Well situated. Nice staff, especially for breakfast! The room was too hot, and no tumblers were provided for water. We could hear stairway footsteps throughout the night. The bathroom was very nice.

Very handy location for the bus and railway station. Close to centre of town. Riverfront view. ( Hopefully high enough above the regular river Severn floods.) Typical chain. We did not eat or use the bar. Massive construction site next door but we had no issues. Bit of a slow check-in process as auto system was down. Room fine. Wifi, tea/coffee. Good bed. Shower in the bath so getting in and out starting to worry me as I approach my 8th decade.

Very annoying that you cannot open the windows at all, not even a little bit. They say there is fresh air coming in, but you can smell the stagnant air in the corridors and rooms and it made me have a huge headache (as soon as I was going outside the hotel it was gone so I really think it’s the lack of fresh air).

Because of massive blue hordings surrounding the building the entrance was extremely hard to find. We had to drive round block twice before we spotted it just by chance. However this hotel is perfectly positioned for city center and old town which is gorgeous

Worse than my expectations. Very tired/worn finishes, furniture, and fixtures. Impact noises (like foot falls) transmit readily from the floor above. No mini-fridge, nor ice. Our room was not cleaned and no new towels provided, but we may have missed the fine print that that service needs to be requested. Room at the back looked across the alley at a parking garage. The positives are the location, friendly staff, and rooms at the back are quiet as long as your neighbors upstairs are quiet too.

Visited from 18th =21st july 2024 Staff were excellent ,friendly&helpfull .Rooms were lovely and clean .Nice having a comfy double bed and because it was so hot it was nice being able to use the other type of single bed/sofa that was in there.Only niggle is that they didn't sell food all day In Wales where we live ,we can go in to any premier and get a meal .A member of staff explain why .Had a breakfast the first morning .Lots to choose from but the cooked breakfast was cold and we were down between7=7:30am .It put us off having it again ! Car parking was difficult at times as there was quite often no spaces left if we had been out for the day, But I would definetly stop here again for the location .

We have just had an enjoyable 2 nights at the Premier Inn Shrewsbury . The Carpark was tight but very reasonable at 10 pounds a night. Checkin was easy, nice double room on the second floor. We did not eat there, but had a couple of drinks at the bar, which were good quality. Ideally located for all Shrewsbury has to offer, minutes from everywhere and on the riverfront. Highly recommend.

A three night stay. The staff are lovely and wanting to help. Very friendly. The hotel on the whole is simply let down by the fact it is tired (ironic). Marks and dirt ground in on walls, fixtures are worn. Air con not cold but liveable. Light fixture cracked. Just general lack of maintenance over all. Very clean in all the areas that matter though. My view out the window was of the car park who can see straight in so I left the curtain closed. Good value, great location, good parking on site and cheaper nearby. Right in the middle of everything. TV has little signal and the free WiFi is abysmal, ultimate is fine but took about an hour to register and pay for. TLDR: good value, friendly staff, rooms need better maintenance, good location, generally clean in the important bits, good parking.

Staying at Premier Inn so came here for food as have the meal deal. Have to say staff are lovely and nice to have table service. Thought I'd try fish and chips without pea's, then the Cadbury nibbles ice-cream as these I have eaten at other premier inns, to see the difference. Fish and chips came with peas which she swiftly took back to kitchen rectified straight away. The chips are nice and crispy just how I like them, but I was waiting quite a while for food so when the fish came it was very hard, and burnt, you could literally pick it up and was stiff as an old sock that's just come off the radiator 🤣, reminds me of frozen cheapy battered fish from supermarkets, if you were paying £12.99 you would want fish a bit more nicer/softer, meal deal may change things? Tartre sauce was nice, watery not to bitty but that's fine with me, not keen on having ketchup In bottles on table, it was nearly empty and you don't know how long it's been there. Dessert nice about same size as other places I got the Cadbury nibbles sundae, it had 3 and a half nibbles definitely had a few more in other places, plenty of chocolate sauce tho so not bad compromise, will update on breakfast tomorrow 😄 Restaurant staff are really nice, friendly and very helpful, always had a smile.

