Tesco in Shropshire

Shopping experience ok. Not enough organic products!! Tesco's seem to have stopped doing a lot of organic. Very disappointing.

My wife, my self and my mother-in-law called today for our breakfast......I has to be the worst breakfast we have ever encountered. A cooked full English breakfast has to be pretty much the easiest meal to make. Tesco cafe killed it. The freshest thing on our plates was the eggs, and they were under cooked. The hash browns exploded when an attempt was made to cut them. I'm convinced the bacon could be used to repair shoes. I can only assume things were cooked in bulk at the time of opening, then left to harden in a hotplate....That will certainly be our last visit too that cafe

Wish they’d stop reorganising the shelves and turn the awful music down. A million times better than Morrisons, but still not a great for neurodiverse customers.

came into tesco cafe for a all day breakfast, was sat down waiting for over half an hour after watching people get their food who had came in after us, food was alr nothing special.

This wopping super store has just about everything I brought my wife's anniversary outfit here it's a jumpsuit she still wears it and I brought my lawn mower here it still works and I got it 2 and a half years ago who would have thought very happy with all off my shopping here

this watermelon i bought today ， how fresh it is for selling ！i get money back ， but it take me half hour drive ，pay more fuel fee than refund amount ， Avoid ！

Disgusting condition of toilets. No toilet paper in gents toilets and that was for an hour and a half. I know it was because I went for an eye test and arrived early. There was a man with a cleaning trolley who seemed to be wandering about aimlessly. The toilet lids were loose, one tap wasn't working and there was soap in only one dispenser. I think the initials on the inspection form were AJ. Come on, this is 2024 not Victorian Britain. Management needs to pull its finger out!

Very busy store! Treated myself to lunch in the cafe, absolutely delicious cheese and spring onion toastie, with a pot full of crunchy fresh salad on the side. There are charging points for phones in the cafe which is very handy to know. Oh and there's free wi-fi inside the store.Staff on the shop floor were very helpful as I don't usually shop here but I needed a prescription filled at their pharmacy. That was ready well within the 30 mins they advised. Lots of home departments ie kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, garden etc. I was so impressed that I will shop here again in the future.

Dear tescos extra, shrewsbury... Instead of 'every little helps'..... How about 'we can't be bothered'..... As I was unable to walk far on an injured leg, I asked for help at customer services to get four items I needed, only to be told there were no staff available.....she then just carried on what she doing and I was ignored. The store has two electric 'buggies' which I didn't find until I was on the way out of the store..... but no one advised me of these or offered to bring me one. I'm a regular shopper at this particular store and today I was hugely disappointed........ The situation was saved by a wonderful customer who had overheard the conversation and offered to help. She took my list of items and dashed around the shop collecting them, bringing each back to me to check each was correct. Then helped me at check out. I don't know her name but I felt like hugging her Thank you I hope this reaches her I really don't know what's happening with this country but I know we'd be lost without such people

Poor staff attitude. Went for breakfast around 10am on a Monday. Cafe was about 2/3 full, but not especially busy. Went to sit on a table by the windows to be told by the lady serving'' I would appreciate it if you sat somewhere else as I don't have anyone to clear the table. Please go an sit over there''. There was literally a small plate and cup on the table which I was going to clear myself, and the table was clean. Whilst she did you the words 'appreciate' and 'please', the tone of the voice and the look on her face really showed she wasn't being polite or helpful, and it was more of an order than a request. I didn't bother to explain I was going to clear it, nor did I bother staying for breakfast. Very poor attitude, won't be going back there.

Good sized Tesco, good range of products but I think the one at Wrekin retail park is better.

Great little Tesco for a quick and simple shop

HOW IS THE PHARMACY SO INEPT?!?! It’s absolutely infuriating. Every time I have EVER visited, off peak and peak, there is nearly a half hour wait. That queue is almost always a majority of people who just want something over the counter. It seems to take them 10 minutes to process one prescription but the idea of serving the other 8 people who just want some pain killers or sleeping pills while they wait for that is beyond their comprehension. EVERY transaction I’ve made has taken under a minute. EVERY visit I made is maddening. EVERY time the queue stretches past the opticians and nearly all of those people just want to buy something. How is it so hard to facilitate that?!?!

