First time ordering from here! Absolutely fantastic food! So good it deserved a review! 😋

The food was piping hot with generous portions and a great taste.

Ordered keema rice was gristle in every mouthful and the portion size has got a lot smaller but more expensive not great at all

We picked up the takeaway without any issues. Onion bhaji were small but very tasty. My main meal duck Kutlan which is supposed to be a medium curry, had very little taste other than salt. Lemon rice couldn't taste the lemon. Other family members weren't particularly impressed with their main meals. Other all I wouldn't go back.

Ordered several times and every time food has been lovely

Ordered take away for delivery at 5.57pm, delivery was 60 mins. Called several times speaking to young lad who was taking orders and fending queries, last call at 20.01 finally spoke to owner who over talked us continually saying look outside probably there now, no offer of compensation or goodwill gesture. Food finally arrived at 20.20 and was luke warm, will be going to Zaynab in Capel or India Villa in Hadleigh in future as obviously loyalty counts for nothing. people skills are zilch,,

Cold food, didn’t taste nice - very bland - previously had good meals from here, but not this time

Been a regular customer since it first opened and been quite a few times since the new owners took over but tonight was absolutely ridiculous ordered online turned up at the correct pick up time was told it be a few minutes. I understand there were other customers and it was busy but Its stupid that I was waiting for 33 mins to collect when people were walking in picking up larger orders and getting theirs within 10 mins absolutely annoyed and to be honest the food wasn't the nicest when I finally got it. Spoke to the guy about why it was late he did apologise but the wait for 4 items is just stupid especially when you've pre ordered and I arrived 25 mins after I actually ordered.

Food was cold when it finally arrived and chips were soggy and the chicken was only just cooked so didn’t want to eat it. We’ve ordered from here before and it was good but this time very disappointing.

Ordered on line through just eat. Delivery was changed once after 2 calls to the restaurant meal turned up over 2 hrs after ordering it.

Beware if you try to order online you are promised 30% reduction for a delivery but then bizarrely the price suddenly becomes exorbitant and unless you are vigilant you will pay min £10 extra, then you think I will phone through a delivery order promises promises and another attempt at charging extra once you've ducked those scams the finale YOU WILL BE TEXTED BY THEM asking if you need extra poppadoms or corrections on order and it IS PREMIUM RATE ie £1.50 a received text plus your reply and a thanks from yourselves at the end just cost you min £4.50. I have the facts, copies and proof BEWARE THIS PLACE ARE TOTAL CROOKS and they have card details GET NEW CARDS PEOPLE

Our food arrived late, we have had this before, but this time the food was disappointing, normally we don’t mind if a bit late, because the food is always good. We had a wrong curry, Prawn Starter was cold and only one prawn, as was our mains. Also yoghurt pot spilt all over our mains. Very disappointed.

Ordered food at 6.30pm to be delivered at 8pm. Spot on time and absolutely delicious as always. Highly recommend 👌

3 star i rate is average..the boss hired a chef awhile back that i have never seen prepare a dish as quick and tasty ever..the boss is an awesome chef but that chef was on another level and thats the truth...u had the best in suffolk by far there now u back to average again.

Called after 1.5hrs, guy said sorry & put the phone down! When the delivery eventually arrived, it was missing a main & a sauce, waited another 20mins to rectify, other main course & nann was cold on arrival! Put in a complaint.. Zero compensation offered! Not even as a gesture of good will! They will be losing out on £120 pm from us!! Appalling service!! :( v.disappointing!

Over an hour late, lamb inedible, missing part of order and when asked to speak to the manager for a refund for the missing order was met with rudeness! Don’t use

I did like to support Mother Indian as it is responsible local to me. 2.5 hours to deliver takeaway tonight. It’s not the first time it’s taken so long. I think I will give up using them with such poor delivery service.

Ordered at 7pm for a 8pm pickup, wasn't ready until 9pm. Got it home and discovered that one of the curries had chicken in (thanks, I'm a vegetarian) and one of the naans was missing. Never again.

