I popped along for coffee and food with my husband and granddaughter today. The lady took our order then disappeared, with no explanation. We were left waiting for our food and drinks, after a while she came back with no apology. I asked her colleague for our order, because by now other orders had been taken. I asked the colleague what had happened and she said, "she had to run to the toilet it was an emergency". Seeing the lady behind the counter handling food after being told of the emergency toilet situation 🤢. I said I didn't need to know the details, and could I please cancel my food order. She was rude and abrupt and said she was only being honest and telling the truth.... Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes I was offered a refund which I declined as another assistant offered to prepare my order. Working in hospitality myself (restaurant supervisor), I would be horrified if a member of staff had expressed to a customer that she had to go to the toilet because it was an emergency ! Any other excuse could have been given, but the toilet and an emergency aren't the words you want to hear when someone is preparing your food. The assistant defended herself in a rude manner by saying "I was only telling the truth, do you want me to tell lies". Not very professional. And actually yes ! In this instance a lie would have been better. But once again, thank you for your swift reply, perhaps some staff training might be helpful.

We had been staying in a lodge at the resort and made a stop for breakfast on the way out. We had cancelled a meal at the restaurant the day before on reading the terrible reviews but thought breakfast may be different. The service in the bar area was terrible. The employee saw myself and my friend searching for a breakfast menu and made no effort to assist until we asked her if they served breakfast. She then completely ignored my other friends whilst they were waiting at the bar ages to order, making no effort to tell them she would be with them after making a drinks order for another table. My friend had been overcharged the day before for coffee’s and when she asked what could be done was told ‘nothing I can do, I wasn’t here’. No advice to offer to help or point in the right direction. We placed an order for breakfast and then waited in excess of 40 minutes despite there only being one other table occupied. When the food came out the poached eggs were overcooked and hard boiled and the muffin was rock hard. By this time there was a queue at the bar and having waited so long for food we needed to be leaving.

Since having new owners and a refurb, The Coach and Horses in Stoke Newington is now hands-down one of the best pubs in the area and an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates a proper pint in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you can tell this is a place that truly cares about quality – especially when it comes to drinks. The selection is top-notch. Particular credit goes to their choices from Pressure Drop and Deya. Whether you're after something crisp and sessionable or a bold, juicy IPA, there's always something exciting on tap. Beyond the stellar beer, what really sets The Coach and Horses apart is the vibe – friendly, relaxed, and full of character. Much of that is thanks to Mark, the manager, who is clearly passionate about what he does. Mark runs the place with the perfect balance of professionalism and charm – always up for a chat, genuinely welcoming, and clearly committed to making everyone feel at home. You get the sense that he’s curated not just a drinks list, but a community. In short: great pub, amazing beer, and an even better team. The Coach and Horses is a local treasure – long may it thrive!

The Golden Anchor has become my partner and I, chill out spot on a Saturday evening. We attended on Saturday 3rd May, it wasn't full but it was one of the best nights. Started we the usual warm welcome from the Proprietor. The new bar staff was professional and ensured we were happy with the way he served our drinks. The DJ was on point, great selection of R & B, reggae, POP, dancehall etc. I'm hoping this will be the resident DJ, he watched the small crowd and kept all entertained. The ambience of the pub is so chilled and the patrons are respectful.

I had a wonderful experience at this café! I tried the matcha smoothie for the first time and it was absolutely delicious—smooth, refreshing, and full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and I especially want to mention Manager Karolina, who was incredibly kind and attentive. Great service and amazing drinks—definitely coming back!

For a favourite haunt of ours today the service was really disappointing - clearly it was busy but to accept a group booking to me means we are on top of it but to have been there 2.5hrs and had 1 course tells its own story - starters for some was at least 40 mins with 2 of them being soup. Dessert was never offered as an option & whilst we brought a birthday cake it wasnt our intention to have in place of theirs. Didnt feel valued so just left.