Baby changing facilities were disgusting. It smelt awful and all the nappy bins were smeared in faeces. Not a sanitary place to change your baby

I was looking for socks but because of poor eyesight and wanting a specific type I asked a member of the Service Support Team, Rachel if she would help me. She was patient and helpful and listened to all my requirements. Consequently, she suggested and showed me a pack of socks that were ideal. Later Rachel also showed me how to better use the scanning machines, as I said I often found them difficult. Again her patience was exemplary and she gave helpful and useful advice. Thank you Rachel.

Been here once before, plenty of parking, clean toilets, big store and friendly staff. Also a fuel station attached on site.

Standard 'big' Tesco. Plenty of stock to choose from. Clothes and normal food shopping available too. Big bonus for it having a pharmacy in it too! Parking is ample and you never feel risky leaving your car here either.

Great restaurant with very friendly staff. Excellent choice of food. The biggest issue for me is that recently the amount of topping on the jacket potatoes has halved. If you have the tuna mayonnaise you're lucky to get one small spoon of tuna, and sadly you end up eating dry potato. If they start putting a decent amount of topping on the jacket potatoes then I will return to this cafe.

Great place fantastic food awesome staff friendly

One of the handiest supermarkets in Shrewsbury in terms of selection and range. They've an extensive selection of products at good prices. They open fairly late although it's unfortunate they kept thier reduced hours since covid as it used to be a very handy place if you needed anything under the sun in the middle of the night!

The best Supermarket Cafe for many miles around. As usual the service and food was great. The staff are always friendly and they keep the tables clean which is very important to me. Nearly forgot, the Coffee was great as usual. We travel from Oswestry mainly for the best Cafe around.

Pharmacy open till 10pm on a Friday night, good but still have to go back in a week to collect the balance of a prescription Used the in house cafe today, Latte was very nice.

Another lovely lunch at Tesco Cafe Shrewsbury. The whole team there are fab. Nikki is always really helpful and so is the lady who served us today, we don't know her name but she has dark hair and is from the north east of England. Really enjoyed our food and hot drinks. It is a HUGE plus that we can get pouring cream with our coffee. Always great, always enjoyable. Thank you!

Had everything that is needed and more

Been shopping here now for many years. A large well organised store with spacious isles which makes it easy to get around, even at busier times. They stock most things you could want such as groceries, bakery, chilled and frozen, household cleaning essentials, alcohol and soft drinks, clothing, meal deals etc. Being a larger store they also have a cafe, phone shop, opticians and pharmacy, as well as areas for basic kitchenware, homeware, seasonal goods, greeting cards etc. Over the years the home entertainment section (tech department?) Has seemingly vanished, with laptops, TVs, DVDs and so on no longer being sold. Another growing trend is the move to self service, with the manned checkout tills having nearly halved in the last decade, however, to me personally this is not an issue. There is also a large carpark and filling station. I have always found the staff to be approachable and friendly.

Brilliant helpfull staff. Been going for years but recently less Cashiers and more self service so will start to shop locally with small businesses. Really grinds my gears.

Pharmacy low on pills, prices more expensive than other supermarkets, too many self-serve tills, access to and from car park is rubbish!

Typical supermarket, friendly staff and ease of shopping good parking and access, had what we wanted and more also fuel station .

If this store was closer, I'd be there every day. Can pick up some very good bargains there. Fresh produce very good ,meat especially good also a great range of fresh fish ,vegetables, bread infact not much you can't buy . There's also a chemist ,optician, phone shop , cafe ,bakers ,clothing ,bedding ,kitchen ware ,flowers even camping chairs . My one stop sells all . Love the place.

Cafe needs a clean and toilet needs repaired

Bright and airy, a bit noisy and maybe too bright for some. Prices are reasonable

Tesco extra is my favourite store. Great value products using the clubcard. Well priced cafe to have a break and refreshments.

Reasonable sized Tesco with plenty of parking

Surprised and disappointed that this store does not have EV chargers in place yet. 22 and 50 kWhr chargers would be extremely useful when spending 1 hour plus doing a weekly shop and cafe stop. Come on Tesco. You have installed them in the much smaller Welshpool Tesco, albeit lower charge rates.

Toilets are disgusting. Sanitary bins overflowing. Yuk.

