The Pilgrims Korai in Brentwood

Been renovated so thought we would give it a go. Poppadoms sent back 3 times as they were soggy and stale. Rest of the food was ok. Nothing special but edible. Bottle of Mateus was £20 which is bit expensive. Won’t rush back. Much better options locally.

I visited here for the first time and I liked the restaurant as lights are dimmed and comfortable seating in nicely decorated restaurant . The food was very nice like Chicken shasklik and Chiken Buna and nan so would definatly come back again .

Food was tasteless, very disappointing, and felt the waiters wanted us to leave as soon as we stopped eating. A catch up with friends and we wanted to chat but felt uncomfortably rushed out. First time we had been and defo won’t be returning

I was invited here from my friends from Brentwood, i normally eat lovely Indian food in Upminster. Anyhow my friends had moved near by so thought id try it out. Well, I wish I never bothered. Worst Indian food I have ever tried. Absolutely terrible, almost inedible. Please don’t try this place. Poor Pilgrims hatch people if this is what they have to eat.

Had a delicious meal the service was great selection of drinks good so stuffed when finished will definitely return Recommend booking at weekend as was really busy

What a shame. Have had takeaways from here before and food always been great. Came for dinner and the service was terrible! Staff acted like we were putting them out being there even though we had booked a table! Waited at a table almost ten minutes before being given a menu or asked if we wanted a drink. Waiter not interested or helpful. To be honest I found it really rude. Food was very nice but we won’t be coming back. A smile and a friendly welcome goes a long way! We wasn’t asked if we wanted a second drink or if everything was ok with the food. Like I say we felt like we wasn’t welcome and they clearly didn’t care about repeat custom. I’ll find another restaurant and take away from now on and give my money to someone who actually wants it

Service was great, very friendly staff Food was nice, good quality meat and very well priced. Could not ask for anything better, and outstanding value compared to any other local indian restaurants. Will definitely come back.

Always used to be a great curry with top service however recently really hard to get through to them and orders taking over 90 mins when you are told they are an hour or less.

Tried to ring both numbers on their website to order for collection as they’ve been my favourite takeaway for a while, was on hold for an hour (ringing multiple times) stuck listening to the same song on repeat with no answer. Won’t be wasting my time and will be ordering from elsewhere next time

First time we had been after living in Brentwood for almost 15 years and hearing lots of good recommendations. We weren’t disappointed! The service was great especially considering all the Covid-19 protocols in place. Nice atmosphere and tables good distance apart. All the food was super tasty and expertly cooked and we will definitely be returning.

Don’t miss this place, out of town, opposite the black horse, great service all the time. Been coming here for 16 years, always great.

Chicken biryani was awful , so dissappointing . The takeaway near the co-op is far nicer . The Vojans not bad either .

Well, Pilgrims Korai. WELCOME, To the ClarkyBoy16 Hall of Fame.I walked into the restaurant with nothing but smiles and Joy awaiting me. The staff was excellent, and told true tails with their eyes. We began with the classic popadoms. Now, as some of you may know by now, Clarkyboy16 can be a fussy little Minion. I asked for extra chutney. And that’s exactly what I received.I mixed it up on the mains. I went....drum roll please....ROGAN JOSH. The dish was perfectly cooked and the flavours took me back to 2008 when I saw the famed artist, Pink, perform tracks at the Milton Keynes Bowl. Sensational. I recommend the pilgrims korai. It’s an experience.Pilgrims Korai, Clarkyboy16 gives you his seal of approval.

Amazing food the best to authentic Indian food you will get. Not just the food it's the music and atmosphere the best customer service from Tuhin he was such a pleaser to deal with. As we were leaving Mabs was so polite when it comes to conversation and building the rapour with customers and polite when it comes to the bill, most people shuv it in your face this guy was a pleasure to deal with. But I have to say Tuhin gave me and my crowd of 6 the best customer service you could ask for Food - 10/10 Customer service - 10/10 Decor - 10/10 Music - 10/10

We moved to Navestock a year ago and have had take-aways form here several times. Having been a fan of curry hoses for osme years, find this particulalry good. plenty of flavour without the use of the food colouring so often seen to turn everyhitng bright pink or yellow.Service is good too.

Went with friends who visit regular, we haven’t been for a year or so.Booked table... only table available so full.Service excellent very friendly, food was tasty and good portions only exception was my husbands chicken tikka dansak, (which he has every time and is a expert for that dish) he sadly didn’t enjoy.he said that dish was too sweet and not enough spice.Finished meal with chocolates and a complimentary baileys and brandies.Would visit again but would mention about dansak

I went there with some friends for what I expected to be a nice flavorsome meal. Sadly my expectations were dashed as every course was bland with a distinct lack of wonderful Indian spices. So, so disappointed!

