The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

This is one of the hidden gems of Cambridge. The hospitality of the staff and the immaculate cleanliness of the restaurant wasnt the only reason we fell in love with Maharaja but also the exceptionally tasteful food we experienced. Once again we would like to extend our compliments to the chef and the staff, and surely we will see you guys again to taste one and only proper Indian restaurant in Cambridge.

Order a takeaway from here. Had to wait a little while when I went to collect it as the restaurant was busy, but I wasn't on a rush. The food was worth waiting for. Hot, delicious, and very tasty.

the main dishes were lovely. but sides were not great quality, keema nan missing filling and pakora missing the chicken filling!

Super Indian restaurant, which my wife, myself and our friends regularly visit for an evening meal. Large menu of dishes which are always nicely cooked. Excellent service from all staff. Very pleasant atmosphere in which to eat with friends

Lovely food and extra early so I didn’t have tip ready for driver, will make it up next time, please try and get Salmon back on the menu.

Just simply the best 'indian' restaurant in Potters Bar, been going there for decades and never disappointed.

I have used this place for many years , but I have to say the last 2 times have been disappointing! The biriani looked exactly the same as the mushroom rice , no flavour and looked like it was from the one rice pot yellow! The food was cold on delivery despite coming 20 minutes earlier than mentioned when ordering ! Definitely gone down hill , have they a new chef or gone a bit too complacent with their old ways of good food good management - but no longer is the case !

No longer the mayflower Indian restaurant, its under new management as a Bangladesh restaurant, wild ducks. Second night so a lot of learning on the job...... Food ok, tasty , with different foid offerings but rookie errors ie. Music to loud, Food not served at once, cold plates , lights very bright so lacking ambiance. However, staff welcomed feedback so hopefully improvements will take place . Pricing very reasonable in these inflationary times, sizzling wild duck and chicken Kathmandu particularly tasty. Will be back.

Curries are OK when a certain chef there bit hit n miss at other times

Best Indian ever. Food is amazing and staff so nice and helpful. Made us a special dish, nothing too much trouble and to top it off, excellent prices.

Food was cold when it arrived, chicken tasted old and really dry. The sauces flavourless. Very disappointed wouldn’t order again.
