Lovely local pub, menu is simple but portions are good value for money.

Roast was awesome, great food and really good value. Katie, Jess and Dan were fab, would definitely recommend.

It's average like other outlets.

Quiet tonight, as only we were silly enough to go out in the awful weather. Still, the welcome we got from Dan and his chef certainly made up for our boldness! We were served a great comfort food dinner, and that, with a couple of very nice drinks, and an interesting conversation with Dan, rounded off a great experience. We'll be back!

Opens at 10am, but the breakfast is absolutely amazing!!!!! We had the mega breakfast , which included the tea!!! So tasty!!! Dan and Jess are so friendly and helpful! Lovely to chat to both! Compliments to Cameron(the chef) Definitely come again!!! (Don’t mind my stack of hash browns, my friend won’t eat them)

Good full English breakfast cooked excellently at a really competitive price. Lovely service and atmosphere.

Absolutely awful, walked in and nearly fell over extension cables leading to a pool table. Sat at bar with no staff. Only 2 out of 4 largers available , leaving the most expensive. ( that old trick ) Spoke to the supervisor who actually supervised one person, ( apparently she was not working) he was grubby looking and seemed to be expected to serve 2 bars and take food orders, deliver food to tables and run 2 bars at the same time. 3 customers inc myself with music so loud you could not here each other speak. If Carlsberg run pubs this would be the worded in the world ! I drank my glass of water and left I suppose it can’t get worse

Enjoyed lunch here today with some old friends, food was lovely, toasties with cheesy chips and basket meals. The service from a young lady serving food and drinks was excellent, fantastic value for money would definitely recommend.

The gents loo on this place was swimming in pee and very very smelly. The barmaid was also too busy chatting to serve me so I left and went to another pub close by.

I wanted to try this lovely gem of a pub for some lunch before I went to work. I arrived in the lounge bar to be ignore by the barmaid. The customer she was chatting to had to tell her I was waiting. I ordered a coke and a hunter's chicken pernine this came with crisps and salad. She went to do my coke filled the glass with ice I said that I didn't want as much ice. I wasn't asked if I wanted ice. I sat out side to have my lunch. The out side area was a mess. No chairs wiped spider webs everywhere. The bins full. More weeds then plants. When my lunch came, the salad was just lettuce out of a bag. No tomato cucumber. How can this be a salad. The chicken was nice. But you really shouldn't advertising salad if it's not.

Choice is spirits eg dark rum and Bacardi or single malt whiskey not available. Only sell whole bottles of rose wine Not sold by the glass. Bar staff kept running outside asking the manager/owner I think Service extremely slow. At one point they ran to the coop for a small bottle of Bacardi yet didn’t get the dark rum. Coke on tap rather than tins or bottles. 8 friends meeting in the lounge bar on a Saturday evening. The only guests in the lounge, a few more outside and in the bar

Quite the worse cheese and onion toastie I have ever had. Supermarket thin sliced bread and burger cheese slices. Apparently they had run out of cheddar but didn't mention it when we ordered. The advertised side salad just some slightly browning lettuce. Actually in-edible. Mentioned to two different staff but they didn't seem to see it as an issue. On the plus side the toilets were clean and although the response to the cheese issue was unsatisfactory the staff were otherwise friendly!

The food was lovely especially the chicken bites on the basket only 6.50 bargain for what you get good portion sizes! and the staff are lovely can’t fault them!

I’m a bit fussy with roast dinners but the Dolphin did not disappoint. They changed food items around for me and gave me a slightly smaller portion. Its was lovely and no issues with my fussiness. My children loved their food too and their dessert

Had the Roast Beef, it was lovely, nice to have all fresh cooked food, cauliflower cheese was lush, veggies were properly cooked, not half done like the fashion seems to be today, it was just like having a roast at home, the staff were all cheerfull and chatty, will be going again, and I will be going to have a breakfast as that looked good too. Well done Dolphin! As you've just opened you're doing a grand job

Avoid.Worst roast dinner ever. Everything was cold and not cooked properly. Nothing was homemade, everything tasted like a freezer roast dinner. The chicken was not roast chicken. Just chunks of reformed chicken. Previously someone eating chicken wings at the bar said not to order the food as it bad wish we had listened. Did complain but didn't get anywhere. The meal was barely touched

Brilliant service and food if you need a good night night out the dolphin is where to go the friendly and all around a great vibe and pub.

