Dildar in Luton

Came 20min faster. Food was really hot… really tasty and the cartons were full.

Madras had no spice and was very oily and was luke warm along with the rice, such a shame as dildar is normally spot on but seemed to of lost its consistency recently

I’ve been buying for 35+ years and love the food. I’d give it 5* if they would put back the egg instead of the cucumber.

we always come back here ☺️ we occasionally try somewhere else but the flavour and quality of food at Dildar just tops the bill and prices are always competitive . 5⭐

Delicious food however, the biryani came with tasteless cucumber in place of the egg which was advertised (again). Please give the option to have egg (traditional) or the cucumber.

The chicken tikka in the sag was a little dry as though it had been cooked previously and reheated. I wanted to go with chicken tikka biryani but they’ve exchanged the egg garnish with tasteless cucumber but was sure I’d be disappointed.

This restaurant is great for family birthday celebrations . We were made to feel very welcome . The food was lovely . And served reasonably quickly . I would highly recommend this restaurant

Still no egg in the advertised Biryani. Two slices of tasteless cucumber (instead of three last time) and the amount of chicken reduced. I don’t mind paying a bit more for more meat. On a positive note, it was tasty!

Ordered at 19.15 finally arrived at 21.20 Food was like warm

Nearly two hours to receive a takeaway. To be told four times four different ETAs. I understand business can be busy. Honesty with the customer should be at the forefront, food wasn’t hot at all, the sauce was warm with the actual chicken cold. Delivery was nearly 30 minutes late. Will not order from these guys again. Such a shame.

First time been and I have to say it was lovely. Food was amazing. Service was brilliant and so welcoming and friendly. 100% recommend.

Order took 1 hour and 30 minutes when it was supposed to be 50 minutes. We also had mushroom bhaji missing from the order as well as 2 poppadoms

The Bedfordshire curry tour continues with the last of 3 restaurants in close proximity at Sundon Park. Whilst external appearances don’t look fantastic, once inside the restaurant it extremely pleasant, clean and well decorated. There are some booths which are nice change from rows of tables. Having had a horrendous experience at one of the other close-by restaurants, we were hoping for a good result at the Dildar… ….and wow (!!!), did we get it! The food was simply superb! I selected the usual onion bhajis for starter (which are always the ‘test’ dish) and they were excellent. Homemade, tasty, nicely spiced and not at all greasy, which sadly many are. Yum! Main courses were just as fantastic – heaps of taste and not greasy or all the same ‘base sauce’ (which we have found elsewhere). The waiters were attentive, pleasant and helpful – again a very nice change from some restaurants we have visited as part of the tour. The only minor negative is that the restaurant was busy due to Christmas celebrations, so there was a fairly long wait for the main course. This was understandable as there were a lot of tables with but parties of people. We WILL return and see what its like after the Xmas period. We were incredibly impressed with the Dildar overall and think its certainly in one of the top 3 Indian restaurants we’ve visited over the years of doing this tour. Thoroughly recommended!!!

Should have been hear by 1920 was here by 19:55 - 1hour and 50mins after ordering. Had to reheat food when it got here! Apparently the food left the restaurant at 1900 but took 55

We have always supported The Dildar as the food and service is always so good! We ordered a takeaway tonight which took 2 hours to arrive. The portions were poor! Salad next to nothing! Chicken tikka so disappointing. I called the restaurant but they didn’t seem to care! Very disappointed

Love this place, have used this restaurant for well over 14 years when hubby was alive we ordered 1-2 times a week now my treat, perfect

First time ordering from Dildar and was very pleased, not only was the food delivered earlier than stated it was very tasty. Would definitely use again.

Food was lovely but rice needs salt when cooking

Have been coming here for over 30 years and never been disappointed. Food is excellent, price is reasonable and staff are very friendly. Restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, have tried other local Indians but the Dildar is by far our family favourite. When we have had family celebrations they have always gone above & beyond to help make the occasion special!

Still no hard boiled egg in the biryani, sadly. However, the meal was delicious as always.

As the order was in excess of £100, I would have expected at the very least some complimentary popadoms

Had a take away, ordered on line using just eat app and ready for collection on time. Food was perfect and more than enough for the 2 of us. Thanks Dildar, I will be back.

Restaurant details said delivery time 20-50 mins... this then kept extending. It arrived 1hr 40mins later. Not impressed.

Bought a madras lamb curry and it's really very bad wasted 7.05£ seriously you people don't know what in the world real madras curry would taste??? Please don't give tomato paste mixed with chilly powder there is zero chances to visit you again 😡

Lovely place for dinner all the tables were full but it was still quiet. Service was fast and everyone was polite and caring. Food was amazing the best I've tried. Will definitely be going there again.

The food is always lovely. However, the chicken tikka biryani although advertised with egg, again had none. Just some cucumber slices. I want the hard boiled egg in mine.

Food was good quality but was an hour late and leaking out of the bag when delivered so some curry lost

Rob is a great guy I spoke with over the phone and I promised I would try the restaurant if it was more than 4 star review. I will keep the promise and come back for an honest review on food, service and atmosphere.

Disappointing. Such a shame, the food used to be excellent and I always recommend it. This evening was disappointing, the flavours have all but disappeared, the food was not great but only just passable. Hopefully things will improve in the future, if not , this restaurant that I have dined at for over 30 years will close. I'll update in six months but right now I'm in no rush to go back
