We recently hired this venue for my sisters baby shower. It was an absolute shambles! At first they said we would have the entire place to ourselfs and 2 weeks before the event decided they would keep their out door area open meaning the general public was in and out whilst we was playing games and eating our afternoon tea. That was fine we said ok no worries it is what it is. On the day we arrived no welcome from any staff members, we all ordered drinks at the bar before sitting down once we sat down the sandwhiches started coming out. On the booking form it did say its the chefs choice on the day what filling you get but we will try to give you a selection of what you would like. My sister in law wrote absolutely no salmon as none of us like it and put a few suggestions of what we did like egg mayo, tuna mayo, coronation chicken. The sandwhiches come out not one of the suggestions we wanted but we all had salmon. We called a staff member over and explained none of us would eat it. The staff member with attitude took the salmon away and said she would get some plain ham. The manager then come over said we did tell you it was chefs choice on the day and this is tut tut by the time you get your new sandwhiches ill be chucking you all out. Very weird thing to say we continue on. Then the cakes come out advertised as fresh home made cakes what come out was a frozen selection of cakes from iceland. Literally can get the picture up from their website and that is whats infront of me. The staff member had no clue what any of them where to tell us either. After all the food was braught out the tea and coffees finally come some with no cups, no spoons no sugars really silly stuff surely if you book an event you make sure you have enough of these things to give out to everyone. Then we were left not checked on once to make sure it was all ok or if we would like any more teas of coffees the ladies that ordered the processco afternoon tea didnt get their free processco till we had all finished eating. Whilst we are eating drinking playing games people from our party and the general public outside eating and drinking needed to use the toilet left on a lead tied to a table was the managers dog. The manager explained the dog was nervous which is fine many people in our party have dogs and are dog lovers. We knew to just walk past the dog to go toilet not to stroke it or make a fuss the dog barked, went to bite and growled and showed its teeth to everyone that walked passed to go to the toilet one poor elderly gentlemen tried to walk past to go to the toilet and go shouted at by the manager not to touch the dog which he explained he didnt he was just trying to get past. Bit of a silly place to leave a nervous dog because obviously people will be in and out of that are a lot and then to shout at paying customers isnt good service at all from the manager. When a member of our party tried to talk to the manager about all of these issues as the end so as not to cause a scene the manager didnt apologise for anything. She got defensive shouting and mimicking the member from our party trying to explain everything that had happened and then kicked her out. They shouldnt book events as they dont have service skills or food to cater for them!

We had paid for a group afternoon tea to host my baby shower on the 29/06/24. Seeing as though I’d been here plenty of times before for drinks I assumed this would be the perfect location to host a baby shower. I couldn’t have been more wrong. To start with I had politely asked for a few specific sandwiches to have with our afternoon on the booking form I filled in prior to the event due to having quite a few fussy eaters within our group. Not one of the sandwiches I had asked for was provided. We did mention that most guests wouldn’t eat the salmon sandwiches that were provided and asked that we be given an alternative option. The owner said “we can make some up but you’ll be cutting in to your time and before you know it we’ll be chucking you out”. This wasn’t said in a light hearted manner, she was quite blunt and rude, along with other members of her staff. (Maybe you have to be rude to pass the interview process to work here). Although this was frustrating I was willing to leave it be as we was there to enjoy the planned event. However, it took staff 15-20 minutes after bringing out the sandwiches to start offering tea and coffee, which again wasn’t fantastic as they wasn’t writing down what people were ordering so were forgetting how many orders of each there were and were then being rude to members of my party when they were asking 15 minutes later if they could have their coffee. Next joke.. their afternoon tea advertisements states “a selection of homemade cakes and treats”, couldn’t have been further from the truth. We got served a selection of cakes that are frozen from Iceland, to top it off we asked staff what flavours the cakes were and they couldn’t tell us (we actually had to look up the flavours on the Iceland website). At this point the experience hasn’t been great.. but there’s more.. The owner had brought in her dog and it was tied to a table at the back of the room, right opposite the customer toilet. Now the owner warned us the dog was nervous and not to touch it however guests couldn’t even go to the toilet without the dog growling/showing its teeth and the dog actually lunged at a number of people, a couple being from our party and another male customer outside of our party. (The manager actually shouted at him for using the toilet as he wasn’t buying anything and didn’t even apologise for her dogs actions). Now im a dog person and this wouldn’t usually bother me but on the occasion I went to the toilet the dog was right forward as if guarding the area and showing its teeth at me. I believe that if it wasn’t tied to a table it would have gone to bite me. (This has been reported as clearly this is a dangerous dog and should certainly not be in a public area, especially when nervous and people are in and out all day). As we was packing up to leave my mum asked to speak to the manager in private as she wanted to discuss some of the things that had happened through out. The manager didn’t want to speak in private so the conversation was had in the main seating area. My mum first brought up about the sandwiches. Without even letting her finish the manager went on the defensive, became extremely rude and was shouting at my mum. (How this woman works in hospitality is beyond me let alone manage a place). My mum remained calm throughout and just wanted to explain her points. The lady continued to be rude and even started to mimic what my mum was saying. So if you are planning to have an event here I’d avoid at all costs. I won’t be going back here and neither will members of my party. Such a shame as the venue is in such a lovely location. It’s just a shame about the staff that work here.

