The best ever India restaurant in Billericay there service was the best i have ever been to to in Billericay and there chips were amazing thanks from 4th Billericay scout group

The BEST Indian I have had in a long time. Super fresh and tasty (no over cooked onion bahjis either). A perfect gem of a restaurant. Staff happy and jovial too - HIGHLY recommended

Disappointed. I couldn't be bothered to drive to my preferred Indian (Nirvana in Ingatestone) so I ordered a takeaway from here instead. Very nice guy on the phone who said we can adapt any dish to your liking. I asked for some added.spice to my Madras and it was very mild. All the food was luke warm which was very disappointing. The naan was ok and the saag aloo was the best tasting thing I ordered. Only myself and my son ordered and it was almost as expensive as my usual order for 4 people from Nirvana. Unfortunately I think that we won't be ordering from here again and just make the drive to collect from our usual instead.

As always good quality food I always order from this restaurant/takeaway but I always know it's going to be great food

Recently moved to billericay, most important thing for us is a good local Indian as it’s my childrens fav! Tried one last week that was standard, this restuarant is top class, service was 100% from start to finish they were attentive and looked after the kids through to ice cream and ALOT of chocolates at the end! The starters and mains were the best Indian food we’ve had, my 9 year old boy is hard to please and was so happy walking out, we can’t wait to return already! Thank you so much to every member of staff, see you soon x p.s mocktails amazing too x

Staff are super friendly. Food is not knock out but reliable and if a decent standard

Quiet and small place. Bring your own alcohol which I wasn’t aware of before, didn’t ruin a very nice meal though. Staff were really good. Place can feel a little claustrophobic but had a lovely evening.

The lamb biryani was amazing!!! Ordered a chicken biryani the next day which was yummy too!

Ordered takeaway. Food was cold. Chicken in the biriani was very overcooked, dry, tasteless. Dish arrived with a tub of yoghurt (sheer laziness!) instead of a warm vegetable curry sauce seperate. Also, where I come from it has a fried egg/omelette with it. I didn't mind that it didn't have the egg but I will never buy from here again. The bhaji was so disgusting, it went straight in the bin. It was utterly tasteless, chewy and greasy, and likely been hanging around for a week- certainly tasted like it. I do not recommend.

Never again. Ordered food & two hours later & still waiting. Being Diabetic its important to eat regular. Have twice been told the food is on it way & another half an hour & no food. We were told it was cooked & ready to deliver over an hour ago. Now they say a mistake was made. We gave them 5 minutes more & thats it. What a disgraceful way & then to admit they lied to us twice as they made a mistake. They didnt even take the responsibility & I should feel sorry for them that it was just a boy that got it wrong. Our family will never order from them again. We are so cross we are unlikely to want the food. Its now 14 minutes since they said it was 5 minutes, so its not looking likely that we will get food.

Returned here for a 3rd time, early evening on a Friday. Once again, great food, fresh ingredients, really nice authentic flavour to the dishes too. Established itself as a firm favourite and will definitely return.

Spice king. One of my best favourite restaurant. Fresh and very tasty, and very standard to my needs. Will recommend everyone to come at spice king. Excellent service by Mr Ruhel- very happy team. THANK YOU TO ALL AT SPICE KING

2nd visit last night following a great first meal on my first visit. Went with friends and had the mixed starter which was incredible. Each of our main course dishes were brilliant, you could taste the ingredients The tarka dhall was also fantastic This place is BYOB so buy your drinks next door before entry. Highly recommend. A great meal!

Came here with some friends on a Friday night Service was a little slow but the food was fantastic. Tarek l, our server was great too BYOB here too, so really good value for money too Would recommend this place. We’ll be back

Wow what an amazing curry. we went here for a birthday and was treated great from start to finish. The biryani was especially good. Recommend to anyone for a quiet meal or a big event, the food and service is always brilliant!

First time ordering. The lamb biryani was awfull, there was no seasoning at all. It was completely tasteless, the lamb was chewy with no flavour. The vegetable curry was tasteless with no flavour. The prawn puri was nice taste, but the prawns were like rubber and chewy. The bread was good. Most of my food went in the bin.

Firstly I’d like to say I haven’t eaten here before an ordered based on recent feedback and reviews. I ordered delivery and it was prompt and on time a still very hot. The Masala wasn’t the best I’d ever had but wasn’t the worst either. The sauce was not oily at all, maybe a bit watered down and lacking flavour but packed enough heat and the chicken a little over cooked. The Mango Chutney was on point. That about all that was good. The sag Paneer was not at all to my liking i prefer it when the paneer is melted in with the spinach so it’s nice and creamy. That’s more on me than them. However the Mushroom rice ordered was so over bearing with lemongrass it was like eating lemongrass straight out of packet. Killed the rice completely. I ordered a Mix king PLATTER. Basically a mixed grill but whenever I’ve ordered platters before there’s enough to go around. This was more like a mix grill for one. 1 small piece of Kofta, 1 cube of chicken and 2 cubes of lamb ( the lamb was tough and stringy and lacked flavour) The Stuffed Pathara tasted like an old sock and I know that sounds harsh but honestly it I took two bites and the rest went in the bin but was hot on delivery. Finally and lastly Meat Somosa these were small and tasted like they had been a few days old, likely to have been heated. Food is great and staff has really gone out of there way to help me deliver food to my uncle locally. I call from the states and they always make sure he gets a full meal that is good quality, hot and fresh once received. Thank you Spice King! Great food, great service.

