Lovely hotel, friendly staff, comfy room and bed. Great location. Sadly I can't stay again as the WiFi in the room couldn't support a teams call (no camera) and there was no phone signal to hotspot. I'm disappointed as this would have been a hotel of choice.

Zoe; what a wonderfully friendly and helpful staff member. She has accommodated a last minute meal with my family and also helped guide us through the menu. Truly made a difference to the idea of dining with a large group. 100% would recommend coming back. 3 star for rooms as we haven’t stayed.

Stayed over night after Allo Allo function. Staff friendly and food and service good. Room needs an update. Bathroom fan noisy, and the switch to turn light on needed a step ladder to reach. Noisy guests in next room making noise until 2.30am. Would not recommend.

Brilliant location, Very welcoming Pub/Hotel friendly staff clean tidy rooms,not noisey . Restaurant food was quick,hot, plentiful. Bed was comfortable nice firm mattress 2 fuffy pillows clean crisp sheets medium tog duvet, would highly recommend a stay breakfast in morning was made to order with plenty of choices for people VG, Gf, give it a visit.

We had rooms in the coach house and they were a bit tired. My loo flushed only if you worked the handle!! I couldn't change the volume on the TV with the remote! Small things. Breakfast was excellent albeit a bit slow but we went on a Sunday so we were cool with that Service was friendly and prompt

Myself and my family visited on Christmas eve, The 5 stars are for the food and for the service from taya, there were massively long delays for drinks (45 minute's) we had food items come out wrong, but taya was brilliant and she resolved any issues we had.

We had a family meal here in a private function room. The room was fine, nicely decorated, service was not great but food was not good at all. We will not be back, and I would not recommend anyone else go there for a meal.

Overnight stay for fawlty towers afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast. Pleasant staff and surroundings, lack of guiness a disappointment. Bedroom fittings a little tired and 2nd hand but in keeping with building. Bottles of water would have been nice.

Boxing Day dinner No atmosphere only two tables dressed and customers could come in and order of the normal menu.so really you couldn’t call it a Boxing Day dinner.

Was here for a wake on 16/12 The staff were lovely, the food was delicious and the staff in the main bar (not part of the wake staff) was amazing too. Really happy and chatty. Will definitely return.

Visited the venue again! My son lives locally. Always good and staff were excellent as always and particularly Christine who says she is the supervisor, she is a great communicater and host. Breakfast is 5 * and tasty too. Be there again in 2025

We came for a thank you lunch. Immediate welcome and service from Christine. Drinks arrived promptly as did the food. All meals served together by Kirsten. I had chicken in the basket, hot, freshly cooked and a generous portion. All of our meals were presented well too. The chef needs to be complimented! Will definitely come back!

Had a party here and the staff were amazing. They went out of there way to help. Christine Went above and beyond with her help on the day and at breakfast the next morning. Lovely, clean accommodation in a quaint little town. Staff were amazing, especially Christine, Laura and Lewis. Nothing was too much trouble for this team. Lewis’ jolly personality and big smile in the morning sets you up for the day. Food was amazing, I would definitely recommend The Cock Hotel. We have already planned our next visit!

Stop here regularly. Old coaching inn with original features. Friendly staff always there to help. Breakfast made to order and is always superb. Great beers and excellent wine and the evening food is excellent. It is an old building so rooms have plentiful character (if you want air con and uniformity prob best go to central MK). Nice courtyard for food /drinks in summer. Excellent location in stony Stratford with easy commute to MK if required.

Our company recently held a two day sales conference at The Cock Hotel. From start to finish we were well looked after, nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. Good rooms, great food and a friendly bar. We will certainly go back.

We were staying for 4 nights in hotel. Right from the start we got excellent service from Christine who booked us in. Our room was on first floor and Christine noticed straight away that my husband would struggle with stairs. She changed us to a ground floor room off the courtyard. That good service continued throughout our stay . All of the staff were friendly and helpful, always a welcome smile and eager to please. Food was very good and reasonably priced. My only criticism is that the decor is very tired and dated.

Visited for Midweek lunch. Had booked but not busy. Very attentive service from all staff. Bar staff very good. Food was first class, value for money and very flavoursome. Nice selection of sandwiches and main courses. Highly recommended

We had a wake here for our dear grandfather after his sad passing. Everything from the very first interaction to the actual day was perfect and everything we could have hoped for. The staff on site were friendly and helpful and the room was set out lovely. Our barman, Louis looked after us well and Christine kept popping in to check if there was anything else we needed. We didn’t have time to sort a playlist but they played some lovely background music which wasn’t overbearing and really set the tone. The food was delicious and the cakes were amazing. Thank you to Tim and his team, you gave us a lovely day celebrating the life of our wonderful ‘GDad Bill’ We’re so grateful!

