Friendly staff and lovely selection of cakes! Popped in to get a bit of work done - nice atmosphere and plenty of hot and cold drink options available. Flapjack was ace! WiFi took a bit of time to connect and table was a little tight for laptop but all in all a lovely small business with friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

Visited here for brunch. Food was distinctly average. Very small portions. Banana bread was ok but was let down by the "seasonal fruits" which consisted of very mushy defrosted frozen berries in a small pot. It would have taken nothing to put fresh fruit with this instead as this would have made the dish far better than it was. The fat was not rendered down properly on the bacon (with waffles) again a very small portion. No one checked backed to see if everything was ok so very minimal level of service. Wouldn't recommend this place as there are lots of other places to eat in the area.

Very overpriced and poor quality. Went in with my wife and son for a drink before an eye test. My son had a very overpriced (£3.10 for 1 cookie) it was very dry/almost stale. I ordered an americano which was served in a tiny espresso sized cup. Took 2 sips and threw it away. Tasted more like watered down instant coffee than a freshly made coffee. My wife ordered an iced latte and when she asked if they had syrups she was met with and blunt ‘NO’ from the worker. Will not be returning.

I tend to choose independent places to support local businesses, hence my choice to have brunch in this place. I am a regular weekend customer, and unfortunately I've have always experience poor customer service. The quality of the coffee and food is average considering the high price you pay, and the people working here never smiles back, nor have the desire to engage in any sort of conversation. Today I've asked for the cutlery to be changed as they were dirty. The lady at the counter abruptly took the dirty cutlery from my hands, handed me new ones and gave no apologies. Such a pity for a place that could have so much more potential. I might start exploring other places in MK.

Last time I visited this place was back in 2022/23 and have a decent experience with the food. I visited again in May 2024 due to being in the area and wanting breakfast. However, the experience this time around had fallen to average in comparison, mainly with food and drink, not the service. Food wasn’t all that. I had the ‘American’ Pancakes and bacon. Wasn’t anything American about it. In fact, they were actually ‘Dutch’ style pancakes and the bacon used was the standard ‘back’ bacon. I have explored a lot of American back when I was travelling and not once did I come across anything less than 5” across on a single pancake. As for drink, I asked for ‘Vanilla Latte’ but was told they don’t do syrup and brown sugar can compensate. All that does is add sweetness, not flavour. Can’t remember the last time I visited a coffee shop and told we don’t do syrups. I may come back to this place in the future but I’d certainly see what else was around the area instead next time around.

Love this place and people great personalities, coffee and food not bad either, Valentine's night we went asked Eleanor to pose with a red rose between her teeth which she duly obliged.. happy group..

Fantastic venue for my husband's 50th birthday party. Kirsty and team were great, both before and during the event - nothing was too much trouble. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. All the guests commented on how great a venue it is.

Popped in here and purchased a takeaway hot chocolate and a cookie. The hot chocolate was awful - not only was it minuscule (yet cost £3.70!) the milk was overheated and so had no texture and was bitter - it tasted so bad I threw it away. The cookie was bland and dry. I wanted to support a local company rather than a high street chain, but I definitely won’t be going back!

This place looked like it had so much potential but it sadly didn't live up to expectations. My Americano tasted like stewed filter coffee and the cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels were overpriced for what they were. A shame really as the people were very nice and it was a good vibe - but, I wouldn't go back based on this experience.

Having visited many times on a Friday lunchtime, after my last visit I won’t be going back. I should have realised when I walked in by the fact that lots tables had been left uncleared was unusual. After clearing a table ourselves and asking a member of staff to wipe down the table our drinks arrived, after asking a third time for the table to be wiped down we were told by a member of staff that he ‘didn’t like our attitude’. Sorry but basic hygiene and cleaning tables is expected by staff!! Coffee was poor, it used to be worth the extra, but not anymore. We won’t be back.

