Parliament Cafe in Edinburgh, City of

Il est assez rare de devoir passer des contrôles de sécurité pour prendre un café. Une fois l'étape passée, l'endroit est plutôt agréable, le personnel souriant et le choix relativement étoffé pour une cafétéria. Situé juste en face de Holyrood House.

Went with my son for lunch and 24 hours later I still can't quite believe how awful the food was . I had soup which looked lovely but was like eating a bowl of string in a green flavourless sauce . My son had the "haggis ". Being Scottish I've eaten haggis all my life. This looked white and was absolutely fowl! Actually asked if it was vegetarian but was told no. Any tourist trying it will never try haggis again. Reported all this to staff but they had little to say. Left and had to buy a second lunch elsewhere.

We took the opportunity to have a snack and a drink in this cafe whilst visiting the Parliament Building. Great menu and lovely food at very reasonable prices.

We called in for a drink before our tour and liked it so much we returned for lunch. It’s great to see a decent cafe within an other business. Great drinks and a healthy thoughtful offering of food. Nice, unassuming service. Good access to the little extras. Well done.

Si vous êtes de passage pour visiter le parlement écossais ou bien à la sortie du Palais de Holyrood, autant en profiter pour se poser quelques instants ici. L'endroit y est tranquille, propre, les plats proposés sont bons. Les tarifs raisonnables et abordables pour Edinburgh. J'y ai pris un sandwich et deux gâteaux (dont le fameux shortbread écossais), avec une boisson, le tout pour moins de 10 Livres. Ils proposent de l'eau aromatisée gratuite (au citron). Il permet d'écrire ses cartes postales achetées dans la boutique du parlement (dont les timbres qui sont aussi vendus à cet endroit !). Un petit coin de restauration sans prétention, mais qui rempli parfaitement son office. A@ Xilopa

Great selection of food - we were there for lunch. Very friendly staff. Well laid out and spacious. Well priced and well worth a visit.

During a visit to the Scottish Parliament, we had tea and coffee at the cafe inside. It is a self-serve style cafeteria and is very spacious and clean. They also serve light snacks and pastries. Prices are similar to other coffee shops in Scotland.

We had a spot of lunch here. Two of us had a very tasty vegetable soup with a bread roll. One of us had a hearty scone with jam. Reasonably priced lunch. Clean environment. Food selection was limited but adequate.

Cheese scones need more cheese but lovely texture and reasonably priced.Tea etc very good. Clean loos always a bonus.

Really liked this cafe. Very airy, modern and great scones and cakes! Good service and well worth a visit when visiting the Parliament.

Airy pleasant place to eat before the tour. Choice of sandwiches, hot or toast, cake, scones, crisps and drinks plus soup of the day

After walking around with a guide a stop for a coffee at the end is well worth it. The prices are reasonable and the place appears clean, bright and welcoming. Scones are good too.

We had time to kill before attending an afternoon debate and stopped in here for a bite to eat. Excellent, very fresh Ploughman's Roll and large juicy apple. And not one of those floating tea bags in a cup either, a really good size pot of tea !

This modest cafeteria is actually perfect for a coffee and pastry or a soup. Reasonable process and well prepared to order items. The vegetable soup and coffee were a hit.

I always like coming back to this cafe for coffee and scones. The tea and cakes and biscuits are also excellent. Friendly service. a light airy room. Very reasonable prices. I come back time and time again when visiting Edinburgh. Great spot.

Mi esposa y yo recientemente tomamos café y un aperitivo en el Café del Parlamento después de una visita guiada al edificio del Parlamento.

Lindo lugar dentro del Parlamento Escoces, nos tomamos unos capuchinos en un descanso en la visita a ese maravillosos edificio, atencion lenta, lindo ambiente moderno como todo el lugar, precios un poco elevados...

