Hired the barn for a baby shower , setting was amazing , afternoon tea was well displayed and tasted lovely . Worth a visit

Not much of a catch £8.50 for a very small fish and chips the fish was nearly cremated the chips weren’t very nice. Didn’t see it as it was cooked because we were given some kind of gadget to go sit in the car with and it would beep when are food was ready very expensive for what we got

Can’t help but wonder what’s changed in Cobbles over the past few years. Was our treat of choice and would always recommend to family and friends visiting however on last 3 visits come across a number of issues. Opening times on social media/websites do not match up to venue so have arrived and been closed or closing early. It’s not clear on website that it’s only take away/small sit in area and that the ‘old cobbles’ is currently closed. The 20% service charge. For me personally I want to tip staff in cash and do not like paying the business that charge as can never be sure that it goes to staff (this is just my opinion across the board not directly just at cobbles). The staff are disengaged at best and rude at worst. The longest wait for a take away hot sandwich was one hour, twelve mins and the shortest 27 mins for cold sandwich which seems excessive. They were busy on the day it took over an hour and I was told there ‘would be a bit of a wait’. It’s so sad as such a beautiful place, food was and still has been great, little pricey but never minded paying that as service and ambiance was so calming and cosy. That just seems to have gone. Please bring cobbles back

As a grown up family of four we decided to order and pay separately. We all commented on the poor service, no welcome or greeting even, with the service straight out of Fawlty Towers, minus the humour! My order of a £6.25 sandwich with a very small flat white coffee cost just under £14! On querying this I was informed that it was due to 20% service charge. I gently reminded the member of staff that the total was inaccurate - she ignored me! This has been my worst customer service encounter ever!! Dreadful attitude with a ‘rip-off’ mentality. To add further insult we were informed that a buzzer would indicate that our order was available for collection - not delivered to us as a service would suggest. There is a serious attitude issue here and I am sure that others have suffered the same fate as ourselves- clearly we will not darken their doors again; safe in the knowledge that ‘karma’ will soon show its face.

I have been going to cobbles since we moved here over 5 years ago and I will never go back; I also will be telling others not to go back! I ordered a sandwich and a coffee, sandwich was £7.95 and coffee £3.50, the total came to £17. When queried on the maths the girl behind the counter told me is was a 20% service charge to eat in. I had read this already and was fine with it but even with 20% that does not total £17! Girl was having none of it! So for 20% service charge this is what I got: 1. Not even a welcome when I walked in, just stared at until I said something, I tried to have a chat with the girl and was ignored (I was the only one in there) 2. I was given a buzzer to collect my sandwich when it was ready. Buzzer went off and I went in to collect my sandwich. Again I was ignored until I said something. My sandwich was just sitting on the side getting cold 3. My “pepper” steak sandwich didn’t have an ounce of seasoning on it and they forgot the chilli jam. Margarine was used, not even butter. Customer service was again very unhelpful. 4. Considering I went in to order my sandwich, waited for a buzzer, went back in to collect my sandwich and then had to put my own rubbish in the bin I fail to see where my 20% service charge went?! I also sat outside. I suggest if your overheads are too high you switch your outdoor lighting off during the day!

Don’t waste your time or money! Disgusting. Expensive low quality food, ridiculously slow service (a 30 minute wait for fish goujons and chips). Rude staff no apology for the wait. Served the food in paper whereas everyone else before me and after me had theirs in boxes. Nightmare to eat with gravy. Food was bland and overpriced. Chips frozen and dry and the gravy tasteless. The goujons were mainly batter and no fish. Won’t be back, first and last. Don’t waste your time with this place!

Cobbles came highly recommended by a friend. The kitchen was closed on the day we came so we opted for a hot sandwich. Portion size was plentiful and the flavours were good however they were a little heavy handed with the caramelised onion and it overpowered the sandwich. Nice little dining area, but it was full so we had to eat in the car. Nice little place but didn't live up to the expectation.