Our experience of this place in Stony was awful, the staff were unhelpful and uninterested, the menu very limited and nothing really suitable for my son who is 10. We had the humous bagel which was tasteless and so dry we couldn’t finish it and I received the teeniest tiniest cappuccino ever, not much bigger than an espresso and it was yuk. If I had been told they came in different sizes I would have ordered larger. Wouldn’t come again, so many other nice coffee shops in Stony.

£8.40 for two mugs of tea and a small brownie.....feeling robbed! The tea was not even that good, we left most of it.

I visited Out of office coffee house for brunch one weekend. The food and the atmosphere were great. I will definitely visit again.

Superb service from Joe, well made coffee and his artistry second to none. The best artwork I have ever seen… lovely ambience, background music at the right levels, easy parking and a lot of plug sockets/usb charge points too, clean and a delightful place for work/social/good menu

Had a business meeting here with a colleague in a booth. Coffee was excellent, breakfast really nice quality and flavoursome. Great service and facilities. Would recommend and I will return.

Popped to Witan Studios to grab a bagel and coffee for lunch, waited 55 minutes for the bagel, my friends came out 20 mins before mine. Had to chase up on it, then had to go up 10 minutes later and ask for it to be packaged for takeaway. Slightly annoying when I paid £8 to sit in, to just take it away and be 15 mins later than my lunch break. Coffee was nice, but 1 star for me

The place is freezing cold. Seriously, why have the air con on so high. Service is nothing to write home about, and the pancakes would have been nicer with fresh fruit, not defrosted. Also, save everyone some hassle and put the WiFi password, and some sugars, on the tables, instead of just having them at the bar. Coffee nice, though.

Tasty cheese bagel, nice cakes, excellent coffee and very helpful staff....highly recommended. Will return.

Dissappointed all over again. Why do people rave about it Avoided this place for a while after trying it and being let down by the service and the quality of the product. Once again my ' let's give it another chance' failed. No one waiting yet took several attempts to get served, didn't get the correct drink, overcharged for the size I got and the end product a simple coffee was cold. Staff more interested in their phones and make you feel like an inconvenience. Just a side note, the cakes are left out in the open no covers on. So once again I'll pass this place and go elsewhere on the same high Street where I will get served quicker and have receive the correct drink at the right temperature. What a shame .

Birthday treat breakfast, coffee was cold, breakfast was poor, apparently do not serve beans as the manager doesn’t like them. mushrooms cold, brought sausages home for our dog, really disappointing

I'm writing this review now as messaged them advising of both breakfast was cold as only 2 staff on at time, we went expensive to get nice food it did taste OK but not as cold on plate and felt this needed addressing. Otis replied...

We had breakfast here during our short stay. Pancakes were light and fluffy, we had them with berries and yoghurt. Coffee was also very good. Certainly enjoyed our visit.

Do some good food and coffee deals. Simple food with lovely coffee. I have so far tried the pasty and a salmon and cottage chees bagel. Delicious.

Its is designed to look like an independent speciality coffee shop but the quality of food, drinks and service was very much like a chain (a mediocre one at that) The coffee tasted bitter and the food was lukewarm and bland. The staff seemed uninterested...

Called in here for coffee and bacon and egg butties. Really tasty food and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Will visit again.

Slow service with overpriced, boring sandwich choices with no sauces available and the coffee was essentially hot milk. Disappointing.

Great service, always friendly, clean and comfy surroundings, the coffees are always great, and the baked goods are often different with GF and VEGAN catered for.

Highly recommend this lovely cafe in Newport Pagnell. Has a good selection of drinks and food and the staff are always lovely and service is quick. Good WiFi as well if you want to work out of there. They make a really nice chai latte...

