway Sunday lunch today for myself and my family. Food was delicious, portion size was big. Lush as always. We also got a free desert as we ordered early which was an extra bonus. Keep up the good work guys. Thanks again

Best sunday lunch I've had in a long time, beef was melt in the mouth and lots of it, turnip and stuffing absolutely delicious and i always order an extra Yorkshire pudding because they are simply delicious, gravy is so nice and we look forward to a sunday lunch here and i would advise to book through the week for a sunday because its so popular

This was the first time we’ve visited there, we’ve often drove past but today we rang ahead, booked a table and had a fantastic meal.Booking a table with a pram, high chair and 3 adults wasn’t a problem. Millie , who is absolutely fantastic and a credit to the Melbourne was cheerful, helpful and offered some great advice as well as a few ideas. Thank you Millie.The food was brought out quickly , well as quickly as delicious freshly made food can.We were asked what condiments we required, Millie kept a look as she was serving other tables and quickly offered more tomato sauce for the grandaughter, straws, as she was dropping them, nothing was left to chance , extremely attentive.The food was delicious, the curries looked and tasted fantastic, the fish and chips were one of the best in the area and the sticky toffee pudding with custard just tipped it off.( thanks Millie for arranging mine split with the grandaughter, given her own little plate and delivered with mine, however it looked like she had her own pudding as mine looked like a normal plate)Over all, I’d definitely recommend the Milbourne Arms and we will be coming back.

We haven’t been to the Milbourne Arms for food before. I have to say how impressed we were. All our meals were delicious, well presented and hot! My adult daughter and I had the curry which had loads of chicken in it and it was awesome! I would say it was better than I get at my local Indian restaurant. It was so flavoursome, couldn’t fault it at all. Very very impressed! The curry was served with poppadums, half rice/half chips My husband had the fish n chips which he devoured and found the meal well cooked and perfect! My little 2 year old granddaughter also had F&C, the small plate version. She’s a picky eater and she loved hers. She ate and ate and throughly enjoying her tea. Thank you Millie for keeping her happy with the top up of ketchup. My husband and Granddaughter shared the sticky toffee pudding n custard which apparently was one of the best my husband has tasted. According to my husband you can tell a restaurant by their sticky toffee pudding. Empty plates that’s for sure. Apart from the delicious and well priced food what we found amazing was the service from our adorable, friendly and efficient waitress Millie. She offered a warm welcome and could not do enough for us. It can be stressful taking 2 children under 2. Our 5 month old Grandson was very relaxed n chilled as the atmosphere was good. Millie, you could show a number of top restaurants how to treat their customers. Well done! Overall we were all very impressed and will definitely recommend and return. PS I’m still raving about my delicious Dhansak curry now. We will be back that’s for sure. Good to see COVID-19 restrictions being carried out too

Although we live extremely near we haven’t been in for many years. Decided to go on bank holiday Monday before my return to school. Outside was extremely busy due to nice weather. We had a table booked and were seated with social distancing in mind. Not usually one for starters, I decided to have broccoli and stilton soup which was served with warm crusty bread, hubby had calamari. Mains were seafood stir fry and steak pie with mash and veg. We also decided to have a pudding and opted for sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce. All food was really lovely and reasonably priced although we were lucky enough to benefit from the last day of eat out to help out. Compliments to the chef. We will definitely be back.

6 hungry cyclists had a great evening meal, with good beer and great service. We were looked after by all the friendly staff and especially Millie, who was great fun.

Do Sunday lunch there quite a lot and can honestly say it’s the best around and never been let down great food great pub and great staff.

We had only stopped here for drinks previously but decided to book in for a meal. The food was tasty and served in decent sized portions. The staff were all pleasant and approachable. Despite the busy pub and an understandable desire from the manager to make money, we never felt rushed out or hurried to order or pay. We will definitely be stopping for a meal again even without the %50 discount.

Been to the Milbourne many times and always had a fantastic meal. Always a great choice from pub classics to an incredible specials board. Something for all tastes. Opted for mozzarella pesto salad to start which was really fresh and tasty. My son had the potatoe wedges and really enjoyed them. My son followed with beautiful battered fish and chips and thick cut chips. The portion was huge but he managed it all. I had the Sweet & sour chicken and prawns which was delicious. Service very friendly and efficient a really enjoyable evening. Will definitely be back and urge everyone to try it. You won't be disappointed!

Checked reviews before going, took son and mother out for lunch. Nice outside area but my mums feels the cold and not the warmest of days..All the food was very good, Calamari starter really good - tender and nice delicate batter. Tasty chicken wings also. I had steak pie, hard to better, tender and great pastry. Mums a Pescatarian she had home made fishcakes, she's very fussy ( Im not far behind ) and she enjoyed them. My son cleaned his sirloin steak in no time. Nothing frozen here - all good grub. Great service with a smile too - had to stop my son from asking for her number !

