Thankyou for our Facebook competition win!! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Food was very fast and hot. Impeccable service from all staff. Special thanks to Kayleigh and Chloe

Be warned Not a carvery in Ramsgate/ Broadstairs Frozen veg including the Roasties Processed Turkey. Cauliflower cheese was cauliflower with a spinkle of cheese no sauce, then when asked for sauce they replace with a squirt of chilli burger/ nacho cheese. Unbelievable! I have been to other Greene Kings Carveries and for the same price and they have been phenomenal. Carved meat, fresh veggies. This Roast here was probably the worst Roast dinner we have ever had. I’m sure other food would be fine. Just be aware!

We had 2 mains, chips cold on 1 and the quadzilla burger the chicken was good but the beef burgers we something like you would get at a burger stall at a boot fair , definitely not good

Came in with my friend for a buy one get one free burger n Friday great vegan options and was delicious we were served by Hayley who was very friendly and helpful ,so polite and made sure we were well looked after

Went on date nite, when we arrived the lady a front desk was outside having a chat with her friend, but after a couple of minutes waiting she came back in and took us to a table. Table was still wet from where had been wiped down but still the top was sticky in places, the meal itself was ok, then we went for the candymania to share for dessert, as we eating I bit into some what thought was hard chocolate but it turned to be a bit of very sharp plastic, I took it to the bar and promptly told a member if staff where I had found it, obviously she was shocked but not as if she said or did anything about it, so we carried on and not 2 minutes later I bit into another piece of very sharp plastic, this time a spoke to the manager who was very apologetic, and offered nothing more than another dessert, I declined as I didn't want eat any more plastic, I told that if a toddler had eaten that they would be up S creak, she agreed and said she would throw away the tub of ice cream. All in all very very disappointed with meal and can safely say I will not be returning there and I will telling my family and friends the same. Hopefully this WILL be addressed but I'm not pinning any hopes on it Please see picture of second and smaller piece of plastic found.

Had a lovely meal. The service was great and the staff were not only friendly but looked like they were enjoying their roles.

Went for breakfast this morning and it was the worst breakfast we've had in a long time. The mushrooms were tasteless and cold, the sausages had obviously been held in a hotplate/ banmarie for too long as they were rubbery, the toast was cold as were the beans and the bacon disintegrated as soon as you touch it as it was overcooked. We've had plenty of lunches at the hooden horse and usually it's fine but we definitely won't be returning for breakfast. Also having a broken coffee machine on a Monday morning is never good. On a plus, thanks for the water they gave our dog.

Had a lovely meal but the best part of the evening was the delightful atmosphere created by Chloe L. She interacted well with my family in a kind and friendly manner. Will definitely come back Chloe!

Right don’t know where to start really but here we go. Firstly would like to say waitresses and ladies taking orderes where very nice and helpful….. now to the unbelievable part We was served our meals and looking forward to a family meal my wife and mother in law both had half a chicken which they both stayed to eat when they cut into it it was bloody and raw I was personally disgusted and upon inspection from bar staff they where also not happy and very apologetic I was told a manager was going to see me. I was obviously very upset the manager did come and see me after she had spoken to the chef. This is where it get interesting she said that the chicken was only reheated by the chef as it comes already cooked and that she had probed it and it was safe to eat I strongly disagreed as there was visible blood I asked for our full meal to be refunded which she did to be fair I asked for the chicken to be brought out so I could take a picture to be told the chicken had been disposed of. She then approached our table 20 minutes later apologetic and asked for my phone number for a manager to contact me which I did I then asked again about her probing the chicken to which she replied she didn’t even tho she said she did 20 minutes earlier 🙄 I asked her if she would have eaten it her reply was I don’t really eat chicken but I persisted and asked again to which she replied no I wouldn’t of and we are really sorry The chefs in my opinion are putting there guest in danger of potentially becoming ill from there food. Wouldn’t eat there ever again

We loved our time having a meal in this restaurant. Very reasonable priced and a good set up to help make every family member happy. Play area for the children and nice areas for families or couples to enjoy.

Lovely evening. Been again, several times and must say that the beers and wine also the food and the service are all EPIC !!

Popped in for the first time with the kids for a quick bit of lunch yesterday, service was 10/10, despite being busy wasn’t waiting long for food at all, food that was served was delicious, bar staff were super friendly as was the young lady i believe was called Shannon who was non stop, will definitely be going back again

Good food. Good choice. Reasonable price..

Ordered the 'Crown of Burgers' (plate of burger sliders) and girlfriend ordered chilli burger. The patties themselves were very low quality, feeling pre-cooked like rustlers. Presentation was awful, with the burger buns being still stuck together out of the packet and the burgers not put together. Chips were undercooked. Service was quick and polite, atmosphere is as expected. Price is mediocre but too high for what felt like cafeteria food.

Overall, the food was lovely. Very warm within the restaurant itself on the day we visited, despite the windows etc being open, there was a lack of fresh air blowing through or no air conditioning on if they have any.