Went to Rushden lake OOO, service was impeccable, super friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. Will come back just for the decent service. Makes such a change

The place is nice looking, nice chairs however coffee is bitter and the cappuccino is served in such a small cup, not value for money at all. Place was empty, such a shame as lady was friendly. Huge competition on the High Street, won’t be back again

Attending a meeting, having had no lunch, anticipating enjoying just one of their excellent coffees and a light snack, I couldn't resist the Couscous Buddha Bowl. So glad I ordered it. Full of lovely fresh ingredients - and I had the chilli flakes on mine too - it was a complete meal in itself. I can heartily recommend this addition to the Out of Office menu.

Great place to pop in for a relaxing cup of coffee, or indeed any other of the wide range of drinks available for all tastes/ages. Situated in the town centre in easy reach of the town's free car parks and main shopping area. Excellent service and good value for money. Offering a tasty range of breakfasts, cakes and lunches at reasonable prices. Worth a visit.

Grateful to OOO barista team for the best coffee around MK. Access to wifi with perfect vegan bakery options make me spend more and more time here. Amazing Coffee!

LUSH COFFEE when we visit our daughter and her partner in Newport Pagnell no visit is complete now without at least one coffee stop and Out of Office. Worth the 4hour drive south . Staff here are always cheerful, friendly and helpful. Coffee is superb and the cakes are rather lovely. Looking forward to our next trip south and our next visit here. Keep up the great work OoO.

Enjoyed a cake and a coffee in nice posy coffee glasses. Service was good. Toilet was good. Quite expensive but good.

As an avid tea drinker l was delighted with my herbal tea, however the selection of cakes is minimal which is disappointing. The chairs byare hard and uncomfortable. It is on the pricey side especially their cakes.

Nice friendly on the high-street coffee shop, casual and relaxed with a good mix of passers-by, locals in for the long haul, occasionals and curious visitors.

We have visited here twice to date and this afternoon popped in for an iced latte and an espresso.

Popped in on a very hot day for a quite coffee. Lovely atmosphere when entering and lovely aroma hanging in air from fresh ground coffee. Coffee and cakes lovely.

Tap water: staff happily filled my water bottle up! Everything else: the coffee here is delicious. The service is great too, the staff are really friendly.

I don't "get" the other reviews where people are so angry. Why don't you just "talk" to the attendants on duty, give them the chance to make things right, instead of being a wimpy kid keyboard warrior and blasting an independent business here!

First visit. Wanted to try a local business rather than Costa down the road. Empty at lunchtime tells it’s own story and an indication that this business won’t survive. Young staff were unwelcoming and cold. Was made to feel like they were doing me a favour. I wanted something to eat and was looking around for a menu. Staff offered no help or suggestions. Staff just stared at me despite it being hugely obvious I was looking for something , so I didn’t bother. The lack of warmth will cause this business to fail. Shame really as the coffee was great.

My favourite coffee shop in both Newport Pagnell and Stony Stratford! This is a little haven for my other half and I. We often pop into this local coffee shop for the great coffee and relaxed atmosphere. Love the glasses and the oatmeal and raisin cookie is a sure favourite as well!

Nice atmosphere but he drinks do not have the variety of costa. However have been a few times since it opened and it is nice to have an independant coffee shop and to watch it evolve. It is getting better and I say lets support it an invest in making it really good. They are learning as they go and I found them very open to suggestions :)

Mmm... I cannot stop thinking of the last time I visited Out of Office and the choice of vegan cakes I was presented with: a real treat to the eyes and Soul being spoilt for choice! Unfortunately, I tucked in straight away and forgot to take pictures...

Newport Pagnell branch - Service ordering at the till was very friendly and was asked to take a seat and the coffee would be brought over. 20 minutes later still no coffee, went up to ask we were told that ours would be next to be made, couldn’t work out what was taking so long as not that many people in the place but also couldn’t actually see any coffees being served around either! 10mins later coffee arrived. Very tiny cappuccino in the plastic mugs, not spoons or sugar arrived with it and non visible to access in the place. Coffee itself tasted very sour not a fan at all but may just not be to my taste. Very disappointed to have waited half an hour for something that was not up to standard in my opinion. Lady at the till was very good, refund given and we went off to Costa.