Ordered here before for delivery and it's always been slow. Decided this evening I would collect in the hope it would be a bit quicker, ended up sitting inside for an hour waiting with multiple other people who had to keep asking how much longer their food would be. While waiting the lad on the phone (who is very polite) took multiple calls telling people their food was on its way, he was also telling customers collection would be half an hour. Very disappointing.

We had an excellent takeaway from these guys tonight, we all had chicken tikka in our curries…Ceylon, Korma & masala and they were all excellent. Great service & excellent food!

It was late but absolutely no problem at all because they called as soon as I made the order to tell me. Most companies just arrive late with no communication. Nice to know they’re busy! First time ordering and we will definitely be back, delicious!

I don't like leaving a poor review but I was very unimpressed with our meal tonight, my chicken tikka peshwari was completely bland and tasteless with no heat and full of onion, the chicken pakora were burnt and like concrete and the naan bread was black and burnt, my wife's fish peshwari was full of onions. Very disappointing when you've been looking forwards to it all day and very hungry!

Mean with ingredients..plenty of sauce with ceylon but only 5 small pieces of chicken.Only 4 king prawns in jalfrezi and bulked out with loads of onions. First time ordered and very disappointed.

I visit mother india all the time (regular customer) & I must say the food is excellent however last night I ordered a takeaway delivery @19:15 & didn't receive my food until 22:45 that's a 3 1/2 hour wait & totally unexcetable, I will now have to re-heat the food today as it was far to late to eat at that time of night, not happy 😡

Popped in on my way home, first visit, just a last minute decision had the most delicious chicken korma, bhaji and naan. Quick service, plentiful and a great price very friendly staff will definitely be retuning

Food is always such a good quality and always arrives piping hot. Orders are usually on time. Even when they are delayed, the restaurant rings to let you know which is always highly appreciated. :)

I've ordered a takeaway from here many times based on the extensive range of curries they offer and also price (when ordering through their own website, not through Just Eat). During lockdown & 2021 the food was a little greasy/watery, veggie dishes were almost all potato with not much variation, & delivery was very very slow. Now in 2022, I order online as usual & food arrives with a smile, nice & hot, & typically within an hour which is an okay time to wait considering the 10-15min travel time. Food quality has improved greatly. I've yet to find a curry I don't like & can recommend the saag aloo, passanda & garlic bhuna.

Very disappointed with my one lonely broken poppadom, I know it’s always a mystery how many will turn up, but I feel 99p for one broken poppadom is taking it too far. I guess that’s what you get on a Sunday service these days.

Best indian i’ve ever had. Gave us some free scran too and rapid delivery and knew exactly where to go in a hard location. Delivery guy was very professional. Thank you we will definitely order again.

Delivery driver was polite and called to say food was going to be late. When food arrived it was horrible, stone cold, and chewy chicken. Tikka full of onions but just unable to eat as it’s stone cold.

Lovely food, Best Indian takeaway I've had in a long while. Only thing I marked down for was the chapati I ordered was just a tortilla wrap grilled and folded 🤦🏽‍♀️

Food was great, the driver tried to change the time of the delivery and seemed annoyed at me for ordering it at a time he specified to be a time they deliver at on the app. He also did not come to the door he called me and asked me to open it because he could not find the house despite the number on the wall.

Always use this takeaway - in capel st mary. Food consistently hot and fresh, good portion and menu options cover all tastes. Good value for money. They do get very busy at peak times - if you can collect it is much quicker. Am also aware they have ongoing issues with Just Eat so avoid ordering via them and call The mother India directly. Would highly recommend overall

We order once or twice per month from Mother Indian and it is consistently good food. We've tried different dishes from the menu and always enjoy.

