Excellent service Need more staff, They work so hard

Staff are very friendly and welcoming and make you feel right at home. There are lots of drinks to choose from and even serve food now. Lovely colours and furniture inside and tastefully decorated. Came here to meet a friend on his birthday and was pleasantly surprised. The name is a throwback to its previous life as a proper Chemist/Pharmacy shop. Pop round if you've not been as it's pretty warm, welcoming, and funky cool and, no sports TV, just music in the background, phew! Cheers, guys, for a lovely experience and visit

Pleasant young lady behind the bar , they are obviously understaffed as she was run off her feet. Don’t sell sparkling water in a bar, very odd, Ordered the mega breakfast, shouldn’t have bothered , everything was deep fried, very cheap ingredients and very greasy, worst £12 I’ve spent on food in a long time.

Had a pint of Madri tasted like it had been left in the line for days, the atmosphere in the pub was flat

Absolutely atrocious service. Used to come here all the time and thought it was absolutely lovely, but today took the p*ss and I won’t be coming back. We were the first people in the restaurant at 09:10 and didn’t see our food till an hour later. The staff were completely oblivious to the absolute circus they were running. We ordered two coffees which took 10 minutes to turn up and had to wait a further 25 minutes for all of the milkshakes we had ordered to turn up. I had to order my second drink before even receiving my first as I knew it was going to take a while to turn up. The food took another 30 minutes to turn up- which I feel it’s important to note they only put a rush on when we explained we had a rather ravenous two year old with us. During this time other tables were fed, watered and left and others cancelled their orders completely due to the shambolic mess. When the lukewarm food eventually turned up we had to eat on a messy, sticky table- with food stuck in the grooves, left to go mouldy. I received my avocado and scrambled egg on toast with a withered lettuce garnish and a singular slice of toast and wished I had ordered a bigger meal based on the waiting time. My best friend asked politely if she could swap the contents of her full English (egg/tomato/mushroom) for extra bacon, hash brown and sausage etc and was told this was against the “rules” by a poor young waiter who had basically been thrown to the wolves- and seemed to be running the whole restaurant alone- we have never had an issue with this at any other cafe/ restaurant. After the poor service and food, we went to pay and explained to the waiter that we were severely disappointed with the service we had received, no reprimands were made by the restaurant to rectify their mistakes and we were charged full price for the full English that had half the contents removed. The staff couldn’t organise a p*ss up in a brewery and I wouldn’t bother unless you want waste you day.

Nice place with a lot to offer however it would benefit from some soft furnishings for acoustic reasons.

Pleasant staff - smallest sausage I have ever seen on my £6.50 breakfast - the rest was reasonable The walls behind the high seating area need a good clean absolutely covered in drinks that have gone up the wall.

Arrived on a Saturday night, door staff on the doors who were friendly but the place was chock full (with people a lot younger than ourselves) with no chance of getting to the bar without a long wait. The pictures of the venue in the daytime make it look a completely different type of place so maybe a visit during the day next time around.

The breakfast was disgusting, half cooked. Never going back there. Gone right down hill. Shame really as used to be lovely.

Call in for the first time walked passed so many time. It was really nice and relaxed. We ordered a platter with was really really nice great sausage and dips

I went in to pick up my prescription... They didn't have it so had a strawberry milkshake and a full English instead. The food is good, reasonably priced, friendly staff etc.. Would recommend.

Stunning little place and great breakfast

I'm not sure if it's meant to be trendy but the environment seems a little unfinished, absence of pictures or decor makes this place feel less than welcoming. Staff polite but lacking enthusiasm. Coffee was just a cup of coffee, nothing like a cappuccino it's was supposed to be. Food was nice enough but side salad looked like it belonged to yesterday. Overall underwhelming.

Slow Service, Sticky tables, very Impractical disabled toilet, Soggy poor salads and over priced drinks and food. Lacking in wall decoration, needs pictures on walls.

Me and my partner went here for a breakfast. The breakfast was very tasty which was freshly cooked and served in a reasonable time.