Stopped for lunch here. The food was lovely and plentiful though took a little while to arrive. The girl behind the bar was doing the work of two (give her a payrise!) as she was single handedly managing two bars. She was a model of efficiency and professionalism. This is a great little pub. Worth a visit.

Place nearly empty, stood at the bar for 5 mins and nobody came, wandered off to find another pub.

The meal was tasty but they didn’t have tomato juice and haven’t for a while, as I’m a teetotaller I can only drink tomato juice. This is the first pub I’ve been that now doesn’t stock it. My friend went there in a party of 13 she wanted tomato juice and complained. The male staff there has an attitude problem very abrupt,, not friendly at all.

An unexpected diversion through Newport Pagnell led to the discovery of this gem! A very warm and friendly welcome from Chloe & a personal recommendation to try the BBQ chicken toasted sandwich, which comes with fries and salad. Wow! This is the best toastie I ever tasted! I would highly recommend it. I'm not sure if it's on the official menu, so if it isn't, don't be shy in requesting it - you will not be disappointed! So good, I'll make sure every trip to Milton Keynes includes a diversion into Newport Pagnell and The Dolphin. Sunshine and watching the world pass by from the benches at the front was an added bonus. Totally chillaxed! Oh, and the locals don't bite either, especially if you tickle their tummies! We've just had a lovely meal tonight. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Thursday night is pie and a pint for £10. The meal was freshly cooked and the pie was homemade, it came with fresh vegetables, mash and roast vegetables and gravy. I'll definitely be going back.

Nice sitting in the sun 🌞 outside with my coke...the great thing about this is everyone is friendly on good vibes. The pub atmosphere is on a good vibrational level. Everytime i go here something happens good stories. GOod pranks too.

Had Sunday roast today 28/5/23 Emily was the chef, I’ve had some nice meals but this lunch was amazing soooo tasty and delicious even the gravy was thick and tasty too. A full plate and plenty of lamb. Even my husband said the meal was the best he’s ever had there, but he bad beef nice compliments to Emily she’s great. All in all the meal was worth the price. Well done Emily you meal was great. Thank you.

A meal for 3 with 2 Mrs.B's, (Wiffie & Mother) It was cold when we walked in but luckily the heating was put on soon after we sat down. Service was good & pleasant, food was good & all was thoroughly enjoyed. But when looking at the menu again, with the possibility of returning Monday for the Pensioners Roast @ £6.95, I noticed my Burger should have Onion Rings, I asked about this & was offered them!! At the end of the meal when we were stuffed, I politely declined this offer, But when I went to pay I noticed I was still charged for my extra Cheese & Bacon on my Burger @ £1.00 each, mmmmm a discount for No Onion Rings would have been nice, so No Onion Rings & No Tip!!!!! We did enjoy the meal though & would be happy to return.

Nice pub and surroundings. Found the the food to be mediocre. But the worst thing was it was freezing cold in there, most people had their jackets done up. (Not the potatoes!) There was some old fat geezer at the bar moaning about the happy hour promotion being withdrawn. He wouldn’t shut up about it! One of the barmaids was very rude when I mentioned the cold temperature in the place. I’m not sure what her name was but a very nice young bar person called Emily assured me it would be warmer the next time I came in.

Beautiful looking pub from outside. Had read good reviews. Dog friendly, so decided to go here for Saturday lunch. Inside, the pub is completely different from outside, it is completely soulless, all character gap been removed and it is bland with no atmosphere. Only 4 people eating and one man sat at the bar. Menu limited and typically sandwiches etc served with chips. After seeing how deserted and lifeless the pub felt, we decided just to have coffee and a dessert. Coffee lukewarm and not very nice. I ordered treacle tart, which had soft floppy pale pastry, appeared uncooked in centre, inedible but was warm so I assumed it had been briefly microwaved and returned it to the very pleasant barman. He spoke to chef who apparently said it hadn't been microwaved, it had been in the oven! Obviously not for long enough! My husband had lemon meringue pie which was cold, pale very soft meringue and tasteless filling, not nice. We paid and left, found another really nice dog friendly pub with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and had a very tasty lunch. We would not visit The Dolphin again, nor recommend it.

