Popped in whist on business trip mid week. A warm welcome, attentive staff. Food was excellent. I got talked into getting an onion Bhaji by the waiter... they are massive. I was almost full before my main course so pace yourself. Nice place with a good atmosphere- thanks guys.

Went on Saturday night and was a great night. Food and service was 1st class. A great addition to Ampthill especially as Ampthill Tandoori seems to have gone downhill recently.

A lovely meal out on a Friday eve. We have had many takeaways from here but it was our first time dining in - the waiters couldn’t do enough and the food was delicious. We were even offered a free drink at the end; a lovely touch! We will be back.

We had a take away from this restaurant and had to write and say how delicious it was. We had chicken biryani, railway chicken, vegetable samosa, naan bread and Ali gobI. The samosa’s were full of flavour and the curry the same. Will definitely eat from here again. A visit to the restaurant may also be in order. I would definitely recommend this food to others. Best curry I’ve had in ages.

Lovely food, lovely service. Couldn't do enough for us. Quiet on a Saturday night so hope good people of Ampthill come and support this place.

Meal and service was outstanding. Free drink at the end of our meal was a great touch. Previously I wrote a review where I commented negatively about the layout of the restaurant, seems this has been looked at and its now so much better. The whole visit was pleasant and relaxed, great meal/evening.

On arrival I found that the waiter was attentive and spent time to see what dish I would off liked, even adding a few suggestions of what I might of liked . I ordered the meal which was a gun Powder. It was just right, not too hot but hot enough. One of the best Curries I have had in Ampthill full of taste. Onion bargee was good as well as the nan bread.

Great mix of old favourites plus unique dishes. All really savoury and made with fresh ingredients. Will definitely return. Nice modern space and friendly staff. The chicken livers were amazing as was the gunpowder chicken.

Very disappointing, had no flavour or any seasoning , just creamy , onion bhaji came in one giant greasy ball, king prawns had been killed twice , even the spicy poppadams were bland 😱such a shame as was really looking forward to trying it

First visit after re-opening. The outside has been updated but inside was underwhelming. There were some nice aspects to the decor such as the pendant lighting and velvet bench seating however, it almost felt as if only half the restaurant had been decorated. Elsewhere was plain and dated. The ambience wasn’t helped by the lack of music which left little if any atmosphere on a Saturday evening, despite the friendly staff. The mixed platter starter randomly included a cold Mexican style cream cheese stuffed jalapeño pepper which was odd. The rice was well cooked, but mutter paneer was bland. The chicken in our main dishes was cooked well and not at all dry, but the Railway chicken in particular lacked flavour. Wanted to love it and support a new local business, but sadly won’t be returning.

This is our "go-to" for treat nights, we've tried many local places since moving to the area 18 months ago and Grand India is the best by far

Amazing samosas as always. Fast and efficient take away service. Love the Indian desserts. Have not tried their dine in service.

Had organised a musical even at the Cochin restaurant Bedford. It was a set menu. We were around 24 people. I had booked this two weeks before. But on the day the chef said that they don't have the samosa chat (that was supposed to be the starters for the vegetarians). They served some other starters instead. The food was not up to the standard. The veg korma gravy was very thin and hardly any vegetables in it. The chickpeas and korma tasted the same as same gravy was used. No rotis or parathas ( bread) was served...which we had asked for. The appam served was sweet :(.. Disappointed this time for sure.

Food has gone down hill lately!! Lacking flavour and small portions compared to the past. Will be looking for somewhere else for my curry in the future.