I have now visited the Newport cafe a few times and each time I am impressed. On one visit my newborn was really unsettled and was crying one of the staff came over and asked if he could help which made my day. I normally have a fruit tea which is lovely loose tea rather than a standard tea bag. The vegan wheat free cakes are amazing they have a different flavour each time I visit. It amazing to find a place that do wheat and dairy free cakes. Will be going back for more tea and cakes.

I always try and support the independents rather the big chains with overpriced cups of warm milk that vaguely taste of coffee. Really pleased I went here. Friendly staff, good prices and proper coffee.

Relaxed, I had my daughter with me who is one. Staff were friendly and well mannered. Wasn't too busy either.

I honestly don't understand some of the reviews here. It isn't the biggest shop but they have tried their best to get a reasonable amount of seats maybe slightly too much but its never really bothered me.

I had a very good coffee, a delicious cheese and ham toastie and a very nice homemade cake in this bright, cheery little coffee shop. I found the atmosphere informal and convivial and staff friendly, efficient and polite. Prices were reasonable.

Over priced, pretentious, too hot, very small coffee. Underfilled, overpriced sandwich. I probably would have forgiven that had any of the three members of staff been remotely friendly or welcoming but they weren't! The café was very quiet so it's not as if they didn't have time to be courteous. Nevermind plenty of other places to try in Stony Stratford.

Very disappointed this was great in the beginning visited a few times but this time it had changed. Hot chocolate not that hot and very weak. Not what it was at stony Stratford. The staff don’t really care. We had a problem with a cake we have had it before and it was a nice spong texture with soft centre but this time it was very soggy and not cooked in side and underneath. It was not the staffs fault but when we told them they said it was fresh so could not be the women in there was very dismissive and rude and called the information out so other customers old hear. so we just took it back to out table we gave them an opportunity of putting things right but they did not Seem to want to bother. They avoided clearing our table as the cake sat there. I stayed for a while to wait for my wife’s return so ordered another drink to be polite but they even bought it over and still ignored the dirty glasses and the cake and put the new one down this was the women serving. Then about an hour later with 3 serving not many people a person came over to clear he table at last and said didn’t you like the cake I said no it did not taste the same as before as it was not cooked he argued that it was meant to be like that but we had a lovely one before with no problem. He just said oh well and took it away. ( oh well we will just go to Costa like we use to. ) you had it so right in the beginning but owner or management took your eye off the ball to soon. who ever owns it should re- look at staff,training and your customer care. Don’t like giving bad reviews but how your staff handled this showed you didn’t want to put it right. With other bad reviews you need to be fixing this place quick before you loss more customers. To be honest no better than Costa and Starbucks at a similar price. 2 tea cakes were £5 which I thought was expensive

Cosy high street cafe with very good coffee. Pastries are good too. Only reservation was the lack of space.

Coffee great but staff always cold and unfriendly.....never smile or converse. No wonder Costa has more of a queue as more friendly.

Best coffee ever, indie artisan coffee served in exquisite glass tumblers. Oat milk flat white and sourdough toast with marmite my favourite. Also fresh cakes with vegan options. Friendly service - each coffee made with pride and brought to your table. Comfortable seating at the back - my go to refuge.

This was our second visit to Out of Office. We intended on just stopping by for a coffee but instead were tempted by a Cajun chicken sandwich and chocolate muffin. I am glad we were, as they were both delicious. I would highly recommend the sandwich, it was a lot better than anything served in the likes of Costa. Also loved the coffee, it's so nice having a good coffee place so close.

Excellent why go to costa!!!! When you can go to Out Of Office freshly made good tasty coffee not full of calories try it you wont be dissapointed

There was a choice of 4 sandwiches and we were asked if we wanted them toasted which we didn't. We discovered why they wanted to toast them as the bread was stale.

