Food is the best in Rayleigh. Service is rude. I called the restaurant to check on order and they put phone down on me. I don’t know if I’ll order again.

Big portions im struggling to breath. I had a six pack now its more a 3/4.

Had a really good meal 8 of us celebrating my birthday. No complaints from anyone. Food came up exactly as ordered and was perfect as usual. I am very critical where food particularly is concerened, but have not had occasion to complain in the last 6 years of eating here. Waiting staff all call me Mr Roy and we have a laugh. No complaint with cost either. Very reasonable.

I've been a regular customer at this restaurant for three years since moving to the area. Generally, my experiences have been positive, except for a recent incident where I found a small metal shaving in my food and my samosas were missing. When I reported this, they addressed it promptly and offered a free meal next time, which was satisfactory. However, during my latest call to place an order, I was unexpectedly advised to 'order somewhere else'. This response from the manager/ owner was surprising, especially as a loyal customer who has dined and ordered takeout numerous times, and recommended their service to family and friends. This has led me to reconsider future patronage and cancel plans for a significant birthday celebration I intended to host at their venue. My family and friends will never use this place again(a lot of us), what a nasty horrible man.

The atmosphere was brilliant, and the service was impeccable. Lovely hot food and very tasty. Brilliant evening.Will be back in a few weeks time for my Birthday.

Bad service in my opinion. No interaction from the staff. Food was slow and served a table that came in before us and was also asked to move tables when we where eating and was given nothing for the inconvenience so all in all I personally would not go back..!

We live in colchester but only ever eat Indian food at mango lounge in Rayleigh. Its the best food around and customer service is second to none in my eyes. Well worth the 40min drive every time .... excellent

I heard great reviews about Mango Lounge so wanted to check it out for ourselves…Wasn’t disappointed in the slightest, everything seemed to be excellent from the service to the tasty Chicken Bhuna to the excellent Gavi wine. Really impressed and will definitely be back.

Heard a lot of people on the local Rayleigh FB community page saying this was a nice Indian so thought we’d drive over (Myself, partner and baby daughter aged 20mths) as we love Indian food and eat it regularly The restaurant is clean and tidy and our order was taken quickly. Popadoms were nice with the chutneys and salad which aren’t complimentary and total for them was £6. We had 2 soft drinks, 3 starters which were nice too but it was the mains that were pretty poor. I always order Chicken tikka vindaloo with vegetable rice and would say I know a decent one when I get it. This just wasn’t up to scratch! The rice tasted too heavily of cumin and the vindaloo was very sour which tasted heavily of either lemon juice or vinegar. I know the traditional recipe uses vinegar or lemon juice but it was over bearing and i ate half of it only because I was hungry. My partner had a chicken tikka bhuna with veg rice and she only had 2 mouthfuls and left it as it was again overly spiced with cumin. When the bill came, the total was £78 plus £7.80 for a service charge that we refused to pay. Not once throughout the meal did any of the waiters come to ask if our food was ok. Wouldn’t normally write a review but we know a decent Indian restaurant when we eat out and sadly this wasn’t one of them. If you’re looking locally for a good Indian, go to Indian diner or The Raj in billericay. Much nicer food. Won’t be returning to Mango lounge

One of my favourite curry house to eat in at. My missus loves their Salmon Tikka, I love my usual madras. A regular haunt of mine. Good food and good service.

Me and some friends are currently trawling the local Indian restaurants and rating them as we go, the Mango Lounge did not fair too well. The curry was very nice but the onion bhaji were very dry and tasted warmed up, and at the end of the meal it cost us an extra £50 on top of our previous restaurant, so beware, expensive!

I now always go here for my Indian takeaways. Food always excellent, staff very friendly. The ironic thing is that I always used to go to the Asiana, also in Rayleigh, which is also excellent, but I had so much trouble getting through to them - phone kept getting redirected to a mobile, which then wasn't answered anyway. So I had to find somewhere else and I found Mango Lounge. Never go anywhere else now. Although I only ever get takeaways here, I must say that the restaurant itself is very inviting and attractively laid out and, not surprisingly, busy. Unfortunately I'm the only one in my family who likes Indian food so I just have to content myself with takeaway.

Yet again the experience at Mango Lounge was exactly what we have come to expect. Excellent from the moment we walked in for our precooked 6pm appointment. The greeting was Hello Mr Roy from the staff, always good to be remembered from previous visits. We were seated without fuss and our drinks order taken. We ordered Popadoms and read through the menu which had some new offerings, while eating these. The starters were brought up piping hot and the chicken we had both ordered was so tender and tasty. The mains which we both tried were some of the new dishes on menu, we both loved them after tasting each others and agreed we could easily eat them again. All of the staff who don’t change on a daily basis as seems to be the case in other places we have tried, are really friendly but not intrusive when we were eating but quick to respond when we needed more drinks. We have been coming here since Mango Lounge Rayleigh opened, although we tried others in the local area we still rate this the best one since the Shadona shut down si always come here with family and friends. The Sunday menu is such good value. We paid £54 for 3 courses 1 glass of wine 1 pint Cobra and a glass of Lemonade, and the service charge was included. Try it you wont be disappointed. Roy Williams

Lovely meal and service as always

Really good food. Being in Rayleigh for business this week a group of us had a meal in the Mango Lounge after work. My go to Indian meal is Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi with mushroom rice. Honestly, I've been eating it for decades. I can honestly say, the Jalfrezi at the Mango Lounge was one of the best I've had. So good in fact, I had it again when we returned for another meal later in the week! The service was fine, nothing bad to report there, just lacked a bit of charisma if I'm being overly critical. After all, everyone loves an entertaining waiter and sadly the Mango Lounge is short in that department. But if all you care about is efficient service and great food, I can highly recommend them and would happily eat here again.