Coco Latino Ramsgate Cafe in Ramsgate The most awful place I’ve ever been to. We had booked afternoon tea for 15 people. Food was slow coming out and sandwich orders wrong. My daughter was asked to put down choices of sandwiches and we didn’t get any that we preferred and when we said she got balshy, went out the back to get paperwork and said where does it state that on here, so rude. Manager said we best all start eating now as she will be chucking us out soon. Didn’t get tea or coffee til half way through once sandwiches were eaten and started on cakes. So disorganised and manager was so rude to most on the table. She had her aggressive dog with her in the cage but was tied up but had to go past it till go to the toilet where it could reach u and it tried going for an elderly man. It was growling at everyone that walked past and if u got too close it became more aggressive. The whole experience was a shambles. Definitely would not recommend. So rude and unorganised. It says the cakes are made fresh on premises but the cakes were identical to the frozen ones in Icelands for £6.75. Absolute joke. Have added pictures of the nervous but viscous dog right by the toilets and pictures of the cakes they say were cooked and homemade to the identical box of frozen cakes from Iceland for £6.75 for a box of 10 but charge nearly £20 per head for afternoon tea.

If you’re considering hiring this location for any kind of event then my advice would be not to bother. I arranged a baby shower for this location with afternoon tea for 17 people. We were told that they would be shutting the restaurant for us as we were a large group, however two weeks before the event, they advised that they would be keeping the outside area open for customers; therefore going back on their word. We were sent a menu which states that for £19 each you get a selection of homemade sandwiches and cakes. To start, we suggested at least 5 sandwiches that most guests would eat, none of these were provided. They were all cheese and Tomato or salmon, which wasn’t on the list. One guest was gluten free and whilst they catered for this, it was requested they had salmon and they were the only guest not to get salmon. Secondly, the cakes are not homemade. They are quite clearly purchased from the local Iceland which is a 4 minute drive away from the location. This is proven by the cakes provided and the images displayed on the Iceland website ( see photos for reference). We also asked the staff what the cakes were, flavours etc and they couldn’t tell us! This is also false advertising and not worth the money. The chocolate afternoon tea is also not worth the £27 they charge. All you get is some small pots of chocolate, around 6 small sandwich fingers, 5 strawberries and some marshmallows with pretzels. Whilst the food was disappointing and not as advertised, the service was also poor. The women running it, who I believe to be the owner was rude throughout our visit. She advised when we went in that she had her own family dog there ( who is not a guide dog or assistant dog). She advised that this was a nervous dog and not to approach. However the dog was placed at the back of the restaurant, right near a toilet which customers use. This meant we had to walk past the dog. The dog went for multiple people on more than one occasion, including other customers that were allowed in. The dog was showing its teeth, growling and lunging towards people, with the only thing stopping it from harming people was the lead it was attached to, whilst it was tied to a table all afternoon. We raised this with the owner however she didn’t seem to care and just kept saying ‘ he’s just nervous’. To add, other members of staff were also rude and heard to be saying ‘ we will kick them out at 15:30 unless they keep buying drinks’. This is not only rude but shows that they are only after money and don’t care about the customers experience. Myself and my party had all purchased drinks outside of the £365 we had already paid for this shambles of an afternoon tea. When issues were raised about the food and the level of service, the owner became aggressive in her tone and started to raise her voice. This is completely unprofessional and not the correct way to speak to paying customers. She was also insulting in her tone and mimicked actions of guests. I would strongly advice everyone to avoid this location unless you like over priced Iceland made food and your hand bitten by a dangerous dog.

