Great experience, service and food was really great, nice atmosphere, really glad we visited for family birthday visit

The waiters and atmosphere is great but some vegetarian food does not come up to scratch. Namely the Tarka in dhall is more or less absent and the vegetable (madras) curries have mainly potatoes as the vegetable. Also instead of meat an easily obtained plant based protein could be used and then correctly advertised as vegan/vegetarian whatever is appropriate. Not one Indian restaurant I know of includes plant based protein as a meat substitute. WHY? as easily sourced from supermarkets.

This is the best Indian I have had for such a long time! We have lived in wickford for a year and half & im so gutted I didn’t find this Indian sooner. Absolutely 10/10 will be visiting soon to eat in for sure. Thank you

I have my regular Indian for takeout and this is my go to for when I like to sit in for an Indian. They do not let me down as the food and service is always very good here.

Used this restaurant a few times now when meeting up with mates. Food and service have always been good. They never rush you, and are always friendly.

Food: everything I have ever tried has been of a very-to-immensely high standard. Clearly the ingredients are of high quality, but the tastes of the finished products themselves are also lovely. My own recommendation is the Lamb Karaki (excuse spelling) and keema naan. Service: everybody is friendly, service is quick, overall the service is always exemplary Atmosphere: the decor is great, it feels relaxed yet special

Got to say, I have been attending Marco for years and every time we go it doesn't disappoint.. Never had a takeaway away (if they do one?) But ambiance, service and food is and always has been top..I've eaten in many restaurants and this always sticks in my mind! Only down side i/we had was it was quite loud with a few tables enjoying themselves, when we was there as a family..Not restaurants fault and if I was there as a couple it wouldn't of been a problem, just we couldn't hear ourselves talk 😆 Not restaurants fault! Would we go again? Of course! Next week hopefully!

Very busy on the Saturday we went, and parking is very busy in surrounding area. Lively atmosphere in quite a large restaurant. Exceptional food, good range and decent portions. As always, coke is a bit flat as in every Indian restaurant in England. Cobra on tap though.

First time at this restaurant it was a Tuesday night so a bit quite. The food was very nicely presented and good to eat. Hope to visit another time.

Food is absolutely best Indian cuisine around. Service is impeccable our waiter billy was amazing along with all the other team. We throughly enjoyed all our dishes and were not felt pressured at all. I would recommend to anyone!!

The Marco Polo really pulled out all the stops for us after another venue let us down for a birthday meal for my husband which was booked back in April. At very short notice the Marco Polo accommodated 17 guests and even helped with decorating the cake and decorating the table. The service was fantastic for such a large table and we were all amazed that the food was brought out at the same time, hot and delicious. The food is always fabulous no matter what you order and our guests all agreed. The staff were friendly, looked after us all, were helpful and kept the drinks flowing! Just gutted that I forgot to take a bag home for breakfast the next day :o) We had such a great night with our friends, thank you all so much! Cannot recommend this Indian restaurant enough.

Been going to Marco for years and every time we have gone, as a couple, with friends or family, the food and service just doesn't disappoint. Prices are good (although poppadoms and sides pricey at £7.90 for 4) . Was a tad loud last night but it was a Friday eve and bring in Wickford too it was expected, but it didn't spoil the food.. Would happily recommend and attend again!

Poor takeaway, not up to usual standard. Chewy chicken as if it had been frozen and not much taste. Disappointing as I’ve been a customer for years.

Come here at the weekend for a friend's birthday meal, food was excellent and catered for everyone's needs. Best Indian I have eaten. Staff are very friendly. 100% recommended coming here.

Had a take-away was the worst £30 I have spent in quiet some time the curry was very watery and tasteless, the pills rice was oily and half cold and the onion bajees were cold and tasteless won’t be going back anytime soon, this used to be a good restaurant 😩

Absolute fantastic place, great food and service, nothing was too much trouble, even though they were busy. their were 4 of us for dinner all had starters, main course and sides was very reasonably priced. Try the Marco polo special for extra special curry!

Despite indicating that they open for lunch and displaying an open sign on their restaurant window, they refuse to serve food on a busy Saturday at 12.30. Unwelcoming and disrespectful. Not recommended.

We ate in there early last evening (Saturday) and it was busy, BUT, the service was spot-on good and the food quality excellent. Got given "a drink on the house" at the end which was a nice touch.

Been going to indian restuarants with my family ever since i was little and never found a better indian than the marco polo. All the staff are so friendly and kind. My boyfriend had never had indian food before so we took him here for his first indian and for someone who goes to lots of places says marco polo is his favourite by far. Very nice friendly and nice atmosphere in the restaurant and couldn't recommend any more.

We always have lovely food and service when we come here. £35 a head, but that includes a fair amount of drink. Staff are always friendly and very helpful with your choices.

We go here at least twice a month. Everyone is very welcoming despite our bespoke requests (I ask for a spicy Korma - madras hot and it is delicious). The Marco Polo rice is a must great service and nothing is too much trouble.

I have just had the worst Indian takeaway meal ever ! Chicken madras , mushroom rice and a garlic naan . The chicken was tough ,in an extremely watery sauce .. no texture , hardly any flavour and the mildest madras I have ever tasted .. the rice looked like it had been scraped off the floor and chucked in a container , the naan was ok , nothing special . I won’t be back , £13-20 for we’ll below average food (I use the term ‘food’ very loosely)

The best Indian for miles, I've been coming since it opened 25 years ago, it's consistently been great, just love the food there, tried the others in Wickford just don't come near, I live in Southend now, still come up to Wickford for the Marco, keep it up please.

Nothing special pretty bland quite expensive. Very odd that all the chicken tandoori meals have the chicken minced up to mush no solid bits of meat weird! Not very nice like eating baby food. Would not recommend. Try the Bekash down the road

Since we’ve moved to Wickford, almost 2 years ago, we have had no need to order from anywhere else! We have never been disappointed by the food, either dining in or takeaway! Very nice interior and very friendly staff. I highly recommend the Marco Polo Special and the Butter Chicken 👌🏼