Wow! This establishment is great. It’s cosy and intimate, not overdone or trying too hard. I felt at home and really welcomed and the food was really good, no grease and full of taste. Worth a visit it even a take away.

This place went down hill a few years ago so had given it a wide berth. A friend said we should give a go again so went for dinner last night. The food was superb from start to finish, staff super friendly and helpful and I still love the bring your own booze format. The king is back on the throne, by far the best Indian restaurant in town.

Decided to try a new take away, this was worth it! BIG portions, lamb tender and very flavoursome!! Will be ordering again, free COBRA with delivery too !!

Helpful staff that can recommend the dish you want. They don’t serve alcohol but that wasn’t an issue for us as we could go to the pub later. The food was delicious and the waiter talked about the spices used and tips on how to improve our curries at home. Authentic music set the atmosphere. We will definitely be calling here again, when we are in the area.

Excellent takeaway the food was to die for came extremely quick I was pleasantly surprised aswell as being piping hot, driver was very friendly also will be ordering again.

Another lovely meal from Spice King! (Saturday 1st May 2021).From speaking to Rahaul on the phone with my order, to delivery, was excellent, friendly service. My meal consisted of mushroom bahjee (which is still the best flavoured I've tasted in a long while) mushroom rice and lamb jalfrazi. The food was hot and delievered safely. It was a lovely meal! Do not hesitate to go to Spice King if you want good tasting food with a friendly service!Sharon.

I have tried many dishes at Spice King and the Chef they have at present is awesome. The most delicious flavours with just the right heat. The “Best Indian Takeaway in Billericay by a mile.”

During the lockdown i ordered a meal from Spice King the first time ever, certainly not the last! (When I'm next visiting Billericay).I spoke to Ruhul over the phone, he was very friendly.I odered a chicken madras, to my strengh, medium, mushroom rice abd mushroom bahjee and popadums with mint sauce. I have just ordered and received a take away, comprising of Chicken Madras, popadoms spicy and plain, Pilau Rice keema naan and sag aloo. The delivery guy was masked up with protective gloves and left the food on doorstep. The food itself was piping hot, good flavors, the rice slightly clumpy in places but that's the only thing I can highlight as not so great and not an issue really. It was delivered within the time frame given. I would recommend it on my experience, the restaurant is good too, but not an option in the present times.

We ordered the food which was a take away, when it was delivered all the dishes looked the same the chicken curry was so hot we could t eat it! There was a shrimp I think it was shrimp curry that we did not order, when I called them Up to tell them that they didn’t care and just put the phone down!! The roti we ordered was not cooked properly.. and the overall food was terrible we will never ever be ordering from there again and that came to around £40 not happy 😡

Price kept reasonable as BYO drinks. Service good, small and cosy. Only criticism is that I found the curries we shared a bit "samey". Sauces similar. Veg dishes were fab. Would go again

Just returned home from a fabulous meal. Authentic and plentiful. The staff are very attentive and obliging. I would definitely recommend the spice king, best Indian restaurant in Billericay.

Dont waste your time. Ruined our evening. Kids at home waiting for us to come back with food. Loads of other people in the same position. If you can’t manage then don’t accept the order!

Told us if we picked up our takeaway it would be 25 minutes and we have been waiting 1 1/2 hours for our food in the car. Payed full price when we got there and then they only give us £15 discount for an order over £65/70. Not impress at all !!!

We had dinner here last week and found the food and service very good. To be honest, they were run off their feet but still coped! We would visit again as the food is good.

Very nice place.. attentive staff and fantastic food. No booze licence but a off licence upstairs that supplies everything. It's the best India I've had in a long time. Defo recommend!

Food was very fresh and tasty, service is very good. Restaurant is unlicensed so take your own bottle of wine.

After a long day, I didn’t fancy cooking so we ordered a curry! My chicken tikka madras was mostly sauce I had 5 bits of chicken, the sauce was nice but I do like to chew my dinner more than 5 times!! My other half had chicken korma, she was lucky she got 6 bits of chicken! And the rest in the box was all sauce! Totally unimpressed for the money will be going elsewhere from now on.

