The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Only allowed 2 vegetables with your dinner, you have to choose between red cabbage, cauliflower, carrots or pancetta. I like a selection of veg as you get on most roasts. The Lamb was excellent as was the braised red cabbage. The cauliflower had barely seen hot water and was still very crunchy and the roast potatoes had been kept warm a little to long to make the skins a bit chewy. The venue is very cold feeling with none of the ambience of a restaurant. It’s clearly a young persons bar. There’s better out there at better prices.

Nah.....Just not the same anymore, gone from one of the best pubs you could ever visit. Now no atmosphere, poor drink selection staff not caring if you are there or not, this is our 4th and very last visit since it reopened from Dr Bs to the Star and Garter.

It's an average Starbucks with average service. You have probably been to one before and know what you are getting. Glad to see they have ethical coffee.

Intentamos pedir un fish and chips en este sitio y, después de 40 minutos, nos fuimos cansados de esperar. Mal organizado, clientes muy maleducados que se colaban todo el rato y olor a fritanga.

Building is breathtaking I will give it that but the food was not good at all. The burger’s are super cheap and the taste was something I cannot put in to words. food I would not give to anyone dog because it’s so bad. After I became unwell and that something I really do not want to go into on review. Good luck to anyone that eats here.

poor service, majority of the menu was out of stock! food was tasteless and just about cooked right. do not recommend whatsoever!!

Stayed in the dog friendly chalet. Clean, fresh and cosy. Landlord was extremely friendly and helpful, total opposite to his previous reputation. We had a brilliant weekend.

Absolutely incredible night with the Secret Supper Society for my birthday. Jules has been wonderful to deal with right from my first enquiry. The food was absolutely incredible. Clean plates all round. Amazing flavours with good size portions. Jules and her team were the perfect balance of attentive whilst leaving us alone to enjoy the meal in the beautiful dining room. We'll definitely be back!

We have visited on a few occasions and its always busy. The food was lovely and would recommend a visit. The views are also amazing when there's a sunset.

This is anything but relaxing. Filthy trays and unwiped tables abound. Having to poke in between a line of customers for necessity items is annoying to both parties. Jiggling teabags in paper cups is an utter pain. All necessary things for a simple snack are spread about. The staff are miserable and unhelpful and the stock is sold out. This RHS garden is coining in millions to the point you can't get parked. Yet this cafe is an utter disgrace. As an RHS member it's very unimpressive.

Espantoso servicio y espantoso servicio al cliente. Todo lo que están haciendo es recalentar la comida que parece ser demasiado para ellos. No vayas si esperas que te atiendan oportunamente con una sonrisa.

Chef needs to chabge the oil more often. Chips was awfully smelling old oil. Also chips weren't tasty. Not a nice place to eat take away from

Friendly staff, good fish, but the chips were soggy / oily and tasteless (cooked to order) Chip portion size not commensurate with price either. I understand fish being pricey, but potatoes? Not the greatest overall, room for improvement.

No se moleste con el menú de Navidad - pavo reconstituido anunciado como recién tallado, NO. Patatas (enormes) zanahorias chirivías frías y fuertes. Salchicha rosada con tocino veteado graso colgando, debajo de la pila de repollo negro. Las coles de Bruselas son lo único comestible en el plato. Café Luke caliente. No como se anuncia en el menú. Sobreprecio.

Advertising themselves as a sports bar/European cup showing pub with flags everywhere. Turned up with several friends to watch a game along with multiple people in the bar, no commentary on the game, only music!!! Several attempts to get the music turned down met by “we have to ask the landlord’s permission”! Crap atmosphere & even worse management. Won’t be going there again.