Never got as far as to eat anything cause arrived to see a sign on the door saying that due to technical reasons pre booked available only and loads of people walking away that like myself had made a wasted trip. If I ran this restaurant I would be offering all the people who had made a wasted trip something like a voucher for their trouble as they are not likely to return again. My response: So what has happened? What is the technical problem that is stopping you from serving walk ins?

We attended tonight where my Nan had the roast beef. The food then arrived and the roast was absolutely appalling. Mostly inedible with it being either too hard or too cold. We handed the food back and wanted a hot one in which they brought the next plate out and it had seemed like they’d just heated it up and put it on a different plate. Had to ask for a refund in the end she was that unhappy with her food.

The only reason this is a 3 star is because there is no option to have alternative milk .. I am allergic to cows milk. I asked and she said no with no explanation. I asked is this usually that you don’t have an alternative and she said ‘ it’s hard to get oat milk as a business ‘ I was shocked to be be fair as it’s not a preference .. it’s a need and as a business they should be able to provide this and I’m very confused to why they don’t .. The food was delicious but was so let down by the non milk alternative …

Oh my god what has happened to wooden horse, the food is so much better now and the presentation is also so much better, we stopped going because we had such bad experiences there, but not any more, it was great and we shall start going again, I had the chicken from the mix it up menu and my husband had the steak, it was cooked to perfection.

We regularly come in here like 3 times a week, being turnt away because apparently being fully booked, it was very hard to believe when it wasn't even busy, loads of free tables. Well won't be coming here again now!

Came in for food with my family, we all had a great experience. Paige at the bar was very attentive.

I went to this establishment a fee days ago and well the young lady that served us was superb so kind and patient and so helpful so thank you so much paige for your outstanding customer skills!!!! Food was also very good. Once again thank you paige without you it wouldn’t of been the same experience. !!!

Really busy when we went in, and we were told it was an hour's wait for food. But food came in about 20 mins. Friendly service, good bar.

Can't really fault it here. Nice food, not amazingly into the hungry horse style pub but it surpassed my expectations. Someone else I noticed had an issue and the staff seemed to deal with it very well

Missing food on orders, veggie sticks looked like they had all their life sucked out of them, under staffed, just wasn’t a pleasant experience. Won’t be going back

I love the hooden horse so much! My server was so polite and kind when it came to asking for anything! I highly suggest when coming to the hooden horse asking for Jamie as your server! He is genuinely so sweet, kind hearted and smiley! 😁 Which other restaurants lack sometimes in their waiters/waitresses! He honestly made me smile so much and he made the experience so amazing and stress free when ordering food! Incredible! Always will ask for him as my server!!! 🤩

I had a lovely evening at the Hooden Horse with my friends.i was served by Chloe G with excellent service, I will definitely be coming back. Also I will highly recommend it to my family and friends

Went with Mum, Son, daughter in law, daughter, granddaughter and grandson. All going well, then after an hour my daughter (27) got asked for id, she’d already been served 2 drinks prior so when I ordered food I ordered drinks as well, when the food arrived we got no drinks, the YOUNG PERSON that served me didn’t actually tell me that they hadn’t added the drinks to the bill, so I had to wait at the bar to order drinks whilst my meal was going cold. Then I ordered 5 desserts, 4 came out and yet again I had to ask at the bar about the 5th, we eventually got it about 20 minutes later but everyone else in our party had finished theirs. Very stressful 😥

Went in for the first time for food and decided to try the breakfast menu. Lovely warm welcome as we arrived. Plenty of tables available. Lots of breakfast options to choose from. Made our choices, offered extras which we took, two drinks and sat. Promptly served our hot drinks and waited for our breakfast. Didn't wait too long, the food was well cooked, delicious and plentiful. The service continued to be exceptional. Agree with some other reviewers, there is some need for some redecoration and some replacement furniture maybe in places. But doesn't spoil what is a lovely pub offering great food at reasonable prices. So if you want an alternative to the sometimes busy Toby, drive 2 minutes further down the road and treat yourself to a Hooden Horse meal. We'll be back soon.

Just tried to get in for a meal 3 adults and a child! Place had plenty of empty tables but we was turned away! Being told they not accepting walk ins! Well done you just cost yourself bout £100 and won’t be entering any of your chain again!

Amazing experience at the Hooden Horse today, went and had a meal with family and got served food by Mia. Lovely girl very friendly and very talkative with my children, food was amazing and delicious. Will definitely be coming again!!

I took a large group (56) of y6s for lunch. The staff were amazing. Holly helped arrange our trip and was amazing with arranging our visit time and providing menu options for the children to choose from in advance. When we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. They had sectioned off a large area of the restaurant for us so that we could be seated together. We were served by Rosie, Hayley and Jess G. All three of them were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed. The food (cooked by Chantelle and Ryan) arrived quickly and was delicious. The children (and staff) had a lovely time memory making with their friends. Thank you Hooden Horse!

First time visitors to this chain. Was greatly surprised by the menu choices. Food arrived hot and nicely plated. Good size portions and not expensive

To be fair in the past I did not rate this place at all but I tried it after I was told it had changed. And to my delight found it to be a pleasant experience after all.

