Ordered the India Villa Special Massala but it was possibly the worst curry I have ever tasted! It had no flavour and no spice at all! I will not be ordering from here again!

Had a lamb dhansak tonight as a takeaway and I was sorely disappointed with it. There wasn’t the usual kick of spice/hotness in it at all in fact it was very bland more like a very mild curry! Did someone forget to add the spice?!

A shocking experience! Do not recommend! Atmosphere was awkward and food horrific. We sent our main back because the sauce was lumpy and the pineapple was so sour it made it inedible. The server then proceeded to say it wasn’t his fault the pineapple was dodgy and the chef shouldn’t have used it but we were ultimately in the wrong because we were being unsympathetic to the fact he was the only server in the restaurant and he can’t please everyone (there were ten other customers the whole evening). The server was aggressive in tone and rude. It’s unacceptable for staff to be raising their voices at customers in the middle of the restaurant after we politely asked to return our food. We were then ignored for the rest of our meal and dealt with in such a rude manner it completely ruined the evening.

Another lovely place to dine in Hadleigh really friendly and great service never had a bad meal here well worth visiting.

Really excellent food. Best Indian I’ve had in a very long time. Better than Bristol, better than the ones in Colchester. They cater to your spice tolerance too. I love spice so asked for extra hot and they delivered. I come from a spicy background and was pleased when I found this restaurant. Had flavour, herbs and spices. Recommend the chicken twawa, lamb vindaloo (hot) ,Rajistania chingri (hot), Brinjal Bhaji, Chicken tikka Naga

We asked Chef Ali for recommendations of what to eat. I ate the most delicious Dum ke Gohst, à lamb dish. My fellow diners all enjoyed their meals too. The portions were very generous. I should have asked for a doggy bag. chef Ali was very cheerful and welcoming when we arrived with out booking. He remained attentive and good natured as he ran between kitch and restaurant apparently doing everything with just one person helping. We look forward to returning.

Excellent service, food is outstanding

I went tonight to meet some friends for a long overdue catchup, the food was amazing and the service was second to none. We had a lovely relaxing evening chatting and eating. Thank you to all at the IV.

Ts some years since my last visit,but was delighted by excellent service and warm welcome as a wheelchair user I wass very pleased at how accessible the restaurant was the menu was extensive with a mixture of familiar dishes and chef specials.. there’s much to explore which I look forward to to discovering on future visits. The service was very attentive and I have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant a few years back it didn’t have a good reputation but things have clearly changed.

I’ve given up using this Indian. I’m local and 75% of my takeaway deliveries are incorrect. They have changed owners 3 times in the last few years and the new ones are the worst. Service in the restaurant is slow/an effort, given naan that had sat in something wet, bill was incorrect on many occasions. They have put prices up and it doesn’t reflect value or good service. I won’t return and I tell others the same

We had booked the Christmas Day Indian buffet that was advertised on a poster in the restaurant window. When our party of 7 arrived we were told by the waiter that there had been a change and they were serving a traditional Christmas lunch with an Indian twist. We were given the option of turkey, beef or chicken. We were all disappointed that we were not having the Indian buffet that was advertised but didn’t want to make a scene in front of the other customers. We were not offered an alternative to this. When the food arrived there was no Indian twist, other than eating it in an Indian restaurant. When another table of 6 arrived they were clearly happy to make a scene and were then offered and served individual curries of their choice, this just compounded our disappointment. When the bill arrived we were charged £40 per head, not the £30 that was advertised. After a debate, and being forced to provide photographic evidence of the original poster with the price on the bill was amended. Quite how the owners thought that serving a traditional Christmas dinner would be a good idea is beyond belief, we could have cooked this ourselves at home for a lot less than £30. Having had personal text conversations with the owner, I am now told the poster advertising the buffet had been put up my mistake. Why didn’t the manager advise me of the change of plan when we made our reservation. This was going to be something different for us to do this Christmas and the whole experience from the meal to the resolution that has been offered has proven to us that they don’t do what they say they will and they don’t care that customers are not satisfied. It’s also taught us a lesson, if you’re not happy at the time, don’t be so bloody polite and make a fuss. We won’t be going there again

Ordered takeaway and each container was only circa half full. Food tasted “watered down” so not the rich vibrant tastes I was expecting. Menu choices are great but didn’t quite live up to expectations - ends up quite expensive for what you get.

