This is my third visit to this Costa where the lady manager is very friendly and the young female serving me was polite. I asked for an extra, extra hot chocolate with a lot of froth. I have a huge dislike of lukewarm hot chocolate. Now I get the best hot Costa chocolate up and down the country and Motorway services ,in High Wycombe, Ickenham, Twyford you name it and the staff always seem to be happy to oblige me. The few times I did not think it was extra hot etc the staff offered to make me a new one. Now this is great service and it encouraged me to go back numerous times . Today, in Wootton Basset as the young lady finished making my hot chocolate ( a bit of a misnomer in this case ) I did point out that it did not look very hot and where was the froth (I specifically asked for this at the beginning)? She chose to ignore it and I couldn’t be asked to make a fuss as I had a guy waiting to be served behind me. Sadly, it turned out that the extra hot chocolate was tepid; there was a lot of milk with a tinge of I suppose was some chocolate in it and I had to use sweeteners to get a bit of a sugar taste.Now, I only drank 1/4 . Of course I went over to speak to the girls politely and to give a bit of feedback. I put the almost full takeaway cup on the counter and as I was about to turn away from it I caught sight of the young ladies giving each other the ‘rolling eyes ‘look and there was some sort of whispering . To their bad luck I saw it and politely picked them up on it. Now one of the lovely ladies had the presence of mind to apologise because ‘she couldn’t help her expression and rolling eyes as she’s autistic ‘. And when I asked what the excuse for her colleague was she told me ‘yes, she is also autistic ‘ . Of course ,this made me feel almost guilty.I think it is wonderful that Costa in W. Bassett employs young autistic people. I am all for it. Perhaps there could be a way of letting the customers know so that we don’t mis-read rolling eyes and whispering. O yes, I would have appreciated an offer of making me a hot chocolate to my liking on the house as that would have been a lovely gesture. I probably would have turned it down but would have felt appreciated as a customer .I did say to the girls I'm just giving a feedback. The manager was somewhere in the back. Now it is a lively, clean and friendly place otherwise. Perhaps some customer training might be useful for inexperienced staff and perhaps to suggest that an offer of a new beverage might be useful. I can still recommend this place though. I will just not have a hot beverage there as it's probably the worst hot drink I've had in a very long time .

The girls in Costa Wootton Bassett, are so lovely! Always the warmest welcome to the shop, and nothing is too much for them!

First time here . Very disappointed hardley any cake celection .dirty table .toilet out of order .however plenty of staff . Will not be returning

A regular haunt for our Sunday catchup with family. Comfortable venue to relax over your favourite cappuccino.

Great atmosphere visit this coffee house at least weekly. Great placdvto relax a read the paper.

Coffee is ok , but no different than any other coffee without Costa written on the cup!

I come here every Sunday, with my parents, the staff are friendly, welcoming. The coffee is great and i am a fussy coffee drinker. It is a lovely store.

Disappointed as no vegan food. Had to go elsewhere again. Always used to have vegan options so used to come often for lunch.

Expensive and food mediocre..go to greggs value for money and food 10 times better

Great place to relax have a hot drink, read a book or use you laptop.

Popped in for a coffee after shopping. Staff were so rude. Made you feel a hassle being there. Will never go back.

Lovely Costa, but a no dogs policy which is totally ridiculous in a small country town like Royal Wootton Bassett with lots of country walks and spacious town parks. Jubilee Lake in Royal Wootton Bassett was recently awarded the most dog friendly park in Wiltshire by Trip Advisor in 2021. Be nice to stop at Costa after a nice dog walk.

As usual, a lovely cafe and a great cup of coffee. I sat outside today and as it was a lovely day, it made the experience even better. The Costa is set back from the high street, in a pleasant alleyway, so there's hardly any traffic noise and is a lovely place to sit.

The grande coffee option was nice but it did feel as if I was drinking from the European Cup. Also...Nice cheese and tomato toasties!

I would first like to say WOW to the 2 wonderful girls that served me. When I entered they were singing and laughing and I loved every minute, it was brilliant! To be greated by Grace with a huge warm smile on her face which then suggested that her (clearly) partner in crime Illona make me her famous flat white which was as beautiful and tasty as she told me it would be! WOW! Do not get rid of these girls, they are shining stars and truly the dream team which were the words of another customer that entered the store shortly after myself. As for the rest it was standard costa coffee, clean tables, lots of food in the fridge, cakes were stocked. Didn’t see any other staff apart from an older lady scutter onto counter and make a drink and leave again The girls just made my day, hearing them chat to customers and giggling was so refreshing after the year we have all had! Keep up the good work ladies, you will go far in life with that positive attitude to life

All the other coffee shops/tea rooms in Wootton Bassett seemed to be closed (4.30 pm), but good old Costa came to the rescue. The coffee and cake went down well!

