Staying nearby for few days. Could walk to the Garden Centre from my B+B. Visited several times, great coffee and cakes. Staff very efficient, friendly and helpful. tables and chairs for eating , but also cosy cosy areas with comfy soft chairs to relax and maybe read. Right up my street, loved it. 😊

Last time we visited, the cafe was really busy and we didn’t have a great experience. We thought we’d give it another go and this time we were the only customers so no excuses. Immediately it felt uninviting when reading signs on the booths saying only parties of 4 can sit there, no caveat about busy periods (which is completely understandable, if there’s nowhere else to sit) It just comes across as a bit rude. The food would’ve been ok if it was properly cooked but we had a lot of chewy uncooked rind on the bacon, partially cooked sloppy egg whites which is a big no no for me, fried tomato looked cooked on the outside but still crunchy inside, toast which must’ve been shown the toaster from the other side of the kitchen and tepid baked beans. I know we’re in an energy crisis but some things you can’t cut corners on. My wife had a breakfast bap, she opted for no egg because she doesn’t like them but no offer of swapping for another item, the remaining fillings didn’t even reach the edges of the bap, 1 rasher of bacon and 1 sausage cut in half for £7.50! My below average full English was a tenner! I really wanted to enjoy the breakfast but the quality really doesn’t warrant the inflated price.

Ordered a roasted vegetable ciabatta with no garlic mayonnaise but was served a mozzarella & pesto ciabatta instead. I returned to the counter and explained to the waitress who apologised and explained she'd bring the correct order out asap for which I thanked her. Five minutes later, I received my meal and gave thanks. However, when I opened the ciabatta, the garlic mayonnaise was still evident (they had attempted to scrape it off) along with the original pesto - neither were supposed to be ingredients on the roasted vegetables ciabatta. Didn't bother complaining again, just left my meal as the staff were obviously not prioritising customer satisfaction. Will not be returning.

New chef has really transformed and upped the game of the menu and set up of the cafe - watch this space for the development onwards and upwards 😍 Wonderful selection of desserts made in house which are huge! Staff are all lovely and the cafe is very cosy and dog friendly 🐶💕 Thank you very much 🙏🏼 safe to say will be returning plenty to try all the treats and options on menu 🤤 would highly recommend!!

Asked politely for table to be wiped at which waitress rolled her eyes but all the empty tables needed clearing. Food and coffee ‘ok’ but put off after watching waitress making a big fuss of someones dog and then going straight back to serve cakes without washing hands.

Awful breakfast. Will definitely not return and I had heard good reviews about the cafe. There was no sign to say find your own table and then order at the counter so I hovered for a while and then approached member of staff who was not pleasant at all. Found table and went up to order and no acknowledgement from the staff at all. I had to wait but not a courtesy acknowledgement nor a sorry to keep you waiting. Ordered full breakfast and coffee. Coffee came well before my breakfast and I like my drink with my meal but had to wait for my food. Food arrived with brown toast when I had asked for white, burnt sausage and my beans were one lump as no juice at all. Would definitely not recommend anyone eating here and I definitely won't be returning

Reasonably priced for a full English breakfast. Went for the coast breakfast which came with bacon, 2 hash browns, sausage, beans, fried egg, mushrooms, 2 pieces of thick toast and a pot of tea. Service was really friendly and didn't take long to arrive with food. The only thing I wasn't fussed on were the herby sausages. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and very clean. Will definitely be going there again.

Arrived at the cafe was relatively quiet, we were waiting over half an hour for breakfast, checked to see if they had our table number corerct or if they had forgotten to serve us, told us it won't be long before it will be served. Waitress then served a table away from us, who were a couple only after arriving and just sat down, we went up and checked again and the waitress realised she had served the wrong table. Waitress didn't care asked us to wait for ours, we asked for a refund as we weren't waiting around again, staff didn't say sorry or apologise for the mess up. Won't be going back there again very poor customer service.

Over priced for what it is. We'd spent the morning shopping and didn't fancy a cheap greasy cafe so called in here. Cakes looked nice to be fair. We were all hungry and had the dog so bonus they were dog friendly. £8.95 for a sandwich! £7.95 for a panini. I mean come on, two slices of bread, bit of cheese and ham not forgetting a small dollop of coleslaw and salad. Appreciate rent, rates, staff costs but was hugely overpriced for what it was.

I have to apologise to the blonde lady behind the counter in the cafe. It was My fault that at 11.45am on a Sunday morning that they’d run out of food and had no idea when they’d have anything to offer. I say it was ‘my fault’ as that’s how I was made to feel. No signs anywhere - and not a word of an apology. Thank-you for making me feel like a nuisance and an irrelevance. Never again.

So on a whim decided one morning to see what was here for food, and have to say wasn't disappointed with what was served. I had a cooked breakfast with the usual suspects, sausage, egg, hash brown, mushroom, bacon and beans with the nicest toast I've tasted with a breakfast no joke (and they gave you enough real butter to actually butter it). My wife had toasted tea cakes which looked awesome and apparently tasted it too. Now we also indulged in brownie cakes with mini eggs ontop and a slice of coconut and lime cake which was really good. It was served quickly and the drinks were great too hot chocolate and americano. The staff were friendly and the layout was nice and rustic, big wooden tables made for a great visit. We have found a new gem here and will definitely be back.