Staff were lovely no faults but rooms were disgusting carpets were stained n vile bathroom was dirty and mouldy hallways had wires under carpets ceilings were rotten n some parts were hidden with cardboard

We held a 90th birthday party at the Cock Hotel, thanks to all who were involved in making it such a lovely celebration. Everything went smoothly on the day and the afternoon tea was tasty and beautifully presented. Sara had guided us through the planning arrangements, Tim was patient and helpful with setting up the room just the way we wanted, Daniel worked hard throughout the afternoon to keep everyone supplied with tea and coffee, always with a friendly smile and readily helping with anything we requested. It was lovely to see all our guests enjoying the food and joining in with the excellent entertainment provided by the House Jazz Band, Good Time Jazz. We will all have wonderful memories of a joyous occasion for many years to come. Thank you.

We visited The Cock Hotel for lunch and was greeted by a cheery Christine. Food was absolutely amazing, atmosphere was great and all the staff were friendly :) Couldn't have asked for a better stop for lunch and will definitely come back for Christine's smile and infectious giggle.

The food simply wasn’t very good. Thai curry was simply not nice. Fish and chips was ok but one mouthful tasted odd and I was ill afterwards. Lovely staff.

I’ve been here a few times with my family and I have to be honest the service and the food is always fantastic we had Zoe, Kirstyn, James and Tim. As soon as we came into the Cock Hotel we were greeted by the lovely staff and was greeted by Tim who gave us Menus and a kids menu and crayons to entertain the little one. After sitting down for a few minutes looking over the Menu Zoe came over to greet us and get a drink order she was extremely friendly and start talking to the youngest. Are drinks came out impeccable fast we then got are food order taken. Within 20ish minutes are meals were out and the Burger I had was fantastic one of the best I have had in recent times. Tim came to check see food was all good which was very much appreciated. We then went to get more drinks from the bar and Kirstyn served us who was very lovely and made are drink very quick and was very nice to chat. Definitely will return very soon 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My family and I went on sunday for a sunday roast, we were very impressed as everything was cooked to perfection,. we had turkey and it was delicious! the manager was so friendly and helpful :)

We stayed at the Cock Inn Stoney Stratford for a family occasion... Aunties 100th birthday.... We had an afternoon tea/buffet for approx 65 people, a few of us stayed overnight, and enjoyed a good breakfast..catering well for me being gluten free. Plenty of parking for all, rooms were spacious and clean, staff were very nice and nothing seemed too much... Christina and the manager looked after us so well throughout our short stay... Thank you.

Booked it for an evening for a bunch of mates to hang out together over drinks and dinner. We were seated in the adjoining area to the main bar. Service was amazing and quite frankly the food was some of the best that we had ever tasted. The steak was well done, the vegan fish and chips were so close to the real thing. The desserts were rich and sumptuous. Despite the short staff, the service was spot on and very attentive.

Me and my daughter visited for a late lunch last Saturday (26th March). The pub was busy as there was a wedding on but we had a lovely seat in the restaurant area. Our server Logan had only started the week before but honestly, he made our visit such an enjoyable one! He was so friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble! He coped so well despite being on his own at times and we thought he was an absolute star! The food was wonderful too and when we next visit we will be asking for him to serve us again! We love this pub and it’s lovely atmosphere!

We were greeted by very politely by Charlotte on arrival and offered a choice of tables in the restaurant. The drinks were served very quickly and the meal was obviously freshly cooked, very tasty with more than ample portions. Charlotte was very positive and attentive throughout our visit which was a great help. We will definitely visit again again.

We often go with our 10 month old and dog and every time they are always so welcoming. There is always someone that helps to get a high chair, ensure the dog has some water and they always make sure we have everything we need to have a good time. Couldn’t recommend it enough if you fancy a pint with a family!

Had lunch here but service very slow, waited 45 minutes for our main course. However these were good when they arrived, we had Caesar salad with chicken, and the chicken tikka. My friend’s Bakewell tart looked excellent but I was disappointed with my crumble, it was actually a shortcrust pastry tart with something like jam in the bottom and covered in crumble.Service was difficult to locate, they seemed to be congregating in another room.

