Edinburgh. Worlds most child-unfriendly city. The Street. Worlds most unfriendly bar. “No kids” barked as we tried to sit down.

Been vising my friends in Edinburgh and we accidentally spotted this place. It looked nice and modern so we thought we would give it a go. To our surprise we weren't disappointed....big choice of food, delicious coffee and friendly staff. Definitely, will visit again.

I visit the city on business trips on regular basis and I must say this has been my favourite place for a quick bite to eat since I first went there couple of years ago. Very tasty, fresh sandwiches in a nice, clean surrounding. The staff are always polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I was in this bar by accident, but I was pleasantly impressed with the efficient service of the girls that are working there, great choice of fresh sandwiches, delicious soups and good quality sound of music which is always nice! I'll definitely come back!

We were looking for somwhere to just have a break and something quick to eat away from the crowd and we have found it at the lovely Street Bar right in the middle of Conference Square! We had great lunch sandwiches were very tasty and freshly made. Staff was very friendly, efficient and extremely helpfull! We also had a piece of cake each and very nice coffee! I am allergic to quite a few things ... Staff was very happy help, inform me about allergens and advice me what I can choose. I will definitely recommend and I will be back for more. Thank you

I am loyal customer to Street bar. Loving to have my morning coffee and I must say it is the best one in the area. Very rich and tasty. Always chat to the girls who are really friendly, helpful and makes you very welcome in there. I also go back there to have my lunch few times a week and my favorite is chicken & avocado salad. Always freshly made!!! Would recommend this place to anyone!!!

The staff here are so unfriendly and miserable. If that wasn't bad enough the coffee is so terrible (weak and milk is always burnt). Food is very average - at least the prices are ok.

I think this place is a tad shooting above its station, it is in the middle of an office area and it is trying to be more than it needs to be I think, the workers need soups and sandwiches, which this place does and their soup is always lovely, but it is far too expensive to make it anything other than a place to go when it is raining and you don't want to hazard a walk to sainsburys or many of the other more reasonably priced lunch shops around. In my mind, they are not offering anything that doesnt exist in the area and so to charge £1.75 for a bit of cake is mental.

I booked a table for 7.30 on a Friday night and got a reminder from them by email the night before. We showed up first time at 6.50 and the place was in complete darkness, but we note that the opening hours showed Fridays as 7pm, so we went for a stroll. When we came back at 7.10, it was still in darkness and no sign of any tables being set up. After standing around discussing our options for a while, and still not seeing any movement inside, we decided that even if it was going to open, the chances of it being a good night were quite slim, so we reluctantly went elsewhere. There may have been a perfectly understandable reason for it being closed - but as I got an email the night before reminding me of my booking and requesting me to let them know if I couldn't make it, the last thing I expected was for the place to be closed.

I work in the area and haven't visited Street Bar for a good few months, since the charged me £2.50 for two gluten free biscuits! Anyway, I thought I'd give them another go...the service was terrible. No smile, no manners and the cheese and ham sandwich I ordered was put together in record time and I have no idea what kind of cheese was on it! It is really difficult to know what to order if you are looking at take away as the only menu up really talks about tapas and nothing else. My sandwich, can and crisps cost almost £5. I wish I'd gone to Sainsbury's (close by) and got their meal deal for £3! Perhaps things are different if you sit in, but I won't be trying this place again in a hurry.

Revisited for lunch to find that due to problems with licence there was no alcohol was being served. No problem we were there for food and had very nice tapas served by a friendly waitress who gave us a 10% discount as returning customers. Will definitely return when they sort out the licence problem

Had lunch here, very well looked after by staff. The tapas was excellent and good value, don't be put off thinking that tapas means little bites as it turned out to be substantial, delicious and beautifully presented. With the sun in the Square and a bottle of Estrella if you squinted your eyes you could be transported to a Spanish street cafe.

As it was a nice evening, we were looking for somewhere nice for a catch up after work. I know StreetBar does a nice lunch, so we gave it a go in the evening. We enjoyed a very bottle of Italian wine and some lovely tapas, with my friend being particularly impressed by the the salmon. I would recommend it to anyone, especially on a nice night at one of the outside tables.

Nice place in a quiet area, we were the only table in on a Friday night...atmosphere was quiet relaxed considering but I wouldn't say the food lived up to expectations. Wasn't so much tapas as nibbles and whilst is was pleasant we weren't wowed. Wine was lovely and staff were friendly but based on the food I'm not sure I would return.

Visited this wonderful cafe/bar just off Lothian Road in the centre of Edinburgh. The variety of food was amazing, delicious rolls, salads and tapas, all freshly made. Nice selection of wines on offer too. I visited at lunchtime with friends and although full when we arrived, a table quickly became available. As it's open in the evenings too, we will definitely be back when we can spend more time and not have to rush back to the office! The staff were very friendly however I must give a special mention to Donna who talked us through the range of food and wine on offer and helped us with our final choice, delicious. A nice refreshing change from Subway/Costa for lunch, well worth a visit.

