The Waterfront Cafe in Dover

We have eaten here a few times now and beyond the first visit which was good the quality just hasn’t been the same since. We ordered the chickpea curry which says it’s slow cooked, it wasn’t, the chickpeas were hard and I could have made better myself, very disappointed as it run by Indians which you would expect a decent curry at least. Services was not great, nobody cleared the table or asked us how the meal actually was. Not big portions either. Shame as the location is nice and the venue is nice too but the food isn’t worth the money

Absolutely awful. Food never arrived and the person on the phone was unbelievably rude. Honestly never seen anything like it before. Avoid this place at all costs!

A great place to go in Dover for a coffee or a few beers. Always great food as well with a lovely chilled environment. I’ve been going there for years and will continue to do so. Friendly staff and a fantastic location - what more can you want!

If you like an overpriced breakfast that includes cold beans, lukewarm mushrooms and insipid service then this should be your next stop.

This cafe has had an overhaul recently and is fresh and clean with a new lease of life. The food has always been good and the service great, and that remains the case with the added bonus of an upgraded environment. Marco P White has taken over this and the hotel restaurant next door and it has made a bit of a difference, with fresh white tiling and less noise from cabinets to deal with, which was the one thing that annoyed me previously. Enjoy an good coffee with a sea view.

Now a nice place to visit clean,comfortable,with friendly staff,its a shame about the food prices as they are a little expensive with small portions.

We had to wait 45 minutes for gettin our dish. No excuses! First , after 40 minutes a sandwich, 5 minutes later the dish es with fish n chips and chicken. Not worth wait in. And too expensive.

Ordered 2 Cumberland sausage baps. After 30 mins wait was served 2 awful microwave heated 'baps' with equally awful tasting sausages inside. Worst Cumberland sausage we have ever had - if it was?

Great location , good coffee , scummy snacks and fab breakfasts . Lovely to sit outside and look out over the water . Gloria and her husband very friendly .

My husband and I ordered 2 marina cream teas priced at £4.95 on the menu and a big sign on the wall. My husband paid by card and was charged £5.95 per order, when he questioned this the waitress told him they hadn’t changed the menu prices and that was the new price, my husband asked for the manager but never came, how many more prices are incorrect but seem to charge what they want

Great coffee house and especially the sea view! Nice coffee and bar food from next door Hotel. Yes, it could do with being upgraded, but my friends and I meet regularly here. The staff are always polite and never rush us. We recently spent 3hrs here over 2 rounds of coffee!! Loyalty points are an added bonus!!

Staff are very friendly, the food looked nice but it is very overpriced. I paid £8 for a large all day breakfast. The food was cold when it arrived, It was served on a large plate with the portion size of what I would call a regular breakfast. There was no tea or coffee included in the price either.

Why is this cafe so neglected? It has the benefit of being in a fantastic location, attached to a decent hotel and serviced by their chef's and kitchens. This place should be the 'go to' coffee shop in East Kent surely, but instead is just a sluggish attempt by the hotel owners at collecting a few extra ££’s. I have a hunch it’s just an inconvenience that just ticks along.

Food cold and well over priced. No coffee, juice or toast included in what is a very overpriced cooked breakfast. A big let down for our seafront. Won't visit again but stick to the Happy Chef just across the road.
