Highly recommended. Really excellent food and outstanding service. Great to see some menu items different to the usual choices. Don't let it put you off that there are no descriptions of the dishes on the menu! (though I would recommend the owner addresses this and includes descriptions in the future, as it makes it easier for the customers) - the staff are very knowledgeable about the ingredients and can tell you everything you need to know. We had a wonderful evening - fabulous food and superb service; the staff were so professional and polite, and also proactive - you won't sit with an empty/nearly empty glass for long, as they are on the case and asking if you'd like another drink! It's a shame more restaurants aren't as proactive... Also, it's the only Indian restaurant we've been in for a very long time where they top up the pickles/chutneys you get with your poppadoms - it's this attention to detail that really enhances a dining experience. We nearly didn't go to this restaurant as their website is out of date, and there were no recent Facebook posts; however, the hosts of our B and B had highly recommended it, and also the TripAdvisor posts were very encouraging. Fabulous job guys! If we're ever in Long Melford again, we'll be back!!

Our take away was excellent quality with an emphasis on Bangladeshi dishes that don’t find their way to most menus. Portions were generous and our order ready at the time given for collection (25 minutes after ordering early Friday evening). Highly recommended.

Long Melford has been crying out for a decent Indian for years now, so we booked a table at the Onion Bhaji as we've heard good things from family and friends. I knew that the owner came from my favourite Indian resturant a few miles away, so I had high hopes! We received a warm welcome from the host on arrival and were shown to our table. The resturant itslef is small which is simply a symptom of it being situated within an old building but it is decorated nicely. The menus are an exact copy of the aforementioned Indian a few miles away, which is no bad thing, and the drinks and poppadoms arrived quickly after ordering. For main I ordered the Balti Lamb Tikka Massala with a Garlic Naan. This arrived fairly quickly and piping hot despite the resturant being full. The food itself, put simply, was fine (although the Naan was rock hard and tasetless) and the main reason for the three star review. There's just nothing to make the food standout and in my opinion was bordering on the side of bland, and this was the consensus amoung the rest of my party. I will visit again if even just for a change of surroundings from my usual. The Onion Bhaji does take the top spot for Indian resturants in Long Melford, although the competition has not made this a difficult achievement.

Our takeaway was absolutely delicious. My Haryali Chicken was one of the best I have tasted. We would definitely order from here again.

We had booked a table and we were about to order when we were asked to move because a larger group were about to arrive. Being polite we moved next minute they put another couple at the same table. It was unorganised. I know people change their mind but it really put a damper on the evening. Food was fine

Big shout out for a take away I had from here a few days ago, a chicken curry (pordanishi ??) lemon rice, poppadum's, bread and a cauliflower bhaji side dish. Collected my me got 10 % discount , they deliver locally for free. Cost £23 . very reasonable I thought . Good service , good non greasy food, better than the Melford Tandoori at the moment ,at least . Thank you Recommended .

We had a delicious meal delivered on time. I would recommend the Dhansak, one of the tastiest I have had. Next time we’ll sample the restaurant itself.

Called in with a colleague and the poppadoms and pickle trays took some hammer before the main courses arrived. Colleague said his biryani was fine, and my jalfrezi was the same, fine. Marks off the the mutter paneer which was fairly poor, but the keema naan was top notch.

Fantastic restaurant and fantastic food cannot rate this restaurant enough you would not be disappointed look forward to our next visit

We don't often have takeaway as we prefer to go out. Our food was delivered in half an hour, (Wednesday evening) . Absolutely delicious! Couldn't fault any of our king prawn and vegetable dishes.(we don't eat meat) Each dish had a distinct flavour and was very tasty.

Just had a fabulous takeaway to share with the family. Placed the order and it was ready to collect Within 40mins everything we ordered was there all clearly marked up and tasted superb.. 10 out of 10 👌🏻

Had a very good meal here on Thursday night, had some different dishes and could not fault the food. Restaurant was busy and as the small town has 2 Indian restaurants within 100 meters it has to keep up the standards. The service was good, but functional, would not class it as really friendly which is only reason its not 5 star.

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered and expected the usual eta of 45 minutes to an hour..... 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door! We were nervous to say the least, but it was hot, well cooked and delicious

We sat at our preferred window table. Poppadoms and drinks were quickly served as we browsed the menu. Calm, efficient service brought superb food bursting with amazing flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent food as always from the Bhaji, and it is worth noting that it is actually a Bangladeshi restaurant, not an Indian (they are two different countries!). Superb food in excellent surroundings! Paul - The Mill (Long Melford).

This the best Indian I’ve had in a long time. This is simply because of the service which was amazing and the food was spectacular, lots of flavour, no grease floating on top of the curry, tender meat and very good naan bread. Overall I...

We were recommended to try the Onion Bhaji and thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. The food was delicious - plentiful, good quality and excellent service. We would return if in the area.

Went for the Sunday buffet today and I have to say it was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and the restaurant was super clean and the food was delicious .will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to family and friends .