Came for the bingo night. Had smoking jack burger was fantastic cooked by Harry. Food was served by jess r very polite young lady. Bingo was hosted by Holly and Ryan was a magnificent night, organised and well executed by Holly. Well done will definitely be back again and will highly recommend for a great family fun night for a fantastic charity

Food was ok - but there was a lack of clarity among the staff about the validity of the ‘kids eat for £1’ deal (that you actually can’t have in combination with any other deal) - meaning we ended up spending more than we wanted - and had to re-order elements. Long wait at the bar to order, and kids puddings came out at different times. All in all, not great. Maybe they were having a bad day? An edit to the review in light of the initial response - which I found to be a little disingenuous. It does not explain why one member of staff told us one thing about the kids eat for £1 deal and another told us something else - neither of which were accurate. It does not explain why our kids meal deal pudding order was not taken when we ordered the mains (we are not regulars; or why when we brought this up it was implied this was our fault?) Or why there was then an additional cost? Or why the puddings - when they did come - came out separately despite being the same thing? There were actually one or two other things as well. The long wait could have been explained on the phone call when we booked (and were directed to the website) or whilst we were in situ. None of these happened.

Went for sunday lunch... (2 adults) was shown to table by highly camp staff member (possibly manager?) who couldn't be bothered to take us all the way (just pointed and told us number) sat opposite large family with constantly crying toddler (not pub's fault) small worn table that had been pushed into the wall and made a hole. Mismatched chairs around every table.Ordered at bar..Lunch arrived , (Beef) meat was so tough had to ask for a steak knife to cut it (two slices, first inedible) , stuffing obviously been microwaved and was as hard as a rock and just crumbled . Yorkie was cold, veg luke warm, a very small portion of mash (no roast potato) Used plates and glasses weren't collected until pudding was delivered. Member of staff 'armed' with a spray bottle constantly passed aimlessly without collecting our plates. Bar was woefully understaffed for time of day but the two barmaids were friendly. Certainly wouldn't be back.. Had booked online but that was pointless as families with no bookings were queing and all seated. Dreadful pub

Food was really good, everyone enjoyed it. Ryan behind the bar bless him, gold star service off him despite it being very busy and every staff member was rushed off their feet. Definitely under appreciated and over worked! Working in restaurants is not easy, kudos to you all! ❤️

My husband I were given a voucher so we went for a quiet lunch. Hayley and Rosie were very welcoming and helpful. The food was lovely and would recommend to friends.

A spacious jewel on the cusp of the retail park boasting ample parking, superb beverage choice, bountiful sauces and above all, service with a smile. Would recommend.

Wonderful meal, perfect end to a perfect Mothers Day. Ryan was just wonderful, he was great with my granddaughter and he made the evening completely enjoyable. Keeley also was lovely and helpful.

Amazing service and food booked a table online and sat us very quickly went up to the bar and ordered the general manager took our orders and let us know there was a small wait, food came out all in good time, great portion sizing and service from Ryan and food cooked by Harry even went for dessert which was great! Will definitely be back soon :)

Quite a large group of us booked for breakfast with the Easter bunny. I didn't think it would be completely spot on being a large group but the food came out quickly and with all the extras or items that we had swapped for our little fussy ones. The breakfasts were lovely. The Easter bunny was really personable and funny and the children all had a really lovely time (and us adults too!). Thank you to Hayley who served us and Ryan and Mel the chefs. Also EB whoever you were! You were all amazing!

I had a lovely experience when visiting, my order was taken almost straight away by a lovely lady called Holly, she was very friendly and accommodating throughout. My food came out popping hot with both holly and Rosie offering if there was anything else I required, throughout my meal both ladies asked both me and my daughter how the food was which was kind. I am happy with the food however more impressed by the dedicated friendly staff. I will be returning definitely.

Service is great and the place is lovely, portion sizes have shrunk some what however, used to fill a plate with the chicken new Yorker now the same meal is a slim version of itself which is a shame.

By Dr Lyndon Brand. Broadstairs Kent. I'm so pleased to have stumbled upon this place, all the staff were fantastic Inc Emma, Ellie, Paige, and especially Chloe L. Not forgetting Tim and Mel in the kitchen. They were so kind to our service dogs as well with a nice bowl of water etc. We are deffo coming back for sure. Oh and the potatoes and the beans were out of this world.

An amazing start to the easter bank holiday. Our 2 for 1 english breakfast was fantastic. Especially the bacon and sausage, which were cooked to perfection by Chef Ryan. Rosie and Hayley provided excellent service, they made our breakfast truly homely.

Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced and Hayley really looked after us really well, very friendly and bubbly would recommend for a good breakfast

I cannot thank the staff enough at the Hodden Horse in Westwood Cross they catered for our group of 15 plus for breakfast, very good food and excellent service from the staff in particular Hollie Rosie and Mell thank you!

Was served by Stacey who was absolutely fantastic. She was a new member of staff but had such great customer service skills and was able to have a laugh and match our energy. All round fantastic.