Had to go shopping on Friday 16 th December the store was very busy by the time I got in one of the checkout cues I realised I would not get through checkout before l had to get my husband to the drs for a vital injection . I found a supervisor who is a lovely lady I explained my situation and bless her she had my trolley load into a cool room so I was able to get husband for his injections on time . I went straight back to store found said lady who told me which cue to join and she went and got my trolley and brought it back to me . I just want to say how very helpful she was considering how Very busy she and the whole staff were . This is the second time Tesco have treated me like l was the most important customer in the store so thank you and keep up the good work

Very poor shopping experience now they are pushing the Club card Discounts as if your not in the Club don't want your business

price maximisation policy very evident .. Tesco are for profit pirates .. increasing prices by over 50% for the sake of it is wrong .. avoid and go to Lidl across the street

I bought a pack of two jelly's with fruit and when I opened one it had mould in it.The use by date was the 11 12 22 and I bought it on the third, when I took it back to the store the person on customer service gave me my money back but didn't seem bothered about it.very poor service and unhelpfully staff they need retraining not good for the company

Large store with petrol station

Really poor. No eggs at all. Hardly any crisps. They must have been expecting a delivery. I won't be rushing back there.

Absolutely disgusting, security chasing me up the aisle to ask me to remove face covering and when i refused said its there policy yet no signs stating it which resulted in me having to leave store, then witnesd security chasing another person up aisle for same reason, do they have nothing better to do than hassle peoples decisions over there own health!!

Standard tesco. Every time we come here the shelves in the home decor section tend to be bare and usually a range of the newer stuff and very old stock. Nothing amazing about this one.

I wanted to give Vikki in the Cafe the recognition she deserves for her hard work. After reviewing this site I would like to report her as the hardest worker here, a little hidden gem of an asset Vikki is. Great rapport with customers. I can easily see her in a higher role. Very well spoken and was surprised the Manager Matt was not moving her up the ladder. Next time I visit I would love to see Vikki in the Cafe in a higher role. Also a special mention to Ben. Very helpful in finding everything I was looking for. Was lovely to meet the Manager Matt today. I will be back in 1 month to see any changes or impact Matt has had on the team. Please ensure the staff I have mentioned get the recognition they deserve I will be returning to do a follow up. Thank you. 5 stars well deserved today.

It's Tesco. Great effort is made to make them all the same.

Free parking for 3 hours, lots of spaces. Very large with two floors. Love to shop here but lack of Asian food (such as rice and noodles) choices. It is regional because there are much more choices for the Tesco in East London.

Store always looks like it's been ransacked no matter what time you go in,toilets altho cleaned always smell awful,checkout staff very slow

Has mostly what you want in stock. Store is kept clean and staff are friendly. Cafe is decent having visited a couple of times. Store could do with some TLC, has quite a few issues in the winter or wet weather. Road to the car park floods on the entrance regularly, the drainage on the building is terrible like a full on waterfall. Maybe it's a feature? Traffic entering is usually ok but regular queues when leaving especially at peak times on Sundays when it mixes with the market traffic.

Everything we needed and Lyn, the lady on the checkout, was so helpful and pleasant.

Visited the cafe uncleared tables everywhere a customer was kind enough to let me know they were leaving and would I like to sit there I went to sit down and the rudest cafe manageress shouted at me telling me to find a clean empty table (are you having a laugh I thought ) I promptly cancelled my order before payment and left never again another case of paying covid rules lip service staff congregating laughing and joking how about cleaning some tables ,Just because it’s one level up from a greasy spoon cafe doesn’t mean the staff can speak to a customer like dirt I expect as good a service whatever the establishment is like ,I’ve Also been working non stop through the covid pandemic and I’ve not screamed at clients embarrassing them ,I hope a customer turns on her one day and embarrasses her but I’m not that type of person I respect people and I just leave, i do hope someone else tells her and embarrasses her .

Excellent, says it all. Clean, and wide isles with friendly staff. To top it all is the perfectly clean and well managed Caffe. Every time when we sit there with our breakfast treat or just a coffee I watch what is going on around me with a critical eye, they deserve a full 5 star rating.

We have our weekly shop delivered . All the delivery drivers have been fantastic - extremely helpful , professional and very kind . Nothing is too much trouble . Thank you for such a excellent service.

Good shop, sells a variety of food, drink, toiletries and house hold items, also a variety of clothes. This is where I'd recommend going if you needed something special for example modelling balloons! They would definitely stock them. This shop is big enough for Social Distancing with huge isles also Covid barriers up at tils. Disabled access available also disabled toilets are in store. The cafe is nice for a coffee. Also a tip for anyone returning to school, loads of uniform left and stationery! All in all great supermarket! :)

Nice big supermarket, has most things I need.

