The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in South East

I went to the upstairs cafe at M&S. Hedge End yesterday afternoon with my adult son. The cafe was not busy but we still waited for someone to bother to serve us. The cafe was not clean, the many empty tables were littered with dirty plates & crockery & we struggled to find somewhere clean to sit. The floor under the tables was filthy, covered with discarded food. There was no brown sugar or sweeteners &Apparantly had been none for about 2 weeks according to one member of staff. My sons cappuccino was only 1/2 full & when I asked for the cup to be filled he ended up with a cup of hot milk! Not a pleasant experience. I will not be visiting the M&S cafe at Hedge End again.

Have not been here for a while. Seems quiet. Now I know why. I ordered a fruit scone, when it arrived it is so hot there is steam coming off it. I mentioned it to the waitress who said we serve them warm! I said there is warm hot !! it just makes all the fat melt and the scone turn hard. She then brought name a cold one, it is so stale you could brake a tooth, what is worse they don’t care. Such a shame.

Blimey, where do I even start? We recently went here for breakfast, as they’d finally brought back their full English breakfasts. We used to love coming here for breakfast, but it’s truly gone down hill in recent years. Which is such a massive shame. The server was rude and abrupt, and honestly looked like she’d rather be anywhere else than there (which, to be honest… I’d of been the same) The app was broken, so couldn’t order online - which wasn’t great as they’re severely understaffed. After ordering we waited nearly 25 for our coffee, which was basically just warm milk. Food, well we wondered where our food was for a while, despite the constant dinging of the service bell from the kitchen for over 7 minutes, which everyone could hear apart from the servers. We could clearly see our food getting colder by the minute. Our food arrived stone cold, slimed potatoes , rubbery eggs. In the end we sent back our food and quickly got out of there. Can’t forget the great ambient music played by a workers phone, which probably wasn’t very family friendly or radio edits. Honestly, they had no organisation, sugar from bowls with table spoons that was passed around from table to table, no clear management making sure things were done. I did wonder what was so fascinating in the customer toilets, cause most employees went in there 3/4 times during the 45 minutes we were there. Definitely will not be returning. Thank goodness.

Got given a ‘voucher’ for a free shot with any drink which is the only reason we even went. Bouncers were immediately aggressive and unfriendly - my boyfriend accidentally stepped on the foot of one due to the cramped environment and apologised immediately, and it was very clearly an accident. One bouncer responded as if we had made some kind of physical aggressive threat and reminded us it was £5 to enter (there was about 7 people in there on a Friday night) Very strange superior attitude given that the place is virtually empty. New bouncers needed ASAP!

Salimos a desayunar esta mañana después de un bonito paseo por el campo con nuestro perro. La bienvenida amable y el personal agradable. Gran café. Welsh Rarebit era una buena porción grande y absolutamente delicioso. Muy recomendable.

Managed to bag an outside table in the sun for a spot of lunch whilst visiting the garden centre. Ordered the fish and chips plus a BLT sandwich with cold drinks. Friendly service, good tasting food and a nice sized piece of cod. Nice place plus a pond to walk over to after lunch.

Awful again ordered jacket potatoes for our lunch waited a long time as fairly busy, food finally came but potatoes were COLD took back and they said they will sort it,waited a very long tile STILL cold as we were short on time and diabetic needed to eat we ate it as paid a Lot of money as this cafe only seems good for drinks tht is all we can have from now on. Shocking a jacket spud should be fool proof. Needs taffy who know how to cook and Check temperature of crap they are sending out. Couple on next table said their spuds were cold but she told him to shut up an eat.

Entré por mi Vindaloo regular en Curry Thursday y mientras esperaba mi pedido escuché algunos gritos muy fuertes y juramentos que supuse que era otro cliente, luego me di cuenta de que venía de la cocina que no está separada de la barra por una pared, el chef estaba constantemente jurando en la parte superior de su voz que se intensificó a tirar cosas alrededor de la cocina y romperlas, esto continuó durante 5 minutos antes de bajar y pedir un reembolso, ya que no quería vajilla rota en mi comida, opté por comer en otro lugar.

Pleasant enough as far as the 'garden' aspect is concerned although not sure if it was an intentional play on words when observing a sign stating: "Bare with us as our Christmas tree delivery has been delayed", so much for modern day education, faulty Spellcheck or as mostly the case these days staff for whom English is not their first language. As for the café the indifference to customers is as bad as ever, bordering on arrogance because nothing has ever been done about it by those responsible. The service is slow with staff seeming to enjoy operating at a gentle pace that suits themselves, pausing to have little chats with each other & often content to engage in a long conversation with a customer, all the time working hard to avoid eye contact with the usual long queue of customers. It's the indifference that is so overwhelming. The staff need replacing as I suspect they have done the job for too long & imagine they have earnt the right to do as they please. The breakfasts are fabulous but my lasting impression is that I have to pay a price, not for the food but to have to endure the dreadful service.

Had the best afternoon tea with outstanding personal service. Staff were wonderful and food was great too and a lovely choice of teas.

Visited with my grandchildren staff unwelcoming and very rude First time trying this cafe and definitely won’t return the staff need some customer care training

Flat whites took a while and they were lukewarm, if the girls spent less time chatting then the microwaved food we were having for our order would have been hot. very underwhelming and pricey

Debbie front of house was fantastic what a super star common sense ,helpful, polite and capable ,a rare breed indeed, give her a raise !
