Pink Garlic in Basildon

I have my regular 2 Indians I go to in Wickford but since hearing great reviews about this place I thought I would give it a go tonight. I was actually excited to try it out but I was left really disappointed, first of all when I went to collect the chutneys were sitting on the floor for some reason? I asked the guy for my receipt which he replied saying I cant have it because he did not know which one it is? Which I found very strange.. When my partner asked about the 10% discount for collection he replied by saying only on cash orders but this is not specified on the menu. It is a shame that the curry's were also not very tasty because I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the jalfrezi was abit watery and had not much flavour and biryani also lacked flavour and sorry to say the bhajees were crispy but had to fillings.. The best part of the dish was the complimentary onion salad.. I don’t want to say bad things about the place but hopefully the management read this and take it as constructive criticism and improve on these points.

We had a chicken tikka balti and chicken tikka jalfrazy. Both meals were tasty and had different flavours (unlike other takeaways where everything tastes the same). Pink Garlic will certainly be our go to place for a curry take away from now on. Thank you.

This is my favourite Indian takeaway. I will drive from Basildon to Wickford to pick up my food or pay extra to have it delivered. Bangalore potato is great,hotter than bombay aloo. Tarka deal great. My go to is chicken tikka dhansak. I don't think you will be disappointed. Give it a try 5*

Worst takeaway we’ve ever had. Cold, watery, disgusting in every way 🤢 went in the bin. Also, was told 45mins delivery was nearly two hours. I don’t mind that so much but couldn’t even eat the food.

Phoned up and ordered our takeaway to be greeted by a very polite and friendly person on the phone who repeated our order to check what we had asked for and then told us what we needed to pay on collection. Our food order was for 2 people. The food was very hot, very tasty (as always) and we enjoyed our meal. We don't have takeaways that often but have gone to Pink Garlic Wickford over the years and have always found our food order exactly as we would like it to be. Thank you all at Pink Garlic Wickford.

This used to be a fantastic takeaway, sadly the place has gone downhill massively, my wife placed an order today for dinner, the young lady/teenager that took the order had to be told 4 times what was wanted, when I collected the order I told them what the order was to find and it was confirmed that that was correct, after getting home we found that it was incorrect, I called them and had to tell them 5 times what we had ordered and what was incorrect and had to return the wrong order to the shop, it then took a further 10 minutes to receive my refund because they couldn’t work out why it was wrong. I thought that was the end of it, then 2-2.5 hrs later I receive a call from the young lady/teenager stating they’re sorry my order is running late and it will be arriving shortly, after continuing to ask what ordered (it wasn’t me that ordered it) and what the address was I asked to speak to the manager who refused point blank to speak to me. I for one will never order from them again, any manager that refuses to deal with a concerned customer should no longer be trading.

Absolutely disgusting tonight normally OK been using for the last 6 years Chips were wet and soggy Onion bargey was very soggy.Normally crispy , no good tonght King prawn butterfly was really dry and Had very little prawn inside. Overall, the food was terrible a waste of £53 pounds. It will be the last time I use this Indian takeaway.

We have tried many local Indians but thought we’d give a pink Garlic a go seeing the good reviews on Facebook and was not disappointed we ordered a set meal and every bit tasted fresh and delicious! Thankfully we’ve finally found a decent curry house!

As always, food very good, on time, the Murgah Naga Chicken excellent. Only slight thing, not a criticism, but would slightly improve service. They always enclose 1 Papadom, which as a single, thin circle, is always BROKEN,Crumbs almost. If they enclosed complimentart even 2, then the thicken package probably would'nt break so easily. Nice gesture, most Indian restaurants do it, but hey Guys, its always broken in pieces.

Lovely fresh food and fair portions. I did have a couple of very hard pieces of chicken which was off putting but on the whole the meal was nice.

Great tasting food. I've had a few takeaways from pink garlic. I can recommend the bhuna, shatkora, Dhansak and dupiaza. Delivery or pickup available. Picking up yourself is usually quicker and cheaper.

We have used the Pink Garlic several times. The food is generally excellent. Delivery times are often quicker than published and the delivery staff are always polite. Food prices are good.

Having used this place plenty of times before, plus having had numerous curries from elsewhere over the years, really disappointed to say tonights takeaway was most probably the most bland flavoured curry I have ever had. And my wife was equally disappointed with hers too....

Efficent telephone customer service. Delivery in time frame given. Food, portions more than sufficient for amount ordered for and tasty. Price not cheap but not expensive and worth it. Would order again.

Disappointing. Chicken Tikka Massala was too sweet and had no cream in the sauce. Lamb Tikka Massala the meat was tough and not enjoyable. This is our usual Indian takeaway and every other visit we've had a lovely meal but on Wednesday evening this was not the case.

Bad service grumpy delivery drivers moan about distance to deliver and forgot onion bhajis on order called back to tell them. They told me to busy to deal with it. Emailed twice no refund or even an apology shame as food is good used regular won't be anymore found another Indian takeaway much nicer and polite.

Amazing tasty indian food, always served hot with the perfect balance of flavour and spices. The naan breads are deliciously soft with generous fillings. I have tried many of the Indians in Wickford and hands down this is THE best indian in Wickford. The special dishes taste amazing and I highly reccomend! New to the area and needed my fix of an Indian. Went into the shop after being recommended by a mate and was greated by a really nice man who was really patient and didn’t want to rush me to get my order (customer service high on agenda). I received my food really quickly and took home to be greated with a moist and delicious food that amazed me and my girlfriend with how nice it actually was. This has got to be the worst place to get an Indian from. I waited over a hour longer than they said and had to go and collect even though I asked for delivery. They said my food was ready but when I was here it wasn’t. Never will I come back again.

The Pink Garlic was recommended to us and I can confirm that it didn't disappoint! Very tasty, reasonably priced food and friendly service.

Walked in on an obviously busy Saturday night. Ordered a Chiefs Special and was out the door in 15 minutes. Bangla Murugh Shakira was as described. Free poppadom, mint dip, onion salad and a pesto which I didnt try. All delicious. Recommended.

This is my review for the last month of ordering here. My normal order still tastes as amazing as it always does, however I have found that the lamb tikka is getting quite chewy now and I'm not not having this meat at the moment because of it, and just having more chicken / sheek etc. The naan breads are amazing and so are the flavours and spices. The poppadoms are crisp, the pickles and sauces are delicious. Always pick up my food because you get a 10% discount, you used to get 15% but they made it less, they should go back to 15% to encourage more collection orders. Iqbal and the team work very hard to get the food out hot and fresh and in good time! Iqbal always holds it together well! I love coming here!
