Lovely meal, and the staff were great. The Black Bull has a really good atmosphere, with good food, comfortable seating and a good range of beers.

Food was fantastic. The staff were very attentive and a great atmosphere.

The meal I had was excellent, everything cook to the highest standard, well done the Chef.

Didn't do real chips but the rest food was very nice. The waiter Aaron new his stuff and was very helpful 5*

Place was nice and staff were friendly but food was very disappointing weatherspoons standard frozen fair which I don't have a problem with at spoons but not what I expected from a country pub.

I was really pleasantly surprised. The late lunch there was excellent experience. Desserts were just outstanding. 5 out of 5 for everything.

Sorry for previous review, wrong establishment. This black bull is in a delightful little village we just so happened to pass through. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. We were seated promptly. The squid starter was absolutely amazing!! And the garlic mayo dip was extremely tasty. Tyhe pub was very traditional and very busy, but food was still served quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing by the area!!!

Gorgeous cooked breakfast. I had the veggie option ( sausages/patties were fabulous) , husband had the meaty option. Both were delicious. Staff were pleasant and attentive, food was hot and tasty and the coffee was good. Booked online but it was very quiet. Will definitely be visiting again.

A thoroughly lovely pub, with excellent food and a great atmosphere. Despite being very bust our food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Easily the best chicken burger I've had. They also have a very good selection of real ales and being dog friendly is the icing on the cake. Truly couldn't fault the place.

Staff we’re friendly, nice atmosphere. The Sunday lunches were a let down must have stood for a good while as served on cold plates which meant a cold dinner. The pork was somewhat tough and chewy.. There was one of the dinners not plated up properly with no roast potatoes as expected. Such a shame as this pub was recommended by one of the locals.

Sunday dinner is one of the worse I have had in a while. Roasties were clearly frozen or from the week before. Would not come back.

Exactly what we were looking for a friendly well appointed pub with resteraunt and great helpful staff. My Dad and all the family generations had a fabulous night to remember , nit rushed but well attended too just what tge Doctor ordered 👍. 10/10 . Just as good and food fab a really credit to Green King. Staff friendliness really stands out .

What a lovely place! Food excellent, tasty & well presented. The staff are wonderful, lovely Conor behind the bar was charming & helpful. Took some photos but my camera skills leave a lot to be desired and do not do the food justice! (Plus we started to eat before I remembered to take photos!) Reasonable prices, good portion sizes & delicious. You may need to book as it did get busy, which is not a huge surprise given the lovely food. The waitress was very lovely too, did not get her name, over all a very pleasant evening.

The Black Bull is a welcoming pub in the heart of Corbridge with good service. It proved a cosy place for lunch with friends. I opted for the Signature Burger which was served with skin-on fries and onion rings. My one negative criticism is that the onion rings portion was quite small. Overall, though, I enjoyed visiting.

We called in late on our way back from a day out, and after being turned away elsewhere further afield, the staff were very accommodating. We understood that it was very close to last serving time, yet they still allowed us to have something to eat. The place was very clean and the staff were lovely.

The Sunday Lunch was absolutely delicious!! Quick service and able to take our dog in. Really enjoyed it, just wish it was closer to home as we'd be very regular visitors!

Sunday early evening meal. 4pm booking..Ordered food…told meat was off menu, then after placing order told no Turkey. Surly as they use I pads they should know when ordering that items are not available…Gammon horrendously salty, pineapple was thinner than a tissue….the pie chicken, leek and cheese was so dry. The sea basss was over loaded with a very non discrip sauce, it was very odd tasting, thick,glupy.and just no flavour , it was ordered with no butter nor capers, yet capers were within the sauce r..All our veg was either raw or just not cooked at all.the chips tasted “stale”..like old chips partly cooked and just tiny bit warmed….sadly this is the second time visiting with family whereby we are extremely embarressed with the quality of food. We went for a light lunch in the Black Bull on 25th June as it was dog friendly. It was a lovely experience. Very nice clean pub, great friendly service and excellent food. I ordered a cheese toastie and was amazed at the size of it and was really tasty, without doubt the best toastie I have had to date. Would definitely recommend and will certainly visit again. Well done and thanks to all the staff for giving us such a good experience.

