Ordered flat white and it was very average…

The staff were great but as it was very busy we did have to wait. They were working as quickly as they could

Ordered from just eat paid for the order then when the order arrived there was a note on the bag to say an item is missing no refund or exchange offered! Another item was missing completely and the 1 item out of 3 I did receive was u der cooked and cold! so I phoned the store and the staff were unhelpful and rude so I’ve wasted £20 on items I never received won’t be returning! Staff need training on how to do their jobs and how not to be rude to paying customers very bad service! If I could give 0 stars I would

I can't comment on the coffee, as the shop was so incredibly hot and stuffy that we had to walk out before we ordered. It wasn't even that hot a day. This place needs fans inside 🥵

My favourite cafe for work, chilling, and catching up with friends. Great selection of food and drinks too.

Nice shop and a chilled environment. A good place to go if you want a break from the busy town atmosphere. Highly recommended for book readers. Staff keep the shop clean and make good drinks

The options for food are restricted but totally is a good place with a nice and cosy atmosphere.

I always love going in, and today I took a friend there for the first time. She has a baby and she expressed how lovely the environment and how polite everyone is. Her and I felt very welcomed and the baby was able to be comfortable. I do not know the employees name but it was a lovely girl with tattoos. She was calm, polite, and so so lovely.

We go there 1 or 2 times s week, very helpful and friendly staff.

I only went here because a group I was meeting were here. An insipid cortado. Warm water glasses straight out of dish washer. Very clean disabled toilet earns an extra star.

This is our favourite place for coffee now. It can sometimes take a while to get served, and again a while for our coffee to be expertly made, but it is well worth the wait. It is a delicious cup of coffee that we both thoroughly enjoy.

Always come here to study in my free time. Very relaxing and the coffee is so well presented! wouldn’t choose anywhere else ☺️

We chose two bacon ciabatta rolls, a chicken focaccia, a coffee latte and a half white coffee. The bacon was dry and burnt on the edges and pretty tasteless. The focaccia was fine. The total bill came to just over £20. Which I certainly did not regard as value for money.

So I had the best Experience in a while, Came at the Nero Caffe on Culver Street and wanted to have a Mocha ☕️ and to be honest it was the best ever! Alex was extraordinary same his team too! If everyone want to have a nice time this is the place where you can have coffee work on your laptop 💻 and so on! Thank you Alex for your effort and to your team I am very impressed how nice it is comparing when I use to come few years back…. 🫡🫡🫡

I enjoyed myself, the coffee and pastry wasn't very expensive, there's relaxing music in the background and also a lovely atmosphere created by the staff

I have ordered a magic bag twice from here and have been cancelled twice, which I understand to a certain extent because there might not always have food to spare. However, they only decided to cancel the bag after I had asked for it in the store. They should have cancelled it beforehand, and after I left, I could hear them chuckling about it. Extremely bad customer service

Drinks were alright, but only trainee baristas were working, so didn’t know how their advertised student discount works.

Generally very good, clear the manager was not in today( he is very friendly and efficent) . Female staff member more interested in looking at her phone then taking my order. No pastries, no music, no atmosphere.

Standard Cafe Nero in Colchester, been there many times. Always decent coffee and can always find somewhere to sit.

Very polite and friendly staff. Fairly quiet when we arrived. Coffee is pretty much what you would expect from a chain store. Good place to sit back and have a chat with friends.

As students, me and my friends come here to study (bare in mind we are quiet and respectful people) we haven’t been treated in a nice manor. Been here a few times, hoping to have a better experience than the last and we could never be more wrong. Addressed as ‘oi listen…’ etc. Never had a worse experience anywhere. The food is over priced for the quality and the ‘hot’ drinks were served cold, when I asked for a new one I was asked to pay again. Wouldn’t recommend

Friendly, good coffee and snack selection in a nice location

Ordered my cappacino, sat down and stayed for a while. Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff always pleasant, polite and very helpful. After ordering the Assistant asked if I wanted her/him to take it to my table for me as he/she noticed I had a walking stick. This offer I gladly accepted as I did still want a full mug of coffee by the time I sat down, and not spill it whilst I carried the tray with my dodgy mobility! So a big plus for this! Lovely cappicino too! Visit very often as always feel welcome. 💋💋 xx

From the outside this Nero looks small but once inside it opens right up to the back into a large seating area. Not too busy and a very relaxed feel, serving the normal drinks you find at Nero. But with a few new items on the food menu 👍. Worth stopping in for a coffee.

