Cafe Shimla in Luton

Is Café Shimla closed down or something, there's no answer and they appear closed?

The food was absolutely beautiful! Lamb tikka Jalfrezi was perfect and the chicken tikka masala was perfect. Not one single fault with this restaurant. Best Indian that I’ve had in a long while. This will be the place for an Indian always for me now. Thank you for the lovely food Cafe Shimla and amazing customer service!

Unfortunately the beef in both dishes must have been cooked and reheated as it was like rubber

I phoned up to ask where my food was and they told me to wait another 10 minutes. The food was delivered almost 2 hours after placing the order

Nice Tandoori Chicken. Lamb Madras a bit chewy, nice tarka dall. On the whole a very tasty meal.

We did enjoy the food, however we had to heat it up in the microwave as it was not hot on arrival. Also there was so much oil that had spilt outside of the containers within the bag, that even just trying to serve the food was extremely messy!!

Food wasn’t all that. Keema naan was a bit dry and the tarka dall was a bit off.

Best takeaway in Luton bar none. The Murghi Massala is amazing, and even choosing a dish at random I don’t think you’d be disappointed. Great staff, very friendly. Try them once, you’ll order again!

Was given a delivery time then it changed as they needed more time .Then it was 10 mins later than the second time given . We have ordered from here plenty of times , altho it was very tasty it was very greasy. Disappointed

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. DO NOT EAT FROM HERE IF YOU DON’T WANT FOOD POISONING. Me and my mum ordered butter chicken and as soon as we had the first bite of the chicken we knew it wasn’t right, it tasted like fish and was all watery like it had been frozen and defrosted. It was absolutely disgusting I couldn’t eat it. I have been extremely ill since eating from here as I’m pregnant I went to my doctors and they confirmed food poisoning and the specific bacteria is from raw poultry meat.

Very nice place & staff, food excellent. Only 2 stars for atmosphere as we were the only ones eating it was very early on in the evening. I'm sure with more people there the atmosphere would be great 👏👏

Food arrived before expected time and piping hot. Excellent tasty and reasonably priced food, would highly recommend this restaurant. They catered and delivered a request for a mild curry, been a long time since this has happened. Will now be my go to indian take away restaurant.

Was all juice and no meat never again

Food wasn't great, got a bad belly. Food has gone downhill, this place was my favourite, not anymore.

The food is quite good as a quality, but in my vegetarian dish I had a big piece of bread, two portions of potatoes, a portion of cheekpeas, and a portion of rice. Plus three portions of actual veggies. Now, there are 4 types of carbs in big quantities in the same dish... I couldn't finish everything, even because I don't enjoy potatoes + bread + rice. Of course I paid for the entire dish - too much considering the content - , but consumed less than a half. I strongly suggest to better study the nutritional value of that dish. Perhaps with meat you are more lucky, and mine was an exception on the menu. I'm afraid I can judge only what I eat. Also, they forgot the fork and knife first, and then the spoon.

Bhuna great but bombay potatoes were a sludgy mess.you used to do them so good,whats happened?

This food was so delicious. The portions were great. I wish I lived closer to Luton so I could order all the time. I can't say anything negative about this food! Thank you for such a lovely experience!

The salad was old and two prawns for the price they charge wasn’t good value for money. Chicken tikka also tasted a bit old. A shame as they’ve always been my favourite in Luton for more than 20 years.

I have a brilliant time every time.. I have been going here since it opened. The only thing is sometimes we get the chef that makes the food more tomatoes rather than a hot one. Love the place

From the excellent pickle tray to the well cooked traditional British Indian restaurant fare, Shimla meets expectations.

This place has gone downhill...I ordered a lamb tikka madras and it tasted like it had gone off...The chicken biriani had no chicken in it...The only thing good was the naan bread...Will not be returnng

Food tasty as always,but quantity was much less than last order!!

I ordered the tandoori mixed grill and butter chicken nan and mushroom rice. The butter chicken was inedible my daughter picked out the chicken but didn’t enjoy the sauce it was far too sweet and too buttery. Not how butter chicken is supposed to be made. The rice didn’t have much flavour and again just tasted of a lot of butter. The meat was dry on the mixed grill too. Not sure that we will be ordering again. Thank you

Never fails to disappoint as always

The Egg fried Rice was burnt and smelled awful and tasted worse and was basically inedable and the Chicken Tikka Masala chicken chunks were hard

Food utterly disgusting, bland as water. Nan bread the side of the palm of my hand with solid stones inside. No spice or flavour only in the masala which with overpowered by cinnamon. Awful food shouldn’t be served to the public. Worse Indian I’ve ever had. Needs massive improvement.

Normally I order a chicken dish and the sauce almost fills the tub. This time 4 small pieces of chicken and only half the sauce . Bit disappointed.

This place has great Indian food with high value for money, what with current inflation, keep things as they are, including prices/discount.

Good value (with discount) & excellent quality food

One of the curries spilled out all over the bottom of the bag and transferred to other food...making a right mess. Not good trying to scrape some curry from the bottom of the bag to make a meal. It arrived over 1.5hrs after ordering...poor service today.

As ever, fantastic food from Cafe Shimla. It was the first time for my Mum having a curry, and she loved their Kurma.

Good old fashion curry house. Lovely food good portions and good selection. Service was attentive , this might be due to the lack of occupied tables. Fish Bhajee was delightful

Tasty food, hot and right on time!

Disappointing delivery time and food temperature tonight. Took 50 minutes from message to say food was on its way despite being only a 5 minute drive! Tried to call restaurant several times for an update but no answer and no response to request an update via app either! Some of the food unsurprisingly was cold when we got it!
