The food was lovely but I would mostly like to shout out to the staff working on 21/02/25 and hope their manager notes their attention, quiet compassion, happy helpfulness and everyone I spoke with was a credit to your restaurant!

Food was amazing, service was brilliant and the atmosphere was amazing

i used to love coming here but its definitely gone downhill, the food isn't great and the cutlery is disgusting, you have to get ur own cutlery now which is completely fine other than the fact me and someone else spent roughly 5 minutes looking through the forks trying to find one that didn't have dried up food on it, was really put off by it so when i did finally find a fork that was clean i was too put off to eat my food so ended up leaving. i don't usually complain nor write reviews but honestly i'm gobsmacked. (i have previously worked as a waitress and can understand it isn't easy getting the forks sparkly clean but i would at least make sure there was no left over food still on it when polishing them..)

Great food and super atmosphere

Had a lovely lunch today with husband and grand-daughter. As always food was lovely, service was good, all reasonably priced and staff attentive, great atmosphere as well.

Always go to Hooden horse . Nice friendly atmosphere, fantastic staff and good food at a good price . Deals each day are well worth it . Keep up the good work guys and gals , look forward to returning very soon.

I've gave 1 star because I couldn't give half, dirty tables, dirty plates, cold food, miserable staff. About to go over the road to Toby's.

For the price, 10 pounds for a proper Sunday Lunch snd glass of red. Portions were good. Food was hot. Of course it isn't fine dining but all things considered, this was a lovely meal in surroundings that were not too bad. Car parking outside was available and staff service was quick and polite. I cannot really fault anything hence full marks

Had a lovely lunch here with my son before going to the cinema. Food was really nicely cooked and tasty. We shared the starter platter 😋 drinks and all were reasonably priced. Friendly staff that seated us. Will return again soon.

It’s a decent place to go for dinner, lots of kids running around so if you’d like somewhere quiet I wouldn’t go here.

We were welcomed to the hooded horse and shown to our table that we had booked for the festive meal. We were then asked if we wanted any drinks and this would be added to our bill. This was lovely as we could relax during our time having our meal. We didn't have to wait long for our first course as this was pre ordered. Once we started our meal, we were asked if everything was to our liking, which we replied it was. Staff were friendly and nothing was any trouble to them..

The staff were fantastic. There were 17 of us and they managed to bring out the food roughly at the same time. Nothing was too much trouble. They provided books and colouring packs for the children.

Disappointed. Went here as the Wheatsheaf kitchen was shut. Disappointed!

Had one of their bogof burger deals and it was a lot of food! The burgers themselves were OK, not great but everything else was pleasant.

Me and my friends ate here as a group of 9 and the food was great there was no complaints from any one in our group. We had Ryan look after our table while we was there and he was absolutely amazing!! he was super friendly and made our groups evening so much easier - we really appreciate how good the service was.

My parents and I really enjoyed our lunch here today. It was clean, the portions were good and the food well cooked. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was brilliant value for three meals and drinks. We’ll definitely come again.

Come in for a meal as last minute decision, didn’t have to wait for a table, service was very good and speedy. Daniella was lovely and friendly which is always nice and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was of good standard and hot.

Visited last weekend with my husband for a meal and couldn’t recommend enough! We were seated immediately and had piping hot delicious food! Excellent service from Daniella who was very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be back!

I came in last week for a breakfast with my sister, I was abit skeptical after reading previous reviews, but to my surprise it was brilliant! It was really good value for money with the food being nice and hot! The lady that served us Daniella was so accommodating and friendly and gave good energy to this establishment! We will be returning in the future! Thank you!

I came the other day with my husband and family for my sons birthday and was served by Daniella. We were a large party and Daniella was very accommodating and patient with us and was attentive as we had dietary requirements. She gave us great guidance on the allergen tablet and we felt very reassured. Would highly recommend - thank you Hooden Horse for making this occasion special for us!

Had a fantastic meal yesterday with the family! The food and hospitality was great overall and a very friendly atmosphere but I’d like to thank a Lady named Danni for make it, an experience we wouldn’t forget. Best service we’ve had in a long time!

Visited for lunch a few days ago and was met at the till by the lovely Daniella. Due to dietary requirements I was unsure what to have from the menu, Daniella was very patient and able to give some recommendations that were suitable for me and the recommendation she gave was perfect!

