It was my first time here. The service was ok, but the food was not great: my rum caramelised pork belly was way overcooked, burned. Apple tart was undercooked and cold. Other had burgers (cheese was burned), mixed grill meat was dry and overcooked.

They no longer do food !! This site is well out of date. I'm glad l telephoned beforehand! Shame, it looks such a great venue.

This small family-run delicatessen is a great place to shop locally for wholefoods and locally produced goods, including hand-made bread, local jam, honey and chutneys, biscuits and cakes, various local beers and other drinks, cheese and meat as well as plenty of ideas for small gifts. There are also a good number of vegetarian products. Plenty of non-food items too such as genuinely environmentally friendly household cleaning, soap, toiletries, even socks! Really amazing what is contained in this TARDIS-like shop! There is a café in the back of the shop which is popular with walkers (I can’t comment as I haven’t been to the café myself), and also a separate counter for buying loose local cheese and there’s always a great selection including my favourite Cuddy’s Cave. The one gripe I have being the use of throwaway plastic wrap/cling film in an otherwise very environmentally friendly shop. I must mention the fantastic “tea wall” (as I call it), a large section of shelving containing such a huge range of tea, including herbal and fruit teas (sadly no Dr Stuart’s recently so I have had to buy online). There is also a range of locally roasted coffee. Although we prefer to buy from small local businesses can be difficult to get what we need locally (we aren’t fans of the one local supermarket at all) so Tully’s is really good to pop into for certain items. All in all it’s an essential local store which I enjoy visiting. We recently had family visiting from the Netherlands who enjoyed visiting Tully’s too.

The best pub meal we’ve had in a long while. Proper pub grub done to a really high standard. Delicious chips and generous sized kids portions. Both the mains and desserts were great. Very quick service was a real bonus. Spacious dining area yet cosy, with fires burning. Highly recommend this pub for unpretentious, hearty fare.

Past in by when I wanted a snack for lunch. There was a small queue but quickly went. Three sausage rolls were ordered and all three of us said they weren’t great. They were cold and we got ones warmed up in the microwave because we wanted them hot. The tray bake selection however looked good, never tried it though.

Just had a meal drinks and desert with friends (4 in total) on the 2 for 1 offer definitely worth a visit for what I call good pub grub at good prices. Greeted by very friendly staff member (sorry didn’t remember name)who dealt and provided us throughout our meal with great delivery and friendly service. The food was good just what I want and like at lunchtime. All round pleasant experience and will definitely be back. Thanks again.😊

We were staying in nearby Kielder Waterside as we do and have done for the past 7 years during February half term. We came across this pub last year where we enjoyed a nice meal and so were looking forward to returning. We visited twice over the course of the week and had 2 completely different experiences. The first visit was nice and we all enjoyed good food and good service. The second time we experienced an extremely confrontational and rude landlord who needs to learn some skills in customer service. Our 19 year old son ordered a pint of Guinness. He wasn’t asked for ID despite looking much younger than 19. He had 3 pints during our time there. We had paid the bill and were getting ready to leave when the landlord went to the pool table and took the remaining half a pint off my son. He slammed it down on our table and then shouted at us that our 3 boys had all been drinking and he would lose his license. Our other sons are 18 & 12. The 18 year old doesn’t drink due to a health condition and I’m pretty sure that our 12 year old doesn’t drink either!!!!!!! The 18 year old had a small sip of the 19 year olds drink as I had called through to tell them we were leaving! Firstly, I completely understand that you are responsible for your license and that it is your livelihood, but you need to establish facts before being extremely rude to paying customers. Secondly, had you spoken to us, your paying customers, with respect and an ounce of decency and customer service we would have gladly shown you the ID for our 19 and 18 year old sons. I do not appreciate being spoken to and then not given a right of reply. My sons said that you told them you’d been watching them on your cameras, which I find a bit strange. If you were so concerned about our sons (legally) drinking and presumed without establishing facts that they were drinking underage then I would suggest in future you speak to us in a courteous and respectful manner. Such a shame that the other reviews on here about your bad attitude have been proven unfortunately correct. This is the first review I have ever written and would always usually give places the benefit of the doubt but your rudeness was not acceptable. You’d learn some lessons from the staff working at the Black Bull Hotel in Bellingham. I suggest you ask for training.

Booked a table for 4 people, arrived for our meal, and were greeted with a warm welcome. Ordered our meals, and tucked into delicious cobbler with fresh veg etc, All of the meals were so tasty, and the attentive service was excellent, couldn’t fault any of the service we received. The inn was pretty busy and the atmosphere was great. Stopped after for a few drinks then when back to our caravan. I would fully recommend the cottage inn if you are in the area.

We went for breakfast and to be honest it was crap the worst I can remember ever getting and we work on building site's..the bacon was like rock/ the egg was like a rubber disc /the sausages were under cooked and tasteless / the mushrooms were dry and over cooked also /the butter was that hard we couldn't spread it on the stone cold toast ...sorry for the bad review but it the truth ...only saving grace was the staff member who served us she was very pleasant and made you feel welcom