The chef came out and went through the menu to explain what was Gluten Free and what we could eat as we had 3 coeliac eaters. We had a lot of choice plus all of the curries. Great find and really enjoyed our lunch outside in the sunshine, which was dog-friendly too. The waitress was friendly and the service was great. Would recommend.

Been too long since we been to The Milbourne Arms for Sunday dinner. Great to be back there today, nothing has changed, a great welcome followed by good cold beer. We had the full works and three out of three empty plates was enough to say that the standards are still very high. Can’t wait for our next visit.

We were staying in Whitley Bay for a couple of days so Booked a table at The Milbourne Arms for Monday 17th August. We were made to feel so welcome on arrival and before we got our food we decided to book for the following evening. The food arrived and we weren’t disappointed, 2 of us had sirloin steak with chunky chips and all the trimmings and 1 had the Steak Pie. Excellent choice of puddings which we just had to have. On Tuesday 18th we ate there again. The staff just couldn’t do enough for you and once again the food was excellent. Thank you to all the staff including the Chef and a special thank you to Jasmine who was our waitress. If we’re ever up North again, we wouldn’t hesitate to book a table. (The Kings, West Yorkshire)

Booked a table for a mid-week meal, taking advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Service from Millie was first class, polite and attentive. We both had the calamari and then the steak. Excellent value and really tasty. Booked straight in for next week!

Lovely clean welcoming local pub, Jaz who served us was very helpful, polite and attentive when needed. We both had cold fillet with hand cut chips and mushy peas, the fish beautifully cooked and nice chunky chips. The apple crumble and ice cream was the perfect end to a very enjoyable meal. We will be back.

Having driven past this pub before for years, I had never actually been in until last night and what a pleasant surprise it was. I like the decor, not at all what I expected( for some reason I expected old men playing darts?!) . Its quite trendy, airy, friendly and the service was great. Bar staff and waitresses friendly and good food. Will definitely be back.

Me and my wife booked a table for Wednesday night. The pub was busy but comfortable taking into account social distancing measures. The pub was running a changed menu maybe due to COVID 19 but there was still plenty of choice. I had calamari to start which had a light batter and were lovely served with a tatziki sauce, my wife chose the haggis fritter with whisky sauce both were delicious and two clean plates. For mains I had a steak with chips tomatoes and mushrooms with a peppercorn sauce and the Mrs a chicken tikka dansak curry both wereagain delicious. The pub has a friendly atmosphere and the owners Derek and Carol always try to accommodate people and make sure they are getting the right service. Cannot recommend the Milbourne arms enough, we will be back to try the rest of the menu!

We had a very tasty lunch. I had balti chicken and my wife had pork belly . The serving for the balti was very generous and we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Found this place by chance and what a treat it was as upon arrival a warm welcome was given by management . Service and real ale was excellent. Food was Devine as steak was cooked to perfection would have no doubt but to recommend this pub for its all round performance. Well done ..

Ate here at lunchtime this week and the food was first-rate. We sat outside and it's a lovely garden, more peaceful than you'd expect as it borders the road. Can't fault the service, which was friendly and attentive. It would be perfect if they'd let you book tables outside as well as inside. (Big thanks to Rishi for the discount!)

Great,really enjoyed our visit for Sunday lunch small menu but had everything we wanted . Roast beef was amazing good , well cooked veg .and pudding to die for .good friendly service too .. all in all worth the visit .

Came on Sunday for a Sunday lush and the service was amazing and friendly Sunday dinner was by fair the best Sunday I have had in a long time. We called on the day to book & were accommodated perfectly by Derek.Adherence to Covid regs were absolutely spot on! Menu suited our family group from 70+ to 7. Everyone was super chuffed with their mains (Roast Beef, Roast Lamb, Roast Chicken, Fish & Burger) & deserts (Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Apple Pie). We visited this wonderful pub on Friday night I had the fish and chips which was absolutely beautiful. The batter was superb and the fish was cooked to perfection superb chunky chips and mushy peas. My wife had the Cumberland sausage with mashed potatoes and veg. She said it was delightful The service and quality was exceptional

I would like to say that the reason this place is so good because of Mildred and Jasmino 6/10 service but they’re fun to take the piss out of. Great pub, great atmosphere. One girl has just had her braces off and her teeth still look a little wonky. Would 100% go back

Visited this beautiful pub for Sunday lunch. The specials board was packed with fantastic looking meals. I opted for the Game Pie. I wasn’t disappointed, packed full of tasty meat topped with exquisite mashed potato, accompanied by a superb collection of seasonal vegetables. Wonderful

Located in a small village adjacent to Whitley Bay this is a traditional British village pub with ample parking. Nice decor and good food plus very friendly service.

We went for a family birthday & the food & service was amazing, certainly going back highly recommended.