I have now visited Out of Office 3 times, and it is my favourite cafe in the area. Very good, friendly service, excellent coffee, and tasty cafe-style food. I also like that you can sit and relax for a while in the pleasant surroundings.

Lovely little coffee shop. I had black coffee but it was weak. The decor and presentation are lovely. Toasted sandwich was ordinary and no cutlery was offered so I had to use my hands to eat. Oddly, the napkin was on the plate and under the sandwich!

I love this place, it is a breath of fresh air a coffee place in MK that is indepedant! yes the decor is a bit sparce, however, I can get over that. It has a lovely view of the high street, the coffee is great plus as a non dairy milk drinker it thankfully does oat, almond and soya milk which is so rare as most chain coffee places (which I never go to as their coffee and milk choice is rubbish) only serve soya (soya in coffee is disgusting)

Independent coffee shop. Friendly staff, good coffee, free WiFi. We didn't have to shout to hear each other, unlike some of the large chains. Should be supported.

Nice ambiance, friendly service. Coffee served in a plastic thermal vessel - different! The jury is out on that one.

We’d heard of this coffee shop so popped in for some lunch. It was peak lunchtime but the place was pretty quiet.

This is exactly what the Milton Keynes area needs! Fantastic small independent coffee shop offering great coffee.

We visited here on Sunday to relax and enjoy a good coffee and we were not disappointed, we sat on lovely comfy chairs by the open well what is a fantastic feature,the coffee is gorgeous so smooth and the feeling of the place is relaxed and calm it's a great change from all the big coffee shop chains.

Visited soon after opening as a change from the big chains. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We only had a couple of coffees but they were both perfectly served and delicious. Nice to see it busy.

A lovely friendly coffee house with great atmosphere. The coffee was amazing too. Great to see an independant coffee house doing very well...And (unlike the American chains) paying tax in the UK! Worth a visit...And they do a loyalty card also which is cool.

Have been in several time now, very friendly staff, good atmosphere and most importantly delicious coffee.

The staff here were so hospitable!! They ALL couldn't have done more to welcome my family and make sure we were comfortable and well looked after. My 15 month old son and 10 year old niece loved the surprise in the floor and the decor was perfectly contemporary yet cosy. We had 2 babies with us and found the sugar free, organic snacks available were perfect!! My sister also requires gluten free and there was a good selection for her too. All diets catered for! Well equip and lovely! Will definitely be returning and recommending!! Thanks for the perfect pit stop ☺

After a disappointing visit last week we decided to give this new place another go. 2 ladies in front no-one else around. My observation this morning (sat) Young lad on till very slow no communication to barista, doeesnt get cakes on plates seems to be daydreaming, doesn't advise when someone orders food such as toast so customers being served when either drinks already getting cold or when food is sat for a while so always playing catch up. Previous customer kept going back and forward asking for things like jam and butter a spoon that should have been on the tray when they were served. Witnessed the lad pick up the croissant with his bare hands whilst holding tongs in his other? cant multitask It took over 11 mins (yes i got fed up and started counting) to take payment serve on the till the ladies in front of me with a coffee each and a croissant each, they didn't get their items at the counter, the coffees were taken to them, then after chasing the cakes we hurriedly served. Extremely disjointed team , one young girl doing all the running about while making sandwiches, and toast , she was having to stop and take trays of backed up orders out to tables as again the till server didn't get the trays ready with plates and items on there ready in order for the coffee to be added. After this long wait we had to then wait again after ordering as the coffee machine having issues working. The final straw was my coffee was murky and not pleasant. I left this place frustrated unhappy and overcharged for what i got. One of the servers cleared our tray and I gave her a full glass of coffee back that I had not drunk she never questioned it just took it away. Terrible terrible terrible. i could scream as such high hopes for this new business after they bigged themselves up. My advice, sort your staff out and get quicker .
