Typical pub which has only modernised a little so still has the true pub atmosphere. Gone is the smoky environment and considerably brighter than the old days but still recognisable as a pub with staff of the ‘old school’. Good range of food though and on this visit we had the most delicious Lasagne which was served with an excellent Garlic bread and nice salad. Add a bottle of wine, couple of deserts and the bill of £56 was not bad at all.

I am so surprised this place isn’t busier for food. I was there yesterday with friends and it was so good I came back today for Father’s Day lunch. Soooo good. Yesterday I had the Thai curry and today the homemade pie. Honestly, I’m going to be dreaming about this food.

We booked a table for 4, Tuesday lunchtime. There was a large blackboard with some lovely dishes on it. However, we were told NOTHING on the board was available. The menu provided on the table was quite limited. Three of us received our food & had to start or it would have become cold. The fourth finally received hers a good while later. I feel you should be informed when you book if specials are not available OR rub the board clear. It is misleading. We also got the impression that we were being hurried, staff clearing the table almost as soon as we had finished . The room felt cold. I am sorry to be negative. The actual food we did order was nice. A shame, just not a good experience. We won't be returning.

Visited on Olney's busiest day (Dickens of a Christmas) but still managed to get a seat albeit at a tiny table but we were hungry. Situated beside the roaring log fire, we were not long in heating up after our walk around town. Noticing the 'special menu', we decided just to eat here rather than going home and cooking and frankly, we made a great choice. Both settled on the Roast Turkey with trimmings and when it was brought to us, we couldn't find the Turkey. Moving the trimmings around revealed 3 succulent slices of but the sheer volume of greens/veg, potatoes and a huge Yorkshire pudding had conspired to hide it from prying eyes. Cooked to perfection and plenty of it, meant I had to help my wife decant some of her extronious portion onto my plate but I loved every bit of it. Adding a couple or two of drinks and we were in heaven for a few hours. chatting to some other visitors to town, saw them also deciding to take advantage of the kitchen offering. Unfortuately we left before I was press ganged into helping another two diners leave a clean plate. Great food, served quickly and ideal for that particular day.

Fantastic traditional English pub located on the High Street of the beautiful market town of Olney. Famous for its annual pancake race, Dickins of Christmas fair and food festival amongst other things. The two Brewers has two lovely bars. The public bar is popular with locals for games like darts and pool. The lounge bar is much bigger and is set out with tables for eating or just drinking around a real fire in the winter months. The food is always very good and reasonable priced, especially for a Sunday roast 😋

Decided to leave the cooking aside for a change and headed down to 'the Brewers' for a meal. The redesigned bar area is a massive improvement over that of a year ago. Nice comfortable lounge furniture for the drinkers sits well in the same area as the dining tables. I used to be amazed at the very large menu on offer here but I suspect, a combination of reduced number of diners and the cost of ingredients has contributed to a significant reduction in choice. To be fair, there is still a good selection to cater for most needs, tastes and preferences but not the choice of days before Covid & Cost of Living crisis. My wife had Prawn Cocktail, a well presented dish with myself opting for the autumn veg soup. Both items were tasty, more than adequate portions and excellent value for money. Our mains were a Chicken & Ham Pie which was excellent. A lovely pastry with the pie crammed with plenty of ham and an equal supply of chicken. Cooked to a tee! My wife had the Beef Lasagne which she throughly enjoyed however she did feel that there could have been a little more beef in the filling. Extremely tasty and well cooked. The quality of the food, excellent service and the fact we also had some drinks (1 pint and half pint cider,) meant we had great value for less than £40.

First time I visited for a meal since it had an internal facelift and was impressed. The new layout is neat and tidy, separating the food tables from comfortable soft seating for the drinkers. Not a distinct separation, a subtle one. The menu has shrunk a little but still has a good choice of pub type food along with an extensive gluten free/vegetarian/vegan range. Service was pretty slick and saw our scampi & cod being delivered pretty quickly. Cooked well and presented as pub food is, I can see us visiting again, maybe for their lunch offers.

My wife and I had lunch here and it was such a lovely experience. We've never visited this town before so were at a loss for where to have something to eat, but really fortunately for us there was a parking space right in front the pub and as we parked up we noticed the board outside offering two courses for £7.25, so we thought that we'd give it a chance and we're so glad that we did. The member of staff that saw to us throughout our visit was friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent and both of us agreed that we couldn't have chosen a better place for a bite to eat. A small party of us booked a table for lunch at The Two Brewers. Our experience was excellent from start to finish. The gentleman who served us, and who had booked the table for us the day prior, was extremely polite and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, made all the more homely by the presence of a log fire. We had a lovely table by the window and although the pub got busier in the duration of our time there, it never felt too crowded or overwhelming. (We have been to places before where we have felt a bit packed in, but this was not the case here.) The food was delicious and very fairly priced. We would definitely recommend, and intend to return in the future.