Sadly quiet, but a nice clean coffee house

I visited this cafe this month. In the middle of a drink and work, the Manager decided to close early. Upon complaining, I was screamed at. It was confirmed by Fenwick staff that he shouldn't have closed early. Incredibly unwelcoming and cold. Very rude staff. Drinks were also of poor standard and certainly not made by a batista.

First time visitor, the food is amazing! Quick to get served and seated. Didn't get 5 stars due to the coffee, it's ok but not as good as other well-known brands. Bought the Christmas blend coffee to taste at home and was much better.

Best place in Colchester to sit and have coffee

The ladies toilets were filthy and absolutely no toilet paper - not good

Not the best inside experience, feels tight and narrow both when ordering and eating in. Staff on this occasion didn't seem to care as much about the coffee they're making, as oppose to majority of others I've been to.

The staff are quite young but always serve you with a smile, despite the rush and stress of the job, the unfortunate rude impatient customer and so on. Most make an good cappuccino with a decent amount of froth. Shame caffe nero charges extra for decaf, that is one thing I do not understand. The shop does close quite early though. The Nero in town also closes earlier than Starbuck and costa, and you get chucked out at 5pm. The in town nero is less nice than the fenwicks one, the staff are less friendly and store is less clean and feels more shabby than chic. Also at both Neros, the vegetarian options are very limited and often there is nothing there...

lovely man serving us today. made us feel welcome and safe with hand san and cleaning. have the eat out to help out so so cheap mon-wed. also didn’t make us feel rushed to leave towards closing time. recommend!

Always get a good one shot cappo here but 2 minor criticisms - I like the music they play but please turn it down a tad and air con always slightly too much!

Good coffee. Decent classical music played at a sensible level. Good service and free newspapers. The loyalty card gets me a free coffee every nine stamps. The Colchester coffee shop is the best.

Love this Cafe Nero and the staff are great. For the past 6 months the internet has not worked and keeps cutting out. Unfortunately I now have to go to Starbucks down the road. Please can you fix it so I can come back? :)

Best tasting coffee of all the chain coffee houses, opens earlier than most others, food is of the usual standard and adequate when needs must.

Good coffee and good sandwiches available the only downside is just the service is too slow, but if I am not in a hurry, We always choose caffe nero

First time in Caffe Nero, Good coffee only had two members of staff on atmosphere was good but trays and used cups left on tables i put that down to been before 9am

A lovely, quaint place to sit and have your morning coffee, or tea, with croissants or other light snacks. They also have sandwiches etc and cakes.

Really helpful and friendly service. Member of staff helped me to use the Caffe Nero app so I could get a stamp with my coffee purchase. Restaurant was very clean and nicely presented. First visit, will come back again.

It a quiet cosy place. The staff are absolutely fantastic. So so friendly. I suffer from paranoia and nerves and I soon calmed down in here. It doesn't usually get too busy either and you can here yourselves talking.

It's our chill out place, it's comfortable and quiet. It's ideal for a chat or to do some work on your laptop. The staff were super friendly and the coffee was good especially made with coconut milk.

I would say for coffee, nero is a lot better than starbuck which is just meters away. we had a machiato and hot chocolate. both were nice and smooth. The atmosphere is relaxed yet you can easily work and be productive, depending on where you sit (sofas or chair and table). i am a lover of tiffin with my coffee, sadly, they dont serve that here. Also, the store might need renovation as the wallpaper is starting to peel away from the wall...

Cosy but expensive like all coffee emporium.

The staff at the time of writing were trainees and it seemed like they were swamped with orders. With that said I still had a delicious coffee with a big slice of carrot cake (which was a little dry) but all in all they did the best they could to make my visit pleasant.

The coffe tastes good, the food tastes as expected - good. The atmosphere is nice as is the service.

Lovely quaint cafe with a good atmosphere selling a nice range of hot & cold drinks as well Panini's, sandwiches, hot snacks, cakes & biscuits, I was served by a friendly new trainee who made me a very tepid & over foamed large cappuccino, I didn't have the heart to take it back to him as it did taste nice enough.

This is the only Nero I've ever been in where I was satisfied with the look of the drinks but the manager insisted in remaking them because she wasn't happy with the way they looked. It always looks busy from the door but don't be put off; there's lots of seating towards the back, including some comfy sofas and chairs.

It's nice to go for a drink or cake but expensive compared to other places.

Poor management have run this chain into the ground. Rather than better training and support of the staff, they cut costs by not fulfilling contracts and by watering down drinks. Absolutely pathetic.

We visit this caffe on a regular basis, the staff are friendly, great atmosphere and above all great coffee, always served with a smile. I would highly recommend a visit.
