Sully Inn in The Vale of Glamorgan

I recently went there for the "2 for 1" lunch, it was great value, and very tasty.

We have been coming to the Sully Inn regularly since Pascal took over. Food has been amazing, such a welcoming atmosphere. What on earth has happened. 10 of us went for Sunday lunch today. Food was mediocre and we were asked to leave our table, plates had not been cleared or dessert asked for, as it was booked. I asked for when. I was told NOW and will give you the bill. I was so shocked in the manner this was delivered. Children had not even been offered their desserts. What on earth has happened since Pascal has left. This Duty Manager was rude and we had no idea our table was booked for a certain time. Having said that the 2 waitresses were very apologetic.

A bit too noisy for me. But nice food.

First visit today, won't be our last. Really interesting menu, well executed and delicous. Prices were very reasonable and all the staff were friendly and professional. All in all a great place for food, smart, clean, would recommend to anyone apart from Elon Musk but that's a personal preference.

Gastro pub that caters for every taste. We try to get here as often as possible. Staff are great. Friendly, & helpful. Food is ..... lush! Enough said.

Lovely place feels very homely, service was on point, the two lunch menu’s had great variety and keen prices - would recommend anyone to eat here - GREAT PLACE we opted for the fish and chips today and tasted great - well done we shall see you soon

What a lovely time we had at the sully inn. Lovely table near the rear of the building. Welcomed in by lovely staff. Drinks order was quickly taken and quickly delivered even though place was very busy. Food order was the same checking on when we were ready. Food choice was great a couple of sharers, several starters and great choice of main and desserts. We had cod goujons, scotch egg and the mushrooms, all piping hot and very tasty while all looking great on the plates. Mains where baked fish, which looked great, a pork platter, containing a belly pork chunk, a large pork chop, a pork confit, roast potatoes and broccoli. Finally a lamb burger with fries also looked amazing. I should have asked for a steak knife for the pork chop, it wasn't tough, it tasted great, but it was thick and my normal knife struggled. Dessert choice was good too, we went for treacle tart with ice cream and toffee sauce and a snickers style dessert to finish.

Steak was cold came with a knob of garlic butter they hadn’t melted. We told the waitress who offered to replace it brought same steak out few minutes later that had either been microwaved or plate had been warmed, still not hot food and now cold chips as had been waiting. Not worth complaining again as everyone else had nearly finished their food.

This Sunday lunch came highly recommended by two dear friends of mine. It certainly came up trumps when a party of five of us dined there today. At only an hours notice did Nathan kindly accommodate us a table at the front of the restaurant. The decor is contemporary modern and the ambiance was perfect for a family occasion. The servers were excellent and far exceeded expectations and coped well under pressure. They were professional, courteous, attentive and engaging. They certainty do The Vale Of Glamorgan very proud. My two cousins and their partners were impressed and they don’t impress easily. Complimentary sour dough bread, butter and iced lemon water was brought to the table. Adequate time was given before our orders were taken. Only one starter was ordered whilst four of us opted for desert. The starter was ham hock terrine and salad which was divine. An assortment of soft drinks, lagers and cider was enjoyed whilst waiting for the main meals. My cousin and I chose the pork belly with crackling. Other family members enjoyed a slow braised brisket of beef, a roasted Glamorganshire sirloin roast dinner and finally a cod fillets with Mediterranean vegetables and new potatoes dish. All meals were flawless. Excellent Yorkshire puddings, seasoned meals and delicious gravy. All portions were heartily and plates were cleared! Deserts were sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, a bakewell tart and two lemon cheesecakes. All were exceptional and staff checked in on us regularly. Nathan and the team really looked after us and we cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We tipped generously to show our gratitude. A well deserved five stars. 🌟

This is one fabulous place to go for drinks and food. Lovely decor on entering, clean, friendly welcoming staff and enticing menu. Next level food with great service. Will be back.

From a warm greeting as we walked into the establishment, to the service, quality and quantity of the food was excellent. It may have been a bit pricey, and there is no justification for charging £50 for a bottle of wine. However, saying all that, we will definitely return.

Just caught the end of lunch and they were more then happy to serve up. Brilliant food, excellent service and the digger's gold washed it down nicely.

Went here today for Sunday lunch, first time going to the pub. Atmosphere was lovely, staff were fantastic and the food was top class! Could not recommend enough and will definitely be back. Had the cod wrapped in nori starter which was beautiful and the roast beef brisket main which I’d happily say was one of the best roast meals I’ve had 👍🏻 5 ⭐️

Lovely village pub with great food, located just round the corner from the church. Little on the expensive side but found a day when they were doing 2 for 1 on mains so excellent value at that price. Most mains were between £16-18 with stakes £28-35.

We attended a christening buffet here and it was great. Buffet and service was spot on. Would recommend it.

