Wolverton House in Milton Keynes

We went with family for Sunday lunch - seated quickly and we all had the carvery. The meat selection was brilliant - 4 to choose from and lovely veg & the best roasties I’ve tasted in a long time. It was busy but the staff were excellent - special mention to Georgia who kept our table cleared for us, always smiling and another mention for the 2 bar staff that looked after us too. Thank you 😊

Service was absolutely terrible. The waitress flung our food at us not even engaging with us and then came back and flung a pizza at my 3 year old. Never going back again disgusting

Came for a Sunday Morning cooked breakfast. Delicious meal as usual. We've never had a bad meal here. Beautiful historical venue. The staff work really hard.

Stopped by for breakfast with a friend around 10am on a weekday morning. Wasn't very busy. Paid and was given plates and got a coffee. Went to find a table and noticed plenty of tables hadn't been cleared once customers left (and stayed this way throughout). Went to buffet but greeted with no eggs, 2 sausages and no bacon. Lady came out from kitchen and started shouting at colleague behind the bar she was on her own and couldn't keep up. Ahe said it would take 10 minutes to restock the buffet. 10 minutes turned into 20 and eventually food came out but then there was a rush and eggs and sausages were gone again. The restaurant was also uncomfortably warm. I noticed the thermostat by us was set to 23 degrees. In fairness quality of food was actually better than I expected and I'm sure it can't be this bad every day.

Beautiful pub . The entrance to the pub is beautiful and also the pub has very warm filled a bit came in on a lunch break and from start to finish food and cusomer service was incredible.

Food is very good and we will be back to try more positions from the menu. But their service is terrible! We went there on bank holiday, it was also a Monday when they suppose to have 50% off promo for burgers. Two ladies at the till told us they have this promotion, when we made an order it turns out it is not valid on bank holiday which was not stated on the menu and staff seems to not know about this etiher...when we made an order we were asked which table we have, we didn't know (turns out we sat at new table with no number yet lol) but the lady from the staff said she saw when we sit and it's table number 6. We have made quite big order (4 adults and two kids) and waited ages for it....it turns out that the waitress brought our food to completely different table which was empty! our food sat there for 10 minutes before they have noticed mistake. Then turns out that one of the starter is missing and we waited another 15 minutes for nachos which come cold..it seems like no one know what is going on there to be honest and most of the staff seems to be completely lost

I hadn’t been to Wolverton House for many years, however I was pleasantly surpised by the warm welcome, the food quality and the value for money. Georgia looked after us well and I look forward ro returning and trying the pizza.

Came on Sunday for a family get together! The lady who greeted us at the door was friendly ( and funny) such a nice change to have a passionate and non robotic welcome. She was informative and explained to us the process options and where we could find everything. Drinks were brought to our table swiftly. Food was lovely. The park in the garden was a touch too We will definitely be back!

Me and my daughter came for her birthday a week ago and she had the loveliest time, they were very friendly and held the cake for us, sang happy birthday and gave us a free kids brownie, the rest of the food was amazing too, everyone had a great time.

After going to another carvery it highlighted how disgusting this carvery was. The carvery was the worst I've ever had. The veg was frozen and slushy, the yorkshire was frozen (not home cooked) The chocolate cake had been over cooked in the microwave the sauce was like cement. Definitely will not be returning

Went with friends for dinner and was pleased to find the vegatbles were just coming out of the kitchen. The Roast Beef was superb and James our host was delighful and made the effort to make us feel welcome . Timing is the key to great food here, if the selection on the carvery looks run down wait, ask the server when the next selection is coming out of the kitchen.

Brilliant service by James , carvery was great, everything tasted delicious and atmosphere was delightful. Couldn’t have asked for a better lunch.

Recently visited on a sunny afternoon, around 10/12 of us, kids and adults. Kids had a lovely time playing on the park and us adults had a nice chance to catch up. Staff were lovely, the place was clean and the food we had was spot on. Looking forward to more visits over the warmer months

Went last Tuesday 23/4/24. Served at the bar fairly quickly. However the man serving the carveries had a bad attitude. He gave me the smallest slice of chicken. I had to ask for some more which he gave me. Will not be going back!

We have never tried the Stonehouse franchise before and we will never do so again. Just like a poor version of Toby Inns. Dirty sticky floor, dirty sticky table, wee allover the toilet floor, poor customer service except by Charlie and a girl in green who were great. The older woman behind the bar was clearly having a bad day and was very abrupt in her dealings with staff and customers alike. We both opted for carvery. As for the food, the meat was superb and really cooked well but that's as far as it goes. Portions were small with half a slice each of 2 meats. All the veg was barely warm, the toasties so hard I could have built a wall to withstand a typhoon, carrots cold and soggy, stuffing was like a clump of cold porridge. We then had apple pie and I opted for ice cream and not custard. The apple was good but the pastry rubbery from being zapped in a microwave and my ice cream had almost completely melted. The place was generally tired, tatty, dirty and there was little obvious management. I watched the very rude chef put up 8 carvery takeaways. He slopped the veg in to a container and pushed it all down, with his hand, so he could get the lid on and made 4 carvery customers wait until he was done. I was in hospitality for several years, I know there is a shortage of staff but there is no reason for this shocking presentation and lack of hygiene. They totally spoilt my wife's birthday and yet they knew the reason for our visit.