We were driving through Onley and needed a Sunday roast and spotted this pub. It's a typical locals drinking pub with a large traditional restaurant pub room. We ordered two pork roasts. When it arrived it was a great size portion but not enough gravy and as soon as I was about to ask for more the lady walk-in with a gravy boat and extra apple sauce. The carrots were cooked perfectly Al Dante and the pork meat, roasts and Yorkshire pudding was perfect too. It was exactly what we were hoping for. Nothing pretentious, just great food in a traditional English pub in a traditional English Market town. 10/10 👍🍺

Had our first meal for some time in here and it turned out to be the best yet. You get what you pay for and the fact that this is a pub, you ain't paying for fancy decor, highly trained staff or all the bells and whistles of other establishments. As a result, the food is excellent value for money and when you are meeting up a group of friends, you want quality, well cooked food, served reasonably quickly and drinks to go with it. This is the place in town when they all come together. On this visit, it was burger, roast beef, tarragon chicken pie and a range of desserts. Bottle of wine, 6 beers, glass of red wine, two coffees and a total bill of justunder £25 per head which included tip Very pleasant and competent staff made this an excellent visit and now that we are back out and about, will be a more regular visitor.

** Tried to double charge for food. ** Rude service from two out of three staff members. ** Too many food menus but hardly any vegetarian options. Even staff doesn't seem to know what is offered. We went there on Sat 26th Jun 2022 for lunch. There were several menus on display and when I asked the mature gentleman who served at the till, he pointed to a board with 3 course meals and said that we can't order just one course and must order at least 2 courses. So went on to order 3 meals and later on I noticed children's menu. Even though he saw that we were a family with a kid, he never mentioned children's menu until I asked. Then finally ordered 2 course 2 adult meals, 1 kid's meal and drinks. After a while, he came back and said it was the wrong menu that was only applicable on week days and handed us a different menu. Again we ordered 2 main meals and a kid's meal. He said he will refund the previous order minus drinks and recharge for new order. I then asked receipts for both orders and realised they have not refunded for kids meal in the initial order but charged for that again in the second order. When I questioned it, mature gentleman asked a lady to sort it out. When I pointed out, she said "it's not his fault, it's mine, I did second order" then re-issued receipt for second order without charges for kid's meal. During all these conversations they were never polite and infact was rude. Never apologised for trying to overcharge me. Even if it was a genuine mistake, they should have said sorry when I pointed out. They behaved like it was my mistake. The only person appeared polite was the younger gentleman (teenager I think) who served us food. ** So my advice to anyone who wants to go there is to ask for receipts and double check what you have been charged! Response to your reply: # Staff never apologised (used "sorry for the mistake" or something similar. I didn't say they were deliberately over charging because I cannot read minds to know that. But they didn't know what was on offer that day or took due diligence to refund the correct amount. If I didn't ask for initial receipt to review and paid for the second order without questioning, they would have double charged me for kid's meal. So absolutely stand by my above review. # My review wasn't about food quality or quantity. Food was OK, nothing spectacular but ok. Yes my husband ordered nachos because he was hungry. That doesn't mean service by your staff was brilliant! # Intension of my review was not to get anything back from you even though someone saying "sorry" would have been good. So I have no particular reason to contact you via email.

Group of us got together for a catch-up including a meal and drinks. This is a good little pub in the town of Olney and serves above average pub food with a range of ales, wines & spirits. It can't compete against the many eateries in town but is certainly ideal for food rather than a fine dining experience with prices which won't break the bank. I had scampi & chips which was excellent. Great portion of scampi with peas, chips & tartare sauce at just over £9. As far as speed of service was concerned, couldn't fault it just a pity the delivery lacked a little chat and banter which I always like to reflect in my rating. The pub is exellent for implementing conovarious procedures. We sat near a nice fire and ordered a sausage sandwich and a normal pie type dish. The doom bar I ordered became unable as two other guys who incendentially had ordered before us sent their beers back. Not a good sign to serve poor quality beer. We waited then as did these guys over 40 minutes for food to arrive. Two people had been served only in this time (one staff and mum I believe) Why? When I said it was getting very silly to the waiter all this time we had a diatribe about radiators and other unintelligable excuses. My sausage sandwich was very nice but my wive's pie was very average. An over done pastry and a lack of gravy meant the dish was a little dry. To be fair the waiter did bring a dish of gravy after my wive had the courage to ask. Final comment by my wife was it will be a long time before we come here again. However the drink was knocked off the bill. Good touch. (Guys liked the place before but cheesed off.)

Would have been better going to McDonalds...... we went to the cafe here at 12:30 on a Friday and it didn't look busy. Waitress who took out order advised there was a 30 minute wait on food which would have been fine however, after an hour we were still waiting. When the food finally appeared it was clear that some of it wasn't fresh, peas were hard, beans congealed and toasties were hard. Food didn't all come out at the same time and there was no apology from the staff. Shame because the actual garden centre is lovely but next time we will either go to Frosts or elsewhere.
