Great vegetarian options. Everything was really tasty and tasted fresh. Very well priced. Best Indian takeaway I’ve had in Essex! First time ordering and will definitely become our local 🙂

Have used the Spice Hut for a good few years but thought it worth renewing our review Excellent curry, big portions, lots of food, great value for money Had a lovely chicken balti with extra chilli tonight. Was amazing! Special mention to the excellent staff too, always polite and helpful too, nothing too much trouble The only curry takeaway I ever use. Don’t hesitate!

We are at the moment working our way through their quite amazing menu. Yes there are times when it gets a little wrong, but, once told about the mistake they resolve the matter as soon as is possible. We have actually discovered that the take away from the Spice Hut is actually tastier than some of the more expensive Restaurants we have been to. It’s Friday/Saturday night, you want to relax with a great meal, you will not get better than a take away from The Spice Hut Rayleigh. My only regret is, they don’t have any of the numerous Indian sweets that would make the finish to my evening meal. Enjoy your Spuce Hut experience.

This used to be the best takeaway, but has been going downhill over the last few months. Possibly a victim of their own success, but still no excuse to regularly drop standards. Portions have consistently been getting smaller, the last meal my main course had 4 small pieces of chicken, less then a starter size. Sauces were missing, garlic naan with no garlic and most dishes either too hot or lacking in flavour. Emailed them directly and not even had the curtesy of a response. Given how much money and custom they have received from me over the years, that's a pretty poor show and sums up their decline. Won't be returning and disappointing to lose a valued customer

Awful! I've had better supermarket curries than this. Bland and tasted like it's been cooked in microwave. The nan bread was raw even the mango chutney tasted like mud! A waste of £40 as most of it went in the bin.

Just finished our takeaway and it was better than ever. I always have Chicken Tikka Masala which was lovely but my partner tried Chicken Tikka Sylhety Jalfrezi which he said was the best meal he had had for a long time. We have never had a bad meal from Spice Hut but tonights was awesome. Thank you.

We moved into the area few months ago and have been eating in and out every week. This was by far the best Indian we’ve had.

Came across this one by accident in a way. The takeaway I usually use is closed on a Monday so, as I was passing Spice Hut anyway, I thought I'd give it a go. Very pleased that I did as I've been here four times now and every time the food has been consistantly excellent. I guess the best thing I can say is that I haven't gone back to my usual place since finding Spice Hut.

What on earth has happened to my favourite takeaway. The food is soooooooo spicy you can’t even taste what you’re eating. Family friends always come to me for a takeaway as it was so good the best around. Now I’m going to have to eat fish and chips ! I have told you on the phone how spicy it all is and was told we’ll order mild. Did that still terribly spicy. It’s nit good. Only reason of two stars as delivery is fabulous and staff are so lovely. Food though for the last four orders (kept trying to see if just a bad night) is not for any of us. Please go back. Pretty please !! ;)

A friend introduced me to the Spice Hut takeaway around 7 months ago and I was so impressed with the food I had to go back. I now use the takeaway regularly and the food has never been poor or below standard. The staff are always polite and reliable even when the takeaway is busy and they are clearly rushed off their feet. Price is also reasonable, so if you like a good ruby murray you can’t go wrong with the Spice Hut. Strongly recommend to everyone.

We used the Spice Hut takeaway for the first time last night. All the food we ordered was delicious and the delivery service was first class. The order arrived spot on time by a very friendly courier. I would recommend to everyone.

A long delay getting food but once received it was very good. Need to be more realistic with pickup times.

Our first time of ordering a takeaway from Spice Hut. Definitely not our last! The food was incredible, superbly spiced, well cooked and with inspired ingredients not usually included. My Murgh chilli had lots of chilli heat, just perfect. My partner's dish had diced Bangaladeshi limes, so good! Lemon rice was a level up from the boiled rice with a few bits of lemon on top. This lemon rice was fluffy, full of lemon flavour and other ingredients that made it special. Highly recommend Spice Hut.

Never had a bad experience or meal. Dont order very often but always hot, fresh, very tasty food and quick service, collection or delivery.

Loved this balti. Chicken was so tender and juicy. Very impressed with all the dishes we ordered. Definitely back again soon!

Best Indian takeaway/not sit in, in rayleigh

We have used Spice Hut since they opened their doors. Their food has never faltered and the taste is like no other. Having lived all my life in the East End I was used to authentic indian food. How glad we were when we found a takeaway on our doorstep cooking food that tasted the same.

I made a very silly mistake and accidentally put through 2 indian food orders, each from a different indian takeaway (!) - one being spice hut. I explained what had happened and the lady that delivered our food was very helpful and understanding and she dealt with the problem quickly. They allowed us to pay for our order over the phone as we didn't have any cash, couldn't fault the customer service. Food from this place is really good too. Apologies for any inconvenience caused!! Will be returning in future.

What an incredible restaurant. Our first meal from here for a few years. Can’t wait for the next. The popadoms are incredible. The curry full of flavour. The nans are fluffy. Perfect!