We visited for the first time on 6th December for lunch and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Between us we had 2 Game pies, one cottage pie and one hot pork & stuffing ciabatta. The food was very tasty, the portions were large and all our meals arrived piping hot. The menu was varied, not just the same old generic pub food which was great. My husband & I both managed to save room for a dessert(my parents couldn't manage one as they were stuffed!). My husband had sticky toffee pudding which was delicious & I had the ginger sponge pudding which was just devine. It was light & very gingery, the best pudding I have had in a long time. All in all we really enjoyed our visit, the lady who served us was lovely & the atmosphere welcoming, we would definitely visit again.

Just been here for a Sunday roast. We had the quad of meat and what a feast it was. We’ve been before and it’s always been good but I think there’s a new chef and this time it was exceptional with roast carrots and red cabbage. Will definitely return and recommend going.

Visited this delightful village pub on Friday night, the place was buzzing having supported the local Xmas light switch on. We were seated immediately, served drinks and our order was taken despite the amount of people frequenting this establishment. My wife and I both had fish and chips, it was beautiful, piping hot and cooked to perfection. The staff were amazing and very attentive. I would highly recommend this pub for food and drinks.

Visited today with my boyfriend and grandparents. We ordered food and it was delicious and definitely all home cooked! We ordered a burger, veg lasagne, panko chicken and scampi. Everyone loved their food. Generous portions and full of flavour. Service was great, especially Jazz. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing!! Will definitely return soon and I'll be recommending the Milbourne Arms to my friends and family.

Fantastic food one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had, the lamb was so tender, amazing service the host could not have been more welcoming and accommodating even though we hadn’t booked, all round fantastic experience, lovely cosy country vibe pub would have stayed for a few ales if I didn’t have the car, will definitely return.

We visited The Milbourne Arms for the first time today after having read the fantastic reviews. We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. The vegetables and meat were cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire pudding and gravy were delicious. The vegetarian goat's cheese pie was equally as tasty. Despite the large portions we had to try the puddings and were glad that we did! Excellent service in a relaxed environment with delicious food. We will be coming back!

It’s taken some time but with perseverance we’ve found it, a restaurant that can equal my wife’s Sunday lunch it gets a 10, For service and staff 10, for ambiance 10, car parking 10, we’ll be back.

Sunday lunch here is absolutely spot on.

Managed to book a mid week table for 10 of our family, 5 adults and 5 kids and everyone had a good time. No bother about the boys being a little bit noisy and the food was delicious. I had the steak pie with a short crust pastry which was delicious. No problems separating the bill between the families. The sweets were really good and you get a good sized helping. Will definitely go back.

Just got back from a fun night at The Milbourne with Carol and Derek who put on a fun quiz night. Good laughs free sarnies and nice company What more could you ask for. This is going to be a regular thing on a Monday night, so come along and have some fun.

Friendly welcome and attentive service. Delicious Sunday Lunch with 4 meat options and an array of perfectly cooked veg. The portions are large...be warned! Desserts are interesting...an orange and brandy panna cotta passed the taste test with us. Note, this is a pub eaterie and not a separate restaurant. Good atmosphere, busy but not manic. Enjoyable visit and we'll return.

First time there. We just went on the spur of the moment after having read previous reviews. It was busy but luckily we got a table.

It started well with a telephone booking and the chap was very helpful and friendly. We ordered 4 Sunday lunches .. 2 pork , 1 lamb and 1 beef. The food arrived promptly and looked delicious .. however the meat was very overcooked and whilst not chewy just was not up to scratch. Onto dessert .. the Lemon posset was like cold custard and not a hint of lemon .. the pannacotta was runny and the ginger pudding was sticky toffee pudding in my view. On the plus side the service was ok and the Yorkshire Blonde beer was very palettable.. oh forgot to say that the vegetables were lovely pity about the meat

Ordered fish and chips, steak and chips, kids ordered chips and chicken nuggets and spaghetti. Every meal was a massive portion and top quality, beautifully presented and very good service! They have a new menu which was much better but also have a 2 meals for £10 Which is brilliant value, our meal and 2 coke's with a wine 2 beers and a cuppa came to just over £46 Which i thought was brilliant value! Absolutely fantastic place the manager and staff could not if been any nicer nothing was to much trouble. I applaud the chef for amazing food and the service there was 16 adults and 3 children and we were all served within minutes between each table. great little place cosy and friendly HIGHLY RECOMMENDED looking forward to our next visit

My friend and I called at The Milbourne for lunch last week and I have to say it's one of the nicest Fish and Chips I have ever had ,the chips were to die for , staff were wonderful and very friendly will definitely be back

One of the friendliest warmest welcomes that I have ever experienced from a pub/restaurant. The owners & staff are so accommodating and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The food is always good, hot and flavoursome dishes that cater for all diets. The vegetarian Sunday lunch was amazing, my last visit I had curry.A rich, tasty Indian dish with rice and chip, naan and sides. This establishment delivers and is consistent in providing great food and service. This place also serves a cracking Guinness. Please try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Almost forgot...the loo’s are very clean