I had breakfast here with a friend and 3 kids. There is loads of space if the kids need to wonder, and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast was delicious!

It is a lovely place with friendly and helpful staff. We were there for a birthday celebration, and we were all having afternoon tea. Two days before I informed them that one of us had a nut allergy. On the day they brought all the same thing out on shared stands including bakewell slices. She wasn't given an alternative. I was also very disappointed that we paid £10.95 per head and were served cakes that were shop bought not made on site.

I booked an afternoon tea party for a friend's birthday. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The thing that disappointed me was after paying £10:95 per person all of the cakes were out of packets. Not only that, 2 days before we informed them that one of our party had a nut allergy. They served her exactly the same food including bakewell slices. Not really acceptable in this day and age.We had a lovely afternoon, just a shame they didn't take a nut allergy seriously.

Needs more atmosphere but gin was gintastic!

Friendly service by the young girls, nice coffee and well cooked breakfast.Sadly the restaurant is let down by the need for more people on during the breakfast rush.I don't mind waiting some time for food but 10 mins before my drinks order is too long first thing in the morning.The price of the breakfast is too cheap for a freshly cooked meal and coffee, put the food prices up by 50p and that would cover the cost of another person helping out in the morning ?Moaning aside lovely decor, friendly service and good food, just help out the one person by themselves in the morning!

Central location in the town of Oswestry. Good choice of drinks, including cocktails. Toilets are located up stairs, there is a very well kept and clean disabled toilet downstairs. It's a long room with plenty of seated areas. Great for live music, they have a great selection of varied artists playing here, the atmosphere is fun.

Popped in for the first time for pre dinner drinks ( party of 4 adults) on a Sunday evening looks very modern and inviting from outside.Place deserted as only one staff member on and waited ages and in the end one of our party had to shout "shop" to get someone attention - two of us had dry martinis and they tasted completly differnet - mine tasted like the martini had been waved over the top and not a proper measure.Place was very clean but lacked atmoshere and felt a bit soleless to be honest - had the one drink and left.Place more sutied to lunchtime i think.

We walked in there was one other table, we went to the bar asked for a table of 2, they gave us menus told us to take a seat and they would take our order 20-30 minutes later nothing, nobody came and took our order and even worse they didn't table check the table behind us which would have prompted them to take our order..I can't say anything about the food or drinks as we weren't able to get anything to eat or drink

My husband and I called for a drink early one Saturday evening. There was a group of really noisy girls in the corner that had obviously had loads to drink. We ordered a glass of wine each and it tasted like it had been open for months. I took it back and was given another which was better. It could be a really nice place but I think it's spoilt by the rowdy drinking gangs.

Cocktails very good and dog friendly

Great food and wonderful choice of drinks (including various cocktails).You will have to stretch your legs a wee bit. There is no parking in the immediate vicinity, but there parking lots within a few hundred yards. The better one is probably on the old market square; this is behind the building in which The Chemist is located, opposite M&S food store. Since opening it has become very popular, so do not condemn the place if you have to wait - THIS IS NOT a fast food place.

called here on the recommendation of some friends we went in with the intention of having breakfast but it was so busy we just had coffee we will call again but will make it earlier next time to avoid the crowds

What an amazing place, the cooked breakfast is by far the best in oswestry and the staff are just as good . Friendly and always nothing a problem. Well worth the £4.95 for full english and a tea or coffee. Enjoy .

Best place to drink in oswestry

I was really looking forward to celebrating my daughters birthday with afternoon tea, but was really disappointed.

Second time visiting The Cemist. Both occasions have been a Saturday night. Not a fan, its a pub/cocktail bar. It feels. Pretentious and it is overpriced. On both times I have visited it feels as though the place has no atmosphere. Some of the bar staff seem inexperienced leading to me having to order the same drink 3 times before it was served correctly. After my last visit I won't be visiting again.

