We went to go for a lunch. However, even though the signs and walls advertised food available at certain times, it was not being served. On entry, the bar tender was sat at a table away from the bar. The atmosphere was quite dark and inside seemed somewhat drab. With alot of effort, it could be a lovely place.

Had an excellent meal at The Royal Oak. Took advantage of their Tuesday free starter or dessert offer and had whitebait followed by a rump steak. Whitebait was excellent - very tasty and not too big. The steak was perfectly cooked to order and served with nice crispy chips with soft middles, onion rings, tomatoes. Beer was great as always. An excellent evening - thank you!

Great location First visit Pubs needs a total refurbished. Nice another landlord. Poor selection of ales and basic food . Pubs should be a gold mine unfortunately it’s underwhelming and will close eventually as it’s not supported. Garden is uninviting cheap furniture and only for kids. Such a shame as theirs no other pub local .

Popped in on the spur of the moment for lunch. It was moderately busy but the staff were friendly and attentive. The food menu isn’t massive but there’s enough choice and I would be more than happy to try any of the main dishes. We both had bangers and mash, which was delicious and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve had in a long time. Food and drinks are more than reasonably priced. There is plenty of parking in the street outside and it’s dog friendly too. Well done guys for running a little gem of a country pub. We will definitely be returning.

Apologies for the massive delay is this but we visited the pub while in town for a wedding. We were blown away with just how nice the food and particularly the service was. Some of the friendliest staff I’ve ever experienced. We were served by Shannon and Gina and they couldn’t have done more for us even though the place was packed! Thank you all and sorry this is wildly over due.

Had a lovely evening visiting The St Crispin and enjoying a great meal ! Very friendly welcome and great service topped off with a nice piece of skate for my wife and the very best homemade pie for me. Great entertainment going on in the bar with a little bit of karaoke to listen to. Will definitely be back soon !

We had breakfast here today, both had the vegetarian. An understandably long wait as a busy Easter Sunday. However for ÂŁ9.00 each excluding drinks, we expected a lot more. There were two eggs, a tiny veg sausage, one small tomatoe cut in half, a tub of baked beans, two paper thin slices of halloumi and two slices of toast.

We had a poor dining experience, one meal in particular, the stir fry chicken was very strange with slices of raw tomato and bottled silverside onions. The other meals were indifferent, chips not really hot, a real bugbear with me as it's something that's so easy to get right. They close tomorrow until March so were obviously just not that bothered and keen to get off home. It's a shame as it's an attractive venue with live music and a real nautical vibe.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic family roast at the railway and I have got to say it was superb. The roast was delicious, I had the beef and would highly recommend. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to our next visit 🥳 thank you Railway

I was a little hesitant due to some of the comments on here, but my experience was very positive. Good selection of drinks, beer garden on a sunny day, friendly and welcoming staff, what more could you ask for? Someone outside told me the pub is under new management recently. I absolutely will be back I highly recommend 👍🍺🍷 I didn't order food (not sure if they do food other than bar snacks), this is why I've not rated the food. But they have a big selection of crisps, nuts etc