Food great asked to spice up the Veg curry with mixed grill perfectly. Cobra on draft, great after dinner mints and very polite staff. Well priced too 😬

We went to the pilgrims korai for the first time,we had booked it.out table was waiting,we where seated immediately. Beers and popadoms shortly followed.we ordered a variety of dishes.the food was good.the service was polite and fast.prices where reasonable.i will go back..only let down...not offered a drink on the house.....

Have been going to the restaurant for years. Meals are always of a high standard and the ambiance is excellent. Asked for a suitable accompaniment to our meal and were given Tarka Dhall. This was a superb choice. The staff are very friendly and welcoming as always. Tuban and colleagues thank you for your excellent service.

A very well established curry restaurant which I can recall for years. Was taken here by a family who livd locally as you know they will look after you, be accommodating and serve up lovely food. Nothing fancy dan about it. A very typical menu. Extremely attentive waiters as you would expect. Well priced and if you need it, intimate for a couple (there were a few in as I’m sure there is most nights).

Decent if you like your the chicken as tough as a pair of old boots. Total toilet complete waste of time.

Love this place, Staff can’t do enough for you, Service is always great, amazing food and the chocolates you get with the bill are the best chocolates ( I have a sweet tooth ) :-) my boyfriend and I visit on a regular basis and always leave saying how lovely it is! It’s perfect for a quiet meal or date night, see you soon!

Tuhin, very good service! Me and my partner come in all the time to get takeaway and sit in. Dad loves it here so I’m always driving up to collect. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for a Indian. Brilliant food would recommend to anyone.

Always good food and helpful when choosing a dish. Nothing to much trouble and reasonable priced. Can get very busy on weekends and tables are close together but a busy restaurant is always a good one.will be returning.

We eat at Indian restaurants quite regularly but this one is top of the list. Consistently good food and very friendly service. Maybe we go too often as Tuhin has the drinks arranged as we sit down! Definitely recommended.

Have been to a lot of Indian restaurants but this restaurant I can honestly say was top of the list. Food has amazing flavours, the onion bhaji was not full of oil and has an amazing flavour. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be returning and recommending

We ordered a takeaway meal but the got the order wrong, fair enough, anyone can make a mistake, so after ringing them we drove (only two miles) to get the corrected order + apologies ......got home & found it was the wrong order ! Gave up & will NEVER give them my business again.

The food was magnificent, and all the waiters were delightful. I have been here many times and it's never failed to disappoint. One of the naans were a bit wet, however they gave me another one free of charge. I would come here again.

Have been meaning to try The Pilgrims Korai for months and I'm so glad I just have. The food was excellent. The onion bhajis and naan were the best I've had outside of India (and I've been there several times).

Went here for Mother’s Day and it was superb. The food ,the service , the ambiance everything was fabulous. The restaurant was very busy both with the meals within and also with the takeaway side. I was surprised how good this small local restaurant was and do hope to go again soon excellent value for money.

We’d prefer to give the restaurant a 4.8 as the decor was lovely the staff so friendly & helpful and the food plentiful & tasty. Not 5 for a very personal reason, we’d have liked a bit more flavour & spice, but definitely no complaints

We always get our takeaway from here and trust me this is the best in Brentwood! Please try you will never have a bad one.

This Indian restaurant serves authentic Indian food- we had Kadai Paneer, Gobi, butter chicken and fish bhuna- every dish was amazing, loved the customer service. The staff give attention to detail, if there are any issues, they swiftly sort it out.

This is very local to us. In fact we are neighbours. This is my second visit. Lovely food all round. Nice table and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

Been here for takeaway a few times and usually good. However last night was a huge disappointment. The food was luke warm, poppodums were greasy and smashed up, chicken tasted strange and this morning both myself and my husband have visited the toilet on several occasions already. We will be looking to try a different Indian in future.

I was looking forward to going to this restaurant having read the reviews but sadly was very very dissapointed. The restaurant itself is very small and we were put onto a small round table and 4 seater, there were 6 of us. We could barely move, when the food arrived we literally had nowhere to put it. I think that they try to cram in as many people as possible! We had already opted to have the set menu as we thought that this was a better option for the price as the food here is quite dear. It took nearly an hour for the waiter to take our orders and even then we had to attract his attention. We asked for Coke which was £1.90 for a very small glass and on top of this the coke was flat! The food arrived and was frankly quite dissappointing. The portions were not great and for the money it was not what i was expecting. Food was quite bland. I normally eat at an indian in Theydon bois and also in Collier Row. The set menu there is cheaper and there is much more selection as in you can pick your own dishes. In this one the courses are already set. I personally wont be going back again. It definitely did not live up the hype.