Very friendly bar and restaurant, great staff.

Treated to lunch by my mother in law. Food was good and well priced and they had a selection of alcohol free bottled beers to help with a dry January pledge. Happy to eat there again.

Sat outside in the sunshine with a lovely coffee admiring the wonderful hanging baskets.

Had a really very nice Sunday lunch (under£10) with my wife and son - we had the beef option. One of the best pub Sunday lunches we have had at a reasonable price and every part of the meal had real taste - well done to the chefs! What not to like?

Very slow service and tried to use a previous pulled half lager and topped up to pint. Not nice

Met with my family at this pub for Sunday Lunch how embarrassing just wish I had chosen elsewhere the food was a poor Sunday Lunch waited 35 mins for main Course don’t know the guys name but found him very rude no customer expertise skinny guy with the long hair we will not be returning due to mainly this guys poor attitude.

A last minute food booking and traveling down from Lancashire for s stay in Newport pagnell (gig in Milton Keynes that night) very accommodating and on arrival greeted by lovely lady. Food was of amazing quality and huge portions! I ordered a cottage pie and cheesy garlic bread as a side order but no need for the Gallic bread as the portion of cottage pie massive. Such great quality and so tasty. Proper home cooked comfort food! And reasonable prices too. A lovely note on our receipt saying ‘enjoy imagine dragons’ (the gig we were going to) a nice touch!

Went today 5/6/22 and had a Sunday roast . I had lamb mt husband had beef, this lunch was so hot, tasty and above all else moorish and delicious. So tasty even down to the thick gravy. If I could get away with I would have liked to lick the plate too. Thank you to the hef and please how do you cook your lamb please as I would to cook it at home like it. Plus thank you to the gorgeous waitress who served us to, she had patience when I stumbled over my words , she's a gem.

1 hour 15min before our food was served. All burgers off menu, we walked outside and low and behold burgers on sale by bar staff. Awful.

Liked the look of this place & the menu, so booked a table for 4. Unfortunately we didn't take into account that it was Good Friday & the place was heaving with all day loud Drinkers. But luckily being a nice evening they gradually moved outside, to leave us with excellent service & 5* food. Our starters were Spicy Chicken Wings & Soup, followed by Black & Blue Burger plus Ham, Eggs & Chips. Sis & Hubby ordered Whitebait & Prawn Cocktail, followed by Fish & Chips plus Toad in the Hole. We all loved what we had, all hot, very tasty & plentiful. Value was good, including Drinkies only £80.30. Might well return, but we will try & pick a quieter time.

Fantastic land lady and bar staff a credit to the pub welcomed all SWFC fans with top hospitality and service thank you. Who knows we may have to return in the future👍👌💯

found staff unfriendly and discriminatory stood at the bar for 10 minutes while everyone who came up kept getting served when asking if I was invisible was asked to leave I can only presume it was because my ethnicity felt very uncomfortable

Went for Sunday lunch was disgusting paid extra for 3 meats and Yorkshire pudding total £16 was given 2 burnt Yorkshire puddings meat was 3 types but so thin and not big slices roast potatoes were white and just 3 half cut had starters that...

Good food and nice atmosphere. Quite often a local musician plays his guitar and sings, which is also great.

The food was great. But what I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere, I witness the interaction that happens in a pub located in an small town were everyone knew everyone else, they greated each other and shared laughs.

Lovely family friendly atmosphere. Wide range of beers and ales. Great time had by all.

Came down from Scotland on a biking holiday and thought we'd have a few drinks here. We were told that we needed to be members to drink in here? We asked if we could join and how much it was? We were told that it was free to join but we couldn't join. Strange, anyway we got served outside after using our Scottish charm and thought we were going to be welcome now that we were seated. The place was full of what appeared to be "junior members" and they were allowed in with no fuss. Entertainment was the staff falling out because the manager let in some "junior members" who were told they weren't getting in by another member of staff. We asked for another round and was told the bar was closed, even though more "junior members" were piling in. Enough was enough so we left and went to the next bar along the road and they appeared to be more Scottish friendly and happy to accept our company and cash. Ended up having a great night, just not in the Dolphin.

Best pub in Buckinghamshire by a long way. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