We stayed two nights in the Cock Hotel, and have left a review on the hotel, in which we felt that the charm of the hotel, and the friendliness and willingness of the staff made up for various other shortcomings, and we'd be happy to stay again. We used the restaurant both nights, as it was convenient to do so, and we had a 20% off offer because we were quests. However, while we would be OK to use the hotel again, we would be unlikely to use the restaurant. The dining room reflects and amplifies sound, so it is unpleasantly loud most times, and can be distressing when there are rowdy and/or drunken parties in the room. After an uncomfortable Friday night we asked to be sat in a different room for the Saturday, and were informed that the other rooms were worse. Our daughter's first choice of meal was not available, so she selected a pizza which was rather dry, and she didn't eat it. I tried some, and agreed that it wasn't very attractive. For my meal there were no roast potatoes available, so I was offered chips or mash. I selected the mash, which was from a packet, and poorly made up (not enough liquid). It was not a good meal and certainly not good value - one course for two adults and one child, and one bottle of house wine, after the 20% discount, cost £43. We did have a better meal on the Saturday - we had the salmon, and all ingredients had been cooked fresh. We had beer with the meal. This time the cost was a more reasonable £25. However, we had to wait an hour to be served. There was an odd moment when after we had sat down we were asked to get back up and come to the till to give our credit card details. Given that we were guests at the hotel, and had already given our credit card details three times (on booking, on arrival, and on paying for the meal the previous night) we were perplexed by this, and despite explaining this to the waitress, she insisted that we got up and walked back with her to the till. It later turned out that she was new. Mistakes happen. It's just a shame for the restaurant and for us that it was one of several mistakes that made for a less than ideal experience. However, the staff are all pleasant and friendly, and the meal on the second night - although considerably delayed - was tasty and good value. So it is possible to have a good experience here. But it's a bit like playing Russian roulette, and given the uncomfortable ambiance of the room, that's not a game worth the risk.

We felt very comfortable during the Covid pandemic with excellent Covid safety.We enjoyed it so much we returned on Tuesday night with our Son Ans girlfriend and again had a delicious meal with excellent service from the very nice and helpful waitress Michelle.

The staff were super amazing, both my friend & I are diabetics, & they made sure our drinks were diet. I am disabled with a stick & restaurant staff again, were super amazing. Todays was the best food from there as yet. Normally the food is very good. But we fancied something different to normal. We both had the scampi, & it was exceptional is all we said. Ate every single bit, nicely presented, & so lovely to eat.. Prices are very reasonable. One lady said she will pass my message onto kitchen.. But where better to put it, than public.. Well done to all kitchen & all restaurant staff who were working lunch today Friday 9th Oct. Well done to you all, beautiful food & beautiful people... 5 stars straight off from both of us. Plenty of parking around rear of hotel. Friendly check in. Room was period to building, some decoration a little tired. Great quality food and good pint of Estrella. Shower over bath was quite good. Excellent breakfast and coffee. Would recommend

We came in during the ease of lockdown. We had one lad I think named forest as our server. The place has had its issues in the past- however was rectified by the great service we experienced. Forest- A real credit to the company.

I visited here for the first time with friends for Sunday lunch, we were quickly seated and someone came to take our drinks order.We had to ask for our food order to the taken because no one came back, we were in a quiet side area with one other couple dining.Our starters took over thirty minutes to arrive, we weren’t given a waiting time and even the waitress seemed unsure as to why it had taken so long since they were so quiet at that time but it was very tasty. We had garlic mushrooms and mussels followed by three roast dinners which arrived slightly faster than the starters. The waitress also seemed confused as to what the dishes were actually meant to be served with and at first told us we had to pay extra for Yorkshire puddings when the menu clearly stated it arrived with them?A couple of items were missing from our dinners so when I asked we were told they were still cooking them, surely Sunday dinner items are prepared slightly in advance ready to be served by 12pm with the dinners going out? When the crackling eventually arrived we had already finished our dinners which was a little disappointing.They offered us free desserts so we all had ice cream sundaes, the food what we had was very tasty but I wouldn’t rush back for the service unfortunately.

Lovely hot drink and gorgeous pud - stopped in after a dog walk - dogs welcome always a plus. Sophie was absolutely lovely and made a big fuss of my 2 little fur babies who gave her 10 out of 10. Nothing too much trouble - will definitely go back. Thank you Sophie

Meet friends today and was welcomed by the warm hospitality of the lovely Atlanta and Luaren. Exceptional customer service and the most friendliest customer service ive ever had.

Mum and I had a delicious lunch here today. When we arrived we were shown to a table and given paper menus. You can place your order via the app or at the bar. Mum chose the scampi & chips, and I had the mussels with crispy fries. Both meals were excellent. Our server was a lovely young lady called Sophie, and she was very pleasant and attentive. We felt very comfortable eating here due to the excellent safety & hygiene measures in place. Will definitely return.

The atmosphere is really relaxed and comfortable, food was amazing and staff were helpful, kind and made you feel safe. It also was really reassuring to see everyone encouraged to follow guidelines and everything was being cleaned thoroughly. It’s a lovely place to come and relax and have some decent food and drink!