Went there after reading the good reviews Waiters where really nice lovely clean restaurant nice atmosphere to and lovely table clothes very good service Food...fresh food if someone asked me I'd say not the best curry iv had but certainly not the worst and I'd definitely go back enjoyed being in the restaurant I'd give it a 8/10

I am a Brit living in HK. I manage to make a 1 time annual pilgrimage to UK and always ensure that i include a visit to The Pilgrim Korai.The food is cooked perfectly and the owner cooks it to my instructions. There is always great service with a smile.Probably need to book on a Friday and Saturday as its always busy on those nights.If you live in the Brentwood area then its definitely the Indian Restaurant to visit.

We were visiting the nearby (not so!) Secret Nuclear Bunker which closes at 4pm so wanted somewhere near to eat early. This little restaurant opens at 5pm and although not much to look at from the outside, the staff are welcoming and the food freshly prepared and tasty.

Been to this place several times in the years, got to know the owners. Curry's of a good standard (not the best I've tasted but certainly not the worst) and service even better! Pretty cheap for what it is to, good night out with friends especially as there's a pub opposite to meet at. Give this place a go.

Excellent food. Good service and a really good menu. Lots to chose from. Atmosphere is really nice and comfortable. Would definitely book again. Not an overly large restaurant so it is a good idea to book as it gets rather busy.

Although quite small, this restaurant is well set out and you do not feel crowded in. The quality of the food is always good and the staff are very pleasant and helpful.On one occasion, my wife asked for a glass of Ouzo, which they did not have. Rather than disappoint, the manager went to the nearby off licence and purchased a bottle so that he could serve her .... now that's service !If there is a down side at all it is the take away service provided as there is no separation from the sit down restaurant and it's not always pleasant, when you are dressed up for a night out, to have people in and out all evening in track suits and shorts, sitting there waiting for their take away orders.However, they have no option as there is no room for a separate take away and you can always ask to be seated away from the door.Atmosphere is always good, very friendly welcome and service and you will not be disappointed.

Restaurant very busy when arrived 7:30, have been a few times before as 1 couple of friends it's their local Indian, never reviewed before on TA before.Food always tasty, my husband said best chicken tikka damask in Brentwood, but on this visit it didn't live up to it, meat dry and sauce over sweet, little spice he didn't enjoy.Although mine was enjoyable wonder if different chef ?The service is always friendly The restaurant was empty by 10, so would book if going early evening Restaurant does do a takeaway service which is very popular

Having started a new job in the area recently I decided to try all the Indian restaurants in the area to find the best, this is the 3rd having sampled the Heath spice and the Raj recently. The reviews were good on this restaurant but I was left disappointed. I had sheikh kebab starter with Chicken shashlik, sag paneer and keema nan. The kebab was tasteless and so had to glam up with separate yoghurt sauce, the chicken was over cooked, small cubes and very dry... Not seasoned well so lacked the tandoori taste. Whilst I was there I noted that another chap at a separate table sent a dish back to the kitchen. Service was good and prompt, however the manager in charge had a rather bad cough and I noted he coughed without washing hands on numerous occasions so this was not great... Note to owner not to have staff working when poorly!!! Overall, Dissapointing but I'm sure they have had better nights.

Having been here numerous times both for family meals and friends meals, the staff are fabulous, and welcoming and so so lovely! we always enjoy our meals and have a lovely experience, would recommend this to any curry lover!

The selection and quality of the food is excellent. It's a small restaurant that also has a takeaway so it can become very busy. Very good service considering the number of people the staff are dealing with. We visit here regularly. The only niggle would be a lack of parking.

I have eaten at the Korai many times over the last 11 years. Food always good, best available in the area. Bit pushed for space. Good friendly staff and service. Only niggle is that the gents toilet is always awash (every visit) Reasonable pricing.

This is a top rate Indian restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere. It is run by real foodies who take great pride in producing consistently top notch food and service. We are regulars to this restaurant among many others who we recognise time and time again. It is our top favourite, we love it... Always book first so as not to be disappointed as it can get very busy.

4 of us ate here on a Wednesday night which was suppose to be banqueting night. On the website advertised at £10.95 per person. When we got to the resturant and after ordering the food we was told that it was actually £11.95 per person. Didn't mind this considering the amount of food we had. My chicken tikka masala was very watery! Like soup!All the other dishes we had were nice. The spinach and pumpkin sag was very nice! (This was a new dish)The cokes were all out of a family size bottle (like most Indians) and were flat.And aswell we had 4 popadoms each and chutneys and was charged £5.70 for them! When I queried this they said popadoms were 0.70p each and you had to pay for chutneys! For a midweek meal that was suppose to be cheap turned into a quite expensive one. To be honest we only went here because of the banqueting deal but we won't be returning!

Went here the other day. Food was pretty awful to be honest. I have never seen a buttery king prawn starter like it, deep fried in breadcrumbs and more breadcrumbs than prawn. Then had a vindaloo which came with watery gravy like sauce. The vegetables were ok. Service was really slow also. If I owned a restaurant I would be on top of that kitchen, and would be giving the staff a kick up the butt!