Great sevice and very nice staff

One way in and one way out which is good. Seating outside is okay just don't enjoy when the next table start smoking next to me and my child. Also table wasn't cleaned before use as previous person's stinky cigarettes in the ashtray were on the table. So more regular table cleaning required and sanitising the chairs etc.

Obviously outside only at the moment not enough table & chairs outside. Staff said they're not allowed any more outside their area despite large pedestrian area in front of venue

Passing through the Borough Fields Shopping Centre in Bassett, stopped off at Costa Coffee for a takeaway Latte and to use the facilities. Friendly & helpful barista - thank you for the water for my daughter at no charge. Clean & tidy. Service was a tad slow - but thats purely due to Covid restrictions at having only 2 staff members on duty at any one time for safety - so no issue. Lots of social distancing and hand sanitiser available. One of the better Costas in the country.

Great little Costa, deceptively spacious with outside seating too. The staff always go above and beyond what's expected, even going to the effort of remembering what particular coffees we order. Great selection of food, including vegan options, freshly prepared and delicious. The local independents in Wootton really need to up their game to compete, there's really nowhere else locally that can beat them.

I often pop in here for a coffee. It's usually quite busy, however they are friendly and prompt with service. There is room to have small meetings here, although often full with bigger/ friends/family groups. Usual range of Costa food available - there is always good availability.

If you been to a costa they are all the same. Unless you are lucky there is always a queue. Plenty of seating. In summer it is situated in a square where you can sit outside.

We are OAPs who use this Costa most days. It is clean and tidy with clean tables and clean toilets. All of the staff make us feel really welcome, they could not be more helpful or welcoming. When the schools turn out and the mums bring in children from pre school the staff are great with them and know many by name. All in all a really great place for a coffee, cake and a cheerful atmosphere.

Asked why their overpriced Christmas drinks don't have fancy toppings like other Costa places, and they said they stopped doing it to save time. Except I was only customer in the store. More like putting up prices while giving less.

Lots of local businesses complain when a chain opens in Royal Wootton Bassett, but they don't put their money where their mouth is, as most local businesses close around 4 or 5pm. I wouldn't say Costa is the best quality food or coffee, but at least there's something open until 6pm in Royal Wootton Bassett. I don't like the big toilet though. There must be some kind of leak in a pipe as it always smells bad in there.

We are regular visitors to Costa in Royal Wootton Bassett. It is a well established coffee shop at the heart of its community. Staff are always pleasant and helpful and cope well under pressure. We have never had any problems with the quality of the coffee or the food, although we'd like to see more vegetarian and vegan options available in the future. Bring back the vegan mince pies please! We've never felt awkward bringing a laptop in, and there's usually a choice of chairs and tables inside. The outside seating is excellent, especially when there's live music in the square (brass bands last weekend!) We'd love more of that! The branch also benefits from a disabled toilet, high chairs, and a small bookcase full of second hand books for sale.

Lovely little Costa coffee shop. Tucked in just behind the hight Street at Wotton basset. Clean and tidy as they often are. I had a plesent visit with my teenage son on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

I go into Costa most days to meet up with friends. The staff now know what I am going to order before I say anything..makes your custom feel valued. In the last couple of months a new manager has taken over and everyone has said how nice he is..always cheerful. You can see he is backing his staff up all the time it's a real pleasure to go in there.

Popped in for an after school toastie treat and was blown away by the friendly staff from the manager to Baristas: Sophie and Evan, who took time to make us feel genuinely welcome despite it being a busy afternoon. Great suggestions of beverages and our food was piping hot and served with a smile!,,what a lovely escape from the weather and how nice to know that customers are valued as people and not just their spending power!

We’ve often enjoyed an afternoon visit as a treat but our last 4 visits have left us disappointed arriving at 3.45pm to find the cake shelves virtually bare. On each occasion we have left and gone to Dandelion which is better value anyway. Clearly since the staff takeover whoever is in charge of stock control is either incompetent with monitoring or is not prepared to offer a selection of cakes to afternoon customers. Our last visit was on a Friday afternoon so I struggle to believe that they have no stock in preparation for the Saturday morning rush. We won’t bother returning.