Just had to comment after the food we had yesterday. Ordered over the phone just before 18:00 told there would be a 45 min wait - absolutely fine no issues with that..........18:20 food arrived 👍😳. Have to say one of the tastiest curries eaten in ages 👏🏻. Shatkora was spicy but had taste, the mixed tikka korai 👍, samosas, Nan, bhajis all brilliant. Lovely fresh flavours with sauces that were not heavy or gloopy - thoroughly enjoyed the experience so may just have to work through the menu😜

Have been using this takeaway for some time now,and have always been impressed by the cuisine. Must admit that i have tried others locally, especially during lockdown,but you wont beat The Spice Hut.Please contact them directly instead of using Just Eat as it is affecting this excellent business & we can't let it fall by the wayside.

This is the best for Indian take away food. Every dish I have ordered has been delicious,but my benchmark is a sag bhajee - perfect. Always deliver on time, the one occassion they couldn't I had a personal letter of apology. Such service is brilliant but the food speaks for itself. Highly reccommend.

We are lucky enough to have Spice Hut as our local Indian take away. We’ve lived close by for over a decade now and have tried many take aways in that time, but always end up returning to Spice Hut. Can’t beat it. Food is lovely and they are always very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Best around quality food.ordered special mixed jalfrazi large portion.tender lamb and chicken in great sauce. Wife had tandoori chicken chaslick. Great little takeaway.

We live within a very short walk of the spice hut. We have been using them for years but recently become disappointed with the quality recently. Upon ordering a meal subtle changes to the menu - 3 onion barges, instead of 4 and now having to pay for dips all minor things but enough for me now to decide not to order and to move to another take away. - So this is a general negative but not a specific review regarding a meal that evening.For whatever reason this has been done it appears penny pinching and squeezing the last penny out of the customer. We went to the Chutney Club in Hockley which I wil write a seperate review on. It was night and day regards quality and £53 lost by the spice hut and a regulary customer gone for a few pennies extra in profit.

Never had a poor meal during the previous dozen or so orders but boiled rice was very watery, tiny portion of chicken in the £7.25 Murgh Chilli Chicken and the Naan bread was a joke-probably a third of the normal size, ~5” diameter, doughy and undercooked. 25mins late, 1hr:35m for delivery but perhaps understandable in current climate- no criticism for that but really dropped the ball with the Chicken dish, rice and Naan. Other dishes were acceptable, no complaints there. Shame :(

Was our ‘go to’ Indian takeaway for years but last 2 or 3 orders have been really really poor, not sure what has happened, change of chefs? Produce? Chicken seems poor quality as does the lamb dishes. Avoid.

Food was cold and they sent a wrong dish, was passed around when rang to complain. They did send another dish, food lacked flavour and heat

Food did arrive late 🙄 but to be honest it doesn't matter as the food is so good , was my first time but definitely not last 👍

Food was cold, not even warm, not the same having to use a microwave for everything you've ordered . Arrived 15 minutes late, which is not the end of the world, however with an original delivery time of 1hr 10 mins, it was enough. The Bhuna was below average, probably the worst i've had from any Indian in the local area. I probably wont order from here again, which is a shame as we've had a lot of good meals from here in the past.

Always had nice food from here but this time it was lukewarm at best. Didnt have time to wait for another delivery due to kids needing to eat so ended up microwaving it.

The food quality was nice, however it did arrive late and some of the dishes were cold and had to be heated up again. I imagine my order was sitting on a table for quite a while before they actually sent it out for delivery. Still tasted good when I re-heated it so not end of the world.

Once again the bottle of drink forgotten so the driver toddled off to get it from the restaurant while we sat and ate our food with a glass of water each. Why is it so difficult to get an order right? I’m not asking for someone to perform open heart surgery, just to check the order and bring us what we paid for.

Got a leaflet with £10 off so decided to give it a go, especially considering how well reviewed it was. The take away seems really well run. Fast efficient service, well organised. From the 5 minutes I was in the take away I lost count of the number of delivery drivers coming in and out. So they seem to be doing something right. The food seems fairly priced, portions are generous. The food was nice but nothing special. Mixed starter and chicken tikka masala were both about what you'd expect from an Indian takeaway. Lamb anahari was a new dish for us and was a little disappointing. I wouldn't be against using again but at the same time won't be rushing back

The order was late and although it was only 20 minutes the food was barely warm. We had to reheat it in the microwave before we ate it. This has happened on 2 occasions now.

We have been coming here for a lot of years. Recently the food is not what is was. Very poor. We will no longer be going there, to The Spice Hut. Threw it away.

My order was late so rang. Got told my order has got lost somewhere and they will cook a fresh batch and deliver immediately. The girl was really apologetic and I understand as this is an extremely busy restaurant and never had any problems before as a fairly regular customer. The delivery lady was also so apologetic and sincere which made up for the hiccup. Thanks.

Very nice takeaway but add-on service charges and credit card fees are now making Just Eat expensive and uncompetitive. Getting greedy?

Recently moved to the area and my partner is fussy about his curry - it is the best we have had since we moved here and the best from any of the just eat restaurants so far! Food was amazing and the price really reasonably too! Will use again.

unfortunately my meal really wasn’t great, the coconut rice tasted way too sweet, as if boiled rice had a load of coconut powder thrown on top. the mains itself was so dry too, really unappetising meal. also arrived quite cold

This is a take-away restaurant ONLY, stating FREE delivery over £12.00. So when people are paying close on to £25 why the need for £1 delivery fee, plus service charge- not impressed, just lost another customer.

Food was of a very high standard and arrived 20 minutes early which was nice. Delivery girl was also easy on the eye!
