Three of us ordered the full Scottish breakfast as a treat. When the plates arrived the meals were certainly large but unfortunately each element was so sodden with grease as to be inedible. The waitress did apologise and brought extra napkins to mop up the grease. Despite our complaint no reduction in price was offered. The staff’s parting comment was “well it was a fry up”. Sarcasm as a substitute for customer service. Disgusting experience which we won’t repeat

Really disappointed today. Bought a loaf. Levain I think it's called. It was not fresh. I know because I bought the sane loaf a few days ago. I enjoyed it so much went back today for another. The one purchased today was definitely left over from yesterday. The least they could have done was reduced it as other local artisan bakeries do.

We were warmly welcomed to the restaurant and the service we received was excellent. We didn't feel like having a big lunch so were going to have the soup, the waiter asked if we liked Indian cuisine to which we all said yes and he said we could have a small portion of items on the menu. So we did, the waiter asked if we liked spicy and tailored our order to suit our preferences. The food was presented well and was the best tikka masala I've had. I can't fault it and would highly recommend. Thank you.

I've been a returning customer since they opened. Will continue to buy. My favourite are galaxy caramel, tablet and vimto

I'm afraid I won't be back. Went to use the facilities and I went into toilets and heard giggling didn't hang around but imagine my dismay when 2 of your cleaners came out of said toilets doing up trousers and straightening themselves up!. Absoloutley disgusting. I've the names of both. To say I'm appalled is an understatement. I came in to shop not witness sex acts. In uniform at the workplace! I'll be informing my friends and family. If this is how you allow your staff to behave! Disgusting if my daughter had been with me and saw that I'd have rang the polis straight away!

Great little pub. Had a wait for food, but it was worth it. Portions are huge. There is no such thing as 5 wings as the menu advertises was closer to 12. Guy, behind the bar was amazing. I couldn't fault him. Limited on tables is the only downside, but on a Tuesday night in October, got a seat.

The service here was so poor that I had to get up from the table and ask the staff to be served. They were just standing at the counter chatting. I asked for a draft beer with my meal and was curtly informed ‘This is a cocktail bar’. Seemed rather amusing as it is in a battered building adjoining the bus station. Hardly my image of a cocktail lounge. The food was not great( could not eat the mussels) and portion very small for £16 but I would not come back. In the town centre there are better places such as 88 and Dowry.

Mixed experience at Trellis. The cafe itself is lovely and clean and the cakes on offer are amazing and so lovely! Ideal for a coffee and cake stop! The menu for breakfast feels a little limited. Many of the dishes feel “egg heavy” but there are some other options. I feel like they are missing an opportunity for a brunch menu. Our recent experience was very mixed as we loved the food and coffees but the noise of the cafe in the bottom section was incredibly loud, and service was quite poor (uninterested staff, hard to get their attention). It could’ve been a bad and busy morning but it did stick with us and mirrors some of the other recent reviews. Please get back to the old Trellis we love and remember!

With a few global giants nearby this independent knocks them for six in terms of quality and value. Recently reopened, post covid closure and I urge people to support this and other independent businesses, but only if they deserve it as this one clearly does. I had a bacon and a square sausage roll for breakfast and both were lovely. Returned on my last day for another bacon roll and had a couple of takeout rolls for later on the long train ride back home to Birmingham. Nice staff, nice place, deserves support. Recommended.

Great food. Desserts especially (milk cake and biscoff French toast). Toastie was nice. Not what the photo on the menu shows but nice. Generous portion sizes for the price. Very pleasant, chatty and attentive young staff (apart from one who seemed to think that asking for an extra plate was a total inconvenience, tutted as she walked away and had to be asked three times for a glass of water). £3.40 for a small, not very hot cup of tea was a bit much. Manager was exceptionally nice and very good with all the patrons. He made us sit back down as we were leaving when he discovered it was my birthday. Arranged a huge sparkler and chocolate dipped strawberries while the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. Very embarrassing! Definitely worth a visit.

We were a group of four who visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The cafe was busy, not excessively so but we waited well over an hour for our food. Our drinks were finished but we did ask for tap water to keep us going - not knowing we would be charged 75p per glass of lukewarm water - not even an offering of ice! Never have I been charged for tap water. When the food eventually arrived, the chips were undercooked and had to be sent back. I ordered a further coffee which didn’t arrive until I had finished my food. Not a good experience at all and we certainly won’t be back.

Second visit to this lovely place, we were on our honeymoon and stopped by to have a bite to eat as we were staying locally. I knew what I wanted straight away, the steak pie with potatoes and veg, I had it last time we visited and it is the best steak pie Ive ever tasted, im a fussy eater but it is delicious. Also the lady who served us was very friendly and really down to earth, we had an amazing experience and will defently be back when we visit again next year.

I visited this café today with my friend, we are both dairy intolerant and there were no cakes/ biscuits or even a dairy free milk substitute to have in our tea, I thought that all restaurant's were supposed to offer this service, the staff were very unsympathetic and offered me crisps, I will tell all my friends and family NOT to visit.