Lovely atmosphere in the pub and really friendly and helpful staff. I'm gf and nothing was too much trouble for them. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and all the plates went back empty, the deserts were delicious, not good for the figure but I was on holiday!

Food was fantastic. I had the mixed grill which was incredible. However my friend had the pie, which gave me instant jealousy as it looked incredible. The atmosphere is superb. What a lovely pub to sit in. Could have easily spent all day in there. So comfortable. The music was nice background noise, perfect noise level. Staff were superb. Very friendly, quick and just generally all round fantastic service. The plates were cleared quickly as soon as they knew we were finished and the plates were just getting in the way. Honestly great pub, Ill happily go out of my way to go back. Corbridge is lovely anyway, but this just adds to it

Great atmosphere on a match day

The pub is well laid out and had a nice atmosphere even early on a Saturday afternoon. The food was well cooked and they had some items which were specials to the pub.

Popped in for lunch had two small dogs with us, so we requested sitting outside. Food looked good and tasted delicious. My husband ordered the gammon , I ordered the seabass. Would definitely recommend and if we are ever in the area again would return.

Excellent breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. Will return soon .

Quite surprised that it was hard to find a pub open on a Sunday bank holiday weekend evening. But after a long bike ride we needed some grub. Reluctantly booked The Bull. We've always enjoyed a drink here, but never rated the food. What a suprise. We had a fabulous a Sunday roast dinner. The food was excellent and the service. And we finished with a tasty sticky toffee pudding. Definitely a turnaround in food quality. We will 100% be back for a.sunday roast in future

Lucky enough to have a couple of days in Corbridge whilst walking Hadrian's Wall, was recommended by our host and were not disappointed. Pam and the family team looked after us like Royalty and the food was superb, the best pib food for 50 miles in any direction! Thanks for looking after us so well. Lovely pub with fabulous decor and atmosphere. We had lunch on a weekday. Dog friendly, comfortable, and cosy with good service, although our meals took a while to arrive. We were a bit disappointed with the steak pie as it didn't feel home made and there wasn't much meat in it - given the top price. Hence, not 5 stars.

This a real dichotomy of a review since the service was very friendly and I love the atmosphere in this pub but unfortunately the food quality and quantity has diminished in the last few years. I feel as if I can't be too hard on the Black Bull since they've been put under the same stresses as every other pub and restaurant during the nonsense years of the covid madness. However, as a business owner myself I am very much of the opinion that the product (in this case the food) should never be compromised when times are good and especially when times aren't good. Unfortunately the quality and quantity of the food has been reduced since the pre-2020 years and that is very disappointing. To be fair the vast majority of places I have visited since the events of 2020 kicked off have reduced the quantity and the quality of the food on the menu - for some of my local pubs and restaurants that has been fatal and I'm glad that until this point it has not been fatal for the Black Bull but if they continue down this route of reduced portions, inflated prices and reduced quality they may go the same way and I don't want to see that happen since this sort of business is a critical central focus for a village like Corbridge The starter on my most recent visit was garlic mushrooms so I naturally expected whole button (or at least half button) mushrooms in a well seasoned garlic dressing. What I got was thinly sliced wet mushrooms (from a can?) in a weakly seasoned white sauce over a couple of pieces of garlic bread - I did not order garlic bread and I wanted garlic mushrooms. The main course was a steak pie with seasonal vegetables and home made chips and that should have been a simple dish to put together. The pie was small, barely filled and the seasonal vegetables were minimal with a few token gestures of a 'home made chips' side to the dish. I've given the Black Bull 3 stars as it's sadly become a middle-of-the-road pub compared to the Black Bull we visited pre-2020 which was always 5 stars. I really hope it can get back to offering good value for money and I certainly wouldn't want to be involved in the hospitality business as I can only imagine how hard it must be for them now. To put some sort of context to this review everywhere we've visited during and after early 2020 has resulted in disappointment so the Black Bull is not an outlier for the consumer experience. I'd probably give 2-3 stars for most of the 'dining experiences' we've had in the last 4 years. I genuinely hope that they can get back on track and once again be a great experience for diners. As soon as I see an upturn in reviews from other diners I will be back and no doubt enjoying the experience and I genuinely wish the Black Bull all the best even though I've only given 3 stars in this review.