Seriously , what has happened to this place ? Been on two occasions in the last month and sad to say the chips have been inedible!! Dry and hard with no taste . The prices are high so you’d expect quality … sadly not … 5.50 for a vegan battered sausage which is very small , £6 for a few pieces of fried halloumi that are not even battered !! Over £40 spent and unable to enjoy it . We gave it the benefit of the doubt after our disappointing last visit !! Sadly won’t be retuning or recommending a visit . Such a shame as we’d travel especially to go here as the food used to be great. Please don’t waste your time or money travelling here .

First and last, never again! Staff extremely rude, especially the young girl with long dark hair with attitude (eating at the till and busy!). We paid over £40 and we were the only customers waiting outside. I asked if I could have our child’s food as she was crying. The three staff just glared at me and said ‘you have to have your food together’ they eventually decided to give me hers but, gave one of our other orders but!! I had to give this back (incredible). Staff sat on the floor writing and changing the menu. Ignoring us. Very unwelcoming. I even said to the young female with dark hair, have I done something to you as, you are glaring at myself and my daughter and her partner. She continued to glare! I will stick to My local Cowbridge fish and chips. Such a shame as, nice setting but dismal staff.

Awesome spot for a lunchtime snack, with abundant gluten free options. The food really is first class!

My husband and I always eat here, but after today this will no longer be the case. Update on this: I called Cobbles and the young girl who answered was lovely and helpful. She said another breakfast bagel would be sent out because mine was inedible, then after the call my husband came in to say his Ruben was also inedible. After an hour of waiting I called back to be told the following: "The manager checked again after you called and said everything was fine our end. It was because the Deliveroo driver was 35 minutes late. We will not be sending another. Sorry we did not call you, we were waiting on you to call back because we couldn't find your number on the Deliveroo order." Interesting - The Deliveroo driver must have a toaster in their car if it is indeed their fault. After I called I noticed the bread was all burnt on the inside, as was the bacon (Perhaps the Deliveroo driver thought it needed longer!?Cooked it on his engine maybe!?). My husband had a Ruben sandwich and the pastrami was missing, his bread was also burnt, and the meat was tough and chewy. I will no longer bring my custom here. I will be reporting this to the Food Standards Agency. I will be leaving bad reviews wherever I can. They have blocked me from their FB page after making a complaint.

We went here after a weekend away thinking it would be a nice end to our trip. We arrived at 17.55 and there was a "sorry we are closed sign" despite the website saying it shut at 19:00. We asked if they were closed and we were told "it depends what you order" We were able to order some of the food that we wanted but couldn't have others such as prawns. Bit of a shame as it was over an hour until closure. When we got our food, we got home and the chips were missing. So we had to go back out and get it. When we had the chips they were cooked more than once, probably more than twice, just reheated. They were all hard and crispy. We have tried cobbles once before and had a poor experience but let it go as it had just opened. Unfortunately we won't be coming back to cobbles again. Its very expensive if you are not getting fresh cooked food and also, not being able to get what you wanted because they shut in an hour's time.

Had to get refund as chips were too hard for fork to pierce and all chips had bubbles on (I assume we're cooked too quick) was looking forward to these hut sadly not what I was expecting, staff were fine and agreed with complaint and would not of eat them. Ended up going to Cefn glas chip shop half the price and no complaints curry sauce was lovely as well

It's a shame both The Catch and The Deli come under the same review. I have had numerous amazing sandwiches, cakes, coffees and service from the Deli and continue to recommend and use the place throughout the year. Last Sunday we decided to try The Catch and have some fish and chips by the sea having never tried them and also having high hopes from the service we get from the Deli. I read some poor reviews but decided I'd make my own mind up. The food was waiting for us when we arrived, we foolishly didn't check the bag as the curry sauce was missing. We got to the beach and parked up and as per the reviews the fish was too oily and the chips were too hard and dry, there was no salt and vinegar (or an option for it online) and as there was no sauce we ended up leaving half the chips. We had the fried cookie dough for dessert (which didn't look like the picture - again not enough sauce) but they were really tasty. As we were hungry and didn't want to lose our space we passed back on our way home and asked if the curry sauce could be exchanged for another dessert but they said we could have a can instead. So we won't be ordering from the chip shop again, really disappointing as I'd imagined the classic fish and chips in salt and vinegar by the sea and came away disappointed. Again, love the Deli but I think they could do with taking the negative feedback onboard and using it to improve their overall rating and keep customers coming back for more