We decided to pop into Wolverton House after not going for over a year as last time we were disappointed that issues with providing food and the cleanliness wasn’t so great to see if had improved. I am pleased to say that it definitely has, the tables were clean and not sticky, the food was much better, hot and fresh (had a pizza and gammon and mustard sandwich). What a massive turnaround driven no doubt by Lina and Charlie. Great to see, keep up the good work. Such a lovely historic building it deserves to have people visit and treat it well. We will be letting our friends know to go back. Highly recommended.

This is a great place to go the service and food was 10/10... We went from a booking of 6 to 19. Even tho the place was packed they were still able to accommodate us.... I can't thank them enought. They really did go above and beyond... Thank you to Sherrie for making it happen your a star....

If I could give it nil stars, I would. Where to start? The presentation of the buildings with the peeling paint and lack of cleaning? The dismissive nature of the youngster behind the bar, who was more interested in his 'phone than he was customers? Or should I mention the food which was edible but hardly praiseworthy? No, I think the highlight of the trip will be the trip to the toilets... Where do you think they were located? About 3 miles away as the toilets in the premises were out of order. Yes, you read that correctly... ALL toilets were out of order. Surely that's illegal to carry on serving food and drink. I think my colleague, who is Anglo-Asian might also have a few questions about their policy for discrimination too; I have to admit that he was treated with even more contempt than everyone else by the lad behind the bar. EDIT: Having reviewed the other comments here it seems that he is not the only one who is 'foreign looking' and has felt discriminated against. I cannot overstate just how terrible this place was and the only reason I have not complained formally is I was worried they might send me some freebie vouchers to go back again and I can say with 100% certainty that I will never go back there again ever. If the 'management' want to turn this place around then they need to do one thing above all else: Sort the staff out, they are really not doing you any favours and most of the negative feedback seems to be about staff attitude.

Had the carvery wasn’t impressed, with the amount of meat served thought I had gone vegetarian, vegetables very bland and hard lacked seasoning, cauliflower cheese no seasoning so bland, home baked sticky toffee pudding was not home made it was a toffee muffin which was stale and custard and muffin was cold not good, give it all a wide birth not worth the money I won’t be returning.

Went for the £10.99 2 course menu Fish chips and mushy peas and sticky toffee pudding with custard. The fish was excellent and the whole dish was well presented. Sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Our server Sheri was a delight and made sure our meals were brought in a timely manner. All in all a great place to go for a reasonably priced meal and good food.

Breakfast at Wolverhampton house is our annual family gift. Today 10 family members gathered with my wife and I and it was a joyful and memorable time together. The food is delicious and the environment is warm, friendly and peaceful. Lina was cheerfully attentive throughout this lovely gift to our children and grandchildren.

We went and it was really busy with Christmas meals, they seemed understaffed for the amount of customers there. The battered fish was unavailable. The carvery was delicious, gluten free gravy was provided, which was great. The 'full works' carvery was ridiculously big, with pigs in blankets, extra Yorkshire pudding and a sausage. The mashed potato looked crusty as it was awaiting a fresh batch. The value for money, especially on the full works carvery was great. The burger was good too. We ordered a Christmas cocktail, which never arrived, and when I reminded a staff member she apologised, and gave us the next soft drink and coffee on the house. When we got the cocktail, it was actually the wrong one. As they were off the festive menu we weren't sure what it would look like, but rather than being sweet and fruity, it was bitter and gingery. It was a different drink from the festive menu. Unfortunately, whilst the food was tasty, and it was incredibly busy, it was a little disappointing overall.

Visited this restaurant as part of a large Christmas party for our sports team. Whilst the Carvery itself was pretty good, the woman who was serving our tables had a terrible attitude, was rude to numerous members of our party and incredibly unprofessional. She was overheard at the bar and in the kitchen, loudly making rude comments about our party to other members of staff. One of the younger members of our party was left in tears after overhearing what this particular member of staff was saying about us. Between the 25 of us at the party, we represent 4 different teams within the same community, with a combined reach of over 18,000 followers on social media platforms. There is nothing that could convince us to return and we will strongly recommend that no one does the same until that one particular staff member is removed from the business. Reading through some of the other reviews, it appears to be a common complaint. Hopefully the business owners will take notice and act upon it.

Had a lovely visit again, fab food and good prices. Caitlyn and Lina were kind and attentive, they were really sweet and patient with my Nan who has dementia, it's hard to find palces that are so accommodating. Thank you ladies.
