Myself and children visited recently for the first time. The staff were friendly and the food very good value for money. I had the adult's breakfast and they had children's size. Very good food and very reasonably priced. My only very slight grumble was some of the tables are too close together. We will definitely be back. Thank you x

I would rate my Ribeye Steak tonight as one of the best ive ever had. Cooked to perfection and no steak knife needed here ! The most tasty peppercorn sauce. Highly recommend. Beatifully presented and so tasty. Will be back !

I think this is the friendliest cafe in Shrewsbury. Been coming here since September and have nothing but positive things to say. All the staff are great. Carrying things to your table. Nothing is too much trouble. Aaron is especially attentive, I was having a particularly bad day, he noticed that I was upset and discreetly came over to check I was ok, then bought me chocolate. It restored my faith in the human race, it's the little things that they do that makes a big difference. This place has the added bonus of being dog friendly (great for my spaniel - she loves it as much as me, so it's a win win!) BTW food and coffee are amazing too 👍

Ordered cottage pie and potato was cold and not browned off like cottage pie should be and not very warm also presentation was not very good my meal was ok chips good but did not like the real cheese on the burger.Beer was fine bit disapointing based on the reviews for your pub that’s why we chose it but had to retreat to a chippy.

Second time visiting, this time with my mum and family along with 3 dogs. We were running abit late with our plans and they were more than happy to push our booking back a little. Didn’t feel rushed or anything and they were great with the dogs and made us feel like we weren’t an inconvenience. Amazing food like the last time we visited and will definitely come again. Especially as we know it’s dog friendly too.

Popped by with my two children late afternoon on Saturday, the kiddos loved playing football pool in the garden and made friends with a lovely dog, before we went inside to order our food. The food was great, very nice, well priced and very generous portions. The pizza was huge and the waiter was happy to box up what my daughter didn’t finish to take home. The atmosphere friendly and calm. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A lovely afternoon/early evening was had by us all. Many thanks team red barn.. see ya again soon

We arrived at Bishops Castle on a Wednesday, the first day of our walking/hiking holiday. Not many things were open on Wednesday between lunch and dinner, but The Six Bells was open and the perfect place for an afternoon beer or cider with lots of outdoor seating. The weather was beautiful and it was a lovely way to enjoy the outdoors with a drink.

An Exceptional Stay at The Bucks Head I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Bucks Head, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment i arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The people truly made this stay special. Sarah and Ruby went above and beyond, offering helpful advice and always willing to assist with anything i needed. Their friendliness and professionalism were a standout part of the experience and really added a personal touch that you don't find everywhere. The facilities were excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The location is fantastic too, making it easy to explore the local area while enjoying a peaceful and charming setting. If you’re looking for a place that combines great people, excellent amenities, and an ideal location, The Bucks Head is the perfect choice. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family!

From having your scan as you go shopping re scanned and pulled out of your shopping bags at the checkout defeating the purpose of packing as you go, but more frustrating is the the staffs attitude, literally unpacking your bags items, to then just chuck everything back in( most items she just threw back into my trolly not even in the bag) breaking items in the process, and waiting 10 Minutes for the pleasure of this, great thanks Tesco. To some of the shortest use by dates, some times you can’t do a full shop because meats and veg will only last the next day, 2 at a push, and this happens more often than not. To increasing your dine in deal for valentines, usually £12, today £18 for the same thing. And the staff, rude, abounoctiious, and more times than not blocking the isles with zero thought. The car park, try to get out of this Place when it’s even a little busy, and you’ll be queuing from the car park to the main traffic lights for ages.

Quiet little pub with a good selection of real ales. Dog friendly and well worth walking up the steep Cartway to get here!