Massive improvement!,A few months ago I was really disappointed with the food here it was watery and oily so we didn't order for a while.thought we would give it another go today we ordered for 7 people and every meal was beautiful! All 7 of us were amazed in the difference nothing to fault at all we are very happy customers!!! And will definitely return! Thank you.

This place is a disgrace!!! We ordered before 7 o’clock and still no food at 10.15 despite multiple calls telling us it’s coming - can’t seem to use simple postcode - don’t use

Ordered today (2nd october) - at 6.15pm - estimated delivery at 8.15pm. Not 10.15 pm - still no food - and now Just East say we have been refunded - so they have just cancelled the order. Absolutely useless - these guys have been good in the past - but never again - must be under new management - horrible service.

Always use this Indian as our go to, unfortunately tonight we called to chase up our order and got told they were 3x over their capacity for orders so everything’s a bit late, we didn’t mind as always enjoy the food. When the food arrived and we sat down to eat it, we had been given a chicken korma instead of the chicken jalfrezi we had ordered, unsure how they can be mixed up..the chicken was pink so didn’t feel too confident eating it, and just over all it wasn’t to the usual standard. Gave up with the idea of an Indian takeaway in the end and made own quick curry as didn’t want to wait even longer for a correct order to arrive as the delivery driver also said how manic it was. Unfortunately I think quality over quantity should have been remembered as we love this take away but tonight they were obviously a little out of reach by accepting to many orders. Hopefully next time it’ll be back to it’s usual yummy standard and we get the right dishes! :)

I ordered for myself & children & took 2 1/2 hrs to arrive . Only to be offered 10% off or order again & get discount next time! No thank u! Ordered before & that was an hour 1/2! Onion salad ! Chunks of onion! Nam bread burnt ! I advise you to go further afield awful food awful service .

I can only assume this is under new management or a new chef or something.. been using takeaway since they started.. first takeaway for about 6 months and the quality and taste of the curry has significantly reduced.. gone from an exceptional curry to an average one.. still ok but not what it was.. delivery was quick.. driver was pleasent and price is good but it just feels like it is missing something now.. shame

We loved the food, however charging 99p for a single and stale poppadom really let it down and was cheeky to charge for it. Since realised many others have reviewed the same so should’ve checked first. Next time will just ensure we have our own pack of poppadoms at home, other than that everything else was lovely.

Nice but prices are a little punchy and so ia delivery at £5! Also dont bother with the poppadoms. They literally gave us one! Quite disappointed and cheap of them really.

We have had food from Mother India many times and it's always good and so is the service.

Very nice BIR food, curry was lovely with a fantastic depth of flavour and layers a real testament to the time spent on the base gravy. The rice was perfect and the popadoms crispy and fresh... only minor criticism would be that the Nan could do with an extra minute in the tandoor as was a little stodgy and could of done with a crispier edge but that’s personal preference. Waited over 2 hours for the food to be delivered. Was told their delivery driver didn't turn up, but we were never informed, I would have collected if we were told. Food tasted great, but had to warm it up because it was luke warm at best. We ordered poppadoms and got 1 which was stale. Really, really disappointed. I have always enjoyed the food from Mother Indian, but delivery times and lack of communication really lets it down. Will go else where from now on.

Can only assume that a change of ownership has taken place as Mother India was one of the best takeaways i'd ever used, now its pretty much appalling, food took over two and a half hours to deliver and was poor quality, some dishes were cold and needed re heating, such a shame but wont be using again. Our last two meals have been similarly poor

Horrendous experience. Ordered food at 5.20 was told it would be 1hour 10 minutes. After 1hour 45minutes rang and was told it was out for delivery. Said new driver didn't know the area. Called again still told same thing. It arrived after 2 hours. Food was cold had to reheat it. Poppodoms had gone soggy. Worst Indian we've ever had

The food was ready at the exact time we were told to collect to. The meat was hot but the rice and the potatoes in the saag aloo were cold. We are only a five minute drive from the takeaway so would not expect it to be cold.

Great quality food and grateful that they deliver to rural areas.