Unfortunately our favourite cafe has closed recently so we tried this place, enticed in by the luxury, on tap Belgian hot chocolate and the dulcet tones of Dolly Parton. Unfortunately, it wasn’t great inside. Despite being the only table occupied, we had to go to the bar to order. Table service is fairly standard these days. The much anticipated hot chocolate was disappointing, two of our sandwiches appeared ten minutes after the first two and certainly were not worth the wait (or price) and the service generally was very “laissez faire”. Our out of town friends were not impressed and we certainly will not be back. If I could rate zero out of five I would. Avoid

I entered Ramsgate from the west, and as I sauntered along the military road by the harbour, this was the first coffee stop I came to. It's one of a string of small cafes, bars, and businesses occupying what must have once been storage caverns for the maritime and military industries. The walk along there is gorgeous, because you're at the foot of the magnificent historical brick walling and arches that clad the chalk cliffs. Inside, Coco was very theatrical, and darkly atmospheric, and looked like the sort of place that would come to life in the evening. I took my coffee and cake out front and sat next to a vintage contraption with bike seats attached to it and gazed out onto the sunny scene. Heaven. My Americano was small but decent. With that I had a tasty bit of apple-and-cinnamon cake, though it had a couple of chewy, indigestible bits in it which I thought at first were plastic but were maybe baked pips. The cafes got busier as I went on closer to the centre, so this had been a great choice for a peaceful moment in a quirky, unique spot. You won't see military architecture like Ramsgate's military arches anywhere else.

I had the Smashed Avocado on a Sourdough Bagel topped with chilli flakes and drizzled with sriracha. The sriracha on avocado was a revelation and I will certainly be recreating this at home. It was delicious. Service was quick, I did take off one star as the other half’s Brie & bacon toastie was extremely salty. Latte’s were made well too. I would go back for that amazing bagel 👏🏻

What an amazing find that was worth the two hour drive. This has got to be the most friendliest bar, diner, cafe - call what you wish, that weve been too. Great music giving a latino vibe as we sat overlooking the beautiful marina for our lunch. We were blessed with lovely weather, to start. We sat outside, took in the weather and views, drank the most amazing cocktails (prepared to perfection by Ruairi). We ordered some hand made chocolates as a desert following our lunch which was deliciously made by Claire. We were attentively looked after also by Amy and especially Carol - who left us feeling we'd known her for years. The weather changed however the atmosphere didn't. We just tucked ourselves inside the premises arches and finished off our stay. The place is dog friendly too Perfect outlook, great location and parking in the marina car park was £7.50 for 24 hours so this great place was easily accessible. Dont hesitate - visit this special bar that apparently provides live music some evenings.

I used to love this place but the last four times I've been, including evenings there has been a very badly behaved dog there. It growls and barks at all of the customers and ruined two lunches and one night out. It's such a shame because I used to go there a lot. The food, drinks and staff are lovely but one of them will insist on bringing that dog in and I'm afraid my friends and I won't be back because of it. I am a dog lover and have had my dale share of dogs with anxiety. They simply aren't suitable to take to such a busy place.

Quite possibly the worst place I’ve ever eaten. Ordered a cheese and chorizo flat bread priced at £7.50 and was served a pathetic looking excuse of a sandwich, it was a shop bought tesco type flat bread folded in half with not a great deal of filling. I brought this to the waitresses attention, I was told, that the council don’t give us any concessions on our rent! Also ordered was some butternut squash soup, which tasted like flavoured, greasy water. Would have sent it all back, had I not already paid. I would avoid at all costs.

I asked the young lady (brown hair and glasses) if she could explain what a mocktail is, as I am autistic and had never had one before. She kindly explained the process and said if I didn't want soda she would find a non carbonated alternative. I had a non alcoholic strawberry daiquiri, as well as a white hot chocolate. I also had the cheesy chips... A safe option for me. The drinks and food were lovely. All staff were kind, and allowed my friend and I to purchase from the chocolate stall. I would be delighted to return in the future.