Can honestly say Michael and his team offer a wonderful service. It ticked all the boxes, lovely atmosphere, great care and attention by the staff, food was good and ample choice at a very reasonable price. 5 Star

Sunday lunch, not very good, served just slightly warm, beef tough, roast potatoes very dry, service was good and quick. Pudding nice. Place very nice. That's where it ends. Sorry, have attended here over numerous years, but will have to improve to come back. Had meal price deducted, otherwise would have been expensive.

Excellent trip here with my wife. Vibe was great. Only thing is, the sharing platter was not good, just a bit of bread and a LOT of cheese. There wasn't enough bread or extra meats, you almost have to use your spoon to just eat the cheese there's so much of it. I would have went 4 stars but everything else brought it up to 5. Please fix the sharing platter!

Had Sunday lunch. The food was better than some of the reviews I read after already booking and paying deposit but it was average and the roast potatoes were awful. I complained and another bowl was brought out -not any better. The family on the next table complained also saying they thought they'd been served frozen roasties. Absolutely tasteless and dry. They were also given a further supply but decided they couldn't eat the dinners and sent everything back. Will return as it's a lovely dog friendly pub but won't be spending on food.

I have loved this pub for several years, however the food has terribly went down hill. It’s all frozen, nothing tastes fresh. Chips are awful. Steak pie also lacked flavour and had barely any steak in it. However the most disappointing dish was the children’s pizza I ordered for my son. The pizza was a tiny Chicago town frozen pizza! I was appalled when I seen this being served, especially as they make it sound appealing on the menu! I can buy these pizzas for a third of the price in my local supermarket. They are cheap for a reason. Unfortunately will not be returning unless the menu is changed for the better.

Great pub lovely grub, best to book at busy times. Pubs carpark is small and tight, parking just along the road is pay and display except Sundays when some are free. Five minute walk to free car park at end of village over the river. Well worth a visit for the friendly efficient staff and lovely meals.

My wife and I had a ciabatta each and we were extremely satisfied with them. We would highly recommend this pub.

My sister and I went here for lunch midweek. It was during the school holidays, but we got a table no bother without booking. The service was fabulous, staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The burger was delicious and we didn't have to wait very long at all. My only slight criticism is that the chips were frozen, they were still tasty though. We didn't get dessert as we had stocked up on cakes from Grants. A very enjoyable visit. I would definitely go back and recommend highly.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Black Bull. The menu was varied, the usual pub grub but with a variety of different choices, as well a selection of vegetarian options and weekly specials. The service from Blake and his colleagues was attentive but not over bearing and they did not rush us to finish our meal. Dogs are also allowed in the bar area. We will definitely be returning.

First time visiting and would highly recommend the place The food was amazing and the service brilliant.Ruben our waiter was very nice and made sure we where looked after. I'm a vegan and my wife a vegetarian and there was plenty on the menu for both of us

Usually have lunch elsewhere when we visit Corbridge but they were busy so tried a pub meal. Had to eat in a rear dark and dismal bar room. Husband couldn't even see the menu. Staff not particularly engaging. Meals arrived with minimal basic presentation, rather small offering for the price. Left disappointed but as we don't usually eat in pubs perhaps our expectations are too high. Food was cooked well though, just not enough to satiate.

I am amazed I haven't reviewed this pub yet. It's a great place to bring a partner and or a group of people. The food is unreal, the options of drinks is great too. You can't go wrong calling in here.