Booked for a family meal to celebrate my daughters birthday. They have all the necessary procedures in place to make you feel safe during these worrying times. Staff were so helpful and let me know about the allergy info as my daughter has a nut allergy. Great food all arrived hot and together and we didn't have to wait very long. Absolutely lovely place to dine! The food was all fresh with a beautiful combination of flavours. Michelle, our waitress, was wonderful, so accommodating and attentive. She hand made my dessert by hand and even laughed at my very poor jokes! Would definitely recommend! The cock never disappoints! Xx

Another great meal at The Cock. Good steak and crispy chicken, excellent onion rings, lovely brownies. The service in these times is fantastic, Michelle and Lauren being the latest of a number of excellent waiters and waitresses/bar staff to look after us. The Cock is Really well set up for Covid-safe eating. You are welcomed at the door and your details taken, there is hand sanitiser in multiple locations, staff wear visors, tables have “just cleaned” signs on them, you can stay in your seat and order on the Greene King app and the toilets are well adapted to ensure social distancing. We would definitely recommend this pub with its friendly staff and good food.

Back again for dinner on 25 August to make use of the Eat Out To Help Out discount scheme and really enjoyed our experience at the Cock Hotel, Stony Stratford. Very welcoming on arrival by the hosting staff, in particular Forrest was very accommodating and friendly. We was not rushed throughout the evening and the food was delicious as always. Again, the measures Implemented for social distancing should set standards by which all other hospitality businesses should follow. Cannot recommend highly enough, and thank you once again to Forrest and all the staff for a lovely evening!

I would 100% recommend this lovely family restaurant. It is great for the family, will definitely be coming back. They are very accommodating and are friendly with children and dogs. Their roast dinners are amazing. Additionally, Michelle is a lovely character with a friendly face to welcome you to the restaurant, she was extremely helpful by getting the dog some water and by giving the children some colouring packs. A very accommodating restaurant with incredible staff. The one way system and track and trace is working extremely well. They also offer the Eat out to Help out scheme!

We visited on 1st August and were served by Michelle for the majority of the night. She had to deal with some difficult customers who obviously didn't understand or want to obey the covid rules. She dealt with them well and her service didn't falter, she always served us with a smile! Thanks so much Michelle!

Michelle has offered excellent service during these challenging times, even with some extremely difficult customers. We are happy to have stumbled across this place for some quiet drinks, unlike the young rowdy lot who obviously turned up just to cause trouble.

Lots of virtue signalling about ‘keeping you safe’. Face masks, visors, hand gel, paper menus, t-shirts. Sadly service and food really poor. Advised to use the app to order and pay. Intermittent network coverage and no WiFi offered. Eventually got order to go through. 20 minutes later asked where our drinks were. 10 minutes after that they finally arrived. Food took another 15 minutes. Very average roast, although reasonably priced. Tried to order dessert with app but eventually gave up and ordered through a waiter. Poor staff looked hot and bothered in their masks. People aren’t going to bother with this joyless experience if you don’t sort out WiFi and timely delivery of drinks.

My son has his wedding reception there. One hundred and fifty guests with the best buffet.The food ran out!Later found out they lost the paperwork, 100 guest with the cheapest buffet.More food, sorry the kitchen closed!Late night bacon rolls as ordered. Sorry kitchen closed.Son’s mother-in-law went in the kitchen, staff drinking our sparkling wine.Another occasion we went to the film society there. Ordered a meal two hours before the film. One excuse after another and in the end cancelled the order.Never again will my feet cross their threshold!

I'm writing this in the hope that someone from the Cock Hotel will read it and take note....I don't want to put people off visiting nor would I like to think that the Cock Hotel might lose business through bad reviews. I don't like it when any pub goes out of business, but I really thing they need to try harder. I only go to the Cock occasionally to the Scala film society evenings. I have never eaten there but I do get a drink from the bar and sometimes the service is incredibly slow even when they are not busy.My main comment though is about how dirty the toilets are and the floor in the corridor that leads to the function room. Toilets look like they only rarely get cleaned. When I went last year someone had kicked a large hole in the wall -it has been repaired ,but badly. The corridor floor is so disgusting that your feet stick to it! The hotel seems to do well as a wedding venue - I can think that people in love don't notice sticky floors and toilet floors still covered in glitter from the last couple's wedding!

I had my wedding at the cock hotel on the 09/01/20 it was an amazing day! With incredible customer service leading upto the big day! All the staff were incredible but 2 members of staff really shon out Angie and Forest. Angie couldn’t do enough to support me on my big day ❤️ And forest behind the bar was incredible really felt like he was part of the party really friendly and fun. Thank u all ❤️ I would highly recommend the cock for any event you may have coming up !!
