CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH..beautifulcoffee

comment_iconOpinions

You would think the minimum requirement for running a cafe was the ability to speak to people politely. The couple were extremely rude. They completely ignored us waiting at their serving window. The woman spent 5 mins studiously stirring what looked like 2 cups of instant coffee. It's a shame as their attitude put a real downer on a beautiful place. This is repeated again and again in these reviews, and it's true. These people obviously need to retire, get a job they like, or get some serious customer service training. I would avoid if you want to enjoy your walk. Park somewhere else, walk there, and take a flask. For info..car park is £5.

I can concur that the guy serving needs either a personality transplant or a job where he doesn’t need to interact with the public but if you go pre-warned it’s actually pretty funny. The bacon butty and coffee were really good. Cost £5 to park 🤨

Lovely friendly staff, a good set of choices of food to snack on, had a lovely burger that filled a gap for me to continue with my coastal hike, nice seating area, toilet facilities were great too, and nice and clean. The seaside decor was great to, really made you feel that yes you are at the seaside again.. Besides that, a fantastic place overlooking the ocean in the field where you can pitch your campervan etc..

The cafe is positioned on an outstandingly beautiful cliff top campsite/parking area. Fantastic walks on the coastal path. Perfect views and wonderful walks. Some tricky and narrow at times but well worth the effort. We visited this picturesque place twice this week and loved it. Paid £5 to park and spent £15 each visit in the small, very basic but well stocked cafe. We travelled from Ogmore Vale again for the third visit today expecting to park up, enjoy the walks and the beach. So, very disappointed to be turned away by an unbelievably rude lady who was running the cafe. She had been there on our previous visits but we had been shown onto the site by a very pleasant man and younger man. We arrived to be told "not today" !!!! And she then explained the site was giving priority to camper vans. We questioned this after she said cars and small vans were only allowed on weekends. Perhaps Fridays at Nash Point isn't a weekday but the price list and opening times sign didn't reflect this. Unsure if she felt £5 plus what we'd have spent in the cafe was not enough to provide entry. We appreciate campers would pay more but her attitude and abrupt manners was unnecessary. Astonishingly bad customer service and a poor advocate for Welsh hospitality. Such a shame and such a disappointment.

Nash Point is a beautiful area for a walk. But extreme caution needed around the cafe and parking area to avoid the displeasure of bumping into one of the world’s most miserable men. Clearly has some childhood issues and needs to change from a customer service role to working in a dark room.. it’s more suited to his personality. Basil Fawlty has previously been mentioned in a review - apt but he’s not half as funny.

Parked here to take the dog for a walk and possibly for lunch/coffee after. The place was surrounded by hostile signs everywhere. Where to go/who could use the loos and numerous ‘keep your dog on a lead’ signs. Like most dog owners we’re responsible and wouldn’t dream of having dog off lead anywhere near sheep/cattle. One sign even warned of potentially shooting your dog for worrying sheep. Ironic when sheep and lambs were ‘fenced’ off by a single strand of barbed wire at my hip height. If they are so worried about their sheep maybe fence them properly so they don’t get hit by vehicles? Needless to say didn’t stop for food/coffee….

Fabulous little cafe overlooking the sea , £3 to park Only about 25 spaces along by the cafe , not a car park but just gravel road. The cafe served food , all fresh cooked , very nice. Tea .coffee all reasonably priced. A range of hot food served. Ice creams for the kids The lady at the cafe wasn't really friendly maybe she was having a bad day 🤣 but the man was pleasant and spoke pleasantly. You can sit in the cafe a few tables or outdoors about 5 tables over looking the cliffs. Had a walk to the light house and along the cliff. The coastal path walk looks like it has collapsed , but apart from the flies it was a nice little walk along and back to the cafe 10 min walk in total x No signal at all on the cliff top or by the cafe. Toilets are clean and very nice , its park of the cafe so well looked after. Will definitely return to the cliff cafe a pleasant day out x

Most people that run a customer facing business realise that you should probably be at least courteous to your customers. It’s almost as if the staff here resent the fact that you’re there. We arrived to park and had intended to go for a walk and get some food from the cafe afterwards but the attitude of the staff meant we went elsewhere for food. Views are good though.

Can't comment on the Cafe's fayre as it was closed for re-painting the externals. The car park has a £3 charge which is fair. Pay the Cafe owner, who I must say was a nice chap and we had a good natter about days gone by. There are picnic tables here and as we took a flask availed ourselves of them for our drink. The view here is stunning. There is a way down to the sea here but as the missus didn't wear proper footwear didn't risk it.

This could be an amazing place, the location is perfect BUT the people who run the cafe are consistently miserable and rude. I've bought tea and cakes her here on numerous occasions and they never fail to be irritable. What a bloomin' shame! It used to be run by lovely elderly folk who eventually sold it to this 'Herbert'. If you do go don't park here, save yourself £3, park back up near the pub for free then it's a very nice 10-minute stroll down the lane to the cafe and stunning beach beyond.

Best Welsh cakes I've ever eaten, apparently made locally in the village. Bacon rolls also a great snack, made up for the disappointment that they had sold out of cheeseburgers at the weekend.