We regularly come to the IV and have ordered the same thing on many occasions however today we ventured out and chose a number of different dishes. Needless to say we were not disappointed, the food was sublime. The recommendations from the staff were bang on and we will 100% be ordering this exact meal again. The staff are always attentive and personable and make the experience at the IV extra special. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The new employee who answers the telephone and takes orders is absolutely lovely. Extremely polite and efficient. I am only writing this review as although the food is always top, the service over the telephone has historically been pretty bad. Please thank your new employee for making this service better than it has ever been. I was reluctant to order again after the last debacle but I will certainly do so now. Lewis.

Very disapointed we are regulars pre covid and have continued to support weekly with take aways over covid Thought we would pop down eat in instead Service long menu totally diffrent food not up to standard. Small Stone found in curry itself And was tackled rudely on way out for not leaving a full service charge amount although we paid for are bill. My wife and I enjoyed a terrific meal here yesterday evening. Being a Sunday and early evening I was expecting an empty restaurant, but I was wrong. There were dozen other diners already eating. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who showed us to a table. The service was very calm and efficient and the food was excellent. I tried a Jawa chicken chilli curry as I had never tried one before. I cleared the plate. Well worth a visit.

Exceptional service and food. We used to come here before lockdown but left due to poor service and cleanliness. It has definitely turned a corner and we enjoyed every minute of it tonight. We’ll be back.

Disappointed with this place. I know it’s difficult times but it’s a very average curry house. Toilets need a complete refurb as does the inside. I can put up with that if the food was outstanding but it’s not which tells me the kitchen is probably not in good shape either. Staff are nice enough though but place needs investment. With continued poor service from the other popular Indian takeaway in the town, we have started to give IV a go and we wish we came here sooner. Ordered to pick up on numerous occasions and we're never disappointed. the guys on the phone were very friendly and the food is always brilliant. Makes a nice change considering some of the awful experiences we have had elsewhere previously.

Absolutely disgusting, both myself and husband found hair in our food, my curry was cold and my sons korma , did not look or taste like a korma. Really bad service and extremely rude.

What a shower of s**t. Ordered food online. Admittedly haven’t done so for a few months but I’m absolutely appalled. Firstly I stated I wanted the delivery at 8pm (this is an option on their website, not just me being particular), but it turned up at 19.20. Secondly we were missing two items from our order. We called to make them aware and was told I would get them in 15 mins so our food went in the oven. They called back 10 mins later and told me it was too far for them to bring the two items and told me they would give them to me FOC another day. (How that’s FOC I don’t know). I gave alternative options of refund or to deliver them. I’m currently waiting for either to happen and haven’t tried any food. Let’s hope what they did manage to deliver is better than the service and poor excuses. Last time I’ll be ordering from them.

The interior is in bad condition, the waiters rude and making inappropriate comments. The menus had food sticking the pages together and when the food came out it was below average. The waiter carelessly tipped the dregs of my husbands first beer into his fresh second beer and tipped it all into my husbands food. He just stood there and stared, awkward and unprofessional. We will not be returning!

Probably the worst Indian I have ever been too. The restaurant was dirty the menus had food stuck between the pages. The waiter tipped beer on my plate and didnt offer to replace it. I asked for my meal to be deducted and they only offered a £2 discount !! 1 star is very generous

Every three months or so 6 of us buy a take away from IV and us chaps collect it but also enjoy some onion bajis and a Cobra beer each first. The service and the food is always very good.