Cafeteria des Parlaments (mit Security Check), mit dem Blick ins Parlament verbinden, nüchtern eingerichtet, aber für den Tea und einen Snack (insb. als Regenstop) erfüllte es seinen Zweck vollkommen, die Servietten mit Parlament Aufdruck sind ein kleines Souvenir

Hemos usado este café varias veces en los últimos años y han sido tan impresionados que se lo he recomendado a mis amigos. Por desgracia, la calidad de la comida y el servicio ha ido cuesta abajo desde nuestra anterior visita. Nada sobre el escocés de envoltorios sándwiches aburrido firmes en Stevenage, Hertfordshire según el paquete. El café estaba tibio como el servicio, un triste contraste a cómo estaba antes. Ha cambiado la dirección?

Lovely clean cafe, friendly and efficient staff. I had pea and mint soup which was delicious. The sandwiches looked good too. No hot food as such - hot paninis and toasties. The hot chocolate was frothy and superb!

Warm welcome ,efficient reception staff. Nice room but cold ,no thermastat in bathroom so cold.My friend and I had bought the 2 nightAutumn break where one nights dinner was inclusive .Dinner at 7,30 was very disappointing parts of my hot starter of blackpudding with apple and carrot puree was fridge temperature ,and my friend was searching for the Brie in her greasy pile of Pastry, Our 2nd course ofFillet steak was also disapointing, 6 pound supplement,extra supplement for peppercorn sauce which I chose. This course had accompaniements/garnish of what tasted like canned mushrooms and 3 baked cherry tomatoes.The chips were skin on oven chips that had barely kissed the oven which if properly cooked we would have eaten,and the sauce was melted butter with a slake of cream added and finely ground peppercorn added to the sauce,no wine noticeable to cut the grease. My steak was in 3 bits on the plate...medium rare fillet, we gave up to have a3rd course .Breakfast the next couple of days equally disappointing,had eaten all the toast and coffee by the time 2 rashers of bacon and 2 eggs arrived half an hour later! My friend sat on the desk share in our bedroom and it buckled under her and she is not a heavyweight! THE HOUSEKEEPING skills and RECEPTION STAFF generally I would say very efficient,Waiting staff trying hard let down by the kitchen or menu. On entering the restaurant on Friday evening at 7.30 you were greeted by the smell of Coley hotpot which wasn,t very nice.

Visitamos el parlamento con un visitante joven de Europa y decidió utilizar el café para una comida ligera.

Después de un fascinante recorrido por el maravilloso edificio del Parlamento Escocés, o una visita a la excelente exhibición Harry benson, imaginar la decepción para sentarse con una taza de té encantadora y uno de estos horribles, tenían, cartón bollos. Más seco y sin sabor estoy seguro estas son las peores bollos en la ciudad.

As the Queen was visiting Holyrood Palace across the road and we were unable to visit same we enjoyed our visit to the Scottish Parliament with a quick lunch of sandwiches and lattes beforehand.

Es mucho mejor que el de Londres por una milla. La comida es muy buena y no es caro. Hora de salida la pantalla pública fuera mientras estás alrededor de su pena. Cuenta que el edificio es un poco extraño.

Wij aten eerst zeer lekker via de roomservice in het hotel vanuit Parliament café, de volgende avond bezochten we het restaurant zelf dat ook als ontbijtruimte van het hotel dienst doet. Het personeel probeert goed te doen maar komt maar killetjes over.

Porque la visita era tan mala, me escribió una tarjeta "Saber cómo es" que está en cada mesa. Pero no pude encontrar dónde dejar, pues esta crítica. sentado aquí en mi ordenador portátil en la tarjeta me escribió ayer. Esta queja es sobre la configuración y sistema, no el personal. El personal hacen lo que les digan, ya sea bueno o malo.

Ao final da Royal Mile em Edimburgo as pessoas normalmente vão visitar o castelo da rainha. Mas na frente está o parlamento escocês que pouca gente visita. Vale a pena dar uma entrada. Você passa por uma revista básica feito em aeroporto com detector de metais e pronto. O edifício é completamente moderno e bem bonito. Quando eu fui, tive a sorte de ver uma exposição de bordados que contavam a história da Escócia. Além disso tomei um café com scones no Parliament café que é bem iluminado e bem bom para lanches rápidos. O sistema é de self-service e a variedade restrita, mas tudo muito gostoso.