Right where do I start??? We stayed at the premier inn for 2 nights with our 2 young girls,I can honestly say the food has been bad both nights. We took advantage off the meal deal as it is normally good value for money. Day 1: Both girls had cheese nachos to start and both came with no dip (menu said with dip) we was told they had run out but no alternative offered. My wife had the salmon and potatoes for the main and her potatoes looked like they were the same as someone else had left and just reheated. I had the rid-eye,I asked for it medium rare but was told that the steaks here are best cooked medium to well ??? Is that not my choice??? The start was horrible!!! And to top it all off I asked for a pint of cider only to be told “we only do bottled cider” strange. Day 2: Again the kids wanted nachos, again still no dip. (I’m sure there is a shop somewhere in this town that’s sells a dip) Again I had steak, this time I asked for medium as this is how they said it’s best here. I also asked for sweet potato fries as did one of my kids. The steak came more well done than medium, also both my daughters and my meal came with normal fries. Obviously I told the waiter and he brought out 2 bowls of sweet potato fries, to my horror my fries were really under cooked. No steak knives came out with the kids steaks,we did tell someone but they never came. No one came and asked if the meal was ok,the only time we was asked was when they took the plates away. When we asked for the bill they charged for the under cooked fries and even over charged us £10 !!!!!!!! Absolute joke,I will never eat here again. I feel so sorry for our waiter (Richard) he was really nice,if he has to deal with that everyday it will drive him mad.

Regresó a nosotros. No había reserva.

We visited this premier Inn as a group to celebrate our Friends 40th Birthday. We had planned on eating in their restaurant and pre-booked a table before we arrived. When we arrived after a very long day at work and a long travel, we went to the restaurant to have our meal as we were all very hungry, we arrived at the restaurant at 9pm. We were approached by a rude member of staff who advised we could not eat as the restaurant was closing at 10 and there were too many of us (8 in total) We asked why this was as we pre booked for 9.30 and also there was another hour until the kitchen closed, we even offered to order a simple meal for ease. We were then advised to wait for a manger for over half hour!!! To then be told, sorry nothing they can do as it was too late!!! Whilst we were there we also observed another family being turned away at 9pm by a rude member of staff, saying they could not serve food as kitchen closed at 10pm!! Overall, the way we were treating was very poor and staff were very rude... At one point we saw one of the staff sat down on her mobile ignoring guest completely!! The mixed grill was nice, all of the meat appeared to be of good quality as was the gammon. Breakfast was really nice and there was a great choice. Even better that you could help yourself! The only criticism would be that when we went up they had run out of orange juice and there were no glasses or coffee cups so we had to wait a bit until things were topped up. Shrewsbury now has a plethora of good and really good restaurants so Thyme's is going to struggle to make it's mark I think. However, if you want a quick and convenient meal, at a reasonable price, then you won't be disappointed. We had pre-booked an early pre-theatre meal so weren't expecting to linger for too long. In fact we needed to be served quickly! We had a very warm welcome from a smiling member of staff and our pick of tables so chose one overlooking the river. Our drinks came almost immediately and order taken for dinner. Everything came within a reasonable time, was what we ordered and presented nicely. I wouldn't say it was innovative or extra-special in any way, but no doubt they have to follow corporate menu's. It was all as described and quite tasty! The overall ambience is quite nice with windows all along the front so you can watch the world go by. It's pretty busy with hotel guests so no awkward hushed conversations. The staff are very pleasant and eager to please and at the price we paid we were well satisfied. We wouldn't go for a special meal, but it serves its purpose.

Last night was going to be our Valentines special meal because of the weather and power cuts of the previous week. Sat down, what seemed to be a very efficient lady showed us to our table. From then on, everything went down hill. Came with wine list, wine we wanted was not available, had alternative. Then the lady said "I will get you a wine cooler", this never came. Then we ordered our food, others ordered after us, theirs came first, we waited 40mins for a pizza and a salad to arrive. A young lad came and asked us about a sweet, we agreed on a choc dessert to share. 25 mins later this never arrived, but the couple opposite who also ordered a dessert, were given theirs, then the lad came with a second for them which they a DID not order. He would have been better to take notes of orders. The lady came and asked if everything was ok, told her certainly not. "I will check on your sweet" don't bother I said, too late now. To be fair, they withdrew our bill. The evening was spoilt by staff who were trying to do too much without finishing one job properly and by a young lad who never took notes on orders.

After an awful day travelling my wife and I just wanted somewhere to sit down and enjoy each other's company outside of the car, we greeted and made very welcome by a young gentleman named Ashley, whom was great all the way through the night, was very attentive and polite 5/5 for him. After our meals we decided to go to the bar for a drink before we would retire to our rooms, were a warm barman named Mark served us and catered for out need and was extremely polite and very very assertive, held a good conversation and was very knowledgable of the surroundings of the town. Was impressed that we have booked again to go here

We have visited this restaurant twice since it opened earlier this year. We spent over 3 hours in the restaurant with our excellent three course meal, wine and coffee. The service is of a high standard. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are very attentive. If you wan't a good value for money meal, this is the place to visit.

