Just had my dinner here at papa j’s food was too good as i asked for Indian style chef did the dish soo good that it reminded me of the restaurants i used to visit in India Had a chance to chat with one of manager Mr Raju his thoughts of maintaining restaurant was great looking to visit again

Incredible food, the flavours can’t describe how good. Also for tapas the portion sizes are great. If you’re in the area or even not it’s worth coming to this place.

1st time dinning-in visit based on overall rating found in Google maps and we were not disappointed. Kid's chicken popcorn and those potato chips were amazing for our little one. We had tikka, chicken 65, paneer and it was amazing. Love the free poppadoms while waiting. The waitress and manager were friendly and the food was good for all of us so we were happy and even took leftovers home as we ordered too much 😁.

Came back here for another try. Though I ordered the same dishes as last year, both were awesome this time and very tasty. <2024> Shrimp masala was pretty good, but appetiser of the tandoori chicken came later, which was cold inside. Though waiter changed it to new cooked dish, the meat was dry, and not so good.

We had a great experience at Papa J’s in Milton Keynes (MK), where the food was excellent. With that positive impression, we decided to try Papa J’s in Luton today—but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The Chicken Biryani served to us was clearly stale and had just been microwaved. We returned it immediately after the first bite. Out of the starters, we only managed to eat the Veg Manchurian, which was average at best. The Chilli Chicken starter was also subpar and remained mostly untouched. To make matters worse, we had placed a takeaway order at the beginning—before tasting any food—and it was packed before we could cancel it. So we were stuck with food we wouldn’t have ordered had we known the quality. Despite the fact that we didn’t consume even 1% of the Biryani, the manager never came to check on us or show any concern. This lack of basic customer service reflects poorly on the local management. Given how different the experience was compared to Papa J MK, it’s clear the Luton branch is being poorly managed.

Guys delivered a big order to us in Cambridge for work, and we ordered and collected again today in person for the kids. Awesome food. Got 30% off on collection too. Nice!

I visited this place today with my friend. The food was below average. We ordered black pepper chicken curry, naans, malai tikka, momos and drinks. Malai tikka was a complete disappointment. They gave us almost raw which was quite hard to eat as uncooked. We told them the issue. Rather than making new to us they gave us the same one and they cooked that too much that it was like rock. Momos nothing special below average. Only drinks and naans were fine. They just have presentation of food nothing else I don’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s a waste of money. We spent almost £50 Ambience 8/10 Food 2/10 Service 5/10

The Chicken Karahi was average in taste. It would have been better if bone-in chicken was used, as it adds more flavor. Additionally, the gravy could have been more flavorful. Didn't enjoy .

I haven’t been here for a while though I used to be a regular! I’ve been reminded that I shouldn’t leave it so long. The food was AMAZING and the service really was top tier!!! Navin and Divya went above and beyond to accommodate us and provide exceptional service! It was Divya’s first day, in fact her third hour of her first shift and I couldn’t tell, she’s a natural! I later learned Navin was training her, the two of them provided the epitome of what the hospitality industry should be, thank you! Again, special compliments to the chefs!

We had an amazing meal today, the Dahl was delicious, love the flavour twist with the poppadoms. Not your usual curry house, great flavours, my only criticism would be that the lamb chops, although well seasoned, the cut of meat today was a little sinewy, other than that they were great. Definitely will return!

Came here with a friend who had been once before. The restaurant is very clean and modern and looks good. We had not booked but as we went in early there was no que and we were seated straight away. We got the chicken korma, butter chicken, pilau rice and garlic naan for mains. The korma was my favourite as it is nothing like a typical korma, full of flavour and very tasty. For desert we had the coconut ice cream and cheesecake, the coconut ice cream is delicious, the cheesecake is average. The host/ waiters and waitresses were all kind and professional, all seemed happy even though they were at work! They did not rush us out and let us enjoy our evening. The toilets were downstairs but were modern and clean. There may be an accessible toilet but I didn’t see this. We lucked out when arriving as there was a parking space directly outside the restaurant. It’s a one way street that does get busy though. All in all, I highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely be going back.

First time in here and what can I say absolutely stunning food if your ever in Luton you have to try this place I can't recommend it enough

Had an amazing time as always. Food was insanely good, staff were amazing and so attentive despite it being a busy Sunday evening. Vaishnavi and naveen were so attentive and lovely. An absolute banger of a meal ought to be five stars all over Royal platter was delicious!

I went there and ordered my food then they said that it would take 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Which I was fine with but once it came the food was incredibly cold and when we checked items were missing. I tried calling the manager but he was ignoring us which made me and my family angry. The staff was very nice and they were working as hard as they could but they were understaffed so they were very tired. Also when I went to the manager he tried walking away but I stopped him. I told him the problem and he said he would fix it. It took another 10 minutes for the new food to arrive and then once it came an item was still missing. It was an absolute disaster as it was my brothers birthday and it ruined our day out.

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Papaj’s! The food was fantastic, with an incredible variety of choices. For starters, we ordered Chicken 65 and Veg Manchurian—both were bursting with flavour and perfectly cooked. For the main course, we went with Rajasthani Laal Maas, mutton, and pulao rice, and it was absolutely spot on! The flavors were rich, authentic, and packed with aromatic spices that truly elevated the experience. What made the evening even more special was the outstanding hospitality. I had called the restaurant a day in advance to ask about a cake for my friend's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to surprise us with a delicious cake. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration even more memorable. Overall, the combination of exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a great ambiance made this a truly wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

Service is very bad. They took a while to allocate us a table and on top of it we waited for more than 20 mins to place order and no one were even responding. They didn’t even mind checking and we have tried to reach out, they didn’t even respond. This is really bad and I would never recommend this place

Had an interesting concept meal with a medium platter it was very tasty but a little too much of confusing flavours in that many of the dishes tasted somewhat similar but of particular note was the sweet sticky chicken curry … service was good if a little rushed and the atmosphere could have been better however in fairness it was early on a Wednesday evening and the place only had six diners.

We ordered from their catering menu for our team celebratory lunch. We are based in Cambridge, but the food arrived hot still. There was a lot of food to go around and plenty of leftovers. We all really enjoyed it and some people had up to 4 plates of food. We would definitely recommend them.