Fantastic family. Restaurant came here the other day with the Mrs and my youngest daughter got served by the lovely Daniella. Really exceptional service. The restaurant was busy (but not too busy) and it didn't appear to affect the waiting times for our meals. I ordered myself a quadzilla burger which was also outstanding. Great size portions, huge in fact, and a very fair price. Really happy, so happy in fact I've just booked our pre-Christmas dinner here. Bar area for adults, outdoor play area for kids and a nice large and comfortable restaurant eating area. Definitely recommended.

Lovely family restaurant and one of my local favourites. Good value, personal favourite is the new yorker. Staff can’t do enough to help you, especially the bar lady Danni, she is manager material. Looking forward to my next visit already 😁

Food was lovely and hot, quick service but there was a hair in my beef I think it was more like a hoof. I made a complaint and Daniella made every effort to sort this for me, a new meal was brought out with no issues 😁 thank God for new management hodden horse as God up in the world, would definitely return.

My waitress Danni was very lovely and polite and was very helpful and reassuring when my son was playing up , the food was delicious

Came here for a meal with my partner and daughter, couldn’t say a bad word, food was amazing, staff was very polite and was all up to standards! Wow! Danni was an absolute star! She went above and beyond in making sure the best customer service was available! She is so polite towards customers and never fails to impress the customers with her work ethic. 🙂 She was fantastic in providing the right guidance in finding appropriate food for my Gluten and Dairy intolerance 🙂

I came in Friday for burgers, amazing food, nice and hot. Danni behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Will be coming again for the excellent service and burgers! X

Building was very cold, apparently the heating doesn't work, Following your reply enquiring if I was sure about where I was, yes I am, I'm not stupid, I'm local to the Hooden Horse and can confirm that the heating wasn't on. When I asked one of your team I he said he thought you didnt have heating, the radiators near table 37 were cold.

Decor scruffy and unloved, manager surly and staff unfriendly. Couldn't wait to finish the cold food and luke warm coffee and get out. Never thought I'd say this but Wetherspoons is better.

Long wait for food..most was cold..was offered free pudding but didn't have time.no change..wont be going back.

Great staff. Had the all Day Breakfast and I forgot too ask for well done eggs well the eggs were spot on as I do not like any under done egg whites. These were perfect and I eat as much as I could because was a large breakfast and loved every mouthful. Friendly staff. Wanted a Vodka Martini but the Barman said we don't do it and could do it but would cost a fortune so I went for a pornstar cocktail and was lovely. Will be back next time we stay over Food today a Chicken tikka masala. Glad whi was with had chips as sadly the portion size seems to have got smaller, but a great time had with our friend who is a Cancer patient this year. We all had a wonderful time.

Oh my god what has happened to wooden horse, the food is so much better now and the presentation is also so much better, we stopped going because we had such bad experiences there, but not any more, it was great and we shall start going again, I had the chicken from the mix it up menu and my husband had the steak, it was cooked to perfection.

I came in with family and I am amazed, I was greeted by Ryan who was so accommodating and kind, Shannon then delivered our food and was very polite and answered every question we could have.

Lovely place to share a meal, staff are wonderful and friendly and always up for conversion and some banter... couldn't fault our waitress Shannon she was extremely helpful definitely will be visiting again.

Went in for lunch with my family. Price was fair and the service was very good. The food however was disappointing. Luke warm food, over cooked steak and bland.

Came last week and was welcomed in by Ryan and he was incredibly welcoming and full of energy. Checked in on us throughout to make sure everything was ok. Will come again

The Sunday Roast is basically a frozen £1.99 platter from poundland. Disgusting. Actually the poundland roast dinner tray is probably 10 times better than this trash from Hooden Horse hungry horse. Hospital and prison food is better than this pathetic crap. Avoid. Go across the road to the Toby. At leat it's edible over there..not like here. Even the dog turned his nose away from it. Everytbing frozen and processed. Total rank

Asked for coke no ice but was not filled at all bought some extra corn for our food but the corn was so small and cost 2 pound not worth the price for just one peice place is lovely and clean the staff are lovely other then the one person who served us food was pretty quick although not worth the price we payed for it

Well where do I start the service was bad the food I had roast beef the roast potatoes where over cook the gravy was so thick you you could stand a knife in it and also very little on plate ask for more and I think the veg was from frozen and the waiting time for your meal was over 30 minutes clearing the plates when the sweets was delivered I could gone on but that's enough from me I will.never return return to this restaurant again very poor all round there where 11 of us so it's your lost

Food is pretty okay for the price - puddings are pretty great to be fair too. Service is self led but comes in a decent time. Value for money. Family orientated.