The name is a bit of a misnomer, as its a wee bit off the street in Conference square, just off Morrison St. My google maps had me going in circles for a while, but that might just be my skills...The tapas was full of flavor, not stingily sized, we shared 4 plus a wee bit of hummus and garlic bread, which was bang on and left me full up. This was accompanied by a bottle of house red ,nero d'avola - also tasty and well matched by our host for tapas, fruity, flavoursome but not heavy. The missus also got some great almonds to go, recommended by our host, who had helped with recommendations from the tapas menu, and was chatty and attentive throughout the evening, but balanced it well to give us room to chat, even though it was pretty quiet on the night of the visit. Great wee place, well worth seeking out, lovely flavoursome tapas, nice wine and great service all a stones throw from haymarket station!

After 5 days of non-stop tapas eating in Barcelona, my husband and I were desperate to try somewhere different for tapas in our home town other than the chain type tapas restaurants around. The food was so authentic it brought us right back to being in Spain!! Freshly cooked dishes with a weekly changing specials board - we went for 6 tapas dishes including spicy chorizo with chickpeas, spiced veg quesadillas with smoked Dunlop cheddar and herring with garlic, parsley and lemon to mention my favourites. The olives and almonds on the nibbles board were scrummy too and all washed down very nicely with a cool glass of prosecco! Very reasonably priced and super friendly accommodating staff too! Would love to come back for lunch soon and try some of their other tapas dishes!

I booked this new exciting Tapas and Wine bar as the venue for my work leaving night. It was absolutely perfect and the night went faultlessly. Very central in Edinburgh and probably undiscovered thus far! It is an ideal place to meet and start your night off after a busy day in the office. We had around 30 people in our company and it was exactly the right size to accommodate us although it could of taken more.StreetBar were very accommodating by buying in different drinks for people that didn't drink wine or beer. We had a selection spirits added to the drinks available which kept everyone happy.I also pre ordered tapas for us to enjoy and also line their stomachs. The food was absolutely superb and will definitely be back with the family in the near future! Chorizo cooked in Red Wine and the Provencal Olives are out this world.Lastly I would like to thank the staff who pretty much done everything for me. I just sat back and enjoyed my night.

Went with voucher and were warmly welcomed and seated. Voucher was for a bottle of wine and 4 tapas. There were 5 tapas available and these change regularly. We chose chorizo in red wine hot smoked salmon serano ham and manchego cheese and bruschetta together with a bottle of south African red. The tapas were put together by the polish chef and served by a charming polish girl. We visit Spain regularly but have to say these tapas put to shame a lot of the tapas served there. Will definitely visit again

Popped in here for a milkshake after seeing the extensive menu for "create your own" milkshake on their website. However, they only had their House Specials on their boards and I felt we were being rushed to choose what we wanted. I had the strawberry dream milkshake which was lovely but was a bit odd with marshmallows. There was a discount available for local businesses too so I can imagine it is very popular at lunch time.

I popped in at lunch time and had the Pea & Ham soup and a coffee. The soup was mucho tasty and miles better than the bland stuff served in the works canteen. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I like my coffee slightly differently from the way they would normally serve it and the staff were happy to oblige. A perfect place to escape from work to.

Belying its corporate setting, this little gem of a coffee shop offers a nice variety of freshly made food with an excellent range of fruit shakes, milshakes and great coffee selection. It also stocks a treasure trove of retro treats to round off any meal. The key to its success however lies not in what it sells but rather with the people who sell it. A warm and welcoming team who provide first class service and a fine line in banter to cheer up even the most dreich and dreary of Scottish days.

I recently came across a new coffee shop in Edinburgh ,it was at the back corner of Conference Square, past All Bar One.Friendly staff, great coffee and even better shakes!, i had the Strawberry Dream, my friend the Blueberry Bomb, with their home made blueberry compote.I will take the kids next time for a treat and the staff mentioned they will now be opening on a Saturday and doing kids shakes parties, it's going to be a long school holiday if the weather doesn't pick up so i am off to get my kids party booked asap.

If you are looking for something a little different when you need a refreshment then Street Bar is for you. Whilst serving coffee fit to compete with any of the big brand chains (and offering a much better loyalty scheme) the main aim is milkshakes. Imagine your favourite chocolate bar as a drink - well this is the place for you. You can follow the steps displayed on the wall to design your own shake (great for something different to do with the kids, but equally as enjoyable for an adult!) or pick one of the house specials, there is something for every taste and mood and healthy options as well. I personally loved the breakfast shake and the chocolate dream was fantastic. Situated just behind the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh it is well worth bypassing the other more obvious places and seeking this place out.

My mum and son visited the restaurant on 6th July. Unfortunately, my mum took unwell and an ambulance had to be called. My son was extremely upset to see his grandma unwell but said the staff were absolutely excellent making my mum comfortable and supporting both him and my mum. They actually closed the restaurant whilst they waited for the ambulance and refused to take any money for the meal they had started eating. I want to say a massive thank you for the kindness shown to my mum and son, it really meant a lot. From what both my mum and son fed back, the staff were outstanding, fetching my mum cushions to make her comfortable and making cups of tea. You are all an absolute credit and so compassionate. Thank you so much.
