Good not up to usual quality, dishes were oily and salty. I expect it’s a one off and back to usual standard next time.

Has this placed changed hands in the last 6 months? The keema nans always had red meat, now its brown and they stink like rubber and smoke. Inedible. After buying for 10 years I'm done.

The delivery was 15 minutes late, the biriyani tasted of nothing, the bombay potatoes were bland and it was stone cold despite only being 5 mins from my house. Do not order from here if you use uber eats as they inflate the prices and still charge for delivery even if you have uber one and the app says you dont have too. I rang up to ask why i was overcharged and charged delivery and the man on tje phone was rude and continously spoke over me Not worth 10 pound let alone the near 40 pounds i payed

Delicious food and lovely driver. Although the Just Eat listing said my curry would come with rice, it didnt. So that was a shame and something other customers should know so that they add on rice with their order.

Actually gutted, tikka masala really salty and tasteless, tarka dahl like water, garlic nann was tiny no garlic and under cooked and cost over £5 which is shocking! Mixed tikka starters weren’t nice, mint sauce for popadoms wasn’t nice and garlic chilli curry was really over smoked and charred tasting . Gutted even the kids didn’t eat any of it and they love Indian food. Won’t be ordering again

This is easily a five star meal! We had the set menu for two and the food was so fresh and hot and tasted really amazing. We both throughly enjoyed the meal so much. We couldn’t eat it all as there was so much. The front of house is extremley clean. The man who took our order was pleasant.

Won't be using again. The order was estimated an hour and was half an hour late. Requested a partial refund for the delay and was advised cause of weather was reason for delay. It was slightly raining.

My family have been eating from The Indian Chef for years and years. There are a few other Indian takeaways nearby but this one is the best. The food is so flavourful and there is a wide variation of dishes to choose from. My family particularly enjoy the variation of naans they have.

Delivery Oder from Deliveroo ! Loads of chicken sadly tasted bloody awful no spice and I struggled to recognise this as a curry ! I will be using bay leaf going forward £20 wasted!

Food was way too salty, could not eat it so the bin eat well tonight. I did ring Indian Spice and told them about the issue. The guy that I spoke to was very apologetic and offered a replacement, pity damage done by then. Nice Naan Bread

VERY expensive.. Ridiculously Tiny containers for a main dish. The smallest flattest naans in the world. 2 main courses, 1 boiled Rice & 2 naans £37!!!!!!! Child’s size meals. Will not use again rip-off

Delivery made within the specified time quoted. Only ordered for 1 person - curry, rice, naan bread, poppadoms and chutney. Small portions, a man would be disappointed. I had a king prawn dish, but you could not recognise it as prawn, king or otherwise. Very disappointing and expensive for what I received. Won't be using this shop again.

Food great and order arrived super quick

The delivery service was fantastic. Really quick. I ordered a lamb biryani, which was a lot spicier than what I am used to in a biryani. A little too hot for me. But that aside the food was great.

Bought 2 curry’s didn’t even taste like curry’s Soo bland with no spice or flavour basically tomato dishes from base gravy. Rang the shop couldn’t care less So disappointed Go elsewhere for a decent curry

I’ve eaten here since moving to Billericay 25 years ago the standard of the food and service has remained the best around having also tried every other restaurant and takeaway in the area

The delivery time was exceptional but the main reason I'm rating this restaurant so highly is due to the great quality of the food - this was one of the nicest Indian meals I've had for years and the food arrived piping hot with generous portions.

Simply the best Indian takeaway , have used Mr Ali's fine takeaway establishment for many years and never been disappointed with the quality of the food. In particular the Chef's special dishes are Delicious .Great tasty Indian food with a friendly service ,always my go to takeaway choice.

A great Indian takeaway. Portions were not too big and therefore no waste.

Was told on Xmas Eve that the takeaway closes at 10:00pm. When I called at 09:45 I was told that driver had gone home & the takeaway was closed. The owner is a rude little upstart. Pity it would be difficult for me to justify an order from these guys again.

I would say that this Indian take away is distinctively average as a take away, however the meal deals are such very good value which has pushed my rating from 3 to 4 out of 5. The Happy night meal deal is only £6.95 which is a real good amount of enjoyable food, even though it is perhaps a little reflected in the quality, but not bad by any stretch, so I might be a little disappointed paying the normal menu prices. The guys in there are real nice blokes and overall I would definitely recommend this take away.

Fair price fair quality takeaway

The tikka masala sauce tasted like spicy tomato soup and the onion bhajis were dry and hard. Lack of meat in the keema naan. On the plus side, the chicken was well cooked and marinated. The pilau rice with light and fluffy. Very friendly staff.

I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with a meal from here, always fresh and tasty. We're now veggie so haven't had meat dishes for a while but they'll adjust their menu if you ask. OK so the manager comes across as a bit grumpy sometimes -- I once heard him trying to convince someone to come and collect because they only lived round the corner -- but I think it's just his sense of humour. The food's great anyway..

Ordered this as a nice treat for my mother on mother’s day , said 1 hour wait , which is fair enough ! What’s not expected is a nearly 2 hour wait for the food , the food was freezing and needed to be heated in the microwave! Called up and the guy on the other end was not apologetic and suggested it was my fault for ordering on mother’s day. If I wanted to wait ages and heat up my own food I would of bought it from Asda ! Probably be a lot cheaper too ! They have lost out on my future patronage. Absolutely shameful service.

Disgusting . Just moved to the area and tried it as it was our closest and it was just bland; meat tasted cheap, i have picked up jars of curry from the supermarket that were twice as good and we had the lemon rice that the rice itself didn't taste of lemon just plain rice with chunks of lemon tucked in did not taste nice when you're biting on your rice and suddenly you are chewing on a chunk of lemon. Minging