Drove over from West Wales to meet our son. Sat down and saw a number of people eating what looked like great food. After more than 10 mins I finally chased after a member of staff to ask for a menu to be told they had stopped serving food as the "oven was broke". Sadly, since covid things seem to have gone downhill a little. The hot chocolate used to be served in a lovely tall glass with loads of cream on top. Not so anymore. They seem to be short staffed so the menu is now limited to drinks, cakes and pasties. This also means a long wait sometimes to be served. The existing staff are doing their best and are very friendly. I think new management needs to take over.

Nice coffee shop at the back, through a lovely garden centre. Wide selection of cakes and drinks, cafe was quite busy. Cakes were very tasty and fresh, covered until selected. Alas, this is where the I must mention the staff, there was one member to whom our presence was an inconvenience. I was here with my three children from 10 months to 9 yrs, the kids (including the baby) were well behaved and quiet. Whilst I queued each I item I asked for was greeted with a huff! I put this down to it being busy so upped my game, trying to assist with extra politeness. The part that really infuriated me was that my 7 yo required a fork for her cake, I checked and could see none avaliable for us to use, so I asked her to go and ask at the counter, without prompt, she joined the back of the queue and waited her turn! Alas, when she got to the front of the 4 person line she asked for a fork and waited... And waited.... And waited.... Finally after several minutes of watching the staff ignore her and serve adult paying customers, I went to the counter and politely enquired if there was an issue, she said she had asked them but they had not heard her. I would fully expect better service from a public facing company especially when dealing with young and old. With me by her side she was quickly given a fork. One final grumble was that at 1530 on a Saturday afternoon, half the seating area was closed off with no explanation, thankfully we were able to get a table with 3 seats. Will try again with the venue in the future with the hope that it was circumstantial and improvements are forthcoming.

THere's been a cafe in this garden centre for years, so I suspect a change of name is responsible for the small number of reviews. It doesn't seem to have changed much, sometimes OK, sometimes a disappointment; called a few weeks ago and no gluten free cakes. Waitress sneezing behind counter- maybe couldn't help it but very off-puting.

My husband and I stopped here on our Sunday morning cycle ride.Firstly getting into the restaurant with our bikes was very difficult as you have to walk through garden centre to get to it. My husband lifted them over the wall and I walked around. We ordered two portions of scrambled eggs on toast, without butter. When they arrived we almost choked with the shock! Had we not waited so long I would have taken it back as the portion size was ridiculous. The eggs are served on the side and this is clearly a way of giving a smaller amount of egg.We eat here regularly and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re in a hurry, the service is painfully slow. If you want tea/coffee and cake then great!Could you please open a front gate for cyclists/walkers?Also you need to change your ordering system at the till. Why not invest in an electronic system where the orders go directly to the kitchen?

Coast cafe has great coffee, lovely cakes and very pleasant staff. Unfortunately the outside eating area leaves a lot to be desired. It is very scruffy, lots of litter on the floor and rickety tables which definitely need to be renewed. The garden pots are full of weeds and so is the paving, it certainly doesn’t resemble a cafe within a garden centre. Owning dogs we had to sit outside but I’m sure more people would take advantage of the outside area if it was looking more appealing.

Coast Coffee is inside Ewenny Garden Centre which in itself is a great quality garden centre (it's not too big but with good quality plants and friendly staff). But Coast Coffee is a gem within the garden centre.Serving cooked breakfasts, salads and sandwiches etc. As well as a plentiful array of cakes, apple pies and meringues. Order at the counter and your food is served to your table. Very helpful and friendly staff. It was busy when we arrived and we were told it might be 30 mi utes before our food would be done, but within minutes it had arrived. The dcor is in muted colours and tastefully done. Even though it was busy, the tables are well spaced so it didn't feel crowded. We've been before and we will certainly go again (for both the garden centre and Coast Coffee) - it's a great combination. All nicely done and freshly prepared.

This is part of the Ewenny Garden Centre, and was full of families shopping. There seemed to be plenty of space. My only complaint would be the queue that you have to stand in to wait to order, other than that everything was very good. The menu has the usual sandwiches, paninis, bagels, jacket potato. But also a choice of all day breakfasts and some daily specials. There is also a good value kids menu. The day I was there was a very nice soup of the day - cauliflower cheese soup, very large portion with a homemade warm granary roll that was more of a small loaf :-) But the best thing about this cafe has to be the range of home made cakes. They all looked so delcious it was hard to choose between the lemon meringue pie, pistachio and rose sponge, cheesecake etc. All looked amazing and the ones we had tasted wonderful too.

Very disappointed with the breakfast, the beans were awful, tasted more like beans in a tomato pasta sauce. The bacon was smoked which it didn’t state on the menu, the poached egg was hard, also it was all piled on top of each other on a small plate. The cafe only 1/3 full when we visited but our table was full of crumbs, no spoons given with the coffees, no sugar on the table, no condiments or sauce offered with the breakfast. All in all it was distinctly lacking in all areas.

You would think the minimum requirement for running a cafe was the ability to speak to people politely. The couple were extremely rude. They completely ignored us waiting at their serving window. The woman spent 5 mins studiously stirring what looked like 2 cups of instant coffee. It's a shame as their attitude put a real downer on a beautiful place. This is repeated again and again in these reviews, and it's true. These people obviously need to retire, get a job they like, or get some serious customer service training. I would avoid if you want to enjoy your walk. Park somewhere else, walk there, and take a flask. For info..car park is £5.