Turned up with my family for lunch for the advertised deal which was on their website and outside the front door of the restaurant only to be told the chef didn't want to work today so they weren't doing lunch.

Very nice food and a wide menu. Staff can be a bit all over the place reaching under your arm and in your face to get empty glasses, and prices are quite high but it's a good Indian restaurant. Midweek set menu price would be welcome.

Absolutely beautiful food, great portions, authentic thick very tasteful sauces, dhansak and pasanda, crisp hot poppadoms, perfect rice, naan and sag panner. 2 pints of cobra, 2 cokes. £64. Very friendly helpful staff. Great job.

2nd visit to the mango lounge with my two brothers , service was pretty good , all ordered starters and they was OK but small portions , main course arrived and was very disappointing, small portions and not a lot of meat in the dishes and quite a bland flavour ( dhansak) . Got a shock when the bill turned up £152.00 ! £6.50 for a large bottle of Kingfisher and £3.99 for a pint of tap coke! Dearest we have ever paid in any indian restaurant and the icing on the cake was they added a service charge! never had a service charge added to the bill in any indian restaurant. Back to Rayleigh Spicy far better food and nowhere near as expensive.

Had a quick bite for lunch while out for Christmas drinks, food was tasty and hot.

Hadn't been here in a while. Visited with friends hoping things had improved since last visit. Unfortunately the service was slow yest again and just not that good at all and when we did get our food eventually, it just wasn't that great at all. We'd decided to try as an alternative to the Saffron on the Eastwood Road - just for a change - but the Saffron is considerably better in every way. Shame.

Just came home from having a meal at the mango lounge. For a place as busy at it is on a Saturday night there were zero exceptions when it came to checking on each and every table multiple times to ensure that everyone had what they needed and that everything was up to expectation. The food was excellent and the portions also were extremely generous and the staff all were extremely friendly. We as a family will definitely be coming back!

It was our family's first time eating at Mango Lounge after hearing lots of very good stuff about it. Food: all food served was hot, high quality food which tasted amazing Service: polite and well mannered waiters who was attentive and very family friendly Price: reasonable priced, I'd say on par with most local dine in Indian restaurants We will definitely be retuning!

I have to say I’m not one for leaving a review especially in the current times that we are facing at the moment considering I run a business myself and the public can be difficult at the best of times but I’ve got to be honest if there was a 0/10 for its service has to be this restaurant the staff don’t speak English rude the food was cold we waited half an hour for to get incorrect first drinks everything about it was absolutely appalling Please avoid at all costs don’t think me and the wife will be trying Indian food for a while thanks again

First time here. It was a Saturday so very busy and being small quite noisy. But the food was lovely and staff were friendly. Price not too bad in the current climate.

Food was and always is a solid 10 out of 10. The Mango team are excellent, always very polite and accommodating, and the service is top drawer. Really highly recommend the Mango Lounge to anyone looking for a superb curry.

Oh my gosh! I wonder why I have never eaten in the Mango Lounge. We had a wonderful time. The food was divine.The services was both attentive without being pushy. We had time to eat through each course before the next was brought to the table. Despite being a Wednesday evening most of the tables were full.

Be very careful when dining in at this restaurant, as the there prices are misleading, a chicken korma on there menu was 7.95 but when we got the bill it was 10.95 they also added items we never ordered, and the one we did order they put down as specials when I questioned this they did I knocked some money of the price, but when I got home and worked it out it wasn't enough and that I have paid £23 to much, I have been cheated and I will not be coming back to this restaurant again

The upside: the food - incredible. The meats were all succulent, cooked to perfection. The curries were bursting with flavor, intense in their spices. The whole spectrum was available, from mild Tawa to scorching-hot Vindaloo. The downside: same issues as other restaurants in the UK, saag paneer with melted cheese unless you specifically request the cubed paneer and raita which is just cubes of cucumber in plain yogurt. Honestly, so far from Indian food it’s hilarious. And secondly, service was a little rude and uppity - as if they didn’t take us seriously and we were wasting their time.

5 stars for food! Experience tarnished by a horrible table of 20 loud and swearing men. Drove rest of customers out very quickly. Where do you start , as soon as you walk in your greeted politely and with a smile and by a welcoming gentleman , shown to your table in beautiful clean surroundings You’re never jumped on like some restaurants, you chose in your own time . The food is perfect in every way from presentation to taste ,the company of the staff is second to none and friendly and funny . I won’t be eating in any restaurant where I live because this little gem of a place is worth driving half an hour for Well done mango lounge 10/10 👌

Very inconsistent with Covid precautions. A number of people arriving for take aways and tables but not asked to wear mask despite new guidelines. Everytime we raised the issue with someone it was dismissed and the staff quickly disappeared.