We attempted to have a meal this evening here, hadn't booked but have been several times over the Summer without booking. However, the two young staff told us they would have to check with the kitchen if we could have a table for.....2!!!!! Quite unbelievable as the restaurant was completely empty on one side, bar area wasn't particularly busy for an early evening in Shrewsbury, which is quite a busy Town socially. Before checking with the kitchen, we were then told that it would probably be at least an hours wait as they had bookings within the next 45 minutes. We were so taken aback of being refused a table for 2 that we told them not to bother. When competition from other restaurants in the area is extremely high, how can they afford to turn customers away from an already quiet restaurant, we weren't even offer a table in the bar area. On our visits to this restaurant, it has never been busy with service very slow and the outside tables are never cleaned. This is a fairly new restaurant in the Town Centre of Shrewsbury ,where competition and standards are particularly high. This is not worth a visit, as there are so many good restaurants nearby and within walking distance even if you are staying at the Premier Inn....GO ELSEWHERE TO EAT!!!!!

The new hotel and its restaurant occupy a prime location in the town centre and I was very pleasantly surprised by the high standard of customer service and attention to detail provided by the newly trained and some experienced staff. I have visited Thyme now on a number of occasions for drinks in the bar and also early evening meals and each time the staff have been excellent, providing excellent customer service. The menu is varied and provides good value for money without being too cheap or extortionately priced too. I am looking forward to the summer months when hopefully it will be possible to enjoy a drink or bite to eat on the front terrace. My only criticisms would be, a lack of a divide between the restaurant and bar area as it can become noisy in the bar when busy, no lunches served and also lack of snacks available. But it is early days and there may be an opportunity in the future depending upon demand for providing both lunches and snacks. Well done Premier Inn and your excellent bar and restaurant staff

Today at lunchtime we thought we'd check out the Thyme restaurant at the newly opened Premier Inn. Several people appeared to be occupying tables and we presented ourselves at the "Please wait to be seated" desk. Stood there like lemons, completely ignored by chappie busting himself doing nothing at the bar. Eventually a girl appears and shouts across the room "Yes?"."Can we have a table for two, please?""We don't serve lunch. Just breakfast and evening meal."OK, so it was our mistake. Not that I could find anywhere online saying they don't do lunch. But it does make me wonder: having read that 700 people applied for jobs at this new hotel, if the best they can find is people with no customer service skills whatsoever, then what on earth were the other 650 applicants like?

Shopping experience ok. Not enough organic products!! Tesco's seem to have stopped doing a lot of organic. Very disappointing.

Our group of vintage vehicle enthusiasts (42 in all) had a great Thursday evening meal. We were all well looked after and the service was excellent considering it was such a busy night. Great food and attentive and very helpful staff who were well organised by Sarah, So helpful with some of our group who had special requirements, nothing was too much trouble, lovely atmosphere. Our second year here, look forward to next year

Lydia's reply to your rude reply, following her review. 09.50am 05.10.24 Hi Brent, Thank you for your reply. We never received any offer of refund in any form. I'm not a fantasist and placed the review 10 months after the event for two reasons: 1) I was so emotionally angry and upset that you were so rude causing my families Christmas Day disaster and subsequent cancellation of our home buffet on Boxing Day. 2) If I reviewed in January, customers would forget prior to booking Christmas 2024. I had to wait until booking closer to Christmas 2024 . The reason their is no Christmas Day at The Red Barn is because it was such a shambles 2023. Even in your reply today, you sware, didn't apologise and we still didn't receive any refund, which I'm happy to receive as a Gesture of Goodwill. Re my furure bookings, last month I booked a Christmas Day venue. We have attended Christmas Day there twice before. They have Christmas Day spot on. They are welcoming, polite, attentive and put the customer first. They would never dream of swaring at a customer, let alone wish they would break down. Your reviews will catch up with you and your trade. Your business suffers because of YOU. No Christmas Day this year - SPEAKS VOLUMES. My family and I would like to wish you a fabulous Christmas and hope you have resolved your stress and family issues you used as an excuse last boxing day last year. NO CHRISTMAS DAY VENUE - I'm a fantasist!!! Question Mr Catterson - Why did Nichola resign from your Security Company in June? I wonder!