Large car Park. Entered one way and exit another door. Store fully stocked and wide shopping, isles. Tills all manned. Checkouts a little to close if Covid19 is to be taken into count. Overall a impressive store.

I have had to update my review due to things not getting better since my last review 3 years ago. Certain products have decreased in quality but at the same time have increased in price, and this isn't due to the current situation that things have decreased because this has been going on for at least 4 years. If you are unable to do large shops in-store either due to a disability or lack of transport, then I would suggest using a taxi to get your shopping home especially if live near the supermarket as Tesco have increased their delivery prices once again.

While shopping today I was struggling to locate a jar of sundried tomatoes. I asked one of the staff who was " shopping" and after giving me directions he left what he was doing and took me to the shelf. I doubt I would have found it otherwise and was very grateful to him. So 5 stars for Kevin who was so helpful and a credit to the store!! Pat Davies

Bit expensive but clean .tidy .busy staff picking orders .

Ok but too small for a Tesco, occasionally call in for a meal deal if hungry and passing.

Visited here last week, stopped at the door by a very aggressive short belittling man to be told angrily "You cannot come into the shop together" I politely explained that the young lad with me was a child in care and I cannot leave him alone. The man looked at me, shook his head and asked "Well where is your carers card?" I showed him my carers card to be then told "Well if you don't wear a landyard, how am I to know" the answer to this is that, its not exactly fair to wear a landyard highlighting the poor kid is in care, hence why we don't wear uniforms. I was then told "pull your mask over your nose" to which I had to explain i also have a card for exemption but wear the mask to prevent judgmental and small minded people from giving me a hard time. Honestly, if ita not bad enough the general public going on a power trip to then get it from your staff the moment I walk through the doors. I know its tough times for everybody, but we really have to stop judging and projecting our frustrations onto eachother. Won't be visiting again, thats for sure.!

Staff very rude couldn't move in the isles for workers doing internet shopping they don't stick to 2 meter distance and when spoken to very rude and won't move so you can't get to items on shelves.

People walking around with no masks. What's the point in security if they don't do anything? Felt very unsafe.

A wide range of products to buy from many parts of the world. Well stock. Plenty of car parking spaces. Always use Tesco clubcard for member discount and offers. Love shopping here.

Stopped for breakfast in the Cafe. Excellent customer service, covid all in place and food was good, salmon bagel was excellent!

First time I've been back to the store since the early days of the pandemic. Very surprised and concerned to see that most of the staff were wearing no face coverings. Apparently the 'management' have told them they don't have to wear these if they don't want to! Also they have been told not to challenge members of the public who come in without a face covering. Poor leadership Tesco, and setting a bad example. If you are sensible (especially if you have Covid risk factors) I would avoid shopping there. Go to Morrisons, much more concientious & socially responsible staff.

Well organised and got in without a queue, well stocked even toilet rolls.

Appalling, no trolleys at the front of the store then when you get into the store no baskets available. Called in for the first time in ages, wouldn’t bother coming back. Tesco in Whitchurch actually have a customer service ethic, and have a system that works. Perhaps you should swap managers.

Really really disappointed in this store recently, I am a regular customer and I feel the standard has dropped dramatically recently. The veg and fruit section not only has empty baskets but the fruit and veg are droopy and sad and not fresh at all, in fact I was so disappointed that I took photos to show the manager to compare with another store whose counters were world class. I could not find a manager on the floor that could help me. I walked round the store and so many shelves needed restocking, empty places all over the store and some places really shabby with torn bags and broken boxes. The egg section had run out of free range medium eggs except for two boxes which enclosed several broken eggs. Before I get criticised for this post please take the trouble to walk round the store and take note. I have given two stars for the location which is convenient to where I live only.. I am happy to show the photos if a manager is happy to get hold of me . I think Tesco needs a shake up. I look forward to a response B. Bromley

Loved it very easy for most things you want or needs

Very large store with plenty of parking. Offers a vast selection of food, clothing and non food items. Lovely cafe.

Shame about the poor attitude of the female member of staff tonight that refused to allow 3 people try clothes on and locked the door then went and stood by customer services