I’ve just found out that next week will be the last quiz!! I’ve been coming to the quiz since 2017 and if this is the case, I won’t be coming here ever again!!

Unfortunately a low rating due to not only the decor of the pub (this location needs a serious refurb) but also the recent decision to end the pub quiz that has been running for at least 7 years. All of the bar / wait staff are lovely but it seems pub/chain management is working in a different direction now. It is such a shame that a busy pub like this lacks any investment from the chain nor any consideration to what makes people return week after week.

Be warned Not a carvery in Ramsgate/ Broadstairs Frozen veg including the Roasties Processed Turkey. Cauliflower cheese was cauliflower with a spinkle of cheese no sauce, then when asked for sauce they replace with a squirt of chilli burger/ nacho cheese. Unbelievable! I have been to other Greene Kings Carveries and for the same price and they have been phenomenal. Carved meat, fresh veggies. This Roast here was probably the worst Roast dinner we have ever had. I’m sure other food would be fine. Just be aware!

We had 2 mains, chips cold on 1 and the quadzilla burger the chicken was good but the beef burgers we something like you would get at a burger stall at a boot fair , definitely not good

Came in with my friend for a buy one get one free burger n Friday great vegan options and was delicious we were served by Hayley who was very friendly and helpful ,so polite and made sure we were well looked after

Went on date nite, when we arrived the lady a front desk was outside having a chat with her friend, but after a couple of minutes waiting she came back in and took us to a table. Table was still wet from where had been wiped down but still the top was sticky in places, the meal itself was ok, then we went for the candymania to share for dessert, as we eating I bit into some what thought was hard chocolate but it turned to be a bit of very sharp plastic, I took it to the bar and promptly told a member if staff where I had found it, obviously she was shocked but not as if she said or did anything about it, so we carried on and not 2 minutes later I bit into another piece of very sharp plastic, this time a spoke to the manager who was very apologetic, and offered nothing more than another dessert, I declined as I didn't want eat any more plastic, I told that if a toddler had eaten that they would be up S creak, she agreed and said she would throw away the tub of ice cream. All in all very very disappointed with meal and can safely say I will not be returning there and I will telling my family and friends the same. Hopefully this WILL be addressed but I'm not pinning any hopes on it Please see picture of second and smaller piece of plastic found.

Had a lovely meal. The service was great and the staff were not only friendly but looked like they were enjoying their roles.

Went for breakfast this morning and it was the worst breakfast we've had in a long time. The mushrooms were tasteless and cold, the sausages had obviously been held in a hotplate/ banmarie for too long as they were rubbery, the toast was cold as were the beans and the bacon disintegrated as soon as you touch it as it was overcooked. We've had plenty of lunches at the hooden horse and usually it's fine but we definitely won't be returning for breakfast. Also having a broken coffee machine on a Monday morning is never good. On a plus, thanks for the water they gave our dog.

Had a lovely meal but the best part of the evening was the delightful atmosphere created by Chloe L. She interacted well with my family in a kind and friendly manner. Will definitely come back Chloe!

Right don’t know where to start really but here we go. Firstly would like to say waitresses and ladies taking orderes where very nice and helpful….. now to the unbelievable part We was served our meals and looking forward to a family meal my wife and mother in law both had half a chicken which they both stayed to eat when they cut into it it was bloody and raw I was personally disgusted and upon inspection from bar staff they where also not happy and very apologetic I was told a manager was going to see me. I was obviously very upset the manager did come and see me after she had spoken to the chef. This is where it get interesting she said that the chicken was only reheated by the chef as it comes already cooked and that she had probed it and it was safe to eat I strongly disagreed as there was visible blood I asked for our full meal to be refunded which she did to be fair I asked for the chicken to be brought out so I could take a picture to be told the chicken had been disposed of. She then approached our table 20 minutes later apologetic and asked for my phone number for a manager to contact me which I did I then asked again about her probing the chicken to which she replied she didn’t even tho she said she did 20 minutes earlier 🙄 I asked her if she would have eaten it her reply was I don’t really eat chicken but I persisted and asked again to which she replied no I wouldn’t of and we are really sorry The chefs in my opinion are putting there guest in danger of potentially becoming ill from there food. Wouldn’t eat there ever again