Took my mum for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday. Had a choice of drink either a hot drink, prosecco or cocktails. With a selection of sandwiches cakes plus two scones it was value for money. With friendly staff and lovely atmosphere we will definitely be going again.

Can't recommend highly enough. Excellent food and friendly helpful staff, will definitely be going there again.

Thought we would give this a try and were impressed. The staff were smart and efficient and did all they could to find us a table at a busy time. So pleased to see that they do an all day breakfast which was of excellent quality and very reasonably priced. We had to wait quite a long time for the food to come but it was a pleasant atmosphere to sit and chat and have a nice coffee too. The music was rather too loud and we asked for it to be turned down a bit and they obliged straight away. Food was good too and the price excellent. There is a range of seating and the clientele ranged greatly in age. I noticed a number of young mums and we had a baby with us too and there is no baby change table in the toilet - they must sort this. Otherwise a great place that Oswestry is lucky to have. I hope they keep the standard high.

The cocktails are unfortunately pre made, but are charged at top rate, in prime location but it's a real shame it's just not worked, no effort made at decor, not welcoming, great opportunity blown unfortunately

I am really hoping this one sticks around because it is nice, classy, the staff are lovely, the food is gorgeous and the layout is really well done! There are nooks so you don't feel crowded but proper tables so you're not perched around a little round thing... there's wifi too so no excuse not to come and spend the afternoon chilling out here!

Time and effort require to train the bar staff in customer service and cocktail making ...my friend had 2 cocktails which were the same ...however when received were totally different even in colour... they seemed out of their depth. Shame as this place had potential...beautiful interior but seems unfinished ... pictures and accessories might make it feel more welcoming....

Called in with friends for breakfast and quickly found a table for 4. Waitress immediately came over to welcome us and reset the table. Had seen reviews about the breakfast so we were keen to try. Really glad we did as the breakfasts were superb. The food was well cooked and hot and nicely presented. We will definitely be back as we have tried all venues in town for breakfast over the years and this beats them all hands down .

This was our first visit to the Cemist, and it's not really our kind of pub. It's a bit too modern for our taste, and lacked atmosphere. Someone was complaining about no toilet seat or paper in the gents, but I think the staff sorted that out. Didn't eat, so can't comment on the food. Prices were reasonable and there was a "double up for £1" offer on spirits.

Beautiful new bar that’s dog friendly downstairs. We have been 8 times now, eating on 4 occasions finding the food first class. Coffee is as good as it gets & the milkshakes are special. Thank you for being well behaved dog friendly.

I couldn't believe the breakfast they served for £4.95 which included a cup of coffee.Eggs done to perfection, 3 slices of bacon, sausage,baked beans, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown & a slice of toast.Going back for sure.Service quick & two waitresses approached us to find out if the meal was okay.

So there’s a new cocktail bar in O-Town! With already a couple of other very good cocktail bars in town there’s a high standard to be at straight away. With a lot of social media highlighting their cocktails and food as well as talk around their name, expectations were high. On first impressions, the decor looks good, my kind of style. Although the atmosphere seemed a little drag and the cocktails were a definite let down, the same cocktails tasting completely differently to others I have had elsewhere. Note, the recipes behind the bar, a little practice needed maybe, but potential for this place as it looks nice!

Went on a Friday evening with a friend for a much anticipated visit. The place was livelier when it actually was a chemists. Over staffed by bored looking crew, every drink seemed to be made as a sort of relay - one making the drink, another taking the money and a third delivering to the table. Atmosphere was negligible, decoration was depressing and the reality fell way short of the expectation whipped up in previous weeks. Style over substance so far.

First impressions were not great. Lacks atmosphere and comfort. Will certainly avoid on a Fri/sat eve. Not a classy place I was hoping it would be

First impressions are very important for new businesses and after having the smallest cup of tea while waiting for what seemed an eternity for our food order my first impression of this place isn’t a good one.

Visited the chemist for the first time. Told waiting time for food was 45 mins. The bar wasn't overly busy so couldn't understand the long wait. Still waiting after an hour so requested a refund.
