Rathiga Restaurant in Luton

First time at this since it came under new ownership and the food overall was very good, plenty of choice including the traditional curries ,rice and Naan..etc but I would recommend the South Indian specialties including the Dosa's, well worth a try. Nice casual family vibe and quite popular

The food, ambience and service were top notch in this restaurant. It is a hidden pearl in Luton and a must try for anyone yearning for authentic Indian cuisine in the UK. The variety of the dishes are amazing while the rates are very reasonable. We were a group of over 15 people and tried quite a few dishes like the Stuffed Mushrooms, Salt and Pepper prawn, Cheese Dosas, and a few others, each of these were so delicious that we couldn't stop with just one round. Their bar is well stocked as well and caters to the best Cocktails, Shots and regular Beers and Scotch. Extremely professional and efficient staff as well made our experience worthwhile. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a chilled evening out with great Indian food.

The food was outstanding. Super fresh and delicious !! We were a group of twenty both family and friends and every single dish and drink that we ordered was very delish. Excellent service, very kind and friendly staff. Hats off the best indian food I tried in UK.

cosy atmosphere , had a three course meal. So delicious, after a very long time had the opportunity to taste the real authentic south Indian food. Highly recommended. Top notch.

Amazing food and variety. Offered both South Indian and North Indian options cooked really well! Has a wide range of flavourful vegetarian, jain and meat options - we thoroughly enjoyed.

Proper Indian diner, great service and advice, however the medium spiced dish was hot so be aware stick to mild if you want medium.Dosa was very good as was the biriani.

The ambiance was so perfect. Food was amazing,we had a best south Indian meal and also north Indian dishes . Service was wonderful and the staffs are so kind, attentive and accomodating ,it made us so comfortable to enjoy food. We all enjoyed your delicious food ( especially chicken mayapur and devilled prawn 🍤 and panneer masala dosa), Totally it was an excellent meal before an evening..

For many years this restaurant was the home of The Alankar - probably the best indian restaurant ive ever been to. The Rathiga had a lot to live up to - and didnt disappoint. Friendly staff and a superb menu , this most certainly will not be my only visit here. Enjoy.

Service is diabolical Food is not exactly even good Food comes as its cooked some guests had to wait 20 mins Than dosa comes flat soggy dosa when we ordered crispy dosa Sent back Naan was dougy and soggy uncooked Sambal was cold when its meant to be hot Fish curry was oily Absolutely shambles Don’t bother

A bit shambolic in regard to service. Food very average. Some unhappy with surprising amount of spice in mild dishes. Lady in charge (I think) was kind and empathetic. Personally, I would not return.

Had a meal before an evening match at Luton Town. The restaurant is a short walk away from the ground. We were served by Mani, who was friendly, very helpful and efficient. The food was really good - tasty and with spiced flavours instead of some of the more standard curry flavours that one gets in some Indian restaurants. Try the dosas. We shared a masala dosa as part of our meal and it was particularly good.

Good atmosphere, great variety of south indian food and lovely staff's and friendly and made us feel welcomed and love. Will definitely go again!

Excellent food. Very friendly staff especially Noor. We had lunch- dosa idly. The Devilled chicken is worth trying. Parking onsite for 4-5 vehicles.

The food was delicious and service great. The best dishes we had were the gobi manchurian and fried mogo. Food took a bit long so best to order everything in one go rather than starters and mains.

We had NOOR as our server she was amazing 10 out 10 service . The food was extremely good but the daiquiri could be better they need to add strawberry daiquiri to list and know that daiquiri is made like a slush puppy not just a regular rum and juice drink

Formerly the fabulous Alankar, this is a poor successor. The two stars reflect the friendly staff and the extensive drinks choices. The service is slow, inconsistent and chaotic with wrong dishes presented and dishes missing more than once during one meal. We had 3 different starters, 3 different mains, 3 different naans and once rice. None were better than on OK. One starter was presented with the sauces missing until part eaten; the mains one had so much cumin the chef is either lacking taste buds or doesn’t check their Masalas before serving; naam breads, one missing and none to the standard previously provided by the 2 sets of previous owners’ rice satisfactory - certainly had better. The rice had to be chased twice. Price average. Parking difficult. Used to be a regular - a group of 2,3, 4 - 6 of us; we probably wont be back despite friendly staff.