It’s never good when you spend £40 and think- ‘It would have been better and cheaper making the curry myself!’ Terrible service! Called to place an order and was told delivery was over an hour wait, however collection was just 30min. I drove to collect the food, arriving 35 minutes after ordering...I was then left waiting another 35 minutes until I finally received the food. Every time I asked how long till the food was ready I was just told ‘in a minute’. Very frustrating when I could see all the staff in the kitchen window standing around talking and doing nothing. Once I finally got my food, I wish I could say I enjoyed it, however the chicken was chewy, dry and fatty and the rice was cold and just tasted of onion, which is disappointing when i ordered it to be coconut. I do NOT recommend.

We went in to the Spice King on Saturday 20 January in person We spoke the the Manager to book a table for my wife and I for her birthday for the following Saturday for 7:30

After hearing good reviews about the food here, my partner and I thought we would cure a hangover on New Year’s Day. Fair enough we were the first people in at 5.30 but the restaurant was freezing cold and the decor was extremely mediocre. Our food order was taken and we had to shout across the drinks order after waiting 10 minutes to be approached by our waitress (only people in the restaurant). We were asked if we wanted poppadoms to start with which took a further 10 minutes to arrive, (along with chutneys which they also charged us for without us knowing). When the food did come it wasn’t awful but definitively over priced for the quality. Sad to say I won’t be hurrying back.....

Myself, wife & 3 children came to have Indian food, but did not expect this food to be this good. In fact not just the food, but the staff service that me and my family experienced was by far the best!

Food and service was amazing. Can definitely confirm the mixed grill was perfect for me and my children. The taste of the food was amazing and the staff had catered and accommodated my children. I would definitely recommend spice king as a place for family meals out and can gladly say I will be visiting again.

Not spectacular food but very good value (at time of review. Interior is always pretty quiet. Biryani's and specialty Curry's worth a try.

Just felt I had to leave a review as I love this little restaurant so much! Visited last night with a friend. Food delicious as always, with large portions. Staff friendly and attentive. we took our own wine as they are unlicensed but that’s no problem to us. We weren’t bothered by anyone despite the fact that we sat chatting for ages after our meal. Would definitely recommend. It’s only small so you need to book at weekends but usually fine midweek. Great for takeaways too. A real gem.

We had a Spice King meal delivered 2 weeks ago, by accident we ordered an incorrect meal, we contacted the restaurant, who were absolutely brilliant & although our order was already on its way, they then turned up 15 minutes later with the extra dish. the food is always top class, very fresh & the service is brilliant in the restaurant & delievery

Think they've changed owners, used to really enjoy this place. Curry came out like water and was tasteless, waited 30 minutes for the waiter to notice I wasn't eating my food as it was horrible. Shame as the poor waiter is run off his feet answering a really loud phone, running to the kitchen and controlling music which constantly cracks out. Don't waste your time or money. Ended up getting McDonalds after...

Went for a meal at Spice King and it was delicious!!!! I have been here previously and every time the food is amazing! Always brilliant service and highly recommended. It has become my favourite Indian in Billericay. Thankyou guys

If you want beef instead of lamb then this is your venue, but beware what you order isn’t what you get. Extra grease with every order and stale rice are the staples of this nasty establishment, avoid avoid avoid.

To be honest we do not go into the restaurant but have them deliver to us very often me liking Indian food. The food is very tasty, don't like their Onion Bhaji as it comes flat, tastes ok but just not good looking should be light and fluffy but it's flat and squashed.

First visit, I'd called earlier and booked but when we arrived no table was available. This wasn't a major problem as we sat/stood at the bar area having a drink.

I would highly recommend coming here for a meal, I took the family here and we all enjoyed our meal and service was top. It looks unappealing from the outside could do with a facelift but good food

Personally I think this is one of the best curries in Essex!! Their food is fresh and not bad value for money. If you order direct and collect their promo is 10% off! Really friendly staff. Highly recommended.

You could be forgiven for walking right past the Spice King due to its unassuming entrance but, once inside, you'll find a nice clean restaurant, tastefully decorated with comfortable seating.

The best vegetable Currys by a long way around,and ive tried them all. Excellent flavour and good produce!

Don’t be put off by the unattractive entrance, restaurant is located in the basement, seats approx 24 persons. Bring your own alcohol, food was exceptional, highly recommended

Went through a dodgy patch but have know got their act together and food much improved. Staff very friendly, efficient, food always hot and served on a timely basis. Take away great food easier to collect than have delivered.

Placed an order at 7 for 8pm restaurant said can they extend it to 8.20pm which was fine however I range at 8.40 and they said it would be 10mins rang again at 9.10pm to potentially cancel said it was on route got delivered at 9.25 .... for a takeaway that was ridiculously shocking Would really request a refund considering the service we have had thinking of not using the Indian and just app again

An hour and forty and then incomplete order turned up so driver had to come back again. Safe to say my first use of just eat will also be my last!
