Caffe Nero - Westwood Cross in Thanet

Very friendly staff and great service can't fault it

Coffee is good and is inside a Waterston and that gives a very relaxing environment

Located in Waterstones this Cafe Nero has a calm relaxing atmosphere and the potential to be a great cafe. When I visited the coffee was not made to the usual Cafe Nero standards I have experienced in other branches. The coffee was very bitter with little body to the flavour and the milk had beef over steamed. Also the pastries were burned too.

Sunday morning 12.30 staff rude and abrupt refusing to allow my 6 year old granddaughter to use the toilet. I explained she was unwell but they had absolutely no reaction to this. I spoke to a staff member in the book shop who was no better . Needless to say they have lost my custom. Plus my extra hot latte was cold .

Situated without n Waterstones bookshop so pleasant environment, if a little cramped. Good description of types of coffee available. Prices just reasonable but cakes far too expensive for size. Only two staff so service slow and tables not cleared. No better or worse than most UK Coffee shops unfortunately. This might be an " Italian coffee experience" but it cannot be compared to Italy where quality, price and service is much higher at half the price.

Always enjoy a nice salted caramel latte at Neros, always hits the spot on a cold winter day after being dragged round the shop by the misses lol

Ridiculous having no toilet in a coffee shop and the nearest one is too far, given cake n no cutlery never again!

A wonderful way to spend your time drinking coffee in a bookshop.

Staff are lovely and helpful, and drinks are always made to a high standard, making this a regular space to meet family and friends for a drink!

Cute little space on top of Waterstones. Luxury mocha was delicious, lighting isn’t too great up there so it was a bit difficult to read and wooden chairs uncomfortable but they have low sofas which are nice

Visited Canterbury (clock tower) twice this week, both occasions very little sweet selection available, and very dirty floors inside and entrance, and toilets filthy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Visit westwood cross thanet regularly and always immaculate, disappointed to see such a decline at Canterbury.

Nice and clean, plus very great staff

Early morning it is a quiet place . Croissant 🥐 was very fresh and coffee was very tasty. But some tables weren’t clean enough.

This venue lacks any atmosphere However the books more than make for this failure.

Considering there were 2 staff and no customers the tables were dirty smeary sticky, and uncommunicative, won't bother again, there's plenty more choices here

It's a coffee shop with ubiquitous muffins from a central muffin making facility.

It's a small concession above waterstones, busy and congested when I went but it was post Christmas sales mayhem. Coffee was good though.

This is a nice Cafe Nero situated inside Waterstones. It's smaller than a usual Cafe Nero but has adequate seating space. It's on the first floor of the store and is an ideal place if you want to read a book and have a coffee. There is a good choice of food and sweet items. The service is good with friendly staff. Recommend if you're in Westwood Cross and want a coffee.

Poor bloke was by himself. He rushed around as fast as he could. Great service.

Huge queue. Completely filthy inside. Tables stacked with dirty cups etc. Crumbs all over the floor..not enough staff to serve everyone and also keep on top of cleaning. When food and drinks are being served hygiene should be a no 1 priority

Lovely coffee but very expensive. At £6.90 for 2 small cups we won't be using it again . Was dissapointed that they no longer have a toilet .

We visited this cafe today (27 Dec). It was very busy and was shocked that there was a young man working behind the counter. He had to serve drinks and food, collect used cups and plates and wash them. He had no support. He carried out his work diligently in a calm manner. It took some time to get served and a lot of people left because of the queue. He is a credit to the business which I cannot say about the Management who allowed this to happen. Well done that man and the Excellent rating goes that man, not the cafe.

Went in for a coffee and snack, unfortunately , only person serving was on their break and was told by the cleaner that we would have to wait at least 30 minutes before they were back

Lovely coffee and best carrot cake ever

My mum , sister and I, visit every week, always enjoy it. Until today 🙄 I asked for a toasted tea cake, then I was asked if I wanted 1or 2 pat's of butter, because it comes with 1 , if you want another one , you have to pay for it 😡 now come on really!!! You mean to tell me they can't give you 2 butter's two put on your toasted tea cake that's cut into two. Absolutely terrible.

Not a great visit. Waited a while as girl behind the counter was busy chatting; so busy that she dropped one of the pieces of cake we'd ordered. Never mind eh! One of us went without as there wasn't anymore. No really we shared 👍

One of the nicest caffé nero series shops located within library good place for wormbooks people and who are looking for peaceful place and lovely staff.

The good things about this Nero's is the location (within Waterstones) and that the staff always seem to be maintain a cheery disposition. Tables are also regularly cleared. Same menu, drinks as others in chain. Recent new armchairs and sofa.

We were regular visitors to this branch, above Waterstones, until June. Always recognised and made to feel welcome. Amazing staff. 8 months later we pop in on a visit back to Kent and the staff remembered not only me & my dog Indi but my order and how I like it! Thank you Alex and your wonderful staff. My favourite place to hide away with a good book (from Waterstones which Nero is in) and a latte. Their food always tastes fresh which I don’t find with their competitors; staff are welcoming and friendly regardless of how busy they are and it’s just a nice space to be in. The only downside is that it’s so popular that sometimes you go in and there’s no where to sit, so I come away instead of waiting.

The staff are friendly enough but the Cafe Latte I ordered was the most bitter latte I've ever drunk, my girlfriends cappuccino was the same. Unfortunately I can't recommend this place to anyone.