We visited the Coco Latino in Ramsgate in the company of some friends on a sunny Sunday morning in May. We were intending to walk first around the area of the harbour before travelling on to Pegwell bay for a further walk. We had driven to Ramsgate and there is a good amount of (pay & display) car parking available on the harbour front. The Coco Latino is situated under one of the red brick arches by the harbour and thus the visitor gets a very good view of the moored yachts and other sea craft in the marina when sitting outside. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, the bar was only doing outside seating and there were already some customers sitting at tables outside enjoying the morning sunshine. We ordered our drinks just inside the door to the bar and there was a good choice of drinks available and a selection of what appeared to be homemade cakes, we settled for a Latte coffee. Would certainly consider coming here again if we were in the area.Customer toilets are available inside the bar if required.

Good disabled access and disabled loo available. A very pleasant setting overlooking the harbour. The chocolate and waffles look impressive. The only reason we did not eat was the Asda pork pie I spotted when the waitress was prepping a ploughmans. Not to mention the massive bookers pre bought tuna mayo. The pork pies are £3 for 20 and the ploughmans is probably a tenner. No real need for these shortcuts and unsure of what exactly is on my plate.

You know what they say about location ! Well that's what Coco Latino has, food choice is simple and I personally think expensive for what you get but I'd recommend for a coffee and a sit down to watch the world go by

I find it strange that people say it is unfriendly the staff were all marvellous and although I must say I'm not a fan of dogs in food establishments there were a couple of dogs being looked after by the staff despite people complaining otherwise.

Beautiful bar with friendly staff. Don't understand why people saying rude staff and not dog friendly as I took my dog in and the staff even brought the dog bowl in for her! Seems like some competition making comments perhaps?? We loved our visit and have been back twice since the first visit. Highly recommended and nice to know there is a clean and classy bar with excellent food to the Ramsgate Arches. Big thumbs up!

I visited with a group of friends and expected a heaving bar and too many bodies in one room. But what I experienced was completely different. It was quiet (even on a Saturday night!), but not eerily so. There's lots of seating to choose from and many, many drinks avaliable, including a special 2 for £10 special on particular cocktails. The decor was hard to see in the darkness but I could tell there were lots of interesting pieces that I'd love to see in the day.

Popped in for a snack and a coffee with my wife and, as it was such a nice day, we decided to sit outside. The tables were so congested that we could have joined in the conversations on the other tables. Waiting staff are great. We ordered a ploughman's platter which cost approx £8.50. To say I was underwhelmed is an understatement. 3 slices of cheddar, half an apple, half a tomato, one onion, 3 slices of cucumber, ham and some bread ........ for just under 9 quid!!! The photo says it all. Total lack of imagination and presentation. My wife had to use the toilets but they were unusable and were reported to the staff. It always amazes me that establishments can churn out food of this standard, and then complain that business is bad.

I came here for a nice hot chocolate but it was the most uncomfortable drink ive had! the manageress is the rudest stuck up person i have ever came across no wonder it was so dead! And most importantly do not enter this establishment with children she clearly doesnt realise a 2 year old may not sit there and make no noise! there should be over 18s only on her door! and candles everywhere in the middle of the day defiantly not family friendly! she made us feel so unwelcome after taking our money we walked out!

Welcoming staff and owner, lovely cocktails, view of harbour outside, tv and music inside and comfortable seats. The last time we went was with my mum and daughter and there is reLly something for everyone. I enjoyed my pina coladas, my daughter had a spritzer and mum had hot chocolate. There is also bar food. We always go around tea time but I might try it one evening when I get the chance.

It was hot, it was busy and Coco Latino had a few tables available outside, service was quick, staff were friendly, menu is short and basic, I chose the burrito with chicken although finding the chicken wasn't easy as 99% of the filling was rice, the little roast potatoes that came with it though we're very nice a bowl of those would have been lovely. My partner had the Latino platter, Spanish cheese, salami, sun dried tomatoes, olives and a roll not really worth £11, I'd go back for a drink and watch the world go by but would eat elsewhere