Ate there yesterday. Steak & pint £17.50. Very good Steak & meal. Great atmosphere there. Downside, free pint was an ale, cider or lager. I drink Guinness. Offered to pay extra, told no, so bought my Guinness seperately thus paying more. Point....offering a Guinness drinker the other choices, is like giving a gammon meal when a Fillet Steak is ordered. As I said, food was really good.....but

We booked a table for 5 for my daughter's Masters results, and arrived to find the place almost full. However what we didn't realise was they were having a quiz night. We were asked if we would like to join, But politely declined. After 5 mins the Landlord approached us and asked if we would prefer to go upstairs to the restaurant. It was closed, but he opened it up just for us and provided a waitress for us. Thank you so much for your understanding. The Landlord and staff made us totally at ease and we're so attentive. They made us feel like royalty. Many thanks for a great night. The food was delicious 😋👍

We were seated straight away even though we had arrived a bit early and were served a lovely meal. To add to the enjoyment, it was a buy one get one free deal!

A birthday walk and celebration for a friend, everyone's food looked fabulous, although two of us had fish n chips, the fish was overcooked and dry, such a shame, bad choice on our part, but everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their, steak, burgers and halloumi. Service was very good and staff were very attentive.

After reading the reviews, myself and a group of friends attended for a Sunday lunch , and we can honestly say that the meal was delicious and the service was incredible and the young lady "Holly" done a excellent job looking after us I would highly recommend a visit

Lovely local gastro pub. We have been here on a few separate occasions now and always had a good experience with great food and lovely welcoming staff. One note is that dogs are welcome inside but is still clean. otherwise a great place to get some food.

Too many dishes have curry in them and a nice evening was ruined by having to listen to a barking dog for the 2 and half hours we were there. The manager should have asked the woman to leave!

This was the first time I have been there. The staff were lovely, the ambiance good and the menu interesting and fairly priced.

Great little pub nicely decorated. Very tasty menu reasonably priced and a good selection of beers, staff were helpful and attentive. It's also dog friendly which is helpful after a walk on the beach..

Smashing place,staff very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. One fault it was very cold upstairs there was no way to stop the cold air coming upstairs from the front door. They need a partition and a door at the top of the stairs.

The food was very good as we're the staff. There was also a really great band playing called Little Rock, which was brilliant! Great night! Thank you.

Nice venue on the way into / out of Sully. Parking opposite is very hand. Modern and clean interior. Menu quite good, prices a little high. Food has been good on several occasions. You can book online to avoid disappointment. Recommend for Sunday lunch. Two courses are available for £22 and three courses for £24.50. Staff very friendly.

Very pleasant evening. A broad enough menu to meet the conservative elderly gentleman in our party and interest us somewhat more intrepid. The tasty camembert starter came with a leek "ganoush" which was a slightly silly name for a not overly exciting purée. Otherwise, the smoked salmon starter was good and the burger, chicken breast and sea bass all went down well. A friendly atmosphere

The tomahawk steak 🥩 30 Oz was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! Very beefy. The Nachos were not good at all! Were they really Nachos? I don't think so. But everything else was spot on! Beat miller and carter ten fold!

Lovely food but a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Access up a set of steps and parking across a road.. Didnt think it suitable for wheelchair access. Pleasant inside.

Went for Sunday lunch. Not a huge choice but what they did was fab. Had lamb roast dinner,plenty of meat, came with roast and boiled potatoes and vegetables on the side. Staff really friendly and helpful.Always around but not in your face. Would highly recommend it.

The worsted meal I have ever had. The beef was impossible to eat, the roast potatoes were dreadful, vegetables were not hot. Not enough staff to clear the tables and a long wait for service. Going again NO NO even if it was FREE

Disappointing menu. More pub lunch than restaurant. Issues with both my starter and main course. However, issues were resolved by the staff quickly and cannot fault the service. Dessert was the highlight.

New name and new management now, they are doing a good job, and the place is nicely decorated, good polite staff, nice food.

Great food and super friendly staff

No, I'm not the newsreader! The mixed reviews already posted are probably appropriate because I've seen a variety of responses from customers while I've been sitting here with a pot of tea and some scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. One couple who were here before me have twice pointed out that they've been waiting a long time for part of their order. Meanwhile, my food has arrived, I've finished it, and they're still waiting. My scrambled eggs (over cooked for my likings, though that's personal taste, with too much toast and missing the promised Hollandaise sauce) arrived within 4-5 minutes but my pot of tea took 15 and when it arrived it was big enough for the Household Cavalry. Apparently they've run out of "normal" sized tea pots! The waiting staff are running around like mad and I've heard them apologise to at least three other tables. Admittedly, for 11am it's very busy here with virtually every table occupied. Unfortunately that demonstrates a lack of planning - it would appear the system can't cope. Surely, if you're going to pack a particular number of tables into your new restaurant, you first make sure you can serve them all. On the flip side, another table has arrived, ordered and been served promptly and seem quite satisfied. Hence the mixed reviews, I guess. These are the same sort of comments as were posted when the place first opened a few weeks ago. I wonder how long problems are considered "teething" and when they become established. A previous reviewer has admittted to knowing the owners. I do too, though maybe not so well. I'd really like to see this place turn into a roaring success, but it's not there yet. We've also booked for dinner next week. Note to self: "Keep an open mind, Fatty, it will be fine!"

First visit since it opened and nothing but praise. Food was good and wasn't too expensive. The place has been transformed from when it was the Sully Inn. Will be back.
